Chapter 1
"Mom I'm fine."
"Quinn those bruises don't look good. You don't know how they formed."
"Yes it happened at Cheer camp."
"You have that many bruises from cheer camp?"
Quinn nodded as she got into the car praying the leukemia wasn't back. She had had Leukemia from age three to five.
"Mom do you think that the leukemia is back?"
"Quinine I don't know. I pray it's not. If it is we will deal with it."
"Easy for you to say you're not starting your sophomore year. If I have Leukemia I will be bald and my life will be over."
"We can get you a wig that will match your hair. Let's just hope it's not cancer."
Quinn nodded. She had the feeling something was wrong.
"Did you already make an appointment?"
"Yes."
Quinn nodded.
Quinn walked into the hospital.
"It's on the oncology ward?" Quinn asked
"Yes, Quinn I didn't want to take chances. Besides you need your yearly Check-up."
"Do I have to get a spinal tap?"
Judy nodded.
They arrived on the Oncology ward. Quinn was nervous every time she had to get the tests done. As they walked she sat kids and teens with IV's and feeding tubes in their noses. Some were bald some had hair. Some were in wheel chairs. Some were on crutches due to missing limbs. Quinn swallowed could that be her bald with a feeding tube? She swallowed hoping that wouldn't be her.
She walked with her mom into to one of the exam rooms.
"Is this why you asked me to wear comfy clothes?"
Judy nodded and filled out the paper work
"Do you want to be relaxed or asleep?"
"Do I still get a choice being fifteen?" Quinn replied with sarcasim
Judy wrote down asleep she gave the information to the nurse.
"I don't need to be here."
"Quinn. Just relax."
"No, I want to go home. You didn't have to drag me here."
"Quinn, I didn't drag you here."
"I'm fifteen. I don't need to be here."
"Quinn don't start. Just relax."
Just like you when you drunk Quinn thought to herself
"Hi Quinn. I'm Cody."
"Hi."
"What grade are you going into?"
"I'm going to be a sophomore."
Cody started an IV in Quinn's arm. As she spoke to her
"I didn't feel that." Quinn told her.
"That's why I talk to you. Just rest sweetheart." Cody told her fixing her pillows and helping her relax. Covering her up with the Sheet and blanket.
"She will be okay." Cody said to Judy before leaving
Quinn closed her eyes and let the medication take effect. She heard Cody talk to her mom she just wanted this to be over. She soon fell asleep.
Judy looked over at her daughter asleep. She knew what was going to come. Thankful Quinn could still be asleep for the procedure.
"Hi Judy. "I'm Dr. Stephen Oscar."
"I remember you. You were Quinn's doctor before."
"I was. I Hope she hasn't relasped."
"I do too. I pray she is okay."
Judy watched as the doctor performed the procedure. Cody walked in and rolled Quinn on her side. She pulled her shorts down to the tailbone. She curled Quinn into a ball and held her in place.
Dr. Oscar took some samples. Once he was done he put a band aid on the spot
Cody fixed Quinn's pants and shirt once they were done she uncurled Quinn and laid her on her back.
"She should be waking up soon." Cody told Judy. As she took the blood samples she needed
Cody spoke again to Judy.
"Once she is fully awake you can go home. I'll be I with a wheelchair. The test results will be one to two weeks."
Judy nodded
Cody left.
Judy prayed it wasn't leukemia. Quinn hadn't really been old enough to remember but it had been a long fight. She had come through.
Quinn started to stir.
"Is it over?"
"Yes. You handled it beautifully."
"Mom if I'm sick how do I tell my friends?"
"If they are your true friends they will be there for you. Mercades, Kurt, Santana and Brittany will be by your side."
Quinn nodded .
"Quinn if you do have leukemia. You won't be alone. Your true friends will be by your side." Judy told her
"Can we go home?"
"Yes. Once you're fully awake. Cody is going to bring in a wheelchair and we can go home."
Quinn sighed how would she deal with all of this? How would she manage chemotherapy school, cheerleading and her social didnt want this to happen. She wanted to be fine. She didn't want to be the reason her mom drank.
She was feeling so tired and run down. She didn't feel right she felt like something was wrong.
Judy sat on her phone while Quinn slept. Judy knew something was wrong. Quinn came home from cheer camp and slept. Her appetite was changing she wasn't eating much. The bruises formed. Judy knew something was wrong with Quinn.
"I'm awake I want to go home." Quinn said rubbibg her eyes with her hand
"How, are you feeling Quinn?" Cody asked removing the IV in Quinn's elbow
"Tired. I just want to go home."
"You can do that. I have your transportation. "Cody told Quinn helping her into the wheelchair. Quinn felt very sore
Cody wheeled Quinn Outside. She stood with her while Judy got the car. She talked to Quinn. Quinn spoke back she just wanted to go home and get into her bed and sleep
Two weeks passed Quinn was having a sleep over with Mercedes Kurt, Santana and Brittany when Judy got the call. She kept quiet letting her have the time with her friends.
"Bye Q see you in school. I'll meet you at your locker." Santana said she was the last one to leave.
Quinn nodded and closed the door as Santana got into her car and her mom drove off.
"Did you and the musketeers have fun?"
"Yes. You got the test results back didn't you?" Quinn asked turning to Judy
"Yes the test results are back you have acute myeloid leukemia better known as AML. They want you to come to the hospital to discuss your treatment plan."
"No!" Quinn said as she started to sob
Judy pulled her into a hug
"We will get through this."
Quinn nodded
