Chapter 2: War Ahead

After the events back in the old town, Leeway and crew were put on cleaning duty all day. Their sensei was making them clean the whole dojo top to bottom; he wanted to see his reflection on the wooden floors.

Master Dai: "Hurry up, you missed a spot."

Leeway: "Okay, I see it, Sensei."

Janet: "This is so unfair."

Master Dai: "Do crime together, you do the time together."

Mike: "Sensei, can we get a break? We've been cleaning for 6 hours non-stop."

Master Dai: "Should have thought about that before you all did what you did. People could have gotten hurt."

Leeway: "Us get hurt? We're trained for stuff like that, Sensei."

Mike: "Yeah, we could have taken those cops down if we really wanted to."

Master Dai: "First, you all weren't trained to blow up half a street with fireworks! Second, I'm more worried about the poor officers I had to take down thanks to my dumb students."

Janet: "I have an IQ of 150; far from dumb."

Master Dai: "Could have fooled me last night, Janet." *points to a spot she didn't mop*

When you're done, I need Leeway to meet me in my room. I have something for you."

(2 hours later)

After they were done, the group went to Sensei Dai's room. He was sitting on the floor with a box in front of him.

Mike: "Yo, what's that, sir?"

Leeway: "Oh, Sensei, a gift for me?" (he says with sarcasm)

Sensei Dai: "Actually, Leeway, it is. I shouldn't give it to you after the incident you all pulled last night. But you're 18 now, and you've completed all your training, so you deserve it."

Dai slides the mysterious box over to Leeway.

Janet: "What do you all think it is?"

Mike: "Obviously, he finally got a weapon."

Leeway: "I don't know, let's find out." (he says excited)

As Leeway pulls the top off the box, he's met with a weird-looking short sword.

Leeway: "Ah, sweet! Sensei, you made me a dagger?"

Janet: "It's too long to be a dagger, Leeway."

Mike: "Well, it's too short to be a sword, ain't it?"

Sensei Dai: "It's called Sikei. I don't really know a lot about it, but I did some research on who might. An old friend, a spiritual teacher, we are going to go travel to meet soon."

Leeway: "That's cool and all, but where did you find it, Master Dai?"

Master Dai: "That's the weird thing, Leeway. It was with you when I found you as a baby."

Mike: "Wow, so like your birth sword... I wish I had a birth weapon." (Mike says looking to the side)

Master Dai: "Okay, all of you, get some rest. We've got some traveling to do early in the morning."

Group: "Okay, Master Dai."

Everyone headed off to their rooms, excited about what lies ahead for them all.

It's 2 in the morning while Leeway has a weird dream. He's in a laboratory, and people are fighting all around him, just carnage. While running down a dark hall, Leeway sees a boy with dark blue eyes and dark skin yelling "help me" over and over. But before Leeway can reach the child, he's awoken by someone calling his name.

Mike: "LEEWAY!!!" (Mike screams in distress)

Leeway darts up and heads right out his room where he heard Mike yell. As he looks forward, he sees Janet, Mike, and his sensei in mid-battle with this unknown clan. They're holding their own.

Leeway: "Who are these people?" *strikes one of the men*

Master Dai: "I'll explain later. Right now, don't drop your guard for nothing. Just know this clan is very dangerous."

Group: "Okay, sir."

Leeway and his friends fight for what seems like forever. But they do successfully take out all of the enemies, or so they thought. Before they could even catch their breath, a shadowy figure appears, and he looks stronger than any of the others before.

Master Dai: "There's no way you found me already."

Mike: "Who is this guy, Sensei?"

(Master Dai hands Leeway a piece of paper)

Master Dai: "I need you to take this and get out of here."

Leeway: "Sensei, we're not leaving you."

Master Dai: "On that paper are the coordinates to the person I told you about earlier. I need you, Leeway, to figure out your origin, who you are."

Leeway: "You really expect us to leave you, Sensei? This guy can't be all that strong."

Mike and Janet: "Yeah, we can beat him!"

Figure: "Come and try, because I promise you this is all your grave."

Master Dai: "I'm telling you all aren't yet ready for this challenge."

The mystery man dashes toward them all, slashing at Janet but was blocked by Master Dai.

Master Dai engages in combat with this mysterious guy as the kids leave as they were told to. Ran straight out the dojo as soon as they got outside their master was thrown out the window in front of them as the figure jumped out right in front of them.

Group: "FATHER!!!"

Master Dai: "I'm fine."

Master Dai vanishes and reappears right behind the mysterious man, stabbing him in his gut, taking him down.

Leeway: "Good job, Sensei. I know you could do it. Let's go."

That's when the figure says "You thought that was gonna kill me."

Figure: "Ha ha after all these years, you're still a joke."

The man slashes at Dai with the dagger attached to his right hand. Master Dai blocks and is immediately hit with a hard knee and thrown.

Figure: "No more running, Dai. Time for you to die in front of your pathetic students."

A sharp blade out the mysterious man goes for Dai's throat, and as soon as it looked like the end of Dai; Janet jumps in front of Dai, taking the blade to the gut.

Mike: "No!" (Yells Mike)

Leeway: *Shocked* "There's no way."

Master Dai looks up and as he sees one of his students he raised bleeding out; something snaps his pupils shrink, and you feel this overwhelming powertake over his body.

Figure: "Oops, wrong target." laughs

Dai punches the mysterious man, sending him flying and crashing into everything in sight. Dai zooms to his last two standing students who are sitting there frozen, seeing what just happened to their childhood friend.

Master Dai: "I know you guys have so much emotion right now, but I need you all to get away from here."

Master Dai sees they're not moving, so he grabs both of them, and with his new power-up, carries them away so they can escape. "I need you two to go now."

Leeway: "Master Dai? Is Janet?" (he says trembling)

Master Dai: "I'm going to go get her now. While I leave, I need you two to go. I'm serious."

Master Dai dashes back to battle to save his student and to face off against that man. Leeway tries to head back but is stopped by Mike.

Mike: "Where are you going, Leeway?"

Leeway: "Where do you think? We never leave each other behind."

Mike: "We obviously can't beat him right now. Let's do what Sensei says, please. I'm not trying to have me or you die. One is enough." (says with tears in his eyes)

Leeway: "Fine, okay. Let's head to wherever Sensei wants us to go, and they'll meet up when they can."

So that's what they did. They headed off to find the spiritual man their Sensei told them about. They felt guilty but they trusted their Sensei and believed to see their friend Janet once again.
