Seeing that Aquaformer was asleep, Lancex headed out. He wanted to see what other bots thought of the femme. He found Optimus in his office, and Optimus was of the opinion that she was a good soldier but could be a wildcard at times. Lancex nodded, not realizing his visit set something off in the Prime's old spark. Lancex then went to talk to a few other bots.
He quickly found Jazz and Mirage. Jazz was surprisingly already bonded to another bot named Prowl and only was interested in a friendship with the friend, and also stated Prowl was keeping clear of the femme as she liked finding loop holes in some of his rules. Mirage stated she was a good soldier and a friend but nothing more. The more bots Lancex talked to, it seemed like he was finding out that Aquaformer was right to feel as she did. But he held out hope, as there were still more bots out there.
Then Lancex found Skyfire, relaxing in the rec room. "Hi Skyfire" Lancex announced.
"Hi, Lancex. What brings you here?" Skyfire asked.
"Well, I want to help my friend. She is under the belief that no one will ever want her are more than a friend. She deserves something better than that" Lancex said.
"Well, Aquaformer is a femme of many talents. She has a good spark and she tries her best, even when no one is watching. I think she deserves more than just friends as well" Skyfire piped up, his interest in the femme starting to show, though he hoped that Lancex didn't notice.
Lancex noticed, but said nothing about it. "Well, thank you for your insight. I need to go talk to more bots. With all the mechs here, some bot or bots should want her as more than a friend" Lancex mentioned as he left.
Bot or bots…Skyfire thought as Lancex left. That part struck Skyfire hard. Was it possible that Aquaformer needed more than one mech as her mate? That made the shuttle pause a bit before he headed out. He was going to look for Ultra Magnus to talk to the bot.
Meanwhile, Lancex had spoken with Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Windcharger, Huffer, Ultra Magnus and several other bots, with only Magnus showing any sign of possibly liking the femme as more than a friend. Lancex hid that away, but just to be thorough, he sought out more bots.
At that time, while Skyfire was looking to find Ultra Magnus, Aquaformer woke and headed out, her systems sensing that something was going to happen and so she headed out.
It all came to a head when Skyfire, Ultra Magnus and Aquaformer arrived where Lancex was quietly talking with Wheeljack and Cosmos, as well as Jazz again, as the bot had been talking with the other two after talking with Lancex previously. Unaware that they were being watched by a very possessive bot, Wheeljack, Cosmos, and Jazz found themselves under attack from Grimlock, who had mistakenly thought all these bots were a threat.
Stupidly or not, Skyfire and Ultra Magnus merely watched the goings on while Aquaformer called Optimus. Only he would be able to sort this mess. What exactly was going on as the base had gone nuts since Lancex and Aquaformer arrived? Only time would tell.
