Spirit World: Portal Area
Korra, Sasuke, Mako, Bolin, Kiba, Lee, Shikamaru, and Neji watched on in shock as Vaatu floated above them. He manically laughed at his freedom while Unalaq looked on in amazement at the dark spirit.
"Did he just call you Indra, Sasuke?" Kiba asked.
"I think Sasuke's the reincarnation of Indra." Korra said.
"Why would that be?" Sasuke asked.
"We'll figure it out later." Korra stated. "Right now, we must lock Vaatu up again."
"Raava, Indra, nothing could stop this moment." Vaatu declared. "Harmonic Convergence is upon us again."
Sasuke immediately began flashing through a series of hand signs.
"You're not fusing with Unalaq." Korra declared fiercely. "You're going right back in that prison!"
Mere words spoken would not prevent Vaatu from trying.
"He's trying to fuse with Unalaq!" Kiba shouted.
"He will not!" Sasuke finished his hand signs. "Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!"
From the nearby source of water, a dragon made from it emerged. It slammed into the dark spirit with enough force to at least force a momentary retreat. In this moment, Korra entered the Avatar State and lifted her uncle with Airbending before tossing him out the portal.
"Don't let Unalaq back in the Spirit World." Korra ordered.
"We're on it." Bolin declared as he, and the Konoha Shinobi rushed through the portal.
"Sasuke, go with them." Korra ordered.
"No, I'm staying." Sasuke retorted. "He wants to kill me, so I'll help you take him down."
"Fine, just be careful." Korra said.
Vaatu flew at the pair. Korra entered the Avatar State while Sasuke activated his Sharingan, and the two charged the dark spirit.
Lush Forest
Tenzin, Bumi, and Kakashi were searching for Jinora.
"Jinora! Jinora's spirit, can you hear me!? It's your Uncle Bumi!" Bumi called out.
"This isn't working." Tenzin sighed. "We can't just randomly wander the Spirit World, call out for Jinora, and expect to find her."
"Good point." Bumi nodded. "What we need is to employ the simply rules of tracking. First, we locate her footprints. Then, we follow them."
"Firstly, that doesn't account for if a spirit can even make footprints." Kakashi reasoned. "Secondly, it's a moot point as even if they could, Korra told us she was taken by a spirit that could fly."
"Kakashi is right." Tenzin stated. "We can't do this by ourselves. We need a spirit guide." The three of them arrived before a hole in a trunk of a large tree which has a glowing star within. "Spirit, hello. I'm sorry to disturb you, but I'm in need of your assistance."
"You dare awake me, human?" The spirit was a giant spider scorpion with red eyes and fangs. "Humans in the Spirit World belong in one place!"
The spirit charged the three men.
Kakashi wove through his hand signs. "Earth Style: Mud Wall Jutsu!" He'd created a mud wall just as the creature reached them, resulting in it crashing head first into it. "Move!"
They booked it out of there as while Kakashi could theoretically fight this spirit, that wasn't the current objective.
Portal Area
"Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!" Sasuke shouted.
Sasuke breathed out multiple, small projectiles of fire while Korra Earth, Water, Fire, and Airbent at Vaatu. The spirit avoided everything until the Uchiha maneuvered some wire clenched in his hands. As the Jutsu he used dissipated, it revealed the shuriken he'd put within it.
With their attached wires, he pulled them into Vaatu's back while imbuing them with his Chidori. While this did eat away at some of the dark spirit, he was quick to regenerate and wrap his tail around Sasuke. The Uchiha substituted himself with a rock to get out of there.
Korra capitalized on the moment by striking the spirit with her Waterbending. She then utilized Air Bending to get some height and spun herself before unleashing a massive fire blast that tore through a section of Vaatu's head.
Sasuke was behind Vaatu as he completed another set of hand signs. "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"
His fire tore a section from Vaatu's body, but he regenerated. The spirit was just as quick to turn around and unleash a powerful purple beam at them. Both were hit and sent crashing into a giant rock. Vaatu then glowed purple as vines came from the ground to restrain the pair.
"No!" Korra shouted.
"Dammit!" Sasuke yelled.
South Pole
Mako, Bolin, Kiba, Lee, Neji, and Shikamaru stood near the portal, keeping watch for Unalaq.
"It's no use." Neji had his Byakugan activated. "Their Chakra Armor is managing to keep him hidden from even my sight."
"Maybe he quit and went home." Bolin said hopefully.
"Don't be stupid, Bolin." Shikamaru dashed his hopes. "There's no way he'd give up after everything he's done to get here."
Akamaru's ears rose, and he barked.
"Bolin, wall!" Kiba yelled.
Bolin immediately came over and rose up a wall of earth to block ice spikes fired their way. Once the attack ceased, Mako Firebent in that direction. Things were quiet for a moment before more ice spikes came from the opposite direction.
Neji got in their path and spun in place. "Palm Rotation!"
He unleashed Chakra from his tenketsu points and generated the dome which fended off the ice.
"I don't know if we can win this fight." Bolin said.
"We don't need to beat him to win." Shikamaru voiced. "Our path to victory is ensuring Unalaq does not enter this portal."
Lush Forest
Tenzin, Bumi, and Kakashi were wandering around the forest as they walked past a mushroom.
"We're walking in circles." Tenzin declared. "I've seen that same spirit mushroom five times."
"That's not the same mushroom." Bumi retorted.
"Yes I am." The spirit mushroom voiced.
"See?" Tenzin questioned. "Even it knows we're lost."
"Oh, sure." Bumi was annoyed. "Listen to a fungus over your own brother."
"Quiet you two." Kakashi put a hand on their shoulder. "Something's coming this way."
They turned only to see it was Iroh with a knowledge seeker.
"Iroh?" Bumi asked shocked.
"How…? Where…? It's been so long." Tenzin said.
"Almost forty years." Iroh stated. "It's nice to see two of you, and always good to see someone new."
"How did you know we were here?" Tenzin asked.
"My friendly spirit fox told me you were lost, so I came to show you the way out." Iroh said.
"Iroh, we are grateful, but we're not looking for a way out." Tenzin informed. "We're looking for my daughter."
"I'm sorry to hear that, but you shouldn't be here." Iroh stated. "Vaatu has escaped, and darkness threatens to take over."
"Regardless of that fact, we cannot leave without Jinora." Kakashi stated.
"I understand, but I beg you to be careful." Iroh stated. "If you travel too deep into the Spirit World, you could end up in a place where only the lost will ever find you."
The three men looked at each other, only for Iroh to then be gone when they looked his way.
"A place where only the lost can find you?" Tenzin mulled that over before realizing the answer. "That's it! I know where to find Jinora!"
Portal Area
Sasuke and Korra were struggling to break free of the vines, but it was to no avail.
"You have become weak, Indra." Vaatu declared. "It will be easy for me to end your life."
"Shut up!" Sasuke yelled. "Don't underestimate me or OUR POWER!"
Korra breathed fire from her mouth at Vaatu, forcing him back, before burning away the vines entrapping her. Sasuke went straight to his Curse Mark State before lunging at the spirit with black lightning charged around his hand.
"Chidori Lament!" Sasuke exclaimed.
Just as Korra did prior, he tore another hole through Vaatu's face. The natural energy this mark exuded was huge in combating the spirit energy. Korra capitalized by just tearing into Vaatu's body with Waterbending.
Sasuke flew above Vaatu while weaving through hand signs. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
A massive fireball slammed down into Vaatu with enough force to send him crashing into the ground. Korra took the opportunity to Airbend the spirit into a sphere and followed in up with rings of fire, earth, and water. She was working to entrap him just as Wan had.
"I'm locking you away for another ten-thousand years, Vaatu!" The voices of Raava and the past Avatars were mixed with Korra's own.
She now started to push Vaatu back to the tree.
South Pole
Bolin had bent up sections of the earth which everyone hid behind to await another attack.
"This is strange." Lee noted. "We were constantly being barraged before only for nothing to come our way now."
"Unalaq, show yourself!" Kiba called.
"Is he even here anymore?" Neji asked.
Akamaru whined again, but before Kiba could speak up, the pair were suddenly hosed. As everyone looked that way, Bolin was suddenly drawn to Eska.
She was peeking at him from the other side of his rock. "Hello, my feeble turtle-duck."
The Earthbender screamed at this as he was hosed into his brother, both sent crashing down next to the currently unconscious Kiba. Shikamaru, Neji, and Rock Lee went back-to-back, in a triangle formation, as the twins stood on either side of them.
Before they could engage the twins, a massive blast of water was coming their way from the forest. The three conscious Konoha Shinobi vanished in a puff of smoke. Unalaq arrived atop a wave before pressing onto the portal immediately.
"Keep watch over them while ensuring the three who got away do not interfere." He ordered.
Unknown to them, Lee, Neji, and Shikamaru were on tree branches watching this.
Lush Forest
Tenzin took Bumi and Kakashi back to the tree.
"Are you sure this is the best way to find Jinora?" Bumi asked.
"Trust me." Tenzin Airbent into the tree. "Hey, you! Spirit, wake up!"
"You again!?" The spider scorpion spirit shouted.
It emerged and attacked the three men. The result was that they were trapped in the spirit's web and brought to a canyon with sharp rocks which was obscured by thick fog.
"What kind of prison is this?" Bumi asked.
"Welcome to the Fog of Lost Souls." The spirit informed. "You will never escape."
They were thrown in.
Portal Area
Korra almost managed to seal Vaatu; however, a surge of water slammed into her back, as well as Sasuke for good measure, which freed Vaatu. As the two were recovering, Unalaq immediately blasted them with more water, laying them out.
South Pole
Desna and Eska were dragging the unconscious Mako,Bolin, and Kiba.
"What about the rest of the Shinobi?" Desna asked.
"Forget them." Eska voiced. "They don't matter."
"Dynamic Entry!" Lee exclaimed.
Desna turned only to receive a foot to the face with more than enough strength to push him into Eska. Both were knocked back as the unconscious began to come to. Shikamaru and Neji joined the group, helping the unconscious up quickly.
"Portal, now!" Neji ordered.
Mako, Bolin, Lee, Kiba, Neji, and Shikamaru ran towards it.
Spirit World
The group arrived in the Spirit World where they saw Sasuke and Korra on the ground. As they group rushed to help them, Desna and Eska rushed into the portal after them.
Akamaru barked at this, getting Kiba's attention. "Company!"
"Stop!" Eska yelled.
Desna and Eska Waterbent at the group, managing to trap Mako, Bolin, Neji, and Lee. Due to Kiba's warning, he and Shikamaru managed to avoid sharing that fate.
Shikamaru now turned towards them while holding a hand sign. "Shadow Possession Jutsu!"
This stopped Desna and Eska in their tracks. Vaatu went for Unalaq as Sasuke was busy helping Korra up. The dark spirit entered the chief, briefly giving him the serpentine, dragon pattern on his chest and making his eyes orange-red.
"No!" Korra shouted.
Unalaq paid that no mind as he went to the Northern portal and touched it. Purple energy covered the chief, and he let out a dark energy from his mouth.
"Dammit!" Sasuke yelled.
"We are now one!" Unalaq declared. "Now, a new era for spirits and humans will begin! I will lead them all as the new Avatar!"
"Well, I'm the old Avatar, and my era's not over yet!" Korra declared.
"You two might have fused, but we're not stopping until you're out!" Sasuke yelled.
Korra and Sasuke charged Unalaq, who charged at them right back.
Fog of Lost Souls
Tenzin, Bumi, and Kakashi were wandering through the fog aimlessly.
"What kind of prison doesn't have bars or walls?" Bumi asked.
"The Fog of Lost Souls is a spirit prison for humans." Tenzin informed. "I read about it in
ancient text. The fog is a spirit that infects your mind and slowly drives you mad, imprisoning you in your own darkest memories."
"How long can we be trapped in here?" Kakashi asked.
Just then, A middle-aged man, with dark brown hair and sideburns, walked by while wearing Fire Nation armor. He looked mad.
"I am Zhao the Conqueror. I am the Moon Slayer. I will capture the Avatar! I am Zhao the Conqueror. I am the Moon Slayer. I will capture the Avatar!" Zhao repeated.
"Hopefully we're not trapped in here as long as that guy." Bumi commented.
"You!" Zhao had noticed Tenzin. "You're HIM! The last Airbender!"
He moved in to grab Tenzin, but Kakashi swept the man's feet before axe kicking him into the ground. The Jonin then signaled they should get out of there, so they ran.
"Come back, Avatar!" Zhao yelled. "Face me! I am Zhao the Conqueror! I will capture you! Victory is mine!"
Tenzin tied a rope around their waists. "If we stay together, we'll find Jinora and make it out."
South Pole
The two Avatars and Sasuke emerged from the portal. Korra was atop a vortex of air while Unalaq utilized a vortex of water. According to what Korra had to say, Wan traveled to acquire the three elements and Raava held them for him.
Unalaq and Vaatu obviously never went on the same journey. As such, he seemed to only have his water; the sheer strength granted to him as the axis shifted from order to chaos made up for this. With the Chakra Armor, he was able to fend Sasuke off, but neither would simply give up.
Sasuke quickly wove through hand signs. "Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
As he blew forth a massive sphere of fire, Korra Airbent behind it to increase its size and strength. Unalaq bent up the snow around it until the fire was extinguished. Korra then Earthbent rocks, but Unalaq sliced through them with water whips before getting them around the pair.
He froze the water around them before throwing the two into the snowy ground, leaving craters with their impact. The chief then landed and split the ice to send the pair falling into a fissure. He began to close it, trapping them within and moving to crush them.
"Give in!" Unalaq shouted. "Your time is over!"
"Damn it…" Sasuke struggled. "This can't be the end."
"Korra, this fight is not over." Raava spoke up.
"Raava…" Korra whispered.
"Vaatu cannot win." Raava continued. "Do not give in to ten-thousand years of darkness. You are the Avatar."
Korra's eyes lit up as she erupted with fire, which pushed Unalaq back. She emerged upon an air spout with Sasuke flying up next to her.
"You can't win!" Korra declared.
Korra blasted at Unalaq with air while Sasuke threw shuriken imbued with Chidori Lament. Unalaq rose a waterspout to avoid the attacks and tried to get away on a whirlpool; however, they chased after him.
Fog of Lost Souls
Tenzin, Bumi, and Kakashi continued searching through the Fog of Lost Souls for Jinora.
"Jinora! Jinora!" Tenzin called.
"Wait a second." Bumi said.
"Do you hear something?" Tenzin asked.
"Yes." Bumi was freaking out. "They're all around us. The cannibals are everywhere."
"Bumi, you must focus your mind." Tenzin tried to calm his older brother. "There are no cannibals."
"Yes, there are!" Bumi exclaimed. "They're going to eat every one of us!
Kakashi could recognize his mind was being messed with, so he raised up his head band to reveal his Sharingan; however, this was no form of Genjutsu.
Kakashi stared at his hands as tears came to his eyes. "It won't come off."
"Kakashi, you must get a grip on yourself before the fog infects you."
"They're closing in!" Bumi untied himself and ran off. "I got to get out of here!"
Tenzin tried to stop his brother while Kakashi withdrew a kunai and cut himself free before running off in a different direction.
"No!" Tenzin yelled. "Bumi, Kakashi, come back!"
He tried to Airbend the fog away, but it came back.
Portal Area
Shikamaru was still holding Desna and Eska with his Shadow Possession, Mako, Bolin, Neji, and Lee were still trapped in ice, and Kiba was working on the ice entrapping the Firebender. Right about now, he was wishing they hadn't used all their weapons earlier.
"Release us at once." Eska demanded.
"You two need to let US out!" Mako retorted.
"Your groveling is pathetic." Desna said.
"I do so enjoy the sweet scent of desperation." Eska said.
"You two need to actually think." Shikamaru voiced. "Your father has fused with an evil spirit, and he's planning of bringing about 10,000 years of darkness. All you are to him are pawns, no better than the men he used to defend the portal or all those dark spirits."
"Why would you protect someone who doesn't even care about you?" Kiba asked.
"Father was going to let me expire when we tried to open the Northern Portal." Desna reasoned. "Perhaps we should rethink our position."
"Yes!" Lee cheered.
"No." Eska shot him down. "Don't listen to them, for their words are poisoning your mind."
"Oh, come on!" Mako yelled.
Bolin started to cry.
"What's with this outburst of emotion?" Eska asked.
"It's called crying." Neji sighed.
"I'm sorry!" Bolin exclaimed. "I can't help it. It's just so sad I'll never be with you again."
"What!?" Kiba and Lee exclaimed.
"Are you serious?" Shikamaru asked in disbelief.
"Silence!" Eska demanded. "Explain yourself."
"Eska, I've always loved you." Bolin stated. "I always wanted to be with you, but now the world's ending. We'll just never have that chance."
"We could have been together, but you left me at the altar." Eska retorted.
"No, I was scared." Bolin argued. "I feared my true feelings for you. I should have never left you. I'm sorry we'll never have that chance to rekindle the dying ember that was our love."
"You, shadow Shinobi, release me." Eska demanded.
Shikamaru stared her in the eyes firmly before ultimately sighing. "What a drag."
He released the pair, and Eska kissed Bolin before making the ice trapping everyone melt. "You will never defeat my father, but should you survive, perhaps we could spend eternal darkness together."
"Come on, we need to help Sasuke and Korra." Mako declared, causing the group to sprint for the Southern Portal.
"Wow, Bolin, that was phenomenal acting!" Kiba declared, impressed.
"It was truly one of your best performances, my friend!" Lee added.
"Yeah, right." Bolin wiped a tear from his eyes. "That was just a performance."
"They will certainly perish." Desna stated bluntly.
South Pole
Korra was spiraling on her vortex before ceasing as she utilized fire to evaporate the water Unalaq bent her way. As she fell, the Avatar bent three rocks which managed to destabilize the spout. Sasuke took this opportunity as he flew right into Unalaq.
He pushed that man fast and hard into the ground. He then pinned the man and attacked him with a furious burst of Taijutsu. Somewhere in there he charged up the black lightning around his right hand and reared it back in preparation to end this.
"Chidori Lament!" Sasuke yelled.
He thrust that right at the man's heart, only to suddenly be sent flying from a massive spout of water. Unalaq then stood as he bent water over the recovering Uchiha and made it rain multiple ice needles.
"SASUKE!" Korra yelled.
The Avatar attempted to glide herself along the snow to catch the falling Uchiha, but Unalaq rose up some ice in her path. She tripped over it and was sent tumbling along the ground which gave the chief ample opportunity to suddenly raise the snow under Sasuke, at an angle.
This sent the Uchiha flying, and given his current stated from the ice needles, he was left to then crash into the ground. His Curse Mark State receded, returning him to normal, as he had been rendered unconscious.
Korra was enraged by this as she stood and sent two water whips at her uncle. He entered his Avatar State and ripped control of the water from his niece to pull her in. Korra stared her uncle down before his head suddenly cricked.
He opened his mouth, allowing a purple aura to come out. Mako, Bolin, and the four Genin were rushing to stop this. Vaatu entered Korra's mouth and took Raava out, sending the Avatar to the ground. Unalaq then trapped Raava in water, suspending her midair, as Vaatu reentered his body.
Fog of Lost Souls
Tenzin was alone and trying to keep his sanity. "You must stay focused. Remember who you are, Tenzin. You are the son of Avatar Aang. You are the hope for future generations of
Airbenders. The fate of the world rests on your shoulders.
But what if I fail? Then, your father's hopes of the future dies with you. I can't fail. You will. Ah! Stop it! I am the son of Avatar Aang! I am the hope for future generations of Airbenders. I am the son of Avatar Aang."
Just then, he saw Aang. "Hello, my son."
"Dad, I've failed." Tenzin lamented as he fell to his knees. "I'm no spiritual leader, and I've let the world down. I'll never be the man you were."
"You are right." Aang stated. "You are trying to hold onto a false perception of yourself. You are not me and should not be me. You are Tenzin."
He disappeared in a puff of smoke, and another Tenzin appeared. This gave the master a renewed sense of determination as he stood.
"I am not a reflection of my father." Tenzin declared. "I am Tenzin. I am Tenzin!" The fog disappeared for Tenzin, and he could now see all the other victims, especially his daughter. "Jinora!"
He ran over and hugged his daughter. With her spirit safe, Tenzin then went about finding Bumi and Kakashi before taking them all out of the fog.
"Wh-What happened?" Bumi asked confused.
"I think your brother saved us." Kakashi responded.
Jinora then woke up. "Dad."
"You'll be okay, sweetie." Tenzin assured. "I'm here."
"What happened?" Jinora asked. "The last thing I remembered was dark spirits taking me away."
"You were trapped in the Fog of Lost Souls, but I wasn't going to let you stay there." Tenzin informed.
South Pole
"Unalaq has the light spirit!" Neji yelled.
Mako and Bolin bent at Unalaq who dropped Raava and blocked their respective elements with ice spikes before rapidly sending up an ice path that knocked the pair out. The Shinobi, by process of being behind the pair, lept atop the newly created path and kept running.
Unalaq had the ice path suddenly rupture violently, making the Shinobi cry out in pain before silencing as their unconscious bodies hit the ground. Korra, who was simply too weak to put up any resistance beyond just reaching out her arm, could only watch.
Unalaq picked Raava up with purple water before flinging her into a rock. He then began striking at the spirit, making Korra grunt in pain as she had a vision of Aang disappearing. Unalaq struck at Raava again, a vison of Roku disappeard.
This process repeated with Kyoshi. Then, Kuruk, Yangchen, and more past Avatars disappeared, all the while Raava became smaller and smaller. Eventually, with one final strike, Wan vanished as Raava disappeared in a golden light.
"No…" Korra managed weakly before passing out.
Lush Forest
Jinora suddenly turned. "The world is in trouble."
"What are you talking about?" Tenzin asked. "How do you know?"
"I can feel it." Jinora responded.
"What happened?" Bumi asked.
"It's Korra and Sasuke." Jinora passed a light butterfly to Tenzin. "This light spirit will guide you out, but I must go help my friends."
Jinora faded away, to her father's dismay. "Jinora!"
South Pole
Mako, Bolin, and the Konoha Genin came to before rushing to help Korra and Sasuke up. They all now saw Unalaq transforming, with his size growing as Vaatu's markings appear on him, and his body changed into a giant, dark red spirit with tentacles on his back.
"Is that Unalaq?" Lee asked.
"No, that's UnaVaatu…" Kiba stated.
Desna and Eska left the Spirit World and saw their changed father, utterly horrified.
"Now, ten-thousand years of darkness…BEGINS!" UnaVaatu declared.
He reached his hand towards the aurora borealis and disappeared into it while creating an impact that tossed everyone there away. Everyone was left unconscious, weak, and hurt.

That said, to ensure this poll has weight, I have decided the second poll will only be on the topic of potential Bending OC's. Per the poll edging out as you guys not wanting them, Shinobi OC's are off the table. The next poll should or will soon be up on my profile; however, here is what it will be.
