AUTHOR'S NOTE:

-The whole eye regeneration business last chapter has nothing to do with Boruto as I didn't even know Boruto lost an eye. I have never planned for a doujutsu to come into play either.

-I'm adding this little timeline even though it's reflected in the text of this chapter just as a reference.

Last time:

Siegfried passed all his tests and thought to himself, 'Now to get used to binocular vision and depth perception again.'

That's when he saw T'Rel walk in and she said, "The doctor said your eye is fully restored. I am so pleased to see both of your beautiful eyes again." Ice blue stared into violet awkwardly for what seemed like an eternity and finally she broke the silence. "Can we talk privately later? There is so much I want to tell you."

He looked at his down and replied, "We can speak in my room later. I need to see everything I have missed and look over my notes I wrote before I lost consciousness."

T'Rel said, "Professor Lorot took your notes and copied them to the main computer. He indicated they were very valuable."

"They are very valuable…to my grades." growled Siegfried. 'If Professor Lorot started messing with my formulas, he's liable to wreck everything!'

Sovar poked his head in sensing his grandson's irritation and asked, "Is all well you two?"

Nodding, T'Rel replied, "We were just talking about Siegfried's notes and the fact Professor Lorot has them."

That's when Professor Lorot barreled in with Siegfried's tablet in hand and said, "Mister M'Fau! I heard you were awake and rushed down here to see you."

The (currently shirtless) Siegfried said in a commanding tone, "I will take my notes back now Professor." Lorot held onto the tablet possessively for a moment before reluctantly handing it back to Siegfried who added, "I trust you haven't altered any of my formulas?"

The eccentric Professor shook his head 'no' rapidly. "They are…absolutely brilliant! I haven't touched them. But I must ask, what inspired these ideas?"

Siegfried answered, "I had an epiphany while I was discussing …things… with T'Rel."

Lorot turned to T'Rel as if noticing the beautiful girl for the first time and asked, "You are…?"

"I am T'Rel Mihn sir." she answered.

The Professor looked puzzled and said, "I don't remember you from Computer Science Class."

"That's because she is a linguist major, not a computer science major." stated Siegfried in a flat tone.

T'Rel nodded. "I speak fourteen languages."

Lorot turned to Sovar and said, "And you are…?"

"I'm just a wandering martial arts instructor." said Sovar in the same flat tone as his grandson to the oddball Professor. "Children, I will see you later." He gave the Vulcan salute and said, "Peace and long life." before he departed.

"What an unusual character." pondered Lorot aloud.

'Have you ever looked in a mirror?' thought Siegfried and T'Rel as one.

Chapter 67

Stardate 2282.218, Planet Vulcan, ShiKahr District, Vulcan Science Academy

Siegfried M'Fau was looking back over his life and had to wonder how things got so crazy. He had been born on Charybdis IV in 2267 and was raised by Rafi until he was 6. After that he was raised by his Grandparents T'Ara and Sovar M'Fau. His birth parents Samui and Naruto were around for about a year, but their duties kept them from forming the bond they all wanted. Then the U.S.S. Wolverine and his parents were MIA for four years…

They returned in late 2278 when Siegfried was 11 and for the past three years had been in regular contact. Then the war started, and communications got difficult. They had told him in their last contact that they were silent running and would contact him when they could.

Now Siegfried was dealing with the aftermath of one of the most disastrous pon farrs in history and only he and his Grandfather Sovar could really discuss it. Sovar had informed him, "Reconciliation is a long road. It will be difficult at best and impossible at worst. That is assuming you actually want it." The platinum blonde was very confused at T'Rel Mihn and even more angry at her.

Then T'Rel explained her logic. "You won the kal-if-fee and therefore I belong to you. I am yours and you are mine." Siegfried had spent the last week avoiding her like the plague after that thoughtless explanation…

The platinum blonde thought, 'Does she not realize the agony I went through because of her stupid and careless actions? T'Rel's Logic is flawed. Perhaps I should seek out a High Master or Priestess for guidance.'

Now it was early August and he would be turning 15 in a few days…

Stardate 2282.224, ShiKahr City, Old Quarter, ShiKahr Temple

'It is my fifteenth birthday today and I have the weekend off at home.' thought Siegfried. 'I have arranged to go to see the High Priestess of the ShiKahr Temple in the Old Quarter. All is going according to schedule and Grandfather has approved of my course of action.'

Taking a public transport, the platinum blonde soon arrived at the ShiKahr Temple to see the elderly High Priestess Lorian who might be able to provide insights to the answers he sought.

Priestess Lorian was sitting when she greeted Siegfried and said, "Peace and long life young M'Fau. Please come in and sit. Then we may discuss what troubles your mind." She offered him some tea to relax with which he gladly accepted. After they finished their tea she said, "Tell me what troubles you Siegfried, son of Naruto."

"I experienced a failed pon farr and it has left my mind confused and enraged." said Siegfried. "I have not been right since it started."

"You say your pon farr failed, how so?" asked the priestess.

"I… I was driven into plak tow and had to kill my rival." explained the young Vulcan.

She held up her hand in a 'stop' motion said, "I can tell there are many extenuating circumstances. Your thoughts please."

He nodded and closed his eyes as she initiated a mind meld and touched his thoughts. She said, "You have been wounded to the core by someone you trusted and considered your dearest friend young M'Fau." A single tear rolled down his cheek. "Many young Vulcans would have given into the pain and rage you are experiencing. Even though you are only part Vulcan your logic and discipline have remained intact."

"Yet I am so full of anger and sorrow." he thought aloud.

She released the mind meld and said, "Meditation will help you quell the boiling below the surface, but it will not solve the problem. You must confront the source of the problem to solve your issues."

"Then I must touch minds with T'Rel show her what she did to me." said the blonde. "Only then will I have the answer to my question."

"And what is your question young M'Fau?" asked the High Priestess.

Siegfried exhaled. "Is she even worth reconciling with? Only with that answer will I know how to proceed."

Lorian nodded. "Be careful young one. You are resilient but not unbreakable."

"I thank you for your guidance High Priestess Lorian." he said as he gave the Vulcan salute. "Live long and prosper."

On the way out Siegfried saw a junior priestess standing at a podium with a donations stand beside her. She asked, "Will you donate to the restoration of the ShiKahr Temple?"

"How much does the temple need?" asked the blonde in his desert travelling clothes.

She replied, "Our goal is 25,000 credits this year, but any sum will do."

"This Temple has helped my family for generations." he said conversationally. She looked oddly at the blonde-haired young man as he took out a credit stick and entered an amount on it. "Perhaps it's time to give some back." He inserted the credit stick and punched the transfer funds button before taking it out and walking away.

The junior priestess thought, 'What a curious young man.' Then she saw 100,000 credits had been deposited and nearly fainted in shock. She looked around but the young blonde was gone.

"Is something wrong Priestess Lyras?" asked the High Priestess.

Lyras said, "High Priestess Lorian, that young blonde male donated a fortune to the Temple!"

The elder priestess raised her eyebrows as she looked at the amount. "So, he did Lyras, so he did."

T'Ara and Sovar's House

Sovar was sitting in meditation in the front room when his grandson returned. After the blonde took off his sandals and travelling robes, he sat down across from his Grandfather. The elder of the pair asked, "Did you find your answers Siegfried?"

"I found a path to my answers Grandfather." replied the younger of the pair. "First I need to follow your advice and meditate to calm my mind."

"As your Grandmother T'Ara is so fond of saying, clarity of thought before rashness of action." quoted the martial arts master.

"You seem to be in better spirits Grandfather." said the blonde.

Sovar had a twinkle in his eye. "I must admit, I am. While you were in the old quarter, T'Ara called. Though she is an active-duty officer now, she is serving in attaché duties here in ShiKahr at the request of Director Sekla of the Vulcan Science Academy. Something about the Daystrom Institute annex on Earth. Your Grandmother is coming home."

"I am so pleased Grandfather." replied the blonde. "I have missed her, but I know you have missed her even more."

Sovar gave a tiny smile and said, "She will be home in three days. I will be there to greet her."

"I feel more at ease already." said Siegfried. "I wonder what the Daystrom Institute on Earth wants. It is part of the Starfleet Academy."

"You seem well informed grandson." said the elder of the two.

The blonde said, "When I decided to join the VSA, Starfleet wanted me to attend the Daystrom Institute instead. It has several annexes throughout the Federation."

Stardate 2282.226, ShiKahr District, Vulcan Science Academy

Naruto and Samui's son returned to the Vulcan Science Academy Monday morning knowing his Grandmother and Grandfather were both eager to see one another and needed some alone time. He planned to see them both after class that evening (homework permitting). In the meantime, he had class with Professor Lorot for the first two hours. The Professor was absolutely obsessed with his new (unfinished) computer theorem, and it was irritating the young Vulcan hybrid.

Lorot greeted the blonde, "Siegfried M'Fau, how is the theorem coming along?"

The M'Fau scion wanted to grit his teeth but answered, "It is progressing, Professor."

"Excellent!" exclaimed Lorot. "Keep working diligently Mister M'Fau."

Siegfried noticed the other advanced computer science students eyeing him and wondering why Professor Lorot was showering him with attention. It made the blonde feel uncomfortable.

Then the wheels suddenly started spinning at warp speed in Siegfried's brain again right in the middle of class and he cleared his class notes and started writing formulas like mad. 'I can see it with such clarity now! The formulas are flowing so much more smoothly this time.' As his brain entered hyperthought his hands danced across the touchscreen effortlessly...

…As Siegfried punched the final key, he had to steady himself from the exertion. He exhaled and saw the entire class staring at him in astonishment. Then the blonde saw his formulas up on the large holographic screen where the professor normally stood. Lorot was gaping at the screen and said, "There are people that have taken decades to write formulas like this, Mister M'Fau. Any time you feel inspired like this, feel free to interrupt my class."

Siegfried was blushing bright green as his classmates stared between him and the holographic screen in absolute awe…

Director Sekla's Office

T'Ara was sitting there in her (now full Commander) Starfleet Uniform. Sovar was with her by invitation and the two were crossing fingers. Director Sekla said, "You are the foremost expert on the hyperthought phenomena Doctor T'Ara. Your son Naruto has it and obviously your grandson Siegfried has it. That's part of the reason I wanted you here as attaché. That and you can act as a buffer between the Daystrom Institute and your grandson."

"I will do my best to serve Director Sekla. Computer Science is not my area of expertise, but I know a supernova when I see one." stated Siegfried's Grandmother.

"My thoughts exactly Doctor T'Ara." said the Director. "Professor Lorot is brilliant even if he is a bit eccentric. He says young Siegfried has laid the foundation for the next level of duotronic computers and beyond."

"That is quite a statement." said T'Ara. She turned to Sovar and said, "It seems our Grandson is every bit as brilliant as his Father and Mother, if not more so."

Sovar nodded and said, "I believe Siegfried got that from you T'Ara. I wonder what our other grandchildren will be like."

"Hopefully we will be blessed with many of them." she replied.

Siegfried's Quarters

That evening, Siegfried was doing his homework along with the help of a shadow clone when he heard a knock at his door. Dispelling his clone, the blonde answered his door. It was T'Rel. She asked, "Why have you been avoiding me? We are to-"

"You wish to share thoughts." he stated coldly. "Enter."

The light was low in the evening and his eyes crackled furiously with chakra. He sat down and pointed to the chair in front of him. She sensed the anger radiating off him and felt a bit of apprehension. T'Rel said, "You seem stressed Siegfried. We can wait."

Siegfried ground out, "You want a mind meld, you will get it. Now sit down."

T'Rel sat down reluctantly, and they placed their fingers against one another's temples and foreheads. They said in unison, "My mind to your mind, my thoughts to your thoughts…"

She was immediately hit with tsunami of rage, sorrow and love twinned with hate. It was like staring into the sun to the young Vulcan woman. T'Rel felt all the betrayal and pain that Siegfried had felt as it hit her like a meteor impact. Her eyes widened in shock and horror as his thoughts crushed her defenses and engulfed her.

T'Rel was so overwhelmed that she was knocked back into her chair and tried to break contact. 'Now do you see what you did to me?!' he mentally roared. 'Do you feel my pain T'Rel?!'

She keeled over to the floor and the contact was severed. T'Rel thought of the gentle and kind boy she'd always known and wondered if she would ever be able to quell the rage in his soul. "I-I was glad you won the challenge. I knew you were the one for me. Let me make it right!"

"Make it right?" he asked clinically. "And just how do you intend to do that? You fell into pon farr and ran off with some athlete you have desired and threw me aside. Then after you took care of your biological needs; I was driven into plak tow and slew him. I was almost injured unto death in the process. Only then did you decide I was good enough."

"That's not true!" she exclaimed. "I wanted you to win. When I saw you were nearly mad with the blood fever-" She looked down and whispered, "…I am a fool."

"At least we agree on that point." growled Siegfried. "You've said your piece and I've said mine. Just go."

"Let us talk to my Parents and your Grandparents." said T'Rel. "Surely there is a logical way we can work this out."

"Do what you want T'Rel, I no longer care." answered the blonde.

She said desperately, "I'll go into space with you."

His eyes crackled with chakra. "…What?"

"I'll join Starfleet so we can always be together." she stated.

Siegfried shook his head. "You are terrified of space travel."

"I, I'll overcome it if I can be with you." said T'Rel.

"Then you are even more of fool than I thought." said the platinum blonde. "Get out. This conversation is over."

After T'Rel left and went back to her room, she broke down and quietly cried in grief…

T'Ara and Sovar's House

T'Ara was curled up with Sovar in their bed. He had been explaining everything to her about what had happened with Siegfried in her absence. "…And worst of all, Starfleet wouldn't let me contact you directly due to wartime regulations." said Sovar. "I sent out a message but clearly you have yet to receive it."

"Messages are running approximately two months behind throughout the fleet." said T'Ara. "To think T'Rel… The thought has crossed my mind to choke that girl for what she has done to our grandson, however illogical it may seem."

Sovar kissed her forehead and said, "It did mine as well, but Siegfried is handling the situation in a logical manner. He sought out the High Priestess Lorian at the ShiKahr Temple to give him guidance and that calmed him a great deal. I am very proud of him."

"As am I." replied T'Ara. "Still, he will need our support throughout this trying time."

Stardate 2282.227, ShiKahr District, Vulcan Science Academy, T'Rel's Room

The next morning, T'Rel Mihn was speaking to her parents Ayhan and Balev over the video screen. "I spoke to Siegfried last night and he is enraged at me for what I did… I realize how foolish I was to run off with Chu'lak Stonn… I never wanted Siegfried to be hurt. I thought he would accept me after the kal-if-fee but I fear he hates me. Please lend me your advice. How can I make it up to him?"

Ayhan looked dumbfounded but T'Rel's Father Balev said, "As your parents we worked hard to find a suitable mate to betroth you to as a child. We thought that you would bring each other harmony and a meaningful and deep relationship… But you destroyed that with your actions T'Rel. I can think of no way to correct this problem."

The young Vulcan woman looked at Ayhan longingly and asked, "Mother, do you have any advice?"

T'Rel's Mother said, "My suggestion would be to move on. You've lost your chance with Siegfried M'Fau. Chasing after him will only prolong the pain for both of you."

"But I love Siegfried, Mother." replied T'Rel.

"Then you should have thought of that before you ran away with Chu'lak, my daughter." said Ayhan. "I wish there was a way I could fix this problem for you but there is not…"

Siegfried's Room

T'Ara M'Fau went to see her grandson early in the morning after calling ahead to make sure he was up. "You don't know how much it pleases me to see you Grandmother." said the blonde. "Grandfather's spirits were lifted greatly when he said you were coming home. He and I have both missed you."

She gave a tiny smile as her onyx eyes scrutinized the blonde carefully, "You've grown taller Siegfried. You seem to have put on a little muscle mass too despite your recent wounds."

"Grandfather told you, did he?" asked the platinum blonde sadly.

"You know there are no secrets between your Grandfather and I. That is how mates should be." She said, "You do not know how regretful I am about your pon farr. There were many other choices for betrothal but T'Rel…"

"You know I don't blame you and Grandfather or her parents." stated Siegfried. "The responsibility for this… disaster lies solely upon T'Rel Mihn's shoulders. I showed her my pain, and she claims that she will even follow me into space if it will convince me to take her back. I told her she was a fool."

T'Ara nodded. "Know that your Grandfather and I are always here to listen if you ever need our help. You have taken the most logical course of action Siegfried. You can find a new mate in the future."

They heard the morning school chime and he hugged T'Ara. "I must get to class Grandmother. I love you and Grandfather both." With that he picked up his tablet and departed for class…

She thought, 'I meant to bring up his computer theorem also… Well, his wellbeing is far more important in my mind. Whether he is a genius or not, he will always be my grandchild first.'

Stardate 2282.232, ShiKahr City, T'Ara and Sovar's House

The rest of the week was very busy for Siegfried as he was overloaded with homework. Truthfully, he was glad for it as it kept him away from T'Rel and thinking about her and his pon farr. When the weekend finally rolled around, the fifteen-year-old blonde decided to blow off his homework by making two shadow clones to do it for him.

The platinum blonde went back to ShiKahr City to his Grandparent's house before dawn and opened the garage. There sat his Father Naruto's beautifully restored, crimson red VST-220R in all its glory… Siegfried knew it was off limits but always wanted to ride it. Beside it sat his own speeder bike under a protective tarp.

The platinum blonde stripped off the tarp revealing a shiny black VST-800R custom. It was a design that was retro styled with an ion engine much like Naruto's bike had. The VST-800R was big. It was agile. Above all else it was fast. It had been love at first sight for the young Vulcan hybrid and he was thrilled when Sovar got him one for his fourteenth birthday a year later.

Sometimes Siegfried would go out and ride for hours when he needed to be alone and think. Leaving a note on the table for T'Ara and Sovar that he would be back safely that evening, the young hybrid slipped on his insulated black suit and helmet before blasting off into the desert to race through the wilderness and forget about life for a while…

Around noon, Siegfried stopped and ate near the Forge to replenish his fluids and fill his stomach. As he finished his small meal the platinum blonde heard a large crashing sound and saw a pillar of smoke rising about five kilometers away. Deciding that it would be logical to investigate, he broke out his macro binoculars and scanned the area where the smoke was coming from. There he saw another speeder bike that was badly wrecked.

Hopping on his VST-800R, Siegfried raced off to the crash site…

It was only a few minutes later that the blonde found someone he knew from ShiKahr primary school, an always rowdy young Vulcan named Radak Sofek. Radak's speeder was demolished and smoking, but the young brown-haired Vulcan had crawled away from the crash. He was obviously hurt and bleeding some when Siegfried came roaring up on his own speeder.

Radak was a bit out of it when he saw Siegfried take off his helmet revealing his platinum blonde hair. "Ziggy is that you?" asked the young Vulcan in confusion.

Siegfried came over and said, "I stopped using that name years ago Radak. Let me examine you for injuries."

"Why couldn't it have been a beautiful nurse instead of you, Ziggy?" asked Radak clearly out of his head.

The young hybrid sighed a few minutes later. "Your injuries aren't life threatening as far as I can tell but the gash on your head is bad. I've stopped the bleeding but I'm taking you to the hospital. We're far enough out in the desert that a medical unit will take longer to get here than it would be for me to drive you back to ShiKahr City."

The blonde recovered Radak's helmet and helped the injured teen onto the back of his VST-800R. After strapping his injured passenger in place, Siegfried hit the accelerator and called ahead to the ShiKahr City Hospital to expect them.

Radak said deliriously, "I heard you killed the Lirpa Champ in a kal-if-fee for touching what's yours. Good on you man. How'd you do it?"

"I'd rather not discuss it." replied the blonde.

The brown-haired teen whined, "But I wanna know Ziggy."

Siegfried relented and said, "I used a kareel-ifla death strike and killed him."

"Is that the one that pulps all your internal organs?" asked Radak.

The blonde nodded, "Yes."

Radak's loony reply was, "Daaammmnnn…"

The two continued their odd conversation until they reached the hospital where the medical staff was waiting. Radak's family was there within the hour.

Siegfried was soon outside the hospital talking to his Grandparents on his communicator. "…So I am up at the hospital with Radak's family. I want to make sure he is alright."

T'Ara asked over the communicator, "Do you need us to come up there?"

"No, I've seen Radak much worse than this." answered the blonde. "He is the one who was always getting into fights when he and I were children."

"I remember him now." replied his Grandmother. "You two became friends after you got in a brawl with him and had to put him in his place. I hope he has matured since then."

Siegfried cringed a bit. "I suppose that is a matter of perspective." He saw Radak's parents waving him over and said, "I will call you back later Grandmother. His parents are calling me."

"Keep us updated." said T'Ara. After that she signed off.

Radak was sleeping peacefully, and the medical doctors had patched him up. The blonde hybrid heard the doctor informing the injured young Vulcan's parents that they were going to keep Radak overnight for observation, but they felt he would make a full recovery.

Then Siegfried was invited in and saw Radak was black and blue but otherwise appeared to be alright. Radak's Mother said, "We don't know how to thank you Ziggy."

"Please address me as Siegfried." said the blonde. "I have not used the childhood nickname of Ziggy in years."

"Well Ziggy, we owe you a great debt for saving our son's life." she said totally missing what Siegfried just said. Then her husband joined in the conversation and started addressing him as Ziggy also.

'By the gods, I thought Radak was just uncouth, but it seems to be genetic.' thought Siegfried. 'Is it because they were originally from Raal?'

"…Maybe this will convince him to stop trying to join the Le-matyas." said Radak's Father. "A speeder bike can be dangerous if you don't know how to handle it."

Siegfried was a bit confused. "What do hunting animals such as Le-matyas have to do with speeder bikes? Please clarify."

Radak's Mother explained, "ShiKahr has a new speeder bike racing team that split off from the group in Raal. They go by the team name The Le-matyas."

"I see." replied the blonde. "I was unaware of their existence."

"They are easy to spot Ziggy. They have bright green and yellow Le-matyas embroidered on the backs of their insulated suits." said Radak's Father.

Siegfried asked, "Why is Radak so interested in joining this group?"

"His cousin S'Harien is the Le-matya's leader and Radak idolizes her." answered Radak's Mother. "They are a little rough around the edges but are good young people."

'Sounds like a good group to avoid.' thought the hybrid. 'If Radak's family considers them rough…'

After bidding Radak's family farewell, Siegfried put on his helmet and went outside to his speeder bike only to find it was surrounded by Vulcans in black insulated bike riding gear with green and yellow Le-matyas on their backs. He wanted to cringe…

"It is very impressive," said a male. "This a genuine VST-800R."

A female was kneeling while looking at Siegfried's bike with and expert eye. "Not only that, the airbrakes and thrusters have been customized to decrease the turn radius. Whoever did this not only knows performance but aesthetics as well."

As the conversation continued, Siegfried grew impatient. He wanted to go home. Finally, he said, "Excuse me gentle beings but I need to get to my speeder bike. I have places to go."

One of the males smirked and said, "You don't look big or strong enough to handle a big bike like this one."

The female stood up and Siegfried couldn't help but notice how beautiful the tall girl was, She hair dark brown, almost black, long hair and unusual reddish-brown eyes. She said to the male, "Come on Dvir, move so the guy can get to his bike."

The now named Dvir was obstinate though and crossed his arms, "Make me."

'I don't have time for this needless posturing.' thought the blonde. "Very well." he said. Dvir was shocked when Siegfried grabbed the large man by the collar of his insulated suit with one hand, picked him up and set him aside with ease.

The group took a collective step back seeing Siegfried hadn't put out any effort at all. He got on his bike and the tall girl said, "I'm S'Harien Sofek, leader of the Le-matyas."

'So, this is Radak's cousin S'Harien. He probably admires her for her beauty,' thought the blonde as he admired her curvaceous, very physically fit frame. Then he felt a bit guilty as T'Rel's image flashed in his mind. The blonde said, "I am Siegfried M'Fau."

"Whoa." said S'Harien. "You're Ziggy? Aunt and Uncle said you saved Radak's skin. I owe you a major debt for saving his life."

"It was the logical thing to do." replied Siegfried. "I found him crashed in the dunes out between ShiKahr City and the Forge. He was injured so I brought him back here."

S'Harien looked irritated and said, "I told him not to ride out there. As much as I am fond of my cousin, he isn't cut out for racing. Can you take us to the crash site Ziggy? We need to see if we can retrieve his bike." Then the beautiful girl started introducing her friends to Siegfried and finished with, "…and this big guy you, uh, moved is Dvir."

Dvir was kind of embarrassed and asked, "How did you get that strong?"

Siegfried took off his helmet showing his long, platinum blonde locks, whisker marks and ice blue eyes. "I'm a Vulcan hybrid. My physical strength comes naturally."

'He's gorgeous.' thought S'Harien with a green blush. "Ummm, are those facial marks tattoos? They look good on you Ziggy."

"They are birthmarks from my Father's side." He let out a tiny sigh. 'I guess these people are going to address me as Ziggy, too.'

Dvir noticed his team leader was blushing green as she stared at Siegfried. 'I've never seen her look that way before…' he thought. "So, Ziggy, what were you doing out near the Forge anyway?"

"That's where I always ride." answered the blonde. "It gives one a sense of solitude. Come, I will show you the crash site. You'll probably need a trailer for the wreckage."

S'Harien snapped out of her daze and shook her head, "It's that bad?" Seeing Siegfried nod she motioned to one of the other members of the team, "Get the flatbed so we can salvage Radak's bike."

Siegfried contacted Sovar and T'Ara to update them on things so they would know he would be coming home late.

S'Harien came over and said, "We've got the flatbed if you want to lead us out there. You can go as fast as you want." she added with a smirk. "The Le-matyas are professional racers unlike Radak."

The blonde's mind drifted back to his childhood when Rafi would put him in a flight simulator and would say "Light it up, Ziggy!" Siegfried's ice blue eyes met her reddish-brown ones. "Try to keep up." he said.

She nodded eagerly as everyone put on their helmets and gave a small salute to show they were ready. Then S'Harien pointed to Siegfried in a 'go' motion and he took off like a bat out of hell…

The platinum blonde watched his scope and his mirrors as he shot effortlessly across the wilderness and left the Le-matyas trailing behind in the dust. It wasn't a real race per se, but Siegfried was enjoying himself immensely, nevertheless. When he came to a halt S'Harien was the first to arrive a minute later. The rest arrived about ten minutes after that. The flatbed was trailing behind by fifteen minutes.

S'Harien had a wild look of exhilaration in her reddish eyes when she opened her visor. She said to the blonde, "That was some dynamic riding Ziggy." Then Siegfried pointed to the burnt-out wreckage the was once Radak's speeder bike and her face fell. "What a mess…" she commented.

It took about two hours for the team to gather all the debris up. Siegfried pulled the mainframe out of the sand and set the mangled bike on the back of the flatbed. Dvir shook his head. "This one is going to the scrapheap. It's a miracle Radak wasn't killed."

That's when they heard a roar. A real Le-matya was prowling the area and the racing group was afraid of the beast. S'Harien pulled a stun rifle off the flatbed and said, "Everybody get back.' 'This thing looks hungry and dangerous...'

Then the blonde smothered the area in killing intent and glared at the creature. The big hunting animal retreated quickly after that. S'Harien had stars in her eyes and Dvir thought, 'This Ziggy guy is something else…'

POSTSCRIPT:

Well, it seems that Siegfried has made some new (albeit odd) friends. They are a bit more rough and tumble than average Vulcans so I gave them a few more humanesque language traits (They are not emotionalists). Next chapter we will continue with Siegfried's story with sprinklings of Naruto's. See you next time, Blue out. 10/7/23
