As the others were getting confronted by various bots, Aquaformer and Lancex were in the med bay. Lancex was practically all fixed up while Ratchet was working on the femme commander. She wasn't making it easy as some spots were painful. "Remember what you told me, Aquaformer. If you let the medic do his job and don't fight, it will be over sooner."
Aquaformer grimaced as Ratchet hit a particularly sore spot. "Easier said than….OW….done" she called out. Ratchet was trying his best to fix her, but he also only, had primative tools.
"How did your thrusters get hit so bad?" Lancex and Ratchet asked.
"No clue. But it explains why I nearly crashed" Aquaformer retorted. She wasn't completely sure but something nagged at her. "I hope it was at least enemy fire."
"Why would it be anything else?" Lancex asked.
"Well meaning allies could have poor aim" she shot back. If it happened, it wouldn't have been the first time for her, but that still didn't make her happy.
"Come on, they have a training room, multiple training rooms. How could a bot be so illtrained that he shoots her own team member?" Lancex asked. He did have a point.
"Team members who somehow get distracted don't always pay attention like they should. Wouldn't be the first time it happened to me" Aquaformer mentioned.
"I guess you got it there. I can't believe how the Prime fought. I had to step in to stop a well aimed shot and that was how I got hurt" Lancex mentioned.
"Why would Optimus be off his game?" Ratchet asked.
"No clue, but it doesn't make sense. A Prime should be the best bot out there" Lancex said.
"But even so, the Prime is only a bot. He is not perfect" Aquaformer offered up, Ratceht having finally finished the painful repairs.
"I guess that goes with any bot" Lancex responded, and then thought about something jazz told Lancex. "Hey, Aquaformer, why did you help me? You didn't know me. I don't understand."
"Because I was not always a commander. It was forced upon me. I worked in the med bay as I wanted to help other bots. It always felt it was my calling, to help those who needed help the most. And giving those bots a chance to reach their full potential" Aquaformer answered, her sincerity clear as day.
Lancex nodded, that explained a lot, he thought. "Alright, back to rest with you two. I will have Optimus check in with you two later to see when you can get back into the fray" Ratchet announced as he discharged the two. Both nodded, and seeing that Aquaformer was still recovering, Lancex helped her to her berth as she had helped him so much already, not realizing that they were seen by Grimlock, Skyfire and Ultra Magnus as Lancex and Aquaformer headed back to the spare quarters they had been assigned to. And while Skyfire thought little of it, Magnus and Grimlock were not exactly happy. Things had started getting tense and interesting around the base, that much was for sure.
