Second, third, and hundredth chances.

We always walked a very thin line

You were my town.

"What else do you want me to say?" Lucas asked.

Brooke stared at him wide eyed. "Something. Anything."

"The truth." She insisted.

Cupping his face in her hands. So their eyes were locked.

"I already told you how i feel. We've grown in separate directions."

"We got married too young." Lucas confessed.

Brooke stared back at him.

"That's bullshit!" Brooke replied.

"No it's the truth." Lucas replied.

Brooke couldn't listen to anymore of this.

Whatever it was. The disconnect. The lack of belief in what they had built.

"Are you trying to hurt me?" Brooke asked.

"I'm trying to be honest." Lucas replied.

Brooke left their bedroom. Brooke felt her heart being apart slowly

And none of it made sense to her.

He was giving up on them way too easily.

When she looked at him she couldn't read his face.

He was pulling away fast and hard.

He hated himself for hurting her. When all she ever did was love support and protect him.

It was better this way easier. Her hating him is what he deserved.

Lucas thought to himself.
