Later on that day
Lucas got home from the office. He noticed right away it was far too quiet for a house with a family.
"Callum took the younger kids out when he got home."
"I'm able to keep it together in front of them."
"I don't want this to be information they find out."
"This is between us. I don't want them in the middle picking sides."
"You're their father. This would change the way they view you." Brooke explained.
"Thank you." Lucas said. Even when he didn't deserve it. She protected him.
"You wanted me to stop doing what i can to keep us together."
"And i am. You want to be free. Relive the glory days you never had."
"Have at it. A relationship. A marriage. Can't survive with one person fighting for it."
"I'm sorry this marriage and family has been such a burden." Brooke proclaimed.
"The guest roon is all yours." Brooke added.
"Was it worth it?" She asked. Tears welled up in her eyes.
As she went upstairs.
...
Lucas felt his stomach drop. And stomach twists in knots.
Once he got in the guest room and saw his luggage already packed in there.
He stared at himself in the mirror. Taking a deep breath.
"You did it. She hates you now. You broke her heart."
"You're kids will never forgive you."
...
Hours Later
"911 What is you're emergency?" The operator asked.
Screaming was heard on the other end.
"Please try to calm down. What do you need?" The operator questioned.
"Ambulance. 32. Male. Overdose." The person replied.
