A few days later, when all from the last fight had seemed to settle, Ultra Magnus went to approach Aquaformer. But finding her was harder than he thought. She seemed to keep busy with various things. But then he heard she was out in her grounder mode and so he took off. He hoped he could convince her to return as going out alone wasn't always safe. Little did he realize she was a feircely independent femme.
Then, suddenly, he caught up to her. He wasn't sure how, but he had found her. "What do you want?" She shot across the comm. She felt he was distracting her, though she wasn't sure why she felt that way.
"Merely to talk to you" Magnus replied, clearly not expecting the biting question she shot off, but should have expected.
"Talk gets you killed in the field" she replied, her mind trying to focus on her task. Ultra Magnus was forced to admit she had a point. The silently continued on until she reached what she had sought and then returned to the base.
"Now, what was it you wanted to discuss?" Aquaformer asked, clearly annoyed as she had to use her shields to guard another bot and she was low on energon. That often left her crabby.
"What is with you and Lancex?" Magnus suddenly asked, having scene the pair in the hallway.
"We are merely friends. Why does it concern you?" Aquaformer asked, sensing jealousy for some reason. She didn't get it, as there was nothing to be jealous of.
"You're friends? Nothing more?" Magnus asked, wanting to know for sure.
"Not that it concerns you, but yes" she asked before walking off. Between feeling annoyed and low on energon, she didn't have the time or energy to put up with bots that acted stupid.
"Well, that certainly went well" a voice soon sarcastically commented after Aquaformer left. It was Skyfire. "You certainly have a way with femmes."
Ultra Magnus shot the shuttle a look. "Like you could do better."
"Just give me a bit and I will far surpass your lackluster attempt" Skyfire said, both unaware that Lancex had overheard them. Lancex wasn't exactly sure what he was hearing, but he felt that as a friend he should make sure he kept an extra optic out for Aquaformer. She didn't really need it, he figured, but it couldn't hurt.
