Seeing that the threat was over and that Lancex had headed off, Optimus went to check on the bot to make sure he was truly fine after the battle he had had. Others meandered elsewhere on the base, leaving Skyfire and Ultra Magnus waiting. Well, the didn't have to wait but both wanted to speak with Aquaformer but had to wait until she finished talking with Hide. "You waiting around for a reason, Skyfire?" Ultra Magnus asked.
"What does it matter to you if I am? I have freedom to be where I choose to be" Skyfire shot back.
Ultra Magnus looked at the shuttle, a bit of jealousy stirring up inside the bot. "So can I" Ultra Magnus retorted.
Skyfire, though not liking that Ultra Magnus seemed to be competition, shot back with, "if you are so interested in Aquaformer, you may want to know she is not like typical femmes. Who is to say she would want a 'full of myself macho mech' to pursue her?" Magnus didn't like the dig that he was "too full of himself."
"Well, who's to say she would want a big old softy like you?" Magnus shot back. Skyfire shot the bot a look but decided not to retort as Aquaformer had finally finished talking with hide and was heading for the two of them.
"Something I can help you with, boys?" She bluntly asked, as she had noticed both of them staring at her, though she wasn't sure why. She didn't figure she would ever find a mate or mates as most mechs ran or drove her off when she tried, so she had kind of given up hope, though not completely.
Both just stared at her for a bit. "Umm" Came out of Magnus's mouth. Skyfire didn't reply to the question at all, caught a bit off guard.
"You know, I'm tired. Can one of you find me a berth to rest in?" She asked, she wasn't one usually one to ask for help but she didn't know the base well yet. And she had a bit of a processor ache.
"Sure" they both side before colliding into each other. She sighed, as this seemed plain embarrassing and annoying.
Meanwhile, as Aquaformer tried to wait for either oaf to help her, Optimus made his way back to the berth room that Lancex had been shown to by Skyfire. Optimus, though not sure fully why, felt compelled to check on the bot. He chalked it up to he was Prime and each soldier was his responsibility in a way.
But once Optimus entered the quarters, he found a shocking surprise. In front the room where Lancex was resting Grimlock stood guard. This bothered Optimus for some reason, though he thought it shouldn't have. He tried to get to see Lancex. "No enter, me Grimlock guard!"
"Grimlock, I mean no harm. I was merely checking to see if he was okay, as he was just involved in battle" Optimus said, though his spark felt like it was more than that.
"Him sleeping. Me guard. You no enter. He mine" Grimlock replied, unwilling to budge from where he was. Optimus conceded for now, as it was safer for Lancex. The Prime always figured that there would be another time to try and get to know Lancex.
