Later that evening, Lena was in her bedroom watching TV while reading a book.
"Hey, how are you doing here?" asked Tamera as she opened the door to the room and stuck her head in.
"I'm alright," said Lena.
"Honey, I know you don't want to be here and I'm sorry for that," said Tamera while walking over to sit on the foot of her daughter's bed. At the same time, Lena put a bookmark on the page she had been reading and sat the book on her nightstand.
"You're right, I don't want to be here," said Lena.
"But I also don't want to lose you like I did dad," she said as tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"That's why we had to come here so I could get the help I need, and Tia was kind enough to put us up without asking for anything in return," said Tamera before pulling her daughter into a hug.
"I know, so I'll put up with it till you get better," said Lena as she lost control and just cried into her mom's shoulder. Meanwhile, over in Ray's room.
"Can't believe we used to be so close," said Ray while looking at a picture of a ten-year-old version of herself and Lena.
"You two weren't just cousins, you were like sisters back then you got along so well," said Tia who was sitting next to her with a photo album.
"Which is why I want to know what happened between you," she said.
"All you need to know is that she stabbed me in the back," said Ray before ripping the photo into small pieces which she then tossed into the trash can beside the bed.
"And the next time you bring that album out, I'll burn the whole thing," she said while looking Tia in the eyes.
"I thought old memories may help, but obviously I was wrong," said Tia as she stood to leave, worry in her eyes as she did so.
"All it did was make me more mad, so how about you stop trying to get me and Lena to be friends again," said Ray under her breath as her mom closed the door behind her.
