Chapter 15: Freeing the XYZ Dimension
Osrelios was currently out of the Duel Lodge, in a remote location. He was practicing his new powers. He found out that he can use minor versions of the Sacred Beast's powers, and that his emotions can trigger them.
He also found out, thanks to some guidance, that he can make it so his powers only affect what he wants it to affect. He figured that it could come in handy later.
It had been about two days since Oz lost to the Hell Kaiser.
He had been training with his powers non-stop. He will not lose again. And this time, he'll make sure that things go differently.
The previous day was the duel of Shun vs Kaito. Oz knows that Kaito's alliance is guaranteed.
Oz knew that with the unpredictable factors such as Sartorius, he'd have to tread more carefully.
Oz then ran into the city, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, using sacred fire to boost his jumps.
After a few minutes of Jumping, Oz saw the scene of Resistance members battling Obelisk Force members and Invasion force members. Oz saw Shun get injured.
Oz then jumped straight for the middle of the conflict, and activated his strength enhancing power from Raviel and hit the ground, causing a shockwave.
Osrelios then looked up from his landing with his Spirit Eyes active.
The Obelisk Force members back up.
"That's the guy who the Professor put on high priority." One of them commented.
A few of them were about to step forward, but Oz immediately sent out a psychic shockwave that forced returned the Obelisk Force.
All that was left was the Invasion Force.
Seeing the superhuman abilities that Oz showed, they started to back up.
"Ah, if it isn't the boy from a few days ago." Sartorius' voice rung out.
Sartorius then walked out of the crowd.
"Looks like fate would have it that you are my opponent. A high priority target."
Sartorius then motioned to the large cage. "While my friend deals with your friend, I'll be dealing with you."
Oz then took a glance at the cage and saw Yuya.
Oz then held up his Duel Disk.
"Oz!" Yuto shouts from behind.
Oz turned and saw him, he was standing next to Allen and Sayaka. He also could see Kaito running from the battle carrying an injured Shun.
"Don't be rash." Yuto advised.
Oz just smirked.
Oz then focused back on Sartorius. "Let's see if fate is really on your side."
"Is that a challenge? Very well." Sartorius said.
"Duel!" The two shout.
"I'll start this duel!" Oz declared.

"First I'll start by placing 3 trap cards face down." Oz said as he did so.
"Hm? Why are you telling me what you set?" Sartorius asked.
"So I can fulfill the summon conditions of a powerful monster. I tribute my three trap cards!" Oz explained.
"Deity with the burning power of the Phoenix! Bring forth a new dawn with your power! I summon Uria, Lord of Searing Flames!" Oz chanted.
Uria appeared from a huge pilar of fire, roaring out a powerful roar.

A bunch of the onlookers backed up in fear.
"That monster is... unique." Is all Sartorius could say.
"It's about to get worse for you." Oz stated. "Uria gains 1000 atk for each trap in my GY, currently there is 3, so Uria's atk is now 3000."

"I end my turn. Your up." Oz said.
"Draw!" Sartorius shouts.

'I'll need to use this power if I'm to conquer something like that. I don't know why, but it's familiar.' Sartorius thought to himself.
"I summon Arcana Force V - The Hierophant." Sartorius stated.
The Hierophant is a card that looks alien-ish, just like the other Arcana Force monsters. It has grey skin, a sleek body, and is wearing a Pope outfit.
Arcana Force V - The Hierophant: Level: 2, Type: Fairy/Effect, Attribute: Light, atk: 500, Def: 1000
Effect: Can not be destroyed by battle. If this card is summoned, toss a coin. *Heads: You can tribute this card; Special Summon 1 level 7 or higher "Arcana Force" monster from your hand, ignoring its summoning conditions. *Tails: your opponent can Tribute Summon level 7 or higher monsters for 1 less tribute.
"Now the Hierophant's effect with be determined by its position." Sartorius explained.
A large version of the card appeared overhead. It spun until it landed upright.
Sartorius smirked. "The upright effect of The Hierophant. I tribute it in order to summon a level 7 or higher Arcana Force monster from my hand, ignoring any summon conditions. I use this one monster to summon one of my aces!"
Red pillars of energy emerge from behind Sartorius.
"From the threads of destiny comes a darkness that destroys everything in its path. I shall gather that darkness into physical form to bend destiny to my will! I summon Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler!" Sartorius chanted.
The red energy pillars form into The Dark Ruler.
Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler: atk: 4000
"The Dark Ruler's effect is determined by its position. Now choose the position it will stop." Sartorius stated.
Oz quickly used his Spirit Eyes to determine when to stop it. He then found the perfect opportunity. "Stop!" He shouts.
The card was upside down.
Sartorius gave an expression of distaste. "Hm, shame. The Dark Ruler has an upright effect of being able to attack twice. Once however is enough."
"The Dark Ruler attack Uria, Lord of Searing Flames! Destiny of Destruction!" Sartorius commanded.
The Dark Ruler revealed its 2 extra heads before firing off two dark blasts from the extra heads.
Uria responded by firing a blast back at them, however the counter attack was fruitless as the dark blasts ended up consuming Uria. An explosion occurred that caused Oz to flinch.

"I set 3 cards and end my turn." Sartorius Declared.
"My turn, Draw!" Oz declared.

Oz then took a look at his hand. He smirked.
"I discard a trap from my hand in order to resurrect Uria with its own effect! Phoenix Resurrection!" Oz declared.
A pillar of fire erupted from the ground before Uria emerged from it. Uria gave another roar.
Uria, Lord of Searing Flames: atk: 4000
"I see... with one more trap in your GY, your monster's atk increases." Sartorius observed.
"That's right. And now it's power ties that of The Dark Ruler's." Oz stated. "When Uria resurrects itself, it is unable to use its other effects, nor attack for the turn. So instead I'll play my field spell: Fallen Paradise!"
"This field spell is special. It grants protection for Uria and three other monsters, making them in able to be destroyed by card effect, and prevents them from being targeted. Additionally if I control any of these 4 monsters, I am able to draw 2 cards in my main phase." Oz explained as he drew two more cards.
Oz then saw the two cards and smirked. "I set one card. Then I activate the spell: Card of Sanctity! This card forces both of us to draw until we hold six cards in our hands."
Oz drew 6 cards while Sartorius drew 5.
"Now I summon Chaos Summoning Beast." Oz declared.
The small fiend rose up from surrounding darkness.

"After summoning something formidable like your Uria, I can only assume that your smaller monster must Have a strong effect." Sartorius pointed out.
"You'd be correct to assume that. I tribute Chaos Summoning Beast to summon a particular monster from my hand." Oz explained.
"Deity with the thunderous powers of electricity! Strike down all who dare to hurt the innocent! Appear! Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder!" Oz chanted.
Dark clouds gather together in the sky before a huge bolt of electricity strikes the ground. From the electricity, Hamon appeared. Hamon then gave a powerful roar.

The already startled onlookers became even more frightened by the appearance of Hamon.
The two Sacred Beasts were emitting a lot of pressure. Oz noticed this and addressed the problem. "Both of you, ease up on the pressure."
The two Sacred Beasts complied and stopped emitting pressure.
The onlookers immediately began to calm down.
'Another familiar monster...' Sartorius thought.
"Now I activate my face down! Raigeki! This automatically destroys all of your monsters!" Oz declared.
Lightning came out of nowhere and struck The Dark Ruler. The Dark Ruler tried to shrug off the Lightning, but ended up getting destroyed.
Sartorius then smirked. "The Dark Ruler's reverse effect. When The Dark Ruler is destroyed, all cards go with it. Then during my next standby phase, it resurrects."
"Due to how this ruling works, my field spell will be the only thing that's destroyed." Oz explained.
As Oz explained, his Sacred Beasts were safe.
"Now Hamon attack him directly! Cerulean Skyfire!" Oz shouts.
"Please miss on purpose." Oz telepathically said.
Hamon launched Lightning up into the sky.
"I discard Arcana Force XIV - Temperance to reduce the damage to zero." Sartorius countered.
The Lightning fell down, and hit a barrier created by Temperance.
"Next I set 3 cards and end my turn." Oz declared.
"In that case. My turn! Draw!" Sartorius said.
Sartorius LP: 4000 hand: 6
"During my standby phase, The Dark Ruler resurrects." Sartorius explained.
The Dark Ruler appeared from a dark portal.
Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler: atk: 4000
"The Dark Ruler's effect will be based on it's position. Now choose."
Oz watched the card spin. "Stop."
The card landed upright.
"That means The Dark Ruler can attack twice." Sartorius explained.
"Now Trap Cards: The Material Lord, and The Spiritual Lord!" Sartorius shouts.
'Uh oh.' Oz thought.
"Now I use The Spiritual Lord's effect! I discard Arcana Force XXI - The World to add The Sky Lord to my hand! Now I activate it!" Sartorius explained as he did so.
The three cards then sent pillars of light straight into the air.
"Now I sacrifice these three pillars of light, to summon the Ultimate Arcana from my deck!" Sartorius declared.
"The destructive light that sleeps in the depths of fate. Rise and consume everything in your path! Come forth! Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler!" Sartorius chanted.
The Light Ruler emerged from the pillars of light.

At first Oz was concerned, but he noticed a distinct lack of the Light of Destruction.
'That's significantly less concerning.' Oz thought to himself.
"The Light Ruler's effect is determined by its position. Now choose."
Oz had to make sure it wasn't upside down. "Stop!"
The card landed upright.
"The Light Ruler's upright effect. When it destroys a monster by battle, I can add a card from my GY to my hand." Sartorius explained.
'For the supposed vessel of the Light of Destruction, its effects aren't that threatening. Why was it a threat again?... oh yeah, the atk points.'
"Now, I activate my last face down. The quick-play spell: Twin Arcana strike. This card allows me to discard an Arcana Force monster in order to add that monster's atk to all Arcana Force monsters I control. I discard Arcana Force III - The Empress in order to add its 1300 atk to both of my Rulers." Sartorius explained.
The Light Ruler: atk: 5300
The Dark Ruler: atk: 5300
'That's more concerning.'
"Now, The Dark Ruler! Attack his monsters! Destiny of Destruction!"
The Dark Ruler sent out two dark energy balls heading towards the two Sacred Beasts.
"Trap card! Negate Attack! Your battle phase is forced to a close." Oz countered. "Additionally, Uria's atk increases!"
Uria: atk: 5000
"In that case I'll set two cards and end my turn." Sartorius concluded.
"Before your turn ends, I activate the quick-play spell called Spell card: Monster Reborn! This works just like the classic Monster Reborn but doesn't allow for me to use the summoned monster's effects or attack until the next turn. I summon back Chaos Summoning Beast." Oz explained.
Chaos Summoning Beast: atk: 0
"So your using it on my turn to get rid of that flaw." Sartorius observed.
"That's right. Now it's my turn! Draw!" Oz shouts.
Osrelios LP: 3000 hand: 2
"I tribute Chaos Summoning Beast to summon the last of the 3 Sacred Beasts!" Oz declared.
"Deity with the supreme strength. With your power, we will guide the world to the desired future! Appear! Raviel, Lord of Phantasms!" Oz chanted.
Raviel appeared from growing shadows before letting out a powerful roar.
The members of the Invasion Force backed up further.
Raviel, Lord of Phantasms: atk: 4000
"Now I summon Sacred Assist Beast." Oz declared.
Sacred Assist Beast is a monster that looks similar to the Sacred Beast support monsters. It is black in color, and has a skeletal frame. It is slightly shorter than Dark Summoning Beast, and has bone-like wings on its back.
Sacred Assist Beast: Level: 4, Type: Fiend/Effect, Attribute: Dark, atk: 2000, Def: 0
Effect: If this card is in your GY, and you control "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames", "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder", or "Raviel, Lord of Phantasms", except for the turn this card was sent to the GY; Special Summon this card. If you are to tribute 2 or more monsters for an effect; you can treat this card as 2 tributes for that effect. If this card is tributed for an effect, you can not attack directly that turn. Neither Player takes any battle damage in attacks involving this card.
"Now I tribute Sacred Assist Beast to increase Raviel's atk! Normally I have to use two, but Sacred Assist Beast can count as more than 1." Oz explained.
Raviel grabbed Sacred Assist Beast and absorbed it.
Raviel: atk: 6000
"Next I activate the trap: Gift of the Mystical Elf! I increase my LP by 300 for each monster on the field! There's 3 on mine and 2 on yours. That's a total of 5 meaning I gain 1500 LP." Oz explained.
Osrelios LP: 4500
"And with another yet another trap in my GY, Uria's atk increases!"
Uria: atk: 6000
"Now! Uria attack The Dark Ruler! Hyper Blaze!"
Uria fired off its attack at The Dark Ruler. The Dark Ruler tried to counter, but the attack tore through the blast.
Sartorius LP: 3300
"Now, Raviel attack The Light Ruler! Shimmering Scraper!"
"Counter it! The End of Ray!" Sartorius shouts.
The Light Ruler fired off a blast of light, but Raviel easily tore through it and slashed apart The Light Ruler.
Sartorius LP: 2600
"Due to Sacred Assist Beast's effect, I can't attack directly. Now I end my turn." Oz declared. "Raviel's atk returns to normal."
Raviel: atk: 4000
"My turn. Draw." Sartorius calmly said as his eyes were covered by his hair.
Sartorius the saw the card he drew and grew a huge smirk.
Sartorius LP: 2600 hand: 3
"Trap Card: Broken Fate. This card revives an Arcana Force monster from my GY, ignoring Summoning Conditions. Revive! Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler!"
Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler: atk: 4000
"Now! I activate the quick-play spell: Fusion of Fate! This is a card specifically for Arcana Force monsters! I am allowed to use monsters from my field and GY by banishing them to Fusion Summon. What's more is that if I control either The Light Ruler or The Dark Ruler, you can't activate effects in response to this card! I banish both of my Rulers!" Sartorius declared.
"The dual sides of fate unify to form pure chaos! Destiny is now completely in my hands! I Fusion Summon! The light and darkness that spins the threads of destiny: Ultimate Arcana Force EX - The Chaos Ruler!" Sartorius chanted.
The Chaos Ruler is a monster that is similar in shape to both The Dark Ruler and The Light Ruler. It is half black and half white in color, with a two dragon-like heads to its sides, just like the two other Rulers. One head has demonic-like horns while the other has horns that look like angelic wings.
Ultimate Arcana Force EX- The Chaos Ruler: Level: 12, Type: Fairy/Fusion/Effect, Attribute: Light, atk: 5000 Def: 5000
Summon conditions: "Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler" {plus} "Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler"
Effect: Must be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Materials. When this card is Fusion Summoned, toss a coin. *Heads: This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. *Tails: When this card destroys an opposing monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster's atk or def (Whichever is higher).
The Chaos Ruler was almost as large as the 3 Sacred Beasts.
A large version of the card appeared and began to spin.
"The Chaos Ruler, much like my other Arcana Force monsters, has an effect determined by its position. Now choose your fate." Sartorius explained.
Oz once again activated his Spirit Eyes and watched carefully. "Stop."
The card landed upside down.
Sartorius started to laugh. "The Chaos Ruler's reverse effect: when it destroys a monster by battle, you take damage equal to that monster's higher value, its atk or its Def."
"Now! The Chaos Ruler, attack Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder! Beyond Destiny: Apocalyptic Ray!" Sartorius shouted.
The Chaos Ruler fired a dark and light blast from its extra heads.
Hamon responded by firing Lightning at the blast.
The blast overcame the Lightning and struck Hamon.
Hamon was blasted into several pieces floating in the air.

"Now, take your monster's atk and lose. The End of Destiny!" Sartorius shouts.
The Chaos Ruler fired a laser from its eye, aiming at Oz.
The pieces of Hamon suddenly gather together and surround Oz in an electrical barrier.
The electrical barrier completely blocked the laser.
"What the!?" Sartorius exclaimed.
Oz then smirked. "When Hamon is destroyed, I don't take damage for the rest of the turn."
Sartorius then let out a small growl. "In that case, trap card: Reversal of Fate. The Chaos Ruler becomes upright." Sartorius explained.
The large version of the card appeared and changed to upright.
"The Chaos Ruler's upright effect: it can attack all your monsters, once each. Attack Raviel. Beyond Destiny: Apocalyptic Ray!"
"I still don't take damage!" Oz reminded.
The Chaos Ruler fired its attack again. Raviel tried to counter it, but got destroyed, leaving only Uria on Oz' field.
"I end my turn." Sartorius declared.
"This is the final turn." Oz declared. His eyes glowed in his Spirit Eyes, and he drew. "Draw!"

"You fused your strongest monsters together, so allow me to do the same! I activate Dimension Fusion Destruction!" Oz declared.
"The three Sacred Deities who shadow the Egyptian gods! Combine your forms and bring forth the ultimate power! Fusion Summon! Armityle The Chaos Phantasm!" Oz chanted.
Armityle rises up out of a huge shadow, and lets out an even more powerful roar than its parts combined.
Armityle The Chaos Phantasm: atk: 0
The arrival of Armityle shocked everyone. Even Yuya and Edo stopped for a moment to look at the Deity.
"Armityle attack! Phantom of Fury!" Oz shouts.
"When Armityle battles, its atk automatically rises to 10,000!" Oz explained.
Armityle The Chaos Phantasm: atk: 10000
"10,000..." Sartorius quietly said.
Armityle fired off its attack, while The Chaos Ruler did the same.
The two blasts clashed before Armityle's attack quickly overcame The Chaos Ruler's.
The blast continued and consumed The Chaos Ruler, causing an explosion.
Sartorius LP: 0
Sartorius fell down to his knees.
Oz gave a smirk. "And that's game!"
Oz then did Jaden's famous pose.
Sartorius then widened his eyes.
Sartorius clutched his head in pain.
Sartorius then stood up looking confused.
"I... remember my original life." He stated.
"Original life?" Yuto quietly repeated.
"You... Your just like Jaden. The real Jaden." Sartorius said pointing to Oz.
Another explosion occurred, they all look over to see Edo get defeated by Yuya.
"It appears that Edo has lost his duel." Sartorius observed.
Once Edo got back up, he immediately began to defend Yuya, along with the Tyler Sisters who were there.
Oz, Yuto and Sartorius all jumped down to where Yuya and Edo were.
"Edo, my friend. It's time you remember." Sartorius said.
"Remember what?" Edo asked.
Oz then held out Elemental Hero Neos.
"That card...!" Edo clutched his head. "I remember!"
Edo then looked at Sartorius. "It's good to be truly back my friend."
"It certainly is." Sartorius responded.
"I'm confused. What are you talking about?" Yuya asked.
"Ah, I guess you wouldn't understand. The simple terms is that we had a past life. Our original memories were locked away." Sartorius explained.
Kaito who overheard that become lost in his own thoughts.
The group all gathered together and began to convince the Academia students to switch sides. Very quickly, they began to lay down their duel disks.
Once all of the students lay down their duel disks, Edo and Sartorius started to gain proud looks.
"We're going to fix this world. Make up for our sins." Edo stated.
Suddenly, a whole army of Obelisk Force members appeared.
They all pull out their duel disks and get ready.
Oz immediately ran forward. "Those of you who are willing to make up for your sins, join me in this battle!"
As Oz was running forward, Kaito landed right next to him. "Need some help?"
Oz smirked. "Let's do this!
Oz then activated his Spirit Eyes.
"Summon your monsters outside a duel." Oz commanded.
Kaito complied and summoned Cipher Dragon.
The Obelisk Force members began calling out Ancient Gear monsters. It was clear that this was going to be a battle.
Oz grabbed a card from his deck box. "It's now or never. Lend me your help."
The card he took out began to shine. "Hey Kaito! You'll find this monster very familiar."
Oz then held the card up. "Galaxy shining in the darkness. The embodiment of light descends! Appear Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"
Galaxy-Eyes Photon appeared and gave a loud roar.
Kaito immediately gained a huge pain him his head before getting up a moment later.
"Galaxy-Eyes it is good to see you after so long. Although the sentimental stuff can be saved for later. We have a battle to win." Kaito said.
"Right. But let's make this more interesting. A quadruple Galaxy-Eyes fight." Oz replied.
"Now come forth Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, Galaxy-Eyes Chrono Dragon!" Oz shouts.
The other two Galaxy-Eyes appeared and roared.
The 4 dragons then immediately began clashing with the Ancient Gears. A bunch of other monsters began to join the clash against the machines.
Kaito and Oz were back to back. "If Mizael was here, he'd definitely be jealous that your using his own Galaxy-Eyes." Kaito commented.
"And you not jealous that I'm using yours?" Oz asked.
"Course I am. I'm just focusing at the task at hand." Kaito replied.
"By the way, do you want it back once this is over?" Oz asked as he dodged an Ancient Gear Soldier.
"I may remember my original life, but this is still my current one. You keep it, who knows, it might just save you one day."
Oz then smirked. "Alright then."
The four Galaxy-Eyes then fired off their attacks taking out a huge amount of Ancient Gears.
It was then that Chaos Ancient Gear Giants began to appear.
"Got any miracles?" Kaito asked.
"Definitely." Oz replied.
"Chrono Dragon! Chronostasis!" Oz shouts.
Chrono Dragon used its effect and all the Ancient Gears froze.
Oz then held up a spell card. "I activate Numeron Creation!" Oz shouts.
"Genesis dragon, god of reality, descend from your domain and guide us to the truth. Appear Number 100! Numeron Dragon!" Oz chanted.
The golden dragon descends onto the battlefield.
"How do you have Numeron Dragon?" Kaito questioned.
"I'll explain later." Oz said.
Oz then faced forward. "Numeron gains strength for each rank that's in play. We have dozens of XYZ monsters in this fight alone."
"Now! Attack! Golden Genesis Stream!" Oz commanded.
Numeron Dragon fired off a large golden energy beam. The attack hit all of the Ancient Gears at once and caused a mass forced return from the Obelisk Force members.
The battle had been won.
Around two days later, Oz walked out of the Duel Lodge, meeting up with Kaito, Edo and Sartorius.
"You're probably wondering about how I came into possession of all of these cards from your past?" Oz inquired.
"Exactly. You also seemed to know which cards, and/or actions would potentially reawaken our memories." Edo stated. "Just who are you?"
Oz then sighed. "I'm just someone on a mission."
"What mission?" Kaito questioned.
"To fix a lot of things. From the memories of duelists who are out of their time, to the sins that have been committed in the name of that madman." Oz explained.
"That explains about you awakening our memories, but what about those cards? From the "Numbers" as Kaito called them, to Neos and the Sacred Beasts." Sartorius said.
"I was chosen by these cards to complete this mission. They said that I needed as much help as I could get, and what better help than several decks?"
"The cards chose you? Even Galaxy-Eyes?" Kaito asked.
"Not Galaxy-Eyes, that was the blank card found in your locker. But yes, I was chosen. Besides, I plan on giving most of them back to their original owners once I restore their memories." Oz explained. "Let it be known that I was given information about those who need their memories fixed. Especially from Spirits that have a connection to them."
"Another thing I'd like to clarify." Edo said. "You are a psychic duelist aren't you?"
"Yes. Although I'm able to keep my powers under control." Oz answered.
Oz then turned to Sartorius. "Since we are on the topic of powers and such. Is it strange to you that you have The Light Ruler?"
"It actually is. I have the card, but it doesn't hold the Light of Destruction."
"I'm just glad that it's actually you, and not some evil force." Edo commented.
"Since the three of you are here, I'd like to make a request." Oz said.
"Sure. Lay it on us." Edo said.
"When the Lancers and myself leave for the Fusion Dimension tomorrow, I'd like to request that out of the three of you, for only Kaito to tag along."
"Why just me? Won't we have a better chance if we have higher numbers?" Kaito asked.
"While that is true, I'd also feel better if we had a few competent duelists guarding the XYZ Dimension while we are gone.
