The following day at school, Ray was hanging out with two of her friends in the hallway when they saw Lena.

"Hey, isn't that your cousin?" asked a boy.

"Yeah, the one who moved away when we were seven, you didn't say that she was coming back," said the other friend who was a girl.

"She and her mom moved into my house yesterday," said Ray.

"Aunt Tamera has cancer so they had to move back stateside for her treatments, I didn't tell you guys because I don't really care about them coming back, I just hope my aunt gets better so Lena gets out of my life again," she said.

"Oh yeah, you still hate her for what happened a few years ago when she was visiting during the summer," said the boy.

"Hey," said Lena as she stood behind Ray.

"Do you mind not talking about my mother with that ugly mouth of yours?" she asked, getting everyone in the hall to go quiet.

"Really, you're calling me ugly?" asked Ray while getting in her cousin's face.

"I call them as I see them," said Lena.

"Guys, don't do anything that you'll regret," said the girl.

"Nothing will happen if this bitch gets out of my face and my life," said Ray as she gave Lena a little shove on the shoulders to make her step back.

"Only bitch here is you," said Lena as she pushed Ray back.

"What is going on over here?!" asked a teacher who walked over to them, the sea of students breaking apart to allow him through.

"Just a family fight, sir," said Ray.

"Well you can explain this fight to the principal, I'm sure she would love to know all about it," said the teacher as he pointed down the hall toward the front office.

"Alright, I've never seen Ray act like that before," said the boy after the girls and teacher had left.

"Yeah, but she's told us the story," said the girl.

"Still, I can't help but hope things get a little better between the two of them," said the boy.
