Chapter 1 Leeway
Boom! A big explosion of fireworks goes off as our main character Leeway runs away from the shopkeeper's store late at night while getting chased by the authorities. Leeway, our 18-year-old protagonist, was celebrating his birthday by lighting every single firework in the expo store. Now he's trying to run from the cops with his friends.
Leeway: "Haa Haaaaa! That was epic!"
Janet: "I knew I shouldn't have come."
Mike: "What do you mean, Janet? It's Leeway's eighteenth birthday."
Janet: "I don't plan on getting arrested today."
The group ducks behind the abandoned building as the police run right past them.
Leeway: sighs in relief "They missed us, ha haa. Wasn't that fun? Where should we go next?"
Janet: "Home, please?"
Leeway: "Nahhh, you only turn eighteen once; gotta make it count."
Janet: "Sensei gonna kill us if he finds out we were back in the village again."
Leeway: "He won't find out." (he says with a smile)
Mike: "Yeah, Janet, stop being a grinch. Plus, we didn't get our boy here a cake yet; we do that, then we can leave."
Leeway: "Mike is right; cake, please, then we leave, promise."
Janet: Rolls eyes "Ughhh, fine, let's get this over with."
As the group walked down the empty streets, Leeway couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had always been the adventurous type, and turning 18 was a milestone he felt deserved to be celebrated. Janet, on the other hand, was not amused. She had always been the responsible one in the group, and she knew that their little escapade could land them in serious trouble.
As they approached the bakery, they looked for the best cake to get for their friend.
Mike: Hmmm "How about that one?"
Leeway: "That's perfect." (as he stares at the most badass cake he had ever seen) "Let's get in there and take it." (he says with a grin)
Janet: "Okay, watch my back; let me do my thing."
Janet uses this tool she made called the interslit to make a hole in the wall of the bakery so Mike can get to the cake.
Mike makes his way into the bakery, grabs the cake.
Mike: "Told you it wouldn't take too long, Janet." (he says with a smile)
Janet: "Yeah, whatever; hurry up before we get caught, Mike."
That's when the group heard a rattle from the corner of the dark store. As all three look, they see an old lady with a shotgun.
Old lady: "GET OUT OF MY STORE, YOU THIEVES!"
BOOM* she blows the shotgun once and cocks it back to get ready to blow it again. Mike's heart drops as he jumps straight out of the hole he came in from and runs.
The noise attracted the authorities from before, so as the group runs down the dark alley, they get cornered at the end. They turn around and try to run the other way but got caught off guard there as well.
Leeway: "Dammit!"
Janet: "What did I tell you all? We should have just left, but no."
Mike: "Please save the 'I told you so' for later, Janet."
Janet: "Nah, I wanted to say it now before we... you know, go to jail for life."
As they're about to get arrested, poof! Smoke appears everywhere, and in the blink of an eye, all the cops are down.
Group: "AH SHI-"
Master Dai: "What did I say about swearing?" Smacks all of them "And what did I say about coming to this village?" 2x slaps "What did I say about stealing?" 3x slaps
Leeway: "Can you finish lecturing us after we get back to the dojo, Sensei
Master dai : and I will ;let's go back to the dojo now!
