SilverPsychic; Happy 2024 everyone! This fanfic is 2 years old on the 28th! Really shows I am slow with updating…I apologize for that. Also, I genuinely thank you guys in my comments for correcting my mistakes. As a few of you have pointed out, it's Yen as Japanese currency and Rock Lock, not Lock Lock. I also apologize for those mistakes. Though Fanfiction Net won't let me reply to comments, I do read them. I also try to write my replies in the A\N up here lol. I will go back and probably rewrite/edit this whole fanfic when I'm done to fix mistakes and ensure better writing and details. And less cringe factor pfft.

Silver; Is that way of admitting you rush things when they are boring?

SilverPsychic; ... .yes. Shameful fact that I've been fixing. I am soooo sorry about that. When I fix this fanfic I'll be sure to fill in a lot of the stuff I skimmed over. You guys all seriously made me feel a lot better about writing. I didn't expect you all to read this…I expected like 100 readers at most *cries* Seriously 3

Chapter 24; Marionette

The pain that ached his body was almost paralyzing, the teen's body felt heavy as it was weighed down by mountains. He struggled to open his eyes, honey orbs fluttered into sight with a distant discombobulated look as they tried to recall earlier events. His mind was hazy and echoed with pain, so he glanced around in an attempt to find a reminder of what happened. With a futile attempt, Silver struggled to fight his sluggish body into a sitting position. The gloved hand met with his head softly with a weak attempt to soothe his migraine. The psychic couldn't tell where he was, the room was dark and empty, seemingly placed in the middle of nowhere.

He again glances around, trying to blink away any obstructions to his vision. Silver couldn't tell if his eyes were just blurry but he sure was in a void. The darkness consumed all sides of him, even the ground he was on. His expression scrunched into one of puzzlement as he turned and stared at his spare hand. It was warm, his hand was warm but only because of the liquid on it. The garnet red liquid he assumed was his blood yet, it seemed so strange. The costumed psychic continued to simply stare at his hand with a puzzled look yet his thoughts were slow and emptied. Why was he bleeding…? It didn't exactly hurt. The position he was in was confusing.

As he slowly recalled the events of before, Silver didn't move but instead just stayed frozen. Almost in a trance as he stared at the blood slowly dripping from his once pure white glove. Though his mind was more rebooting from the suddenness of it all. Since he was 'safe' in this black void, his mind went through every piece of information like it was a puzzled detective carefully examining every clue. The occasional blink crossed his distanced gaze as scarlet warm blood continued to puddle in his hand. His thoughts paused as he finally understood what happened before, but yet his mind was more so filled with questions than answers.

Still, in a numbed and distant state, his mental state proceeded to reboot like an old computer.

The thoughts became more frequent and the emotions began to seep into his system again. Slowly Silver was brought back to life as his mind registered this was a panic situation. As if a light switch were flipped, Silver's face flooded with a terrified expression and his breath quickened. The gaze broke from his injury and his head whipped around, glancing around as anxiety filled him. WHERE WAS HE?! WHAT HAPPENED WHILE HE WAS UNCONSCIOUS?! WHERE WAS HIS CLASS?!

Was He dead? Or Possessed? Was he bait in a trap? Was he in a coma? Why was he bleeding? What was that thing that attacked him earlier? Did they get out? Or was he in a basement? Was his class ok? Did the teachers find where they were? Was he left behind? Is he under the influence of a different quirk? What was happening? Was he injured? Was that his blood or someone else's? If it was someone else's, why was the blood puddle in his hand growing?! Was there anyone else around? Was Tails Doll around? Was he home?

His amber irises shot around in a new direction with each reeling question. His mind was overloaded with questions and panic, and his surroundings weren't giving him any answers. Vines of anxiety gripped his heart and spread through his chest with a claustrophobic weight. Eyes wide and breath shallow and quickened, Silver gripped his chest in an attempt to ease the pressure. He couldn't breathe, he was getting dizzy. This all was going so south too fast. His mind couldn't stop screaming questions and his lungs couldn't get any air. The costumed ivory psychic continued to rake at his chest, he couldn't breathe!

Seeing he wasn't going to get anywhere by digging into his chest, Silver slammed his hands down beside him on the dark void ground and let out a short but strong psychic burst. He felt the tendrils inside his body be shoved out through the burst. A much-needed and deep breath followed suit. Silver closed his eyes and eased his mind, trying to keep his panic attack at bay. The psychic relaxed his muscles and let the comforting image of all his panic drip down and out of his frame. Once his panic attack had fully subsided, the Hedgie-boy opened his eyes and let out a slow and controlled sigh. With an idea in mind, Silver laid his questions out again but much calmer.

Where was he? And was his class ok?

Silver slowly staggered into a standing position and glanced around once more. Even if he hovered in his power the dim light gave no answers. It was as if the floor beneath him was solid obsidian and the rest was a void that consumed all light and left nothing behind. Silver slowly placed himself onto the ground again, summoning the brightest thing he could think of. A very condensed psychic knife flickered in his hand, the light still only going a few feet in front of him before being swallowed by the emptiness around him. It was eerie quiet…as if no other life breathed in this darkness except him. The eerie silence sent a chill down his spine, making the costumed teen shutter. Silver took a slow breath before hesitating, he wasn't sure what to do.

His metal boots echoed around as they slowly walked along the obsidian-like flooring below. "Hello?" The question faded into the abyss as if the air alone ate his timid question, "I-Is anyone out there?" Silver held his light source up like a torch and swung it around, but it was silent. The air was still as he walked on, "Hello?" His shoulders dropped with disappointment knowing his calls were unheard and it was futile to keep asking a lifeless void. "…where am I?" Silver's voice was soft as he spoke to himself.

Racking his brain for any information about a place even remotely similar to this, Silver stood still. Was there a book he read or a gossiping whisper he heard about something similar to a black void of nothingness? Though his information about random places was thin and varied among many things, the confused Hedgie-boy couldn't remember any hints about a void of nothing. Silver however could recall a metaphor about darkness, something like "Even the darkest tunnel has a light at the end". But that wasn't helping…plus he was in a void of sorts, not a tunnel.

There was definitely no light except his own.

The teen sighed and began walking again, hoping to find something helpful either mentally or physically. Any information would be better than what he had at the moment. As he continued to walk his mind wondered, would it be better to be alone in this void or for there to be someone else out there? Of course, it would be better if there was life in the void beside himself, Silver wanted more than anything to find his class and go back to their dorms. And just snuggle into his bed for a nice long nap. He froze however when his mind brought up a horrific thought, what if the only other people in the void were monsters or demons? Or psycho killers? His mind created many horrific scenarios and Silver shook his head. He needed to stay positive and alert! Not be scared again…

…was he in the backrooms? The thought seemed so random until he remembered what they were, some weird alternative dimension with the stuff of nightmares. Though…the backrooms were mostly liminal spaces with horror demons…this was a void… Silver happily ruled out being in the backrooms, plus, wasn't it just some horror games little kids played? Why should he get all worked up over something he knew was fake? Letting out a nervous chuckle, the teen continued forward. That was…until he felt something was off. His glowing psychic energy knife showed there wasn't anyone around yet…he felt he wasn't alone. His body tensed and the hair on the back of his neck rose, the young psychic Hedgie-boy stood frozen.

In only a matter of milliseconds and without warning, a light switched on. It was as if an old TV were turned on in front of him, the flash was sudden before it faded into a dull grayish coloring. It really seemed like a large cinematic screen was placed in front of him and playing some old-school movie, but instead of blacks, whites, and grays…the colors were purely multiple shades of gray. The scene on screen was hard to make out, the figures blurred and distorted. Silver stood in blatant confusion, what was going on…? Why was there a TV in a void of nothing?

The more he tried to make out the figures, the less it made sense. Silver saw a much more distorted and mixed version of it. Silver grit his teeth in confusion and frustration, he could see it wasn't like what he was actually seeing, yet when he tried to process it correctly it only got worse. Even while it was distorted, blurred, and missing pieces like an incomplete puzzle, he could tell there were humanoid figures and quite a few of them. Though up until now when he tried to count them, he kept getting a new number even though none of them left or appeared. It was as if his mind were drunk trying to process the 'movie' shown, but it wasn't. It was quite trippy for sure. The psychic puzzled at the scene before him, his shoulders dropping as his stance relaxed.

What was happening? That question kept spinning around in his mind like a rock tumbler, but he just didn't understand it. This whole situation made no sense…like he was in a dream. The reality around him made no sense and was warped. Or maybe he proceeded it as warped? As he pondered, his tensed stature relaxed and his head tilted. Silver stared at the 'screen' and he watched the figures move around. There was some audio, was it voices? Music? Tapping? He wasn't sure, it was muffled and sounded so foreign… Were they dancing? Were they backing away or going towards the 'screen'? What were they? Silver…didn't feel harmed by their presence so he slowly stepped forward towards the 'screen'...it felt…

…Nostalgic?

Hesitantly, Silver reached his hand out towards the creatures, feeling comfortable in their presence. It was like he knew them…he felt like he could trust them to help him. Though the screen was much bigger than him and he was so small compared to the figures, he knew they noticed his gentle action. His hand held softly in the air as if he were to introduce himself to a scared animal. However, these figures took his gesture the wrong way. The psychic jumped back in surprise as the figures crawled out of the screen, nothing was visibly different but he felt fear with this new action. Something wasn't right, they still seemed the same as before as they got closer but his mind was filled with panic. His body tensed and he backed up slowly, this wasn't ok. Did he make them mad? Was this a ruse?!

Silver no longer felt safe with them and even though there wasn't a physical difference, he felt they were demons or monsters to eat him suddenly. Where this thought came from was unknown but it was strong and left a distinct feeling to run in his gut. With his fight-or-flight activated, Silver panicked as he felt one of the beings touch his shoulder. It was a cold and distant touch, making him shout out in surprise and fear as he turned around to face this being. Without much thought, Silver left a panicked psychic knife to be thrown at the creature and it stumbled back. The others paused for a moment, just sitting there for a second as the being Silver attacked seemed shocked. Silver also didn't move, waiting in panic on what the being would do next, would it take his attack as a sign that the psychic felt scared and would leave him alone? Or would they attack him out of spite?

The hedgie-boy waited a moment before spinning around at another ice-cold touch, the being that was behind Silver was launched backwards and Silver felt his panic rise. They must have taken it as a fight because they were enclosing him again, and Silver apparently wasn't one to run when things got tough. Though this kinda surprised him his default to fight-or-flight was to actually fight…it also kinda didn't. Silver was proud of himself for not being weak-minded, but right now he was downright terrified of these things. Every time he punched one, another would appear behind him. Kick that guy, another to his left. It was like a never-ending wave of torment, and though his kicks and punches were strong, it wasn't doing much.

As he continued to fight he noticed small differences in himself, sometimes his swipes would be a little too broad or his kicks too long. The costumed psychic brushed it off as 'panic-induced mistakes' but the longer he fought, the more prominent they became. His attacks were slowly becoming less like his fighting style, he wasn't one to use hand-to-hand combat. Yet in this fight, it seemed that was what he was doing the most? He often used his hands or arms in hand-to-hand combat battles, but these moves Silver found himself doing were more kick-heavy. Silver often punched harder with pretty good speed, yet more of his kicks were agile and precise. The longer this went on, the more worried about himself he got. The teen got to a point where he was absentmindedly fighting the beings and was focused on what was wrong with him.

This wasn't like him at all, something felt off. The further he tried to focus on his kicks being shorter or adding more punches, the more he noticed strain. It was like his body was just doing it on its own, and to do what his mind wanted was to fight his body. The costumed teen felt a new panic build in him, it wasn't right. This never happened before! Silver strained his body to slow down, to listen to what he wanted, but it was harder and harder to work his own body. At this point, the beings around him were the 2nd to last thing on his mind, Silver decided it was time to be done fighting. This was only making him panic more. As he tried to calm his body down and stop fighting, it only got worse. It was like fighting in setting cement, he wasn't winning the battle against his own body. It was fighting on its own and was working up a sweat for Silver. The psychic hedgie-boy growled at himself with sheer fear, why was his body not listening?! It was like his body wasn't his own!

He began to feel desperate, Silver tried harder and harder to control himself but with each effort, the more control he lost. His body was acting as if it wasn't his. Fighting with great force as if he were a mere puppet in a show for some sick twisted person to laugh. A show in which he had no say where the story went or what the script said, a toy for entertainment. As this realization sunk into him, Silver felt a pit in his stomach. His body fought mercilessly against the blurred figures as if they were the worst monsters and he only had two seconds left to live…Silver felt his mind go blank. He just seemed so blank, his emotions were numb as his body fought against his will. The teen felt his despair-is shock numb him mentally as he was danced around by the strings. Silver had absolutely no control of it, he had the power of a speck of dust.

The powerful hearty teen was a nobody, a puppet in a game, a toy for amusement, and nothing else. No say, no will, no option to stop it, whatever the puppeteer wanted him to do, Silver had unknowingly been doing for however long. Whatever was puppeting him…triggered the fight to worm its way into control. Each fearful swing at those humanoid creatures lets the parasitic being controlling him learn and get comfortable with how his body works…

As his existential crisis set in, Silver felt a sudden wave of emotions. He didn't know what to do, he felt so desperate and scared, he needed help but was so alone and had no will. If he couldn't even control his own body, it was hopeless to even think he could escape. Silver had thought the TV was showing him a show, but instead, he was the show. He wanted to scream and climb out of his skin, he wanted to snap back into reality or wake up from this nightmare, he wanted to have this all stop or realize there was a way to get out and it was gonna be ok. Silver felt the acidic desperation burn him, the anxiety crushed him, the echo of panic screaming to him with chaotic insanity. All this mixed with the sickening information he was a toy to be discarded, Silver felt disheartened and hopeless, the scraping hollowness and lost confusion, and deep-rooted sadness that left a chilling cold in his blood.

The fire of desperation and his natural onward mindset mixed with the frost of hopelessness which was a rare feeling…both of those feelings left him writhing in his own body and mentally limp. Who was he fighting? Silver had no clue, but it didn't matter. Was his body quickly reaching its physical limit? Definitely. What was he going to do? …what could he do? Nothing is more of a helpless feeling when your own body is out of your control… The strings were tied, he was a simple marionette to use and tossed around at the tip of someone else's finger, bent by their will… (A/N; Ah crap he is self-aware-)

Everyone dared not to move even an inch, the air still and tense as Silver lay limp on the floor. Izuku blinked at the suddenness of it all, one second his friend was muttering about a ghost and the next he fainted? And since when did a hedgehog psychic faint while semi-screaming and grabbing his head like he was unconscious yet still conscious at the same time…? How does that even work…? Izuku glanced at Uraraka in a worrying questioning glance, was it just him or was that absolutely terrifying…?

After a hot second, Silver still hadn't moved and Izuku was genuinely worried for his friend. So despite his fear, the young hero took a hesitant step towards his unconscious classmate. Silver was his best friend, so if he was injured Izuku wasn't going to just let him die because he was scared! Before he got any closer, Bakugo stopped the emerald teen, gripping his arm tightly and growling.

"Are you that stupid?" Bakugo hissed to the emotional Midoriya, "He is acting possessed, don't you even dare get closer. Silver needs holy water, not a pretend hero." Izuku visibly slumped at his rival's words, he wasn't pretending to be a hero…he had a license…albeit a provisional license…but still…

Deku stared at Bakugo for a moment before furrowing his brows and softly shaking his head, "No, he needs help. It's not normal for someone to pass out so suddenly like that." Izuku turned to Silver again and attempted to check his vitals again, "And Kacchan? I'm not pretending to be a hero." The seriousness seeped into his voice as he became more determined to help his friend.

"Deku, listen to me." Bakugo hissed and yanked Izuku towards him, "None of us have the right training or quirk to deal with a possessed psychic!" Though the werewolf teen wasn't exactly one to show affection or care for other people, at least he was taking into consideration other people's health now, that sure was a stretch. "I still don't think this place is actually haunted, and Pigtails very well may be just joking around to go home," …ok Bakugo was still kinda selfish- "We are all getting out of here safe, alive, together, and in one piece. That's not a wish or a goal, that's a freaking order." Izuku blinked at the explosive teen, was this seriously still the same Bakugo as before…? "STOP STARING AT ME, NITWIT!"

Izuku flinched at the sudden shout and closed his eyes, definitely still the same Bakugo. "S-Sorry…"

"Even if he is playing around…" The spiked-haired teen huffed and glanced at the still unconscious psychic, "This place is still dangerous, even if it's not haunted. It's old and dark in here, and y'all are stupid." Izuku glared in offense and shock at Bakugou, how could he say he kinda cared about his class and then turn around and insult everyone-?! "I'm not gonna let you make a mistake that could get you killed, even if Pigtails is joking around." Bakugo scoffed and rolled his eyes, Izuku on the other hand was dumbfounded.

How could this genuinely be the same guy to told him to jump off a building only a year earlier-? Now he was protecting -in a sense- Deku from making a possible deathly mistake-?! Midoriya let this sit with him for a moment before sighing, Silver was his friend, and even if that meant getting possessed as well, Izuku just wanted to make sure Silver was ok at least.

"This is serious," Kaminari said suddenly and very sternly. Izuku turned to him, puzzled about why he thought it was bad. Well, it could be because it kinda was…

Deku softly asked, "Well yeah, but why are you so suddenly stern about this…?"

"Bakugo actually called Silver his name and not Pigtails."

The room went quiet as Kaminari was dead serious, Bakugo gawking in anger and Izuku slowly processed that. "…true…I guess it's really serious…" Bakugo turned and gawked at Izuku, seeming even more mad and offended by how they claimed the situation to be serious, "But I still need to see if Silver is at least alive…" Going against the werewolf's orders, the leafy-headed boy hesitantly walked up to Silver.

Midoriya was about to poke Silver but jumped back almost a foot into the air. The ivory trainee on the ground suddenly opened his eyes and groaned in confusion. After Izuku landed with a stumble, he paused to process the suddenness of it. Something seemed weird about his friend, and the costumed teen scrunched his nose. Something deep in the core of the young hero's soul shifted at the sight of Silver. Shamrock eyes scanned his disoriented friend, Silver's eyes seemed much…foggier? There seemed to be a haze or a film to them that wasn't normal, was the sweet-toothed hedgehog sick…? Or worse? Deku stared for a moment as Silver's eyes wondered, slowly the discombobulated psychic just spaced out staring at the wood flooring below their feet.

"S…Silver?" Hagakure cautiously stuttered, taking a slow step to the side as she did so, "Are you…ok…?" Silver lifted his gaze to her in surprise…yet everyone felt uneasy by it, "...Your eyes are…"

Izuku frowned as his friend stayed eerily quiet, no one really moved as they waited for something to happen. The worried emerald-haired hero half expected Silver to jump up and try to eat Hagakure like that haunted plush they found earlier. Yet…he didn't move. Everyone stood awkwardly and tense as the hedgie boy just stared at the skeleton girl. After a long 5 minutes of nothing happening, Silver slowly raised his hand up. It was…a weird gesture to say the least. But was it a friendly one? Midoriya blinked with confusion, Silver's hand was raised as if he were trying to greet a horse for the first time.

"Do you…need help?" Todoroki asked just as puzzled as everyone else, this was certainly odd behavior from Silver…

As Silver's best friend Izuku decided to gently, in the best unharmful-like stance he could walk up to Silver. He hated to treat his best friend like a wild animal but something was off, so there was no harm in acting the most nonthreatening way right? As Deku slowly approached his ivory counterpart, Silver seemed to take it the wrong way and found it a threat. The Hedgie-boy backed up with wide eyes, scooting across the dusty floor in the semi-dark.

Izuku waved his hands and shook his head, "Nononono, it's ok Silver. I'm not gonna hurt you." He tried to soothe his friend…sadly Silver didn't seem to hear or understand him.

The psychic's head swiveled around to find he still had room to back up, though Izuku took this time to quickly close the distance between them, "Hey Silver it's ok." He said softly, though it was laced with worry and panic. Izuku touched the teen mentioned on the shoulder, the idea of a hug in mind, yet that single touch spooked Silver.

The skittish boy shouted in surprise and threw a knife of pure will at his friend, Izuku stumbled back with pain physically and emotionally. Though the cut wasn't deep, his right arm still bled and the emerald trainee paused. Everyone froze in shock, waiting for something to happen as Izuku processed this. He…really…didn't want to be in the house any longer. Slowly he lifted his pained gaze from his arm and towards Silver. Deku took a deep breath before his face grew serious, this wasn't like his friend…and if this house wanted to hurt the people he cared about…it wasn't worth being here any longer.

"…Silver…" Of course, first, "It's ok, I promise." He was gonna get his friend back to normal, they were all going to leave this place in one piece and all together after all, "You're not acting like yourself…we need to go home." Izuku spoke softly, hoping his words were heard.

SilverPsychic; So….how do ya'll enjoy my attempt at horror?

Silver; T.T I mean I dont think its bad…but I really hate this is the SECOND TIME Ive been possesed.

Also Silver definitely has a concussion…and maybe we figure out who that ghost person is-? Maybe not, perhaps Im just teasing now.
