(Back to Tam's perspective)
After injecting Biana, Gisela put the last bit of the serum in another syringe and injected herself. "What was that?" Tam asked. "I took her essence from the vines and made it into the serum. Then I gave her just enough to bring her back." Gisela said. "When she gets back she'll still need lots of medicine, but at least she won't be dead."
Gisela had Ruy come in and pick up Biana's unconscious body. "How are you bringing her back?" Tam wondered. "We're sending her out on one of the alicorn babies." Ruy said, heaving her body onto a sling. "You didn't think we forgot about them did you?" "No." Tam said sternly, even though he had completely forgotten about the alicorns in the rush of this mess. How could I forget! What's going to happen to them?! Tam thought.
"Which one?" Tam asked. Gisela stepped in and answered, "The male. Female alicorns are much stronger so the girl's essence will be more powerful." "You're going to take her essence!?" Tam screamed "She's already downstairs in the vines."
After Gisela and Ruy had taken Biana out of the room Tam looked at Fitz and Linh, "I will save you, I promise." Fitz was looking worse and worse. He'd lost so much weight, he was skin and bones. Cheeks sunken in, every bone in his body visible. Linh wasn't as bad, her face wasn't as sunken in and only some of her ribs and collar bone were visible. Hydrokinesis must be a powerful ability, Tam thought.
