Episode 5: "Rise of the Resistance"
[The Final Dreamers gather in Vash Naroom, preparing for their next adventure.]
Orwin: Where are you heading next?
Strag: It says the next closest is in the deeps of Orothe.
Tony: Oh, cool! That's one of my favorites.
Edyn: [mumbles under breath] Oh, I wonder why?
Tony: What was that, Edyn?
Edyn: Oh, nothing! [blushing slightly]
Spencer: Ah, Orothe! Haven't been back there in a while.
Tony: Grandpa, why don't you come with us?
Spencer: Oh, I don't know.
[Orwin smiles at Spencer, encouraging him to join.]
Spencer: Ok. Why not? These old bones still have something left! Come on.
[The gang boards the Paradwyn sea turtle and sets off for Orothe.]
Spencer: Ah, I remember these deep clear oceans like it was yesterday.
Tony: Can't wait to meet everyone again.
Strag: You and me both.
[Upon arriving in Orothe, they are greeted with a warm reception.]
Orothians: Look! It's Spencer Jones and The Final Dreamers!
Spencer: Hello, everyone. It's great to be back.
Tony: Looks like they haven't forgotten you!
Voice behind them: And I haven't forgotten you, Mr. Tony Jones.
[Tony turns to see Trup'tika, a familiar face.]
Tony: TRUP'TIKA!
Trup'tika: TONY!
[They embrace with excitement.]
Tony: I've missed you!
Trup'tika: I've missed you more, bestie!
[Edyn rolls her eyes sarcastically and with jealousy.]
Trup'tika: So what are you doing here?
Strag: We're here to find the new Orothian dreamstone. Any idea where it might be?
Trup'tika: I'm not exactly sure. Maybe you can ask Borse.
Tony: Any idea where he is?
Trup'tika: Last I heard, he was heading to the Caw's cage.
Tony: Ok, then. We'll check there. You coming, Grandpa?
Spencer: Oh, I think I'll explore the city a bit. I can see it's changed a lot.
Trup'tika: Don't worry, little man. I'll look after him.
Tony: [teasingly] And how do I know I can trust you, hmm?
Trup'tika: [playfully punches him in the arm] Haha, very funny!
Edyn: Uh, Tony, we have somewhere to be!?
Tony: OK, OK, I'm coming. See you later.
Trup'tika: Bye. [blows Tony a kiss]
[The Final Dreamers transform into their fish gear and head towards the Caw's cage.]
Strag: Is everything OK, Edyn? You seem a little stressed.
Edyn: Well, yeah.
Strag: Are you sure? Is it because you're jealous of Tony and Trup'tika?
Edyn: Shut up! I am not!
Strag: [laughs] I saw you roll your eyes, Edyn.
Edyn: OK, fine, I am. It's just that I see Trup'tika as a sister, and we both want each other to be happy. It's just that she likes the guy that I also like. It's just that I wish I could tell Tony how I felt.
Strag: Tell him how you feel before it's too late. You won't know otherwise.
Edyn: Maybe.
[They arrive at the Caw's cage and meet Borse, who is clearly worried.]
Tony: Borse!
Borse: Tony.
Tony: Is everything OK?
Borse: I don't know. Is Furok with you?
Tony: Um, yes.
Borse: OK, summon him.
[Tony summons Furok.]
Tony: With this anamite I imagine Furok!
[Furok appears.]
Furok: Oh great. The one realm where I can't swim.
Borse: OK, good. What's been happening?
Borse: About an hour ago, a shadow creature that looked exactly like Furok attacked the Caw and took the dreamstone.
Tony: A Shadow Furok?
[Strag instantly thinks back to the battle with Shadow Freep.]
Strag: Tony, I encountered this yesterday in Vash Naroom. A shadow version of Freep came towards me and delivered me with the sacrifice.
Edyn: What was it?
Strag: He said that if I destroyed him, I risk myself destroying Freep since they're the same.
Tony: Wow, I bet Agram created them.
Borse: The Caw is too frightened to come out and fight, so we'll keep guard until Shadow Furok returns.
[Suddenly, Shadow Furok appears!]
Shadow Furok: [sadistic laugh] Did I hear my name?
Borse: YOU!
Strag and Edyn: With this anamite I imagine...
Edyn: Ugger!
Strag: Freep!
[Freep and Ugger appear.]
Freep: WHO'S NOGGIN NEEDS KNOCKING!
Ugger: Let's do it!
Borse: With this anamite, I imagine Aquadon!
[Aquadon appears.]
Ugger: Root Reach!
[Ugger uses Root Reach, but Shadow Furok blocks it easily.]
Ugger: WHAT?
Strag: Freep, Slammersault!
[Freep tries Slammersault, but Shadow Furok knocks him out.]
Freep: YOW!
Borse: Aquadon! Engulfing Aqua Bubble!
[Aquadon attempts to trap Shadow Furok, but fails.]
Shadow Furok: DARK PLASMA BLAST!
Ugger: AH!
Freep: YOW!
Shadow Furok: You guys aren't strong enough! I've defeated all of you!
Tony: Except us!
Furok: So you've been causing Orothe trouble, huh?
Shadow Furok: Because no one here is a Nightmare Creature, and I hate non-Nightmare Creatures!
Tony: Well, you're gonna pay! Furok, Color Blast!
[Furok's attack is absorbed by Shadow Furok.]
Shadow Furok: Haven't you forgotten? I can absorb any attack! And now I'll finish you!
[Shadow Furok launches a Dark Color Blast towards Furok.]
Tony: [jumping in front of Furok] Well, then you'll have to take me!
Edyn, Strag, Borse, and Furok: TONY, NO!
[The attack hits.]
[Shadow Furok thinks he has Tony, but a small faint light emerges from the smoke.]
Edyn: Wait, is that?
Strag: I think it is!
[Tony emerges with silver blue Dream Armour and a sword in his right hand with the imprint of Furok's face at the front.]
Tony: Woah! What is this?
Furok: I dunno, but this is next level crazy power!
Tony: Furok? Where are you?
Furok: I'm in the sword, use me for attacks! One slash will get him worried.
Shadow Furok: No, this can't be!
[Tony attempts to use the sword to attack Shadow Furok and it connects, knocking him back.]
Shadow Furok: OW!
Tony: You won't hurt any of my friends!
Shadow Furok: Fine, take the dreamstone! This ain't over, boy! [and he departs]
Tony: Wow, cool! [as he and Furok unfuse]
Edyn: Are you OK, Tony?
[Tony suddenly faints as if he had run a marathon.]
Tony: [drowsily] I think I'm out of energy.
[Spencer and Trup'tika arrive.]
Spencer: TONY! What happened?
Borse: Let's just say we encountered a Shadow Furok and Tony got new Dream Armour.
Trup'tika: [worried] Is he gonna be OK?
Edyn: [with an envious voice] He'll be fine. Come on, Tony. Evu will make you better.
[Back in Vash Naroom, Tony rests in bed while being helped by Evu.]
Edyn: Will he be OK?
Strag: [teasing] Well, someone's worried.
[Edyn glares at Strag.]
Evu: Yes, yes. He'll be fine. He's low on energy, so I'll give him something to help him sleep.
[About an hour later, Edyn comes to check on Tony.]
Edyn: Hey, Tony, you still asleep?
[Tony doesn't respond, just snores a bit.]
Edyn: [giggles] Guess that's a yes. Look, there's something I've been meaning to tell you for a while. I guess I'm too scared to say it when you're awake, but... I really, really like you, Tony. You're always so kind to me, you make me laugh, especially when I don't expect it, and you're always so brave and courageous. I just want you to know that I'm always going to be there for you. [She kisses him on the cheek] Good Night.
[The scene fades as Tony sleeps peacefully, unaware of Edyn's confession.]
