Ginny's POV
Nov 25
"Come on Emmie, almost there" I spoke down to my daughter. It was already almost 3, Emmie needed a nap and we had been traveling through the floo networks and of course getting stuck in lines at the Ministry in both the U.S and now England. I felt exhausted, I didn't sleep last night and then this transportation has been a long mess along with moving almost all of our belongings just in case this meeting went the way I wanted. I was ready to come home, hopefully others were okay with that.
"Mummy my stomach hurts, I'm tired." Emmie whined out while wrapped around her moms leg.
"I know baby, almost done, look we're next in line then we can go home." I practically begged out. I adjusted my backpack and my purse to the left side brushing Emmies hair back. She looked a lot like me thankfully, beautiful big brown eyes, and freckles dotting her nose and cheeks with long dark red hair falling down her back. She was my baby girl, thankful for her every day.
"Next in line, please step up" a clerk shouted out. I tugged on my purse and grabbed Emmies hand to move forward.
"Reason for return?" she asked while looking down at the paperwork I had handed to her.
"Moving back home, job relocation." I replied back, even though the job was not 100% and the whole being back home still scared the daylights out of me.
"Alright you're good to go Miss. Weasley, welcome home." she muttered back to me.
I smiled back, and tugged on Emmie, pointing to her where we needed to go.
"Mummy, mummy up" Emmie tugged on my jeans.
"Baby mummy can't pick you up, come on hold my hand and keep walking right to those flames."
"But mummy, my tummy really hurts," Emmie whimpered, obviously about to have a tantrum right here in the middle of the ministry of magic. Just great.
"Okay, come here" I whispered to her gently tugging her to the side to not be in the way of workers, did Ron still work here? Did Har? No, don't think about them, focus on your daughter. She is your priority. I quickly muttered a quick charm to my purse so it wouldn't bang my side and hoisted my daughter up quickly, brushing a kiss to her cheek. She leaned her head into my neck and let out a hmph, obviously happier already.
Having been an experienced single mom getting into the floo with bags hanging off me and a child locked in my arms I quickly grabbed the ministry floo powder muttering the inn name, the Holyhead Harpies were putting me up for the rest of the contract meetings.
It was beautiful, Holyhead was a small town in the country with mostly muggles living there besides a couple first-year players who had to live in Holyhead village for the first year of their contract. Seacroft House was a small Inn located along the water. Luckily we got a suite, which came with one bedroom, a small kitchenette and living space.
"Welcome to Seacroft House, how can I help you?" The front desk woman spoke to me, wearing a nametag that said Martha.
Walking in still carrying Emmie I replied back, "Hi, Ginny Weasley, I should have a suite booked."
"Ah yes, here we are Miss. Weasley, welcome, I have your key here, your stuff was sent up to your room this morning, and here is a list of the local restaurants and activities for you to do, as well as a list of our hours, we serve breakfast at 8 sharp and dinner at 6, please follow quiet hours from 9 to 7 am. Any questions feel free to ask me" she spoke warmly. She had the warmth of someone who definitely was a mother. Gosh I missed my mom.
"No mam, thank you!" I replied.
"Anything for the little miss" She asked my daughter.
Feeling Emmie squeeze me tighter I answered for her, "She's okay, thank you though, my daughter's shy sorry mam."
"Oh don't worry about it my little ones were the same of course that was years ago they now are getting ready for their own littles, so I understand, we do have a nice children's area in the living room to your left before the stairs alright?" She replied back nonchalantly.
I grabbed the keys and paper from the small table giving her a smile replying to my own thanks. I looked at my watch on my left hand, 3:35, alright it's not too late to get Emmie down for a nap and then unpack some stuff before confirming tomorrow's plans.
I swiftly unlocked our room door, lowered Emmy down and threw my backpack and purse onto the little couch near the door, locating the door to the bedroom.
"Alright honey come here, let's take off your jacket", in the November weather England was right on time with freezing temp and snowfall, "and take off your shoes, good honey come on were gonna go take a little nap okay" I spoke hoisting her up into my arms cradling her.
"Mummy will you sing me the goodnight song" she whispered.
"Sure honey" I quickly replied, the room was quant but very sweet with light green walls reminding me of a field of flowers, and a soft hue of light coming in from the bay windows. There in the center of the room was a king size bed with a flowered quilt. I gently tugged the quilt away, setting the top pillows aside, laying Emmie down covering her, knowing how much she loves to cuddle with the blanket all the way to her chin.
"Mummy sing sing" she mumbled, grabbing the sheet.
"Deep in the meadow, under the willow, a warm bed of grass, a soft green pillow. Lay down your head, And close your eyes, and when they open, the sun will riseā¦"
Her steady breathing was the sure sign Emmie was sound asleep, so I sat up from the bed, pulled the curtains close and gently shut the bedroom door on my way out. I walked over where I dropped everything and did a quick expansion charm returning the purse and backpack to its full size. Once I had removed all the immediate items that I didn't need to put in the bedroom right away I started on the letter to Bill, who had requested a lunch with Emmie and I at our earliest convenience. I took out my planner, checking the next days schedule, my first meeting with the Harpies was Thursday, so that was two days from now, luckily they had a daycare that Emmie could stay in for the duration of the meeting which was one major stress figured out, maybe Bill could have lunch tomorrow or Sat. Quickly jotting down a quick letter and sealing it I checked on Emmie once more before running down stairs to borrow an owl to send off my letter.
