Jaime44: All of them, lol. But if you want to pick the hardest? Either Faust vs Stormrider because Worms suck, Varis vs Gore as that was actually impossible, or this one because I have the worst luck with this thing and thinking about the turns were a nightmare.
Ken Valbrandur: They have to pray on all Gods to even survive a turn against him as this will show how smart and powerful he is. Gore in this fic is a bit smarter than in Canon as I wanted to show that he does plan around things, even though they don't work out. The fact that he managed to push him to use his Fusion and Synchro monsters is a good showing that he ain't no slouch.
In the Data Storm in Link VRAINS, three figures are surfing inside of it with the sole objection of ending things right here and now as this will be the last time they will face this man and end this war once and for all. However, this was not going to be easy as the man they had to fight was a man that could bring down even Kings down. He looked back at two as he continued to stare at them.
Unknowingly to them with the exception of Varis, the Chess Pieces from SOL Tech were watching this as they couldn't leave anywhere. "This brat and his puny soldiers have gone for too long! How long do we have to wait until we can log out?!" yelled Queen impatiently as she turned herself to Bishop.
"Be patient, alright. You can't make a boat by being impatient." said Bishop as it was clear to everyone that he was trying to fix Varis' problem the best that he could, but the kid was smart enough to create firewalls on top of firewalls which was why it was taking so long for him to do anything.
"Right, you were probably sleeping half the time." said Queen as she sighed.
"At least when I sleep, I sleep half of the time knowing that what I did was useful for us." said Bishop as he continued typing away.
"Whatever you say, you narcoleptic prick."
"Victoria, that is not how you should be talking to your equal and don't say anything about that to Bishop, you know about his tale. Don't you?" asked King as Queen turned around, not facing King as Bishop rolled his eyes as he continued typing.
"It is fine, compared to what I had to endure that was actually nice to hear." said Bishop as he continued to type.
"It seems that Kiyoshi's brat managed to get to you, Bishop. I am surprised at how well he is giving you trouble, as you are the most experienced at destroying firewalls." said Rook as he patiently waited for his friend to finish battling against their biggest enemy while those three were on their duelboards.
"Yup, that Ryoken kid sure learned how to make a firewall as these codes are something else. I haven't seen them this tough ever since Lilynette…" Bishop shook his head as he continued to type away, "These firewalls are made out of different breed. It is like The Shepherd made those, but slightly weaker. I doubt it would even take me less than 2 hours to decode all of them."
"Well, just try as much as you can as even we are getting confused at this point." said Knight as he briefly saw Bishop's screen at what he was doing and quickly backed away. "Just… make sure you don't fall asleep this time, alright?"
"Yeah, and make sure that you actually try and go all out and not give a half assed way." said Queen as Bishop rolled his eyes at that. Despite their words, Bishop worked until his fingers bled from how much he typed on his laptop as he was getting through it the best he could, something that was hard for him to even start.
"Shuku, I believe in you as you are my right hand man, I trust that you can do it." said King as Bishop stopped for half of a second until he continued to type away on his laptop, almost being done with another firewall. The half second he took was looking at his hand that was made in his spot in the Chess Pieces, as King was the only one that was left out.
He continued to work as hard as he could, against the Knights of Hanoi and Kiyoshi's brat, Ryoken.
Back to the three
"What did you just say?" asked Soulburner as he tried his hardest to balance himself on the duelboard inside of a Data Storm, trying not to die, while the man looked at both of them with a smirk on his face, unphased at all what was going on.
"I said, I wanted to end things between us and this is the best way to end things, won't you agree?" asked Varis as they looked at him with narrowed eyes. That was practically a death sentence and almost a trap, but the way he said it meant that he was being genuine at what he was saying. There is a problem with that.
"But how? A Speed Duel will usually have 2 duelists duel at the same time while the other watches. Sure, Speed Duels are faster than Master Duels, but not by much, so what are you implying here?" asked Frostgirl as Varis smirked.
"You catch on quickly, Frostgirl, something that is needed against me. I was thinking about a Speed Duel, but not just any Speed Duel, a different kind of Speed Duel: A Tag Speed Duel." said Varis as they took a step backwards hearing that as what they heard was almost unheard off mainly because it was so rare.
"What?! Are you kidding us?! A Tag Speed Duel at this rate is hard to think off, however, it isn't impossible." Flame thought about it as he placed his hand on his chin, "There are several reasons why this shouldn't work between us, but it is the best way we have against him." said Flame as he thought about that and he couldn't decide if they should take it or not.
On one hand: Varis has to combat against 2 strong duelists at the same time with different strategies to keep up with, making it harder for him to fight either of them, but on the other hand, there was something that held both of them back against this idea.
"Looks like this is why you are the brains of this group, I assume. A Tag duel with Salamangreat, A Fire Cyberse deck, and Ice Barrier, a Water Deck, can not mash well, don't you think?" asked Varis, "Isn't trust one of the key component of a relationship? Don't you two entrust each other? No matter what happens between you two?" asked Varis as his smirk couldn't have made bigger as the two then looked at each.
"Hey, Kik- Frostgirl, I know that he might be right with our decks not mashing, but that won't matter! Let's make the most of it, no matter what!" yelled Soulburner as Frostgirl smiled at him.
"I was thinking the same thing! Nothing will stop us! And Varis," the man turned his attention to Frostgirl, "We will make sure to make you pay for what you did!" she yelled out with confidence, even though they felt a pit of some kind. A pit of doubt.
Even though with their boost of confidence, they knew what Varis said was correct on some kind. Their decks didn't mesh at all. One was Fire Attributed, the other was Water Attributed. He was fire, she was cold. His deck can use up almost all Summoning Methods with the exception of the one that she mastered at. His deck was filled with Cyberse monsters while hers was filled with Spellcasters, Aqua and Warriors. He couldn't even bring out his monsters as they require Fire monsters, a type that is literally the opposite of hers. They were polar opposites that you can get.
However, that won't stop them no matter what. Varis needs to be defeated and even if it takes a combo of their strongest monsters to take him down, it will be worth it to save everyone.
"Let's first start with the rules. We all start with 8000 life points, sound fair?" asked Varis as they nodded to that, even Flame did, "You two share a field, life points and a graveyard, while you both have your own hand, while I may use my own field and graveyard with only 4 cards."
"That sounds fair with me." said Frostgirl with a narrowed expression on her face.
"Good to hear that. Then, the person that goes first of the duel is the only person that can not attack on their turn as the two other duelists can conduct their Battle Phases. I can go 2 times per round, while both of you take 1 turn per round." said Varis as they clicked their tongue at that as they hated that part, but it sounds fair for this duel.
"Alright, you can go ahead." said Soulburner as Varis grinned.
"Good. The Last Part is what Speed Duels are special. The Skills," their attention have grown on that as they continued flying upwards close to the Tower Of Hanoi. "You see, you two can only activate 1 Skill per turn while I can activate my Skill at any time I want. Not to mention, you can not switch Skills during the duel, you hear me, Fire Ignis?" asked Varis as he turned to Flame as he sighed at that.
"I hear you, I understand. Sorry Frostgirl, I am afraid you won't get a Cyberse monster soon." said Flame as Frostgirl waved it off.
"Oh, don't worry about that, Flame, it is fine! I can handle this guy just fine without it." Frostgirl said as she narrowed her eyes at that while Varis didn't looked afraid at that, but more intrigued.
"That's right! Cause we aren't just fighting for us, we are dueling for Gore and Seig- Stormrider! You hear that, Varis?! We won't give up specifically for them!" yelled Soulburner as Flame crossed his arms at that as Varis narrowed his eyes at the Cyberse Duelist.
"Really? You fight for everyone and your comrades? Well, I am not dueling for myself either! I am dueling for the Knights Of Hanoi!" yelled Varis as Kiyoshi was watching this duel with a proud smile on his face as he was looking at his heart rate at a worried expression, but he decided not to act on it to cheer for his son, one last time.
"TIME FOR A SPEED DUEL!" all 4 people in the Data Storm yelled out, ready to finish this.

Tag Speed Duel!
Turn 1.
All 3 Duelists drew cards from their deck as they looked at it. "Soulburner, Frostgirl, I think I have the best idea on how to get around this. Soulburner, you should go second while you go first Frostgirl." said Flame as they were surprised to hear that.
"Really, how come?" asked Frostgirl as Flame looked at their opponent.
"There are reasons for that, but because of the fact that Soulburner's deck works best as a going second deck, even while having good going first cards, while your deck has more ways of putting out a good defense or a good offense that most monsters can't get over." said Flame as they thought about it and they nodded.
"Right, I think I get it. Go, Ki- Frostgirl, I believe in you!... I should really get used to calling her that." said Soulburner as he scratched the back of his head.
"Thank you, Teddy and don't worry, I got this!" yelled Frostgirl as Varis narrowed his eyes at that. Wondering why did she call him that in Link VRAINS. She swiped her hands, looking at her hand and then wondering what she could use for this turn and then she thought about a decent strategy.

"I will start by summoning my Samurai of The Ice Barrier!" As then an old fashioned Samurai appeared on the field, as he wore black leather underneath his blue coloured armour in the style of an old samurai with yellow lining, wearing an old fashioned blue katana made out of ice.

"That is not all! Since I control an Ice Barrier monster on the field, I can special summon my Speaker For The Ice Barriers!" yelled Frostgirl as she then took a single card from her hand as then it turned into data as then a monster appeared on the field with a new monster.
It was a young little girl wearing a white dress with a dark blue jacket with long sleeves and yellow lining, as she had long blue hair and dark blue eyes as with her was a Shiba Inu with an Ice Barrier token on the head. Once summoned, Samurai's grip on the sword became stronger as swore to protect the child from Danger as the Shiba Inu licked her face.

"Two monsters at once? Nice job." complimented Soulburner as Frostgirl blushed.
"Th-Thanks! However, they won't be sticking long soon! As I activate Winds Over The Ice Barrier!" The Spell card materialized in front of her as it quickly shined, "I can tribute any number of Ice Barrier monsters on the field, so sorry Samurai and Speaker, your sacrifices won't be in vain." Samurai quickly ran over to Speaker as a strong gale appeared which pushed them back into data.
The data then went to the same place as two cards appeared on her duel disk, "Now, I can special summon from my deck as many Level 4 or lower Ice Barrier monsters from my deck with different names as possible! Come out, Mirror Magic Master Of The Ice Barrier and Caravan Of The Ice Barrier!" Frostgirl then placed the two monsters on her field as they appeared from the data.
On her field appeared two monsters. The first one is a small green coloured dragon that was dark green at the top and on the back while on the front it was light green as there was a man riding it at the back who looked like a traveler. The other one was a woman with long flowing black hair as behind her were the Ice Barrier tokens, as she wore two sets of dresses, one was fluffy that was on first while the second looked more royal like as it had golden lining on the dress, as she wore a bandana, with black boots and black pants.

(Mirror Magic Master Of The Ice Barrier: Level 2 - Tuner - Water Aqua - Attack: 1000. Defense: 400.)
"Two monsters on the field with one spell? Interesting, though they won't do much against me." said Varis as he looked at her with a smirk.
"Is that so?" Frostgirl asked with a grin, "I activate Caravan's effect! I can shuffle 2 Ice Barrier monsters in my graveyard into my deck," two cards appeared in her duel disk as she then took it and placed it in her deck, "So then, each player can draw exactly 1 card!" Frostgirl, Soulburner and Varis all drew 1 card from their deck by her demand.
"I then play Synchro Baton!" The Spell card materialized in front of them, "With this, I can draw 2 cards for the price of discarding 1 card from my hand," Frostgirl took 2 cards from her deck as then she discarded 1 card from her hand, "The card I discarded was my Card Of Compensation! I now draw 2 cards as it was discarded!"
She then looked over at her hand as then she grinned looking at it. "Looks like I can finally play the card you guys gave me!" Varis growled as soon as he heard that. He knew instantly what she was playing at that moment and he hated it, but that was just the start. Frostgirl then picked up a card, "I then play Tune Up 123!"
The Spell card materialized in front of them as then a die appeared in her hands, "With this, I can target 1 Tuner monster on my side of the field, as then I can roll this die. Depending on the roll, I can increase its level by 1, 2 or 3!" yelled Frostgirl as she then threw her die as then it grew larger as it then rolled into a 2.
"Since it landed on a 2, her Level is increased by 1!" yelled Frostgirl as Mirror Magic Master stood tall as she glanced at Caravan.
Mirror Magic Master Of The Ice Barrier: 2 - 3 Levels
"Then I play my Mirror Magic Master's effect! You see, she can tribute 1 Effect monster on my side of the field and then I can special summon up to 3 Ice Barrier Tokens and then my Mirror Magic Master's Level increases by the amount of levels my monster had!" Yelled Frostgirl as Caravan nodded away as then a book appeared next to Mirror Magic Master as then she created a spell.
The monster disappeared and 2 Ice Barrier Tokens appeared on the field next to her.

Mirror Magic Master Of The Ice Barrier: 3 - 4 Levels
"Wait… with all of those monsters on the field…" Soulburner looked at the field as then he smiled.
"Frostgirl has enough for 2 Options: Link or Synchro Summoning, but we all know which one she will pick." said Flame as Frostgirl smiled.
"You are right, Flame!" The entire world greyed out as then a blue lightning struck her on her head as she yelled out, "I tune my Level 4 Mirror Magic Master with my 2 Level 1 Ice Barrier Tokens!" Frostgirl yelled out as then Mirror Magic Master turned into 4 blue rings as the two Tokens turned into 1 green rings each as they combined into each other for 6 Rings.
4 + 1 + 1 = 6!
Frostgirl began to chant, "Appear, the monster coming from the storm of Absolute Zero as your fangs rip through the enemies skin! I Synchro Summon! Appear, Dewloren, Tiger King Of The Ice Barrier!" As then on her and Soulburner's combined Left Extra Monster Zone, appeared her signature Synchro Monster.
It was a large tiger as the name suggests, as he had blue coloured fur with pointy light blue skin at the end of them, as he had white fur around his tail and the back side, as he had green eyes, with him having ice pickles around his shoulders as the armour was black with golden lining around the entire armour.
(Dewloren, Tiger King Of The Ice Barrier: Synchro - Level 6 - Water Beast - Attack: 2000. Defense: 1400.)
"Ah heck yeah! One of your best Synchro monsters!" cheered Soulburner as Flame nodded as the monster was powerful enough for several turns. Varis was silent as he kept on watching the duelist as he knew what card she had in her hand as he had to get rid of it as fast as possible.
"That's right, but first, go! Mirage Of Nightmares!" The Continuous Spell card appeared on her side of the field, "During your Standby Phase, I can draw until I have 4 cards, while during one of our Standby Phases, I have to discard the number of cards I drew. I will then set two cards face down." Frostgirl said as two cards were set vertically behind Dewloren as they quickly disappeared.

Turn 2. Varis - 8000 lp - 5 cards
As soon as Varis drew the top card of his deck, Frostgirl pushed out her arm, "Mirage of Nightmare activates! During your Standby Phase, I can now draw until I have 4 cards in my hand!" She yelled out as 4 cards appeared on the top of her deck as she then took it. She looked at them and nodded.
"You can draw whatever you would like to! As this is the card you helped me to draw! I activate The Forceful Sentry!" They gasped hearing that as the Spell card appeared on the field, "With this, I can look at either one of your hands as I can now pick a card in your hand and you have to shuffle them back into your deck! Soulburner! Show me your hand." said Varis as Soulburner gritted his teeth, but showed his hand towards him.
They were: Flame Bufferlo, Salamangreat Fowl, Salamangreat Gazelle, Salamangreat Fang and Salamangreat Roar.
Varis placed a hand under his chin, "Hm, interesting. You have an Equip Spell, which you can keep as it won't harm me, Salamangreat Fowl and Gazelle are good cards, but don't interest me even if they can give you both Link and XYZ buffs. The only one that I have to take care of is either Flame Bufferlo or your Salamangreat Roar. One that gives you advantage when sent to the graveyard and the other is an Omni Negate…" Varis thought about it until he looked at him, "You can keep Flame Bufferlo. Shuffle your Salamangreat Roar!"
Soulburner took a card from his hand and placed it on his deck as it began to shuffle. "Drat. It was wise. He picked up one of the cards that would have given him the most trouble during his own turn." said Flame as Frostgirl bit her lips.
"I am so sorry! I didn't mean t-"
"Nah, don't worry. He would've drawn that card either way and besides, we got this." said Soulburner as Frostgirl took a deep breath after hearing that.
"I wouldn't be so sure as I activate my Mystical Space Typhoon! I will destroy the far left card!" yelled Varis as then a strong tornado appeared inside a Data Storm as it went straight towards one of her set cards, revealing it to be Terror Of Trishula, something that he wasn't aiming at all.
"Well that doesn't matter to me as I summon my Silverrokket Dragon!" on his field appeared a tall and slim dragon. He had a purple bullet on the top of his head and 6 neon purple wings, as it had angel like wings for ears, as the armour he wore was silver. It was based on a silver bullet, a weapon to kill off vampires.
(Silverrokket Dragon: Level 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1900. Defense: 100.)
"Since I have a Rokket Dragon on my field, I can Special Summon a monster from my hand! Come out, Absorouter Dragon! Appear!" yelled out Varis as then right next to him appeared a new monster that he yet to show off. It was a rather massive dragon that was taller than most of the duelists here, as the dragon had 4 sharp metal wings, with a large black metal tail, with green eyes and metal orbs around the arms and legs, as he had blue lining all over the dragon.
(Absorouter Dragon: Level 7 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1200. Defense: 2800.)
"Now, as I special summoned a Dark Dragon monster, I can now summon this monster! Come out, Noctovision Dragon!" yelled Varis as then on his field appeared a second large dragon on the field as they were at shock at how fast this man had managed to build his field in such a short amount of time. It was a large dragon that was a bipedal dragon, as it had a large tail with a knife at the end of it, as it had yellow ears, with dark green skin and 3 neon green lights at the end of them with 4 red binoculars.
(Noctovision Dragon: Level 7 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 0. Defense: 2800.)
"Di-Did he just summon 3 monsters out of 1 Normal Summon?!" yelled Frostgirl in shock as Soulburner gulped seeing that combo.
"I think he did." said Soulburner as he wasn't expecting something like that to happen.
"If you think that is impressive, wait until you see this! I manifest my circuit!" data appeared on Varis' fist as he then threw his hand out as then a large circuit appeared over it. "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Effect monsters, so I set my Silverrokket Dragon, Absorouter Dragon and Noctovision Dragon in the Link Arrows!" Varis roared as all three of his monsters flew straight at the top and bottom Link Arrows.
Varis began to chant, "The bloodlust of destruction of the Cyberse created a new form of devastation! Rain down on your enemies of your rain of death! I Link Summon! Appear, Link-3, Borrelcode Dragon!" From his circuit, on the Right Extra Monster Zone, appeared a monster that was a combo of his Borrel monsters and his Topologic monsters. The head opened up like a gun, the base was that of Borreload with massive jet turbines at the back with several massive spikes behind it alongside massive wings that looked like Magic Cylinders below them. There were 2 silver tendrils coming out of the monster as the bottom part had nothing, but jet turbines as the arms were the same.
(Borrelcode Dragon: Link - Dark Dragon - Attack: 2500. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right.)
"Okay, I have seen a lot of monsters, but that one takes the cake!" yelled Soulburner.
"And probably ate it too!" said Frostgirl as Flame was in complete shock at seeing that. Not only did this man somehow managed to create a combo of the two races that wanted the Cyberse dead, but he made it possible by summoning it in one turn.
"Oh it will eat more than just a cake, it will eat all of your chances of winning! Although, two effects go off at the same time! The first one is Absorouter Dragon's effect. When sent to the Graveyard, I can add 1 Rokket Dragon from my deck to my hand." a card popped out of his duel disk as he then took it. "Next, Noctovision Dragon allows me to draw 1 card from my deck." The Leader Of The Hanoi drew the card from his deck.
"I am starting to think he would've drawn that Forceful Sentry regardless." said Flame as he looked at Varis, who didn't seem to be scared, but instead, he smirked as he saw the card he just drew. That smirk told everything that they had to know about the card he just drew. "That look on his face… he has drawn it, hasn't he?" thought to himself Flame as he looked at his enemy.
"I will start off by setting a card face down," a card was set vertically behind Borrelcode Dragon. "Now… Battle! Borrelcode Dragon attacks your Dewloren! Thunder Malicious Destruction!" roared Varis as then the monster opened its mouth as then thunder began to form as it then shot straight towards the Synchro Monster.
Before they could even brace themselves, Varis continued, "I will now activate Borrelcode Dragon's effect! When it is Link Summoned with 3 monsters used for it, my Borrelcode Dragon can now destroy every monster on the field when it battles a monster!" yelled out Varis as they gasped hearing that.
"Wait.. WHAT?!"
"Why would you do that?!" both the duelists yelled as then the electricity was then becoming stronger and stronger with every passing second as the monster kept on getting stronger and stronger as when the attack finally landed on Dewloren, the shockwave from the explosion was large enough to kill off Borrelcode as well.
"Why on Earth did you destroy your own monster!?" yelled Soulburner as Varis smirked at that.
"Oh for simple reasons, something that you should know about." said Varis as Flame instantly knew why he did that.
"He did that because of our last duel! That is such a clever strategy, as even though he might lose more damage before, he made it so that his Borrelcode won't be taken away by Fusion Of Fire for Violet Chimera. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting that." said Flame as Varis looked at him.
"You are correct, Fire Ignis. As I wouldn't expect less from your own species, even though you haven't been fully truthful to your own origin. Right?" asked Varis as they were confused at what he just said. "I end my turn."
Turn 3. Soulburner - 8000 lp - 4 cards
"Wait… what did you just say about Flame? About him not being truthful about him?" asked Soulburner as he looked at him. Flame even looked at him in a confused tone.
"I agree with him. What are you talking about me not being truthful about him? I have been truthful the entire time!" yelled Flame as Varis looked at him with mere disgust.
"Oh, you say as if it were a fact, but tell me, what do you know about this Ignis?" asked Varis as they were confused about that fact, but they looked at each other.
"Well, he talked about the Ignises and their personalities if you want to count that? He did talk about the Cyberse a lot during the day and even about the creation of monsters." Said Frostgirl as she begin to think back about everything the Ignis told them about as Flame looked at her.
Flame then turned his attention towards his origin, "He even talked about how they were designed after the Lost Incident for each of the 6 kids that a man by the name of Kiyoshi Kogami worked at. So I don't even know what you are talking about." said Soulburner as Varis was silent.
Varis then looked over at his wrist to see what was happening to his father and then went back towards them as he saw that he was stable for now. "Interesting, but what about the location about the Cyberse? Don't you think he would've told you already? If he truly did remember why would he kept it a secret?" That… was a good point as that was one of the few things that Flame had never told anyone and it was something that actually hurt them as they thought about it.
"F-Flame? Is it true that you know where the Cyberse is? Or did you forget about it?" asked Soulburner as Flame turned to him.
"What? No! It is true that only I know where it is, but there is the problem of not knowing it fully. The memory of it is as clear as day, but the location can not be tracked at all as I tried my best! Soulburner, Frostgirl, I promise you, if I knew exactly where it is, I would've told you already." said Flame as they looked at him with a worried frown on their faces.
"Why would they trust you? After all, the Fire Ignis surely knows about its true job. Or why would they have been born." said Varis as they all stared at him, "You thought that creating new monsters was his true job? No, it is far more simple and sinister. At first they would've been fine, but overtime, their existence is humanity's greatest mistake." he said as they looked at him.
"What are you even saying!?" asked Soulburner as Varis looked at him.
"Don't you find it strange why would we go after a single AI program? It is not because it holds all of humanity's greatest secrets, no, it is something that is dangerous. It would result in catastrophic disasters that even the darkest moments in history would look like a game of tag. "Soulburner! Frostgirl! Don't listen to him! Trust me, please. You two are the people I trust the most, without a question, but there are some things that are impossible to even talk about when I don't even know, please realize that I want to help you guys as much as you want to help me. I don't even know what is he even talking about me being dangerous. So please… listen to me." pleaded Flame as Frostgirl and Soulburner looked at each other before Frostgirl moved her head to the left slightly.
Soulburner nodded, "Alright, we trust you, Flame. We will talk about the Cyberse, right after we take him down! Even though… I have no idea what he is talking about you being dangerous." Soulburner said as Flame nodded.
Varis then looked at him, "Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you." said Varis as he got into his position.
"Alright! My turn and I draw!" yelled Soulburner as he drew the top card of his deck. He looked at it and smirked, "Before you yell about the cost of Mirage Of Nightmare, how about I play my Emergency Provisions?! I target her Mirage Of Nightmare for a good cost of 1000 life points!" Soulburner yelled as then the Mirage Of Nightmare turned into some crackers that went straight towards Soulburner as he began to eat it.

"Nice thinking, Ted- Soulburner!" said Frostgirl as Soulburner smiled at her.
"Thanks! I am quite thankful that I top decked that card before losing almost all of my cards." said Soulburner as he then took a card from his hand, "Now, I will summon my Flame Bufferlo in attack mode!" As then on his field appeared a black mechanical bull with blue flames all around the monster.

Varis stared at the both of them as he had almost no field to speak of. He stared at the heart monitor, looking at the hearrate go up and down every other second as he knows one thing to do.
He has to end this duel as fast as possible.

We see a collection of duelists' duel disk as they were shown to be drawn by different duelists such as: Soulburner, Frostgirl, Stormrider, Gore, Kitamura, Ghost Gal, Specter and finally, Varis, but when he was shown of drawing his last card, the scenery changed to Soulburner with Flame on his shoulder standing in a lone deserted town.
As then we see Soulburner at the front, Flame on his left shoulder, Frostgirl on his left and Stormrider to his right as then they went to the right with the title saying "Bring The Heat, Soulburner!"
Running through the dark night, where are we headed?
We first see a room where Seigen on his laptop trying to code with Flame looking over in interest as Kiku and Theodore are trying their best to study.
Only the moonlight is our sole guide
We then see Varis and Specter standing beside each other as Varis sees a screen looking over their strongest monsters.
Pain and sadness cannot be erased
Then we see a tiny boy looking over a screen showing 6 children around his age in an experiment known as The Lost Incident with horror on his face.
But the flames in our hearts cannot be extinguished
We see Gore sitting down in his arena, remembering those days of when he was an orphan with no one there to comfort him, but he then stood up with a smile on his face, trying to show the other orphans that he is ready to take them down.
For whom do we persist with these feelings?
As then we see the backs of previous legendary duelists from before their time as slowly, but surely, it went around to see Gore, Stormrider, Frostgirl and Soulburner, which the four turned around with determined looks on their faces.
We'll tear through the darkness and into the light
As then they turned to see Varis and Specter nodding to each other as they both appeared in the same city.
Until the day when we can shine
We then see Stormrider and Gore looking shocked, Frostgirl looking terrified and finally Soulburner and Flame looking determined to finally see the time of day.

We see Specter with a wild grin on his face as his Sunavalon Dryatrentiay threw out its roots at the battling Ho-Oh, The Reincarnation of Nephthys and General Edward Of The Ice Barrier as Stormrider and Frostgirl grit their teeth at him.
Rise up and surround us, toward the other side of dawn
We then see Varis unleashing Borrelsword, Borrelguard and Borreload Dragons like a maniac as Gore roared as he summoned out his Gouki Destroy Ogre, Gouki Undertake Ogre, Gouki The Invincible Ogre and Gouki The Macho Ogre at him.
Until we can lovе this world once more
We then see Flame looking at the sky, finally realizing the true purpose of his existence as he looked like he found his inner peace.
Even if our livеs come to an end, let's stay connected
We then see Soulburner at what looked like he was covered in flames as his Salamangreat Violet Chimera, Pyro Phoenix, Blaze Dragon, Emerald Eagle and his new Synchro monster were battling against Varis who had his Borreload Dragon, Borreload Savage Dragon, Borreload eXCharge Dragon, Borreload Riot Dragon and Borreload Furious Dragon.

After the monsters were destroyed, all that left was a Soulburner who looked not angered or sad, but joyous while Varis had a smile on his face as their fields had Salamangreat Heatleo and Topologic Zeroboros, as when the two crashed…

Cause I blaze the circuit!" roared Soulburner as then from his fingers appeared a scorching red fire as then it was shot into the air, creating a circuit, "The Summoning Conditions is 1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse Monster, so I set my Flame Bufferlo in the Link Arrows!" Soulburner yelled out as then his lone monster went into the bottom Link Arrow.
"I Link Summon! Link-1, Salamangreat Balelynx!" yelled Soulburner as then on their lone Extra Monster zone appeared their signature Salamangreat monster. It was a small cat with brown skin, a ruby on the forehead, emerald eyes, that had red, brown, white and orange skin, with several jet turbines at the back,, as it had green circles around their legs, as it had a tail that was like a torch.

"Two effects go off at the same time!" Yelled Soulburner, "The first is that whenever Flame Bufferlo is removed from the field, I can send 1 Cyberse monster from my hand to the graveyard in order to draw 2 cards from my deck!" yelled Soulburner as he then discarded Salamangreat Fowl as he then drew the top 2 cards from his deck.
"The second effect is that of Balelynx! When it is summoned, we get to add 1 Salamangreat Sanctuary from our deck to our hand!" yelled Flame as a card popped out of their duel disk as Soulburner took the card. "That is not all! Salamangreat Gazelle's effect activates!"
"If a Salamangreat monster is sent to the graveyard, I can special summon it from my hand! Come out!" Yelled Soulburner as he then slammed the card on his field as then a monster appeared on his field. It was a gazelle with reddish brown fur alongside silver coloured fur around the neck and feet, with gray hooves, with emerald eyes, long horns and red ears as fire was around its butt and neck.

"Then a second effect goes off! When Salamangreat Gazelle is summoned in any way, I can send 1 Salamangreat monster from my deck to the graveyard!" Soulburner said as then a card popped out of his deck as he then took it and placed it in his graveyard with a smile on his face.
"Ahh, I see. From one card you managed to create a decent advantage with monsters and cards in hand, but I doubt they can achieve much." said Varis.
"We will see about that! I blaze the circuit for the second time!" fire appeared around Soulburner's fist as he then threw out a punch directly towards the air as then a circuit appeared over it. "The Summoning Conditions are 2 Fire Effect monsters, so I set my Link-1 Salamangreat Balelynx and my Salamangreat Gazelle in the Link Arrows!" then the two monsters went up and down as they turned into red tornados.
"I Link Summon! Link-2, Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf!" yelled out loud Soulburner as then in their Extra Monster zone appeared his only Link-2 monster. It was a wolf with a silver tail, silver claws, silver arms and legs, as their hips and feet were green and light green at the same time with red eyes, as there was fire around the monster's chest.

"He isn't the only monster we are going to summon! The effect of Spinny in our graveyard activates! If we control a Salamangreat monster on our field," a card popped out of their graveyard as Flame began to explain, "we can special summon this monster right next to Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf's Link Arrow from our graveyard, but it is banished when it leaves the field!"
"Right on, Flame! Come out! Salamangreat Spinny!" yelled Soulburner took the card from his graveyard and slammed it on his duel disk. A monster appeared as it was a small hedgehog as the spikes were black and orange with the body being curled up as it was on fire, with the skin being black as it had green emerald eyes.

"Then, Sunlight Wolf's effect activates! When a monster is special or normal summoned on the field, right next to its Link Arrow, I can add 1 Fire monster from my graveyard, but it can not be summoned the turn it was added!" a card popped out of Soulburner's graveyard as he then took it. It was his Flame Bufferlo as he placed the card in his hand. "Flame, are you thinking what I am thinking?" he asked.
"If it means summoning our ace and getting rid of that Trap? Then yes… Let's go, Soulburner!" yelled Flame as Soulburner grinned.
"Great! Let's go, Flame! I blaze the circuit for the third time!" fire appeared around Soulburner's fist as once he threw the punch, a circuit appeared, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Fire Effect monsters so I set my Link-2 Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf and my Spinny in the Link Arrows!" his two monsters flew up in the air in the circuit.
"I Link Summon! Come out, my favourite monster! Link-3, Salamangreat Heatleo!" On his field appeared his favourite monster. It was a lion that had 2 lion heads as arms, as the skin was that of a golden lion, with the fur being gold around the legs, arms and head, as then there was black fur around the legs, arms and now feet, as the claws were sharper than most as there was fire around the monster.

"Heatleo…" said Varis as he remembered negating that and his Smoldering Bear at the same time with his Fire Prison before it was destroyed.
"Nice one! That way his set card won't activate at all due to Heatleo's effect!" yelled Frostgirl as Soulburner smiled.
"That's right! So pack your bags, Varis! As that card is now shuffled!" yelled Soulburner as Heatleo opened its maw as then hot steaming fire appeared all over the monster as it then shot straight towards Varis' set card, making the man glare at the Link-3 monster. However, he didn't seem too bothered by that fact.
"That wasn't what we expected, but still! Go, Salamangreat Fang!" The Equip Spell appeared on the field as Flame continued to explain, "With this our monster gains 300 attack points for every Link Arrow this monster has! Including the fact it can not be destroyed by your card effects, so even if we didn't use his effect, your Mirror Force would've fizzled out!" Flame yelled out as the arm of Heatleo then became hotter with every passing second as the card roared in power.
Salamangreat Heatleo: 2300 - 3200 attack points
Soulburner looked at his hand and saw that he had no more moves left to make, "Battle! Salamangreat Heatleo attacks you directly! Heatsoul!" yelled Soulburner with all of his might as then Heatleo then pointed his arm that was on fire and then shot fire from it like Flame Wingman as the attacked reached towards Varis, who seemed to be unaffected by it.

Despite Varis losing almost half of his life points, the man seemed to be unbothered by his predicament. "Are you done? All you did was make your demise sooner than before." said Varis as they gritted their teeth at that.
"Yeah, I am done. I end my turn." said Soulburner as Heatleo roared once the turn ended.

Turn 4. Varis - 4800 lp - 2 cards
Varis, despite losing almost half of his life points and having no monsters to even speak off, looked like he wasn't even bothered by that fact in the slightest and saw that as a minor setback more than anything, "Interesting. You two really thought that something like that would stop me? It is sad, however, it would be good to clean out the trash! I draw!" yelled Varis as he looked at his hand.
He nodded as he saw 1 powerful Tuner monster, 1 good monster that he used against Ghost Gal and 1 Trap that will help him out if it comes to them adding cards during their turns and knowing their deck, it is quite possible for them to do that. First though, he has to get rid of that Link-3 monster with a powerful Equip Spell and he knows the best card.
"I banish from my graveyard, my Borrelcode Dragon!" They gasped as he took out a card and he showed it to everyone, "So I can tribute 1 monster with 3000 or higher attack points on the field." said The Leader Of The Hanoi.
"Good luck buddy! You have no monsters on your side of the field to even do that!" Soulburner grinned, however, Varis grinned harder.
"Did I say on the field? I didn't just mean on my field, but on both fields!" They gasped hearing about that fact as they weren't expecting that kind of effect on a monster from the graveyard.
"Our monster can not be destroyed by card effects!" yelled Flame in defiance as Varis didn't slow down.
"You think that matters?! I said tribute, not destroy!" Varis yelled out as then purple data appeared over the card that Varis just took that went straight towards Heatleo as the monster screamed in agony before exploding into dust.
"Heatleo!" yelled Frostgirl as the monster disappeared.
"Now, here is the bonus of Borrelcode's effect! I can special summon 1 Topologic monster from my Extra Deck, so come out! Link-3, Topologic Trisbaena!" roared Varis as then on his Left Extra Monster zone appeared a monster that defeated Ghost Gal. It was a large being that looked like a motorcycle that was white around the surface with a little bit of red as it had tires inside of it, as the monster had small thin arms that were white with sharp claws, as the shoulders were that of a massive booster with neon green waves and a large head.
(Topologic Trisbaena: Link - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 2500. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right.)
"Oh no! That is the card that defeated Ghost Gal!" yelled Flame in shock as Frostgirl gasped seeing that.
"If you think that is familiar, wait until I summon another familiar Dragon! If I control a Link-3 or higher monster, I can summon my Drop Draco next to its Link Arrow!" yelled Varis as then a metallic bird with dark blue wings with flying orbs around it, as the monster had guns around the knees of the monster, as the monster had the head of a bird, as it appeared on one of its Link Arrows.

"Deja vu, wouldn't you say?" asked Varis with a grin on his face.
"Oh byte! If the effect of Topologic Trisbaena goes through, our line of defense is going to disappear!" yelled Flame as he placed his hands on his head in desperation.
"I hope you have something about this!" yelled Soulburner in worry as Varis grinned.
"I wouldn't think so! I activate my Topologic Trisbaena's effect! When a monster is summoned to the field next to its Link Arrow, I can banish that monster and every other Spell and Trap card on the field which you take 500 points of damage!" yelled Varis as Trisbaena turned towards Drop Draco and slashed it into pieces as the monster turned around for the lone set card, "Exile's Retribution!"
The monster sent several slashes made out of green energy that went straight towards Frostgirl, as they turned to see her, "Oh, not this time! I activate my Trap! Dark Sorcery Of The Ice Barrier!" yelled Frostgirl as Varis gritted his teeth as he looked at the Trap that he created.
"Drat." The Leader Of The Hanoi mumbled.
"Ha! Call that your karmic retribution!" yelled Soulburner with a grin.
"You should know this card, but if you forgot about it, I can special summon 1 Ice Barrier Tuner monster from my deck if you have a Link Monster on your side of the field!" yelled Frostgirl said as a card appeared on her duel disk as she then took it, "I think I found a decent choice, come out, Dewdark Of The Ice Barrier!"
On her field appeared a monster in defense mode, as the man had long blond hair, as he had a purple mask, purple scarf, a purple brown uniform with a purple robe around his body with purple gauntlets with yellow lining, with blue boots and a blue shuriken that was the shape of the Ice Barrier Token.
(Dewdark Of The Ice Barrier: Level 2 - Tuner - Water Aqua - Attack: 1200. Defense: 800.)
"Not only that your effect fizziles…" began Frostgirl as the slashes missed entirely.
"I can no longer activate my Skill." said Varis with a frown on his face.
"Good job, that way, both of us can now activate our Skills while he can't!" yelled Flame as Soulburner grinned the entire time.
"Well, this is a nuisance, however that won't matter! Destiny will be on my side during this duel!" yelled Varis as he quickly turned his eyes to the heart rate before continuing, "I will summon my Rokket Tracer in attack mode!" On his field appeared a monster that was quite new to him, but a welcome addition to his collection.
It was a strong mechanical dragon that had a massive bullet on its head, as the monster had blue eyes, with also having 4 Neon green wings, as the monster had green coding around the entire monster and a long silver tail on the bottom that had a knife at the end of it with. The skin of the metallic dragon was blood coloured red.
(Rokket Tracer: Level 4 - Tuner - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1600. Defense: 1000.)
"A Tuner?!" yelled Frostgirl in shock.
"How many do you have?!" yelled in shock Soulburner as Varis grinned ear to ear.
"More than enough to wipe away your existence! First, though, I will set a card face down," a card was set vertically behind the two beasts of destruction, "now… BATTLE! Rokket Tracer decimates Dewdark Of The Ice Barrier!" Varis threw out his fist straight towards the monster as Rokket Tracer turned into an actual bullet and flew straight across the monster's chest, making a small explosion.
"Now… Topologic Trisbaena attacks! Dire Destruction!" roared Varis as the monster alongside him roared in power as the monster flew faster than they would've expected from such a huge size as it uses its high speed and claws to slash both of the duelists at the same time, making them scream in pain.
Frostgirl and Soulburner: 9000 - 6500 lp

"That ends my turn." said Varis as he looked at his two opponents.

"Are you okay?" asked Soulburner as Frostgirl stood up.
"I am fine, don't worry." She turned to him, "I am fine, I promise." she said as she began to breathe back and forth. She then placed fingers on the top of her deck as she looked at her deck. She briefly looked at her hand and nodded, knowing full well that she has to get the perfect card right here and right now, or she will lose.
"I draw!" yelled Frostgirl as she drew the top card of her deck. She looked at it with a grin on her face, "Alright! I will send my Ice Mirror to the graveyard to activate my Skill Ice Tune!" the red lining all over her began to glow making Varis narrow his eyes at that, "I can special summon 1 Ice Barrier Token by sending 1 Spell or Trap from my hand!"
A card popped out of her duel disk as she then took it, "Come out! Cryomancer Of The Ice Barrier!" As then on her side of the field appeared a new monster on her side of the field. It was a man with tan skin with a pretty decent build, as the man wore a mask that covered his hair, wore a purple cloth around his body which the bottom looked like a floral design, as he wore bandages around his hands with an ice torch.

"Now, that is just the start, Varis! You see, since we both control monsters, I can special summon my favourite main deck monster, General Wayne Of The Ice Barrier!" On her field appeared her ace monster from her main deck. It was a monster with a great build with a tan skin, holding a samurai sword that was made out of blue eyes ice, as he wore a helmet with a red point at the top, blue cape, a dark blue and a regular blue coloured ice that acted as armour.

"Sometimes I wonder if that is her actual ace monster." wondered out loud Flame.
"I heard that!" Frostgirl turned around as Flame didn't flinch at that.
"I mean… he has a point." said Soulburner as Frostgirl turned to him with eyes that said "You are sleeping on the couch tonight."
Frostgirl sighed, "I activate General Wayne's effect! I will add 1 Ice Barrier Spell card from my deck straight to my hand!" a card appeared on the top of her duel disk as she then took it. She showed it to everyone and everyone saw that it was Medallion Of The Ice Barrier, although, she did not like the look of Varis' face.
"Thank you so much, Frostgirl! As you have given me more cards than I would've imagined! I play Talisman Of Reversal!" They gasped as they heard that Trap card's name, "If I have no cards in my hand and you added a card, I can draw cards equal to the amount of cards you have in your hand! You have 4, meaning I can draw 4 cards!" Varis now gained a full hand with just one Trap card.
"Well… that didn't work out." said Frostgirl as she shook her head, "I can still play a few cards before that! I activate Medallion Of The Ice Barrier!" The Spell Card materialized in front of them, "With this, I can add 1 Ice Barrier monster from my deck straight to my hand!" A card appeared on her duel disk as she then took it.
"Which I will now summon! Come out, Prior Of The Ice Barrier!" On her field, filling the entire Monster Zones with a long brown beard as he wore a white long sleeved shirt with yellow orbs and yellow lining all over the monster, as he wore a blue robe, as he carried a long scepter.
(Prior Of The Ice Barrier: Level 2 - Water Aqua - Attack: 1000. Defense: 400.)
However, they all saw what she just did.
She summoned a monster in the zone that Topologic Trisbaena points to.
"You fool! You just triggered my Topologic Trisbaena's effect!" yelled Varis as the monster screached out in full power. The monster's claws were now sharper than blades as it began to charge up energy wherever they went. Ready to strike down the monster that was just summoned.
"You think I misplayed?! Oh no, buddy! That was my idea actually! I play my Effect Shut!" On Frostgirl's side of the field was then activated a single Quick-Play Spell card that appeared on the field, "When a monster effect is activated, I can activate this Spell card right away and then destroy your monster instead! Leaving my Prior to be safe from harm!" yelled Frostgirl as then a massive cage was dropped.
"I won't let you do that! I activate Rokket Tracer's effect! I can target 1 monster on my side of the field and then destroy it!" Rokket Tracer then shot the bullet that was on its head as it pierced through Topologic Trisbaena as it then exploded. The cage then completely missed its target. "Not to mention, I can summon out 1 Rokket monster from my deck! Come out, Magnarokket Dragon!"
Right next to Rokket Tracer, on his field appeared a monster in attack mode. It was a slim dragon with silver colouring scheme as with a blue armour around the arms with green coding all around the monster, with a short bullet on its head, green eyes and 4 pairs of neon green wings on the back of the monster.
(Magnarokket Dragon: Level 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1800. Defense: 1200.)
"Well then… at least you managed to get rid of his Link-3 monster." said Flame as they all hated the fact that this man was playing them harder than a game of chess as nothing they seemed to do worked.
"At least that monster is destroyed… still, I have a monster you haven't seen Varis!" said person narrowed his eyes as he looked at her, knowing full well what is about to happen, "Soulburner watch in awe as I summon out my strongest monster yet!" the entire world greyed out as she was then struck with blue lightning as they all looked at her in shock, with the exception of Varis.
"I tune my Level 2 Cryomancer Of The Ice Barrier with my Level 2 Prior Of The Ice Barrier and Level 5 General Wayne Of The Ice Barrier!" Frostgirl said as her Cryomancer turned into 2 blue rings as the other two monsters turned into 2 and 5 rings respectfully as then they combined into 9 rings collectively on top of each other.
2 + 2 + 5 = 9!
Frostgirl then began to chant, "One with the wind, one with the snow, a heart that is frozen in absolute zero! Now, become the snow that drives the harshest blizzard! I Synchro Summon! Arrive, Level 9, Trishula, Dragon Of The Ice Barrier!" She roared out as they then felt the Data Storm turn into an actual blizzard that they had to cover themselves with as Varis stood tall as he made his suit resistant to both cold and hot temperatures at the same time while Soulburner covered himself in fire.
Only Soulburner was in shock at what was summoned next. It was a Hydra of every word, the monster having three heads at once as they all worked around each other. The wings were frozen and covered in ice, the head being that of a dragon with a yellow gem on the forehead, with the claws being sharper than a blade, feet that were colder than the Arctic, as there parts of the skin that were the colour of a cold sea. The monster roared in might, as Flame stood up proudly at what he saw.

To those that were able to even see the duel were at in shock and awe at the mere power of this one Synchro Summon in the Data Storm as the monster changed the entire look of the Tower In Hanoi. Trishula was known as one of the strongest Synchro monsters in the entire game and to see it being summoned in a high stakes duel was no short of amazing. The only one that could even rival it right now is Borreload Savage Dragon.
Soulburner stood in shock at what his girlfriend managed to do. He always knew that she was strong, no doubt, but to even summon one of the strongest Synchro monsters in the entire game and with that much was nothing less than-
"Beautiful." that is what he could say at that moment.
Varis looked at the monster in anger as he remembered it being the very monster that defeated his comrade Specter in battle as he will make sure that won't be the case for him in any chance that she will get.
"Here is Trishula's effect! When he is summoned on the field, he can banish up to 1 card from your hand, field and graveyard! So I hope you love saying goodbye to your Topologic Trisbaena, Rokket Tracer and the card on the far left! Absolute Zero!" roared Frostgirl.
The right head shot the beam of ice straight towards Rokket Tracer, making the monster turned into ice particles, then Topologic Trisbaena appeared on the field only to be shot from the left head straight at the chest like before, only for it to transform into snow and ice participles and then the middle chest shot a beam straight towards Varis' far left card, which revealed itself to be Pre-Preparation of Rites.
"Oh hell yes! You are the man! Well, a woman, but you know what I mean." said Soulburner as Frostgirl giggled at that.
"I get it, don't worry." Frostgirl then took a card from her hand, "I will then set a card facedown." a card was set vertically behind Trishula before looking at her Fairy Meteor Crush before turning her attention to her enemy.
"Battle! Trishula, Dragon Of The Ice Barrier attacks your Magnarokket Dragon with Absolute Zero!" All three heads from Trishula then aligned all three of their heads straight at his enemy as then they all shot powerful beams of ice straight towards Magnarokket Dragon as Varis covered himself as the monster turned into ice and then exploded right after that.

Frostgirl sighed, "With that, I end my turn."
"Since you finished your turn, I can activate Magnarokket Dragon's effect! I can special summon 1 Rokket Dragon from my deck during the End Phase!" a card appeared on the top of Varis' deck as he then took it, "Come out, Metalrokket Dragon!"
On his side of the field, a dragon with dark blue armor appeared with 3 sets of neon green wings on the back, as it had black parts around the blue parts of the lower part of the body, with sharp gray claws, a red bullet on the top of its head rose on the field in defense mode.

Turn 6. Varis - 3900 lp - 3 cards
Despite Varis being a clear disadvantage having less than half of his life points and having no almost no monsters to even speak of, Varis should be quaking in his boots, but instead he stood proudly like nothing even bothered him.
"Okay… can this guy even be scared?" asked Soulburner as they looked at him.
"We are about to find out." said Flame as they braced themselves for his next turn.
"You may think that you fought well and pushed me in a corner, but there was no corner to even speak of! I draw!" yelled Varis as he drew the top card of his deck as he then grew a sadistic grin. "I play Soul Release!" yelled Varis as the card materialized in front of them, "This card lets me banish any 5 cards from either of our graveyards, so I choose your Dark Sorcery Of The Ice Barrier, Salamangreat Balelynx, Dewloren of The Ice Barrier, Salamangreat Heatleo and Salamangreat Fang!"
From Frostgirl's graveyard appeared 2 cards as from Soulburner's appeared 3 cards as they all turned straight towards Varis as they turned into data, making the Data Storm even stronger. "Oh come on! I can not play that counter once." said Frostgirl.
"You really thought we would hand a strong card that could counter us with no plans of stopping it ourselves? You are quite foolish, but not as foolish as the idea of you surviving this duel! Appear, Rokket Synchron!" They nearly fell over their duelboards once they heard that monster that helped out beating Gore was summoned in this duel as well.
It was a blue dragon with a short green bullet at the top, with sharp white claws that were like drills, with a long tail that had a neon blue light at the end of it, filled with green data, as the armour was bulky. It had a pair of 6 neon blue wings around the massive monster and to make it worse, it's name wasn't just a coincidence.

Frostgirl covered her mouth in horror as she knew exactly where this was going as Soulburner gripped his fists into a ball, hating seeing that monster and what he did against their friend in that duel. Flame tried to find the perfect counter to fight back against that monster.
"When Rokket Synchron is Normal Summoned, I can special summon 1 Level 5 or higher Dark Dragon monster on my side of the field in defense mode!" yelled Varis as then a portal appeared around him as then a dark dragon appeared from it as Varis grinned seeing a combo with his monsters.
From it, Noctovision Dragon appeared on the field.

"Oh byte! He has just enough for him to Synchro Summon that savage beast! Or even worse, he could Fusion Summon that one monster that defeated Gore! Which option will he choose?!" yelled Flame as Varis smirked seeing their enemies in terror.
"The option: is neither! I manifest my circuit!" They all looked at him in complete shock as from the data around his arms made it so that he threw it in the air as from it a massive circuit appeared. "The Summoning Method are 2 Level 4 or lower Dragon monsters, except Tokens, so I set my Rokket Synchron and Metalrokket Dragon in the Link Arrows!" yelled Varis as the two monsters flew into the Link Arrows.
"He is not Synchro or Fusion Summoning?!" they gasped in horror as the man continued with no trouble whatsoever.
"I Link Summon! Link-2, Twin Triangle Dragon!" On Varis' Left Extra Monster Zone appeared a monster that was used against Soulburner. It was a brown coloured dragon with sharp yellow claws and horns, as there is some red skin on the dragon as the hands were that of a purple triangle.

"Wait, you Link Summoned instead of Fusion or Synchro Summoning?!" yelled Soulburner in shock as Varis grinned.
"Well if you are blind, then yes, I did those things." said Varis.
"But why? You could've had a powerful monster that could destroy Trishula." said Frostgirl.
"Why? It is simple for 3 reasons. 1. I don't have any Link monsters in my graveyard, so summoning out Borreload Savage Dragon would be pointless since he wouldn't have a single effect." Varis raised his index finger and then his middle finger, "2. I simply didn't draw into my Rapid Trigger." then, his ring finger was raised, "3. I want to make sure that you realize there are no ways of winning this duel." Varis explained as he pushed up his arm upwards.
"I activate Twin Triangle Dragon's effect! By paying 500 of my life points, I can special summon 1 Level 5 or higher monster in my graveyard next to its Link! However, its effects are negated and it can not attack." said Varis as then a card popped out of his duel disk as he then took it. "Come out, Absorouter Dragon!" yelled Varis as on his field appeared a powerful monster.
It was his Absorouter Dragon.

"Now… it is time for me to manifest my circuit for the second and last time! For my ace!" they all paled as Varis threw out a punch made out data as then a circuit appeared over them. "The Summoning Conditions are at least 3 Effect Monsters, so I set my Link-2 Twin Triangle Dragon, Noctovision Dragon and Absorouter Dragon in the Link Arrows!" all three monsters turned into tornados as they flew straight towards the circuit.
Varis then began to chant, "My new wind that pierces through the closed world as a new bullet of destruction is born! I Link Summon! Appear now! Link-4, Borreload Dragon!" On Varis' side of the field appeared the monster that was his ace in the hole, his favourite monster, his favourite weapon of destruction. The monster was taller than Trishula, making the monster crawl back a few meters. It spread its Neon green dragon wings, as the arms were that of a revolver, the neck and chest being that of a revolver as well, with him having a long red tail with blue coding all around the monster, as the shoulders were that of a dispenser as the dragon had long black horns with blue coding.

"Oh my goddess!" yelled Frostgirl as she placed a hand over her hand as she wasn't expecting that monster in any of their duels. She turned to see Soulburner and Flame, all looking at the monster like it was a monster from their nightmares as they remembered the time he easily stole their strongest Link-4 monster with ease.
That wasn't just his reaction, as everyone were staring at the monster in complete shock. SOL Tech were looking at Kiyoshi's kid with slight amusement as he was getting stronger with each and passing duel, Akira dropped his phone as he and Skye were on the edge of their seat looking at the monster, Shima nearly dropped his tablet, Yusaku and Kolter were looking at the monster in fear as they weren't expecting a monster with that much power as even The Shepherd looked at it with wide eyes.
"Frostgirl… please tell us you have something against this thing." to Flame, and everyone else's horror, she shook her head.
"Please a simple card can not defeat this beast! Two effects go off at the same time! First, since Noctovision Dragon was used for a Link Summon, I get to draw 1 card from my deck," a card appeared on his deck as he then took it, "Now, since Absorouter Dragon was sent to the graveyard, I can add 1 Rokket Dragon from my deck to my hand." a card appeared on his duel disk as he then took it as it was now in his hand.
"I set a card face down," a card was set vertically behind Borreload Dragon as the monster glared at everyone. "Now… Battle! Borreload Dragon, attack Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!" The monster opened its maw as then from it, emerged a cannon that began to morph higher and higher as then electricity began to appear and shuffle all around the attack, as then it was shot straight towards Trishula.
That was Frostgirl's last thing she should be worried about as Varis continued, "Now, I activate my Borreload Dragon's effect! The monster it is battling against will be now in my control as the attack is negated! Strange Trigger!" the electricity then turned into a bullet that went straight towards Trishula as to everyone's horror, Trishula was now at the same field as Borreload Dragon and Varis.
"WHAT?!" was the roar of almost everyone in the world.
"Now, let's see how you like an attack from Trishula! This is for Specter! Absolute Zero!" roared Varis as then all three heads went around the body as from their maws, ice began to merge in their mouths as from it, all three heads shot the beam of absolute zero, making the Data Storm go haywire as they went through the entire thing from that single attack as the attacks landed on her and she was now on her knees, coughing.
Frostgirl and Soulburner: 6500 - 3800 lp

"KI- FROSTGIRL! Are you alright?!" Soulburner flew straight towards her to check upon any injuries as he then sigh in relief as he saw that she was fine. He then turned around, "How could you do that?! You are going to pay!"
"How? Well, like I said, karma. Not to mention, me? Going to pay? Let's see about that." Varis swiped his hand to reveal 3 cards as he picked on one of them, "I play Quick Summon! I can normal summon even during the Battle Phase, as this monster will require 2 tributes and I think almost everyone knows this monster." His tone was almost as menacing as the two dragons turned into data.
The Leader Of The Hanoi grabbed the card, "I Tribute Summon! Cracking Dragon!" The monster that caused carnage in Link VRAINS during their first meeting was now in the Last meeting. The dragon was larger than most as the magnificent being as the metallic skin was dark as the abyss, spikes were all around the dragon as there were green codding around the monster, as the orbs were that of dark green. The monster roared in power.

"The very monster that you first fought in Link VRAINS will be the last monster you will ever see in Link VRAINS… isn't that poetic?" asked Varis with a grin on his face, "Truly, this is one of the history books as time won't remember you. Battle! Cracking Dragon attacks you directly! Traffic Blast!" yelled Varis as then from the mouth appeared a massive green ball of energy as it was then shot straight towards both Frostgirl and Soulburner, as Flame tried to get some cover from that.
Frostgirl and Soulburner: 3800 - 800 lp
Varis: 3400 lp
Not only has the entire duel perspective changed in one turn, but the life points were changed and it was near impossible for the two to even win the duel. Cracking Dragon deals 200 points of damage for every Level of a monster summoned, so he could only summon a Level 3 monster at the max.
"Destiny has chosen its winner, and that winner is me! I end my turn!" yelled Varis, quite satisfied at what he had done. Kiyoshi smiled at his son, but quickly felt that his heart rate was getting lower and lower by the minute as he clenched his chest, but continued on, to see his son win.

Turn 7. Soulburner - 800 lp - 4 cards
"Okay… this just got bad." said Soulburner as they saw Varis look at the field, flipped the table and shot the other player as he made a comeback of the century as Cracking Dragon was flying around him ready to strike him down at any moment it has. The monster that he summoned was practically the Knights Of Hanoi and Soulburner nostalgia ride as it was the first monster ever summoned against him.
It was a powerful monster which can not be destroyed by monsters with a lower level and can deal damage for a monster summoned, as it deals 200 per level. Meaning Violet Chimera and Emerald Eagle are out of the question as even Blaze Dragon and Miragestellio can not be summoned as it would deal him damage before that. The only monsters left that can be summoned are his Link Monsters.
The monster was so simple, yet strong. It was kind of poetic way as the monster that he destroyed the first time he was on TV would be his downfall. He looked as he frowned, not seeing a way out of this duel and around that powerful Level 8 monster.
"Soulburner, I hope you are not mopping like a mop as you shouldn't be like that in the first place," Soulburner turned to Flame, "You were in much tougher situations than this, twice by the same person over there. You can't just think that you can lose when you still have a chance." said Flame as Soulburner smiled at him.
"What are you saying? That I was about to give up? Good joke, Flame, as I am just getting fired up!" said Soulburner as Flame looked at him in a more calm manner.
"That is good to hear as we have one trick left in our sleeves that he won't expect." said Flame as he and Soulburner smiled at the same time.
"Right."
"Our new Skill." both of them said at the same time as Varis narrowed his eyes at them.
"New Skill? The last time I checked both of you have at least 2 Skills, Burning Draw and Storm Access, neither of them will help in this match!" yelled Varis as Soulburner grinned at his rival and enemy.
"That may be true until today! My buddy over here made a new Skill specifically for this duel!" yelled Soulburner as Varis gasped hearing that. Fire then began to appear all over Soulburner and Flame, "Are you ready, Flame?! For our new Skill?!" yelled Soulburner as he began to show off his fire hotter than The Sun.
"Ready! Let's go!"
"I activate our Skill! Neo Burning Access!" roared Soulburner as then Flame clapped his hands together as then from it, emerged a small ball of fire, as then it began to grow and grow into a massive gale made out the strongest and the hottest tornado to ever walk on the planet as they all watched in shock as the man stood tall against every odd there was.
[Neo Burning Access: Skill - If your Life Points are lower than 1000: Once per duel, add 1 random Cyberse Monster from The Data Storm into your Extra Deck and if it were a Salamangreat Monster, you can add up to three Copies of the same monster.]

"Access?!" both Varis and Frostgirl were in shock to hear that as they all covered themselves from the massive Fire Data Storm in front of them. Varis created data that absorbed the attack as Frostgirl created ice that made the heat work less on her, but they still had to struggle against the massive heatstroke that was happening.
"That's right! This new Skill of ours is similar to that of Storm Access in many ways, but there are 2 differences! The first is that it can add any random Cyberse monster from the Data Storm, not just Link monsters!" yelled Soulburner making Varis grit his teeth as Flame crossed his arms like it didn't even affect him.
"The other is that no matter what type of monster, if it were a Salamangreat Monster that we just added, we can Reincarnate that, also meaning that we can add up to 3 copies of that monster!" Varis gasp as he took a step backwards from what Flame said as he turned to his origin, "Soulburner! The stronger the Data Storm is, the stronger the monster is!" yelled Flame as Soulburner nodded.
"Right on! Let's do this!" yelled Soulburner as then he placed his arm at the Fire Data Storm as Flame began to heat up his entire body.
"Bring the Heat, Soulburner!" yelled Flame as Soulburner grinned.
"I…" Soulburner nearly cursed his entire being as his arms were nearly ripped off from the massive storm as his eyes were bulging out of his skull, but he had to continue. Not just for him. For Kiku, for Flame, for Seigen and for Gore! He will continue to push through! "BURNING DRAW!" roared Soulburner as then he added a single card from the storm straight to his Extra Deck.
He looked over at the monster and to his shock, there were the copies of the same Synchro Monster. He gasped as he briefly read the name, "Salamangreat Freezing Unicorn? Well, happy for you to join the team!" the cards disappeared and so did the Data Storm inside of a Data Storm.
"SOULBURNER, WHAT ON EARTH?! ARE YOU OKAY?!" yelled Frostgirl as she flew straight towards him to check on any injury.
"Frostgirl, I am fine. Don't worry." Soulburner then reacted as then Frostgirl pulled him by his cheek.
"Okay?! You call being in a raging hurricane okay?!" she yelled in shock.
"Hey, hey. Don't react like that, you were in a Data Storm for your skill as well!" said Soulburner.
"Mine wasn't made out of fire and wasn't triple the size of it! How can you say that was alright?!" yelled Frostgirl as Soulburner gently got her hand out of his face.
"A Data Storm is no pushover, when you got into that, I got a heartattack that you might've got hurt." said Soulburner as Frostgirl looked at him.
"Like you didn't give me just right about now?!" before they continue arguing, Flame coughed up some fake air into his hands.
"As much as I love to hear you two bicker like an old married couple, I would like to inform you that A. our biggest enemy is watching us," They turned to see Varis looking at them with an amused look on his face, "B. we are still in a Data Storm and finally C. We have about 2 hours 10 minutes before Tower Of Hanoi is finished loading." said Flame as he then turned to them with a look that basically said, "Hurry the fuck up."
"R-Right."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to react like that…"
"H-Hey! It is fine, you don't have to beat yourself up about it." said Frostgirl and Soulburner as they got into position. There was an awkward silence after that.
"That was awkward." said Varis.
"Yeah…" the fact that these two were agreeing with their biggest enemy says a lot.
"Still! I have a couple of tricks left in me, so here we go! I draw!" yelled Soulburner as he looked at his hand and a card in his hand as he nodded, "You made a mistake not banishing my Sunlight Wolf, as now, I will activate Rising Fire!" Soulburner yelled as then a card appeared around them.
"If I control no monsters on my side of the field, I can special summon 1 Fire monster from my graveyard! So come on out, Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf!" As then, a fiery portal appeared around him, as from it, emerged Sunlight Wolf.

"Now, I will summon out my Flame Bufferlo!" For the second time during this duel, appeared Flame Bufferlo on Soulburner's field.

"You fool! You just activated my Cracking Dragon's effect! Your monster loses 200 attack points for every level it has and you lose life points equal to the amount it lost! Crack Fall!" yelled Varis as then it shot a powerful blast of green energy straight towards at the monster as then from it, was shot towards Soulburner and Frostgirl.
Flame Bufferlo: 1400 - 800 attack points
Frostgirl and Soulburner: 800 - 200 lp
Varis: 3400 lp
"If you think that would be enough to slow our roll, then you are gravely mistaken! Isn't that right, Soulburner?!" yelled Flame as Soulburner grinned.
"That's right buddy! I blaze the circuit!" From the tip of his fingers appeared fire as then it went straight towards the sky, creating a circuit. "The Summoning Conditions is 1 Level 4 or Lower Cyberse monster! So I set my Flame Bufferlo in the Link Arrows!" His lone Fire Cyberse Main Deck monster flew at the bottom Link Arrow.
"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-1, Salamangreat Balelynx!" Yelled Soulburner as then for the second time, appeared the same cat with a torch for a tail, with green, yellow, red, orange and gray skin with an emerald gem stone on its forehead as it was on the Left Extra Monster zone.

"Like in the previous turn, 2 effects go off at the same time! First, since Flame Bufferlo left the field, we can discard 1 Cyberse monster from our hand to draw 2 cards from our deck!" yelled Flame as Soulburner discarded Salamangreat Salamandra as he picked up the top 2 cards from his deck.
"Then, Balelynx activates their effect! When he is Link Summoned, I can add 1 Salamangreat Sanctuary from my deck straight to my hand!" yelled Soulburner as he added the popped out card from his deck. He then looked over his hand as it consisted of 2 Sanctuaries, 1 Normal Spell card that might come in handy and 2 Salamangreat monsters.
"Alright, I guess I will use my hand! I activate the Field Spell, Salamangreat Sanctuary!" Soulburner activated his Field Spell, but nothing changed. "Then, since I Link Summoned this turn, I can special summon Salamangreat Mole from my hand right next to Balelynx's Link Arrow!"
On his field appeared a small mole as its claws were on fire, as it was a brown mole, wearing gray armour around its shoulders, head, legs and back that had a spike on top of it, with its eyes being green and having a large line on the back.

Varis gritted his teeth for 2 Reasons: 1. Salamangreat Mole has no attack points and even though it would be just enough to defeat them, it won't work since a monster first has to lose attack points. 2. He knew all too well at what he is going to summon out next and it was a monster that even he couldn't predict.
Soulburner's fist was now on fire, "Let's go, Flame! I blaze the circuit for the second time!" He threw out a punch as then a circuit appeared on the field, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Fire Effect monsters, so I set my Salamangreat Mole, Link-1 Salamangreat Balelynx and Link-2 Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf in the Link Arrows!" All three of his monsters then flew straight towards the Link Arrows as Sunlight Wolf turned into 2 tornadoes.
Soulburner then began to chant, "As from the ashes of all the fallen monsters, a true phoenix's might is born as the true potential of the wielder is created! I Link Summon! Descend, Link-4, Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" the man yelled out in power as then for the first time in public Link VRAINS fashion, they saw Soulburner's strongest monster and his only Link-4. The heat was so hot that Cracking Dragon flew towards Varis to stop that.
They looked in awe at their power. The monster was a slim, almost human physique, as the monster's skin was that of a crimson blood coloured armour monster, as the head was that of a phoenix, the shoulders were massive in spikes, as the monster had a flame signature at the back, with a cape at his behind area with three spikes around the feet. The arms were that of a fighting warrior. The monster screeched in power.

The people of today watched in shock and in awe at the monster as Shima nearly fell of his chair, SOL Tech watching this duel with their narrowed eyes as Shuku continued to hack into the system, Yusaku thinking if he could have his own Link-4 Cyberse monster with that much power as Skye looked at it in awe, Akira straightened his back as he remembered the monster that defeated him.
However, the one that was the most shocked is without doubt, Frostgirl as she continued to watch the monster floating around in a powerful glow as the mere presence shook all of Link VRAINS as she continued to see what her boyfriend was capable of doing in a short time as it was nothing more than-
"Amazing." that is what all that Frostgirl could said at the moment.
"Your bet your sweet butt it is, as this monster has a great effect to deal some heavy damage! Pyro Phoenix can resurrect 1 Link Monster in my opponent's graveyard and deal him damage equal to the amount it has! Sacred Phoenix Blast!" roared Soulburner as then on Varis' side of the field then appeared a single monster and it was his ace.

Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix then clapped both of his hands together as from it, they can see a blaze appearing on both hands as then the ball of fire began to grow harder and harder with every passing second, as the monster's power was brimming with hope. The monster's attack was then shot straight towards Varis, point blank, hitting him.

"Clever…" Varis muttered under his breath as Flame pushed out his arm forward.
"Oh, ho! We are not done! We are just starting out! Salamangreat Sanctuary's effect activates! When we want to Link Summon a Salamangreat Link Monster, we can use the monster as the entire Link Material that shares the same name!" yelled Flame as then Soulburner's fist was now flowing with blue coloured flames.
"That's right! Because this circuit is the one that blazes into the future!" He threw out his hand as they watched as then a purple circle then appeared over them as it was filled with ruinics. "I use my Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix as the Entire Link Material of a monster! GO!" he yelled as then the monster flew straight towards the Link Circle as he will create his strongest monster.
Soulburner began to chant, "Pyro Phoenix! Let the flames engulf your body! Because from its ashes you will be reborn! Super Reincarnation Link Summon! Soar, Link 4! Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix!" From the circle, the monster shot itself straight towards the field, creating a small shockwave, pushing away from all the duelists and making it hard for them to watch to. Pyro Phoenix's armour was now a shinier version as it if were brand new, as the muscles were bigger, the flames around him were now blue as then his wings combined into one, as 4 of them were spread out, at the start it was dark blue which slowly turned into light blue and at the end, it was yellow. The monster looked like a brand new monster with the way it carried itself.

Borreload Dragon and Cracking Dragon all glared at the monster as they continued to stare at that new monster, as Varis looked down at his set card. He quickly turned to the heart monitor and sighed in relief as he was stable… for now. Varis then brought his attention towards the duel.
"Oh my gosh, it is somehow more majestic!" yelled in awe Frostgirl with stars in her eyes.
"You betcha! As this is my- no, our power combined into one!" yelled Soulburner as he stared at the source of his hidden power, his strength as a duelist remained in that monster.
"That's right, Soulburner! As this monster will bring the hammer of justice down! As his Reincarnation Effect goes into pl-"
"Before you could even continue on your foolish play, I play my Trap card! Mirror Shade! By paying half of my life points, I do not take a single point of damage for the rest of the turn!" Varis flinched as electricity went around his entire body as from it, a barrier was formed that protected him for the rest of the turn, even if their life points were now at an even pace.

"Well that goes with that plan." groaned Soulburner as Flame sighed.
"Well, there is nothing we can do about that fact, but there is something that we can still do! Activate Pyro Phoenix' Reincarnation's effect!" yelled Flame as they looked at the Fire Ignis with a smile on their faces.
"Right, let's destroy those two monsters! Go, Pyro Phoenix! Show off your strength by destroying Borreload and Cracking Dragon! Sacred Phoenix Bombarding!" Yelled Soulburner as Pyro Phoenix raised its hands up in the air like it was creating a Spirit Bomb as it took on the data around the entire arena which made the small ball of fire grow in size as the attack was getting larger! The ball of fire was now what appeared to be a planet of burning blue flames. Pyro Phoenix threw the ball straight towards Borreload and Cracking Dragon, despite their efforts, it wasn't enough to stop them from being destroyed and melted into data.
"Borreload Dragon! Cracking Dragon!" yelled Varis as he gritted his teeth as the barrier protected him from harm, as after a minute or so, they saw the man staring at them with a hard glare, "Now, you are all finished on my turn! You three are going to be decimated!" yelled The Leader Of The Knights Of Hanoi in a way that showed that wasn't something that he thinks will happen, but something that he knows will happen.
Soulburner looked at his hand and then at Frostgirl's set card. Both of them looked at each other before nodding to each other. "I call that a turn."

"This will be the end! I will make sure of it! All of you have made grave errors throughout the entire duel, but leaving me alone with less than 1000 life points was your biggest one! With this, I can activate my Skill!" yelled Varis as they gasped hearing that, but Flame looked at his arch enemy.
"Really now? I do not think such Skill is a good way to use it at the current moment, want to know why? This Data Storm is nothing this entire network has ever seen and the one that we created? Was weaker than that as even Soulburner struggled with that." said Flame as he looked at Varis, "Taking on this Data Storm for a Card will be a suicide mission, Varis."
"Quiet! If any of you can get a card from the Data Storm, then so can I!" yelled Varis as he sped off.
"Are you kidding me?! I nearly lost my arm during the weaker one!" yelled Frostgirl as Soulburner looked at him.
"What Flame said was right! You are not going to survive this!" yelled Soulburner as they then saw The Leader Of The Knights Of Hanoi fly towards the Data Storm's end.
Varis didn't listen to his enemies at that point. "In here, I will have a monster that will bring both of you two's end!" Varis slammed his fist into the storm, but his fist was reclined back, "It is so dense, I didn't expect that! No matter, what they can do, I can do it with a better chance!" yelled Varis as he threw his hand into the storm as he clenched every part of his body.
His body was screaming in pain, as his own muscles were basically crying as the storm's power was getting stronger with every passing second as his arm was going through the entire storm, making him grit his teeth as he could feel his body break into pieces. To their own horror, they saw Varis scream in agony as they saw what happened to him. His arm was ripped off.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" screamed Varis as he covered his arm in pain, screaming and cursing every word that he could make out of. His body was clenched, his muscles tensed up, his teeth were practically dust and his bones hurt just by moving them. Varis' entire being was in agony as they covered their mouth as they saw him in too much pain at the moment. To their shock, horror and awe, they saw Varis rise his head up, "I am not done. I will continue no matter what!"
They thought the man was insane, granted he was trying to destroy all of mankind's achievement in one day for 1 being, but the fact that he got his arm ripped out, screaming in agony and still fought back up to his feet, while clenching his feet into not giving up, not even for a moment?! They hate to say this, but they can respect to the way he was handling the entire thing as the man flew straight towards the same Data Storm like a bullet in the wind as-
Everything froze.
The debris that was flying around stopped in mid air, their duel boards stopped moving, the data around them came to a halt and more importantly, they felt the entire universe stop time.
"What happened?!"
"Did the serve freeze?!"
"Plug it out and back again!" yelled Soulburner, Frostgirl and Flame as they all saw the entire thing stop.
The one that was the most shocked was no other than Varis, as the man looked around. "What happened?! Why is everything frozen in place?!" yelled outloud Varis as he looked around, until he felt a familiar presence inside of Link VRAINS at that very moment. As all thoughts led to a stop.
"Ryoken." everyone stopped as they turned to see someone that only 1 person knew about.
"Father!? What are you doing here?!" yelled Varis as he looked at Kiyoshi Kogami as everyone looked at the man in shock for many reasons, as the higher ups in SOL Tech narrowed their eyes looking at the man that tried to kill of their greatest accomplishment, as the man appeared in the server.
Everyone continued to look at him with shocked expressions for several reasons. Yusaku and Skye looked at the man because they were the ones that brought them into that moment in their life, Akira and Kolter frowned seeing him as they knew what the man meant, as Soulburner and Frostgirl saw the man that they were fighting against and the person that made their life miserable and they even heard a shocking truth: Varis was the son that began the Lost Incident. Flame was looking at the man that wanted him and his friends dead, but was also the reason why they were even made.
"Father?! I asked you something, why are you here?! You know that being in Link VRAINS outside of the Hanoi Stronghold is dangerous for you. You shouldn't be outside! I don't want you to lose…." Varis gritted his teeth at his mistake.
"Ryoken… it is not the child nor the son's job to worry about their parent, it is quite the opposite, it is the parent's responsibility for the parent to look over their child at every step of the way and me seeing you in so much pain brings me with too much in my heart to stand back in the sideline as you are risking your life for this duel." said Kiyoshi as he closed his eyes.
Before Varis could even speak, Kiyoshi continued, "I can't stand to see my own son, the child that I had in my life that I swore to protect, risk his entire existence against his enemies to stop my biggest mistake, my error of creating the Ignis." Kiyoshi looked over at his son, "Ryoken, I will make sure that you will be safe, or at the very least, safer than before."
"Father, I appreciate your thoughts and care, but leave this to me! I can handle them without a problem!" yelled Vars, trying his best to sound composed.
"Ryoken… you lost your arm trying to get a card from the Data Storm, you know that I know when you are in pain. Your avatar has seen better days so I will assist you at all costs, no matter what it may cost me." said Kiyoshi as Varis swallowed the spit that was inside of his throat as he heard that.
"But, Father! If you do that, your own existence will be erased forever! Your only way of surviving what SOL Tech did to you will be all for nought, please don't do it!" yelled Varis as he looked at his dad with a shaky voice and with the way they heard him was unusual and it felt wrong, "Please… please don't die." said a boy that wants his dad to live.
"I am sorry, Ryoken, but I am afraid that won't be happening. If the Ignis wins this war then all that we fought for will mean nothing at the end, the life of 1 shouldn't be more valuable than a life of billions, Ryoken." said Kiyoshi as he began to turn into yellow data as Varis took several step backwards of fear.
"No, no, no, no, no, no." began Varis as he looked at his father with a scared look on his face as they were all shocked that he acts like this, showing that he is still human. "Don't please." he said in a low voice.
"Ryoken," Kiyoshi told him his real name for what might be his very last time, "I entrust you with everything that I have. Get the card that you desire with all of your heart and make sure to win for everyone. Good luck, son, I love you." said Kiyoshi as those were the last words that he will ever say in his life as the yellow data around him dispersed.
"FATHER!" yelled Varis as he ran up to him as then when he reached out, his father turned into yellow data as then he was covered in his father's data. He looked at his hand, that was shaking as he saw his father die in front of him. He got his other hand and it was shaking as well, even he began to breathe in and out faster as he couldn't catch his breath.
Breathe in and out. Breathe in and out. His arms were shaking as if he saw a car accident near him or that he was a part of one as he couldn't even register the outside world as they all became white noise to him, a constant ring in his ears as he didn't even see them trying to ask what was wrong to him. His whole world began to warp around as he became dizzy as he looked straight ahead and then, that is when he saw something.
"Is that… The Stardust Road?" asked Varis to himself as they turned where he was looking at and true to him, there was a road like a moon shining across the sapphire ocean right in front of them as they continued to watch it with pure awe in their eyes as they didn't even know how that was even possible. Even Bishop stopped to look at its beauty.
Varis, no. Ryoken has only seen the Stardust Road exactly once before with his father. He told him that those who see the Stardust Road with their very own eyes, will open up their eyes of their own Destiny as their lives will be filled with prosperity that will fill them for their entire life and this was the occasion that he saw the Stardust Road. Varis then looked at his hand as then he smiled.

"Father, I see it. The path of my destiny! As your strength will lead me to my victory against the Ignis as the winners will be THE KNIGHTS OF HANOI!" roared Varis as then the entire server began to move once more as he dashed on the Stardust Road, dashing throughout the Tower Of Hanoi and straight at the center of the storm.
"This is for everyone!" Varis thrusted his arm straight towards the center of the Data Storm, as the strength would ripped off more than his arm, rather, it would've ripped off his entire body, but he was withstooding all of the pain as if it didn't even matter to him as he continued to have his fist inside of the Data Storm, "GO! STORM ACCESS!" yelled Varis as his arm was lunged into the storm as he grabbed a single card from it, the strongest Cyberse monster that is willing to destroy it alongside him.
"Topologic Zeroboros? Thank you… for your assistance!" Said Varis as he got out of the storm as soon as possible as then the yellow data disappeared, "Father… this one is for you! I will win this duel! I draw!" yelled Varis as he drew the top card of his deck. The Leader Of The Knights of Hanoi looked at his newly drawn card and instantly played it.
"I activate my Field Spell, Boot Sector Launch!" Varis activated his signature Field Spell even though nothing changed. "With the bonus of my Rokket Dragons gaining 300 attack and defense points, it has 2 effects! I will choose the second one! I can revive one monster from my graveyard for every monster you have on the field! Since you control 1 monster, I can revive my Silverrokket Dragon!"
A bullet was shot from the ground as from it emerged Silverrokket Dragon.
(Silverrokket Dragon: Level 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1900. Defense: 100.)
Silverrokket Dragon: 1900 - 2200 attack/ 100 - 400 defense points
"I am not done! I will use the last card from my hand! Come out, Magnarokket Dragon!" on his field appeared a small dragon that had dark blue armour, white claws, red skin around its stomach, hands, head and neck, as it had 3 pairs of neon green wings, with it having green eyes and a small brown bullet on the top of its head.

Magnarokket Dragon: 1800 - 2100 attack/ 1200 - 1500 defense points
All three of them suddenly felt a massive feeling of dread, something telling them that this time, Varis will not stop at anything to finish them off in a duel. Right here and now as they realized one thing.
"He has 2 Level 4 monsters on his side of the field." said Flame in horror as he realized what will happen.
"He can XYZ Summon as well?!" yelled in shock Frostgirl as Varis was a master of Ritual, Link, Synchro, Fusion and XYZ Summoning.
"That's right! I will set the Overlay Network, as I Overlay my Level 4 Magnarokket Dragon and my Level 4 Silverrokket Dragon!" Varis spread his arms out as the images of the cards appeared right next to them as he combined them together. Once he did, Varis threw his arm forward as then what appeared to be a galaxy forming behind him with green data forming with every second, covering every part of Link VRAINS, including the Tower Of Hanoi.
A machine appeared on his side of the field as they combined the two monsters on his side of the field as Varis began to chant, "When steel and darkness synergize into one, the portal to the edge of the universe opens to invite its solitary denizen! I XYZ Summon! Rank 4! Borreload eXcharge Dragon!" The Leader Of The Knights Of Hanoi roared out as from the machine arrived a monster that had no equal.
On his field was a massive dragon as it was the same size as his Borreload Dragon, but there were several differences. Its wings were now neon red coloured, as the horns were that of a bull, not to mention red. The backside of his head was more showing as it was yellow, it has a scar on its left eye, with green coding all around the monster. Its wings were that of a shield that protected all from it with the colouring being gray including his thighs, arms and feet. It had a red X on its chest. There were 2 black Overlay Units around the monster.
(Borreload eXcharge Dragon: XYZ - Rank 4 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 3000. Defense: 2500.)
"Oh my goodness!" yelled Frostgirl as she took several step backwards.
"How do you have this many good monsters?! It should be studied!" yelled Soulburner as Flame continued to look at the monster.
"This man. Varis, wait no, Ryoken, if that is his real name, is the toughest person I have ever seen in my entire life. He can Synchro Summon into an Omni Negate, Fusion Summon into a monster that can destroy a different monster, Ritual Summon into a monster that can negate summons, XYZ Summon into this and Link Summon into monsters that can wipe away the board no matter what. He is a different breed of a human." Flame thought to himself as he continued to look at Ryoken until 1 thing dawned at him.
"Wait a minute! Guys! Look! Look at the attack points!" yelled Flame as the two looked at the monster and they realized it instantly. Borreload eXcharge Dragon has 3000 attack points, Pyro Phoenix has 2800 attack points, which is exactly enough for Varis to win the duel by dealing 200 points of damage.
"Wait, if this connects-"
"We lose!" yelled the two as Varis grinned like no other.
"Thank you two for observing your demise! As this is for Genome, Baira, Faust, Specter and for my father! Battle! Borreload eXcharge Dragon attacks and destroys your Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix! Borrel Cannon Of Supremacy!" yelled Varis as his monster unfolded its wings as from them, massive pairs of cannons on each side appeared on the monster as the monster opened up its maw as then another cannon appeared from it as then they began to charge up a red blast of energy, "FIRE!"
Right when Varis announced his attack, Frostgirl turned to her boyfriend, "Play my Trap, now!"
"But, it might-"
"No buts Soulburner, we are going to force out a draw wherever you like or not!" yelled Flame as Soulburner sighed as he pushed out his arm forward.
"Right. I play Frostgirl's set card! High Speed Aria!" The Set card revealed itself, "We can activate this card by sending 1 Normal Spell card from my hand to the graveyard as then, we can activate the Spell card's effect! I discard my Tempest Fire!" yelled Soulburner as he discarded his Normal Spell card to the graveyard as High Speed Aria was now on fire.
"The card that I discarded, Tempest Fire, activates its effect. I can target 1 Fire monster I control with the lowest attack, which is only my Pyro Phoenix and destroy it!" Soulburner yelled out as his strongest monster screeched out in agony, "That is not all! Both of us take damage equal to the targeted monster's original Attack points, so you know what that means… All of us are going to lose!" yelled Soulburner.
"You are forcing out a draw!?" yelled Varis as Flame yelled out.
"You did that against us so consider that payback!" yelled Flame as then Pyro Phoenix was now set ablaze. The fire wasn't the regular orange, yellow and red, no, it was instead a combination of purple, blue and yellow as the colours wrapped each other as the monster began to form into a jet in the shape of a phoenix as well, ready to take down all of his enemies.
"If I am going down, I am taking you out with me!" roared Varis as when Pyro Phoenix charged straight towards Borreload eXcharge Dragon with the speed of lightning, the monster roared out as all of the cannons shot straight towards the phoenix. Both attacks clashed, neither overpowering the other as they were blown back at the attack being countered by the other as they covered their eyes from that as the struggle continued. After a few seconds, Pyro Phoenix used all of its remaining power to blitz Borreload eXcharge Dragon, slicing the dragon into two as the monster exploded once it did that.
Borreload eXcharge Dragon wasn't finished just yet, as its rage was not fulfilled as it shot an energy beam from the mouth towards one of the duelists as when it did, it made the duelist fall out of their duel board.

"TEDDY! FLAME!" the two quickly shot their heads at the person that Borreload eXcharge Dragon shot at: Kiku. She was falling down from the attack from the massive XYZ monster. They looked down in horror as they realized what was going to happen as Varis watches.
"KIKU!" yelled Soulburner as Flame screamed.
"OH NO! FROSTGIRL!" yelled Flame as he turned to see Varis and then back at the Tower Of Hanoi and to his horror, the 4th ring was completed. "Soulburner, the 4th- WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
Flame was cut off guard as Soulburner jumped off his duel board as he knew it would be faster to save her from falling as Frost- no, Kiku was trying her best to catch onto anything before turning into data as Varis watches with narrowed eyes, seeing him helpless in this state.
"I have to save her, that is what I am trying to do!" yelled Soulburner as he was falling down to save his girlfriend, however much to his shock, he was cut in mid air. His mind was frozen as he tried to register who tried to save him, as he saw that Flame wasn't in his duel disk, but rather on the duelboard, trying his best so he doesn't fall off the duelboard.
"FLAME, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" yelled Soulburner in desperation as Flame is doing his hardest not to fall over.
"Soulburner! Please stop trying to resist! I don't want to lose you, please!" yelled Flame as Soulburner then stopped flailing around to get to her as he sighed.
"Sorry, but I can't stop doing it because she is going to fall!" yelled Soulburner as tears came out of his eyes as he looked down to see her falling. It felt like the entire world was slowing down in his perspective as nothing he could do was going to work out as he shot out fire in the sliver of hope he can do it, he can save her, but that didn't work out.
"TEDDY!"
"KIKU! I WILL COME! I WILL SAVE YOU!" tried that all that he could, Soulburner couldn't get out off Flame's binding as the Ignis used data to form more stability so they don't fall over.
"TEDDY!" yelled Kiku as then once she landed to the edge of the storm, she was starting to turn into data rapidly as her last words were this: "SAVE ME!" as then, she was forever gone to the wind, turning into data for the Tower Of Hanoi.
The viewers gasped watching this, many covered their mouths in shock and in horror, some even turned the TV off. The higher ups in SOL Tech were watching the entirety with interest in their mind as Varis looked over with a frown on his face. Flame stared in horror at the Data Storm took their friend, their last friend before the Tower Of Hanoi is activated.

He looked in shock, as he was paralyzed in shock at what happened in a few seconds. His eyes started to shrink, his hands began to shake as the words in his mouth died along with any remaining sanity in his mind, his breathing began to hitch, barely even getting any oxygen as his mind was in one spot only, no matter how much Flame tries to snap out of him from that.
Once he got on the duelboard all he could do is stare into the abyss, "Kiku…" Soulburner barely said it louder than a whisper as his entire body began to shake. Soulburner slammed his fists into the duelboard, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he yelled, his scream filling all of Link VRAINS as a whole.
"Soulburner…" Flame got onto the duel disk and tried to calm him down, noticing that his fists were so clenched up that his fists began to bleed and he could hear him grind his teeth in anger.
"Now, you know how it feels like. What Karma tastes like…" they all turned upwards to see Varis looking at him with narrowed eyes, "I am sorry for your loss, but it was inevitable. Like our final match."
Soulburner quickly raised his hand, as they saw his eyes were red as there were tears in his eyes, "SHUT UP!" He threw out a punch that was made out of fire straight towards Varis as the man merely walked to a different direction as the ball of fire missed. "You damn Knights of Hanoi! All of this happened because you guys! Everything that has happened in Link VRAINS is all because of you! You know, what?! I am tired! I am tired all of you!" yelled Soulburner as Varis wasn't phased.
"I see… I guess, we will see each other later, if you know where I am that is." Varis turned around as he began to log out, "I am going to pay a visit to him. Father." he said with so much sadness in his voice that it made Soulburner snap out for a few moments. Soulburner looked down on his duelboard, unable to even think about what happened in a span of a few hours, everything went to shit in a short amount of time.
Before he could even react to the debris that was flying straight towards him, Flame looked over and widened his eyes, "I am sorry, Soulburner, but we have to leave now! I am using the emergency exit, NOW!" Flame pressed a button on Soulburner's duel disk as then both him and Flame disappeared as the falling debris landed on another rock.
They were out of Link VRAINS for good.
Once the two logged back in, in Seigen's apartment, they all looked around to see the two people that they lost in this war, additionally The Gore. Seigen Futai and Kiku Kamishirakawa. The two looked on in anger at what happened in a short amount of time, disgustingly short amount of time.
In the span of only 4 hours, he managed to lose Ghost Gal, someone that sure he couldn't rely on, but knew that no matter what, she was only doing something for others, The Gore, someone that was actually friendly to others, would helpout people in need as well as the kids in the orphanage at every waking moment he could get just to see those kids smile.
Not to mention, two of the most important people in his life.
Seigen Futai, his best friend for his entire life, the man that he could count on the most, someone that went through the same thing as him when they were 5 - 6 years old, someone that no matter what, he could believe and trust in as he was there when she was in a coma and it felt so horrible to even think about that he was gone like that and even worse? Theodore didn't even get to say goodbye.
Kiku Kamishirakawa, his girfriend, a person that he loved to all of his heart's content, someone that was there for him and vice versa, someone that was kind and gentle, understanding even, patient and she was a person that Theodore thought that he could spend his… entire life with.
However, that was never going to happen. All because of the Tower Of Hanoi and that bastard Varis. Theodore placed his hands first on Seigen's face and then on Kiku's after a few moments. Wishing that they were here.
Flame jumped upwards, "Theodore, I know that this is not the right thing to say at this moment, but I think I have a lead on where Varis could live, or shall I say, Ryoken, lives in!" yelled the Fire Ignis as Theodore kept looking at Kiku's face while holding her face.
"What is it?" he asked in a sorrowful tone in his voice which made Flame frown upon.
"Remember what they said about the Stardust Road? Well, I have looked up where the location is! It is in Den City, a long way from here, in Kogami Household, which makes it… the place where Ryoken could possibly be at! It isn't enough of a lead though, but it is better than nothing." said Flame as then, Theodore stood up.
"Alright, Flame, let's do it." Flame turned to his partner as he saw his origin, with his short silver-red hair and contacts, looking at him with a determined look on his face, "Let's take this guy out! We only have 2 hours left!" yelled Theodore.

Theodore opened the door, got in, put his seatbelt on, "Hi, excuse me, sir, but could you drive me to the Kogami Household? In Den City? As fast as you legally could go?" asked Theodore as he tried to catch his breath.
"Kid, I am sorry, but I am afraid that it is a long way and during this time? What is currently happening in Link VRAINS? Sorry, bu-"
The taxi driver was cut off as Theodore got out his wallet and placed his money on the counter, shocking the taxi driver, "Please, I beg of you. I need to do this." said Theodore with a serious tone as the taxi driver nodded.
"Sure thing, kid." said the taxi driver as they sped towards the Kogami Household, where a boy that was 18 years old was staring at his deceased father with sorrowful look on his eye.
The war was ending today.

MAN, THAT WAS INTENSE, HUH?! Hope you guys enjoyed that! That was a total of almost 21k words worth of my story! That was amazing and I hope you guys enjoyed it as this was a pain in the ass to write as you guys have no idea how much this affected me right now. So many times fixing the duel in production, trying to figure out how to approach this as best as I could and trying to make it as believable as possible.
I am glad at how Varis was used. With him summoning Borrelcode, Trisbaena, Cracking Dragon and Twin Triangle Dragon for the last time in this Season. Not to mention we finally see eXcharge Dragon in this duel, a pretty cool monster, and it was funny that Varis could've used his effect to summon Borreload, but still resulting in the same result. Soulburner was fine to write as he had a pretty decent hand, but Frostgirl, baby, why is your deck like that? Ice Barriers either have a broken as hell cards or complete dog shit cards, not including the God Like Synchro Monsters.
The Duel in canon? Was fine honestly. Varis had a horrible selection of cards as only Gumblar Dragon and Drop Draco were remotely interesting as he never uses these things ever again, but I do love the Mirror Force usage as Yusaku getting my boy Transcode Talker is always welcoming. The story part of the duel was fine, a little stale, but completely fine.
We first get the higher ups from SOL Tech and even getting some background on these guys, but most importantly, Shuku Koduku aka Bishop as I have an interesting idea for him as he is a combination of Coyote Starrk from Bleach and a bad timeline Akira Zaizen. His design will most likely be that of Starrk. He is the best in coding as well as being a bit of a sleepy head which is why he doesn't react as much as the others.
Now, we have some death scenes aka Kiyoshi Kogami and Kiku Kamishirakawa. Before you ask, one of them is permanent. Kiyoshi's death is something that I think should've been handled a bit better than in Canon so I hope you guys think I did a good job at it, I do hope so. Also, no spoilers, but in a way, he is kinda of a Hero in this fic, but still a bad person as I do think that he truly cares about Ryoken. Kiku is something that I decided on while writing this scene. Why? Because of the stakes. I can't just have Kiku sit on the couch while her boyfriend almost dies dueling Ryoken, no, I have to raise the stakes and I hope I did well with how Soulburner reacted.
During writing this, I finished reading the GX Manga, caught up at the OCG Structures Manga and started the 5ds Manga. I am on Episode 357 of Bleach and I am loving it.
Normally, I would stop writing here, but considering there is only 2 Chapters left, you guys get a 4 Chapter Special! You get the last 2 chapters of the Season, which I hopefully finish soon. Next Chapter I will be shocked if I somehow get more than 10k words of as writing dialouge, believable and long ones at that, is hard as hell. Hope to see you soon. See ya'!
