After the discovery during the last few weeks not far from Axel city of a cave with an incredible amount of chests full of treasures, adventurers from all over the kingdom wasted no time in exploring it to the last corner, taking with them all the valuables.

Although shortly thereafter the Adventurer's Guild listed the cave as fully explored causing it to be quickly abandoned, on a day like any other in the early morning hours, inside the cave was a small group of three female adventurers walking in a straight line through one of its many labyrinthine tunnels.

Behind them all was Megumin, the little descendant of the Crimson Magic Clan famous for her nickname of "Crazy Exploding Girl" and clearly a victim of the "chuunibyou" syndrome, in the center was Darkness the incredibly resistant, kind and above all masochistic paladin, finally in front of them all was the self-proclaimed goddess, carefree and whimsical Aqua who lit her way using her magic staff glowed thanks to one of the many party spells she knew.

- Aqua, can you repeat what we are supposed to be doing in this place? -said Megumin while holding her staff trying not to see the darker ends of the cave.

- Megumin, last night while I was at the bar I heard a couple of guys talking about a rumor that said that in this cave there was still a hidden chest full of treasures -answered Aqua.

- I've heard those rumors too, but don't you think it's too dangerous for us to be in this place? There might still be monsters... -asked Megumin again

- This cave was completely explored less than a couple of days ago, all the monsters should be dead. Only an idiot wouldn't take this opportunity to get some money in an easy and safe way -said Aqua again, taking pride in her ingenious idea.

- Why did we get up so early to explore it? Besides, shouldn't we have woken up Kazuma to come with us? He could help us with the search -said Darkness suddenly.

After a couple of minutes walking around the labyrinthine tunnels, they suddenly came upon what appeared to be a wall that had a gigantic hole in the center which showed how inside it was a large room and how at the bottom of it was a gigantic chest adorned with different jewels which was only illuminated thanks to a beam of light that seemed to come from the ceiling of the place.

- We found it! We really found it! -Aqua shouted excitedly when she saw the treasure chest.

- Wait a minute, don't you think this whole situation is a little strange? -said Megumin

- What do you mean Megumin? -said Darkness looking at her friend

- Think about it, finding this room was too easy and why would there be such a luxurious chest being illuminated by a beam of light?

- Don't you want the Megumin treasure? -Aqua asked looking skeptically at her friend.

- Of course you do! But it looks like a trap...

- I told you not to worry Megumin, surely all the monsters in this cave were already killed by the adventurers who explored it.

- Well, yes, but...

- I don't know what do you want to do Megumin, but I already want to see all the treasures in the chest -said Aqua as she entered the room leaving her two friends behind.

- Aqua wait, I think Megumin is right, we should think about all this first -said Darkness agreeing with Megumin.

- Are you sure you don't want to go in Darkness? There's a chance that the chest is actually a mimic that attacks the first person who touches it -said Aqua trying to convince Darkness to follow her.

Megumin, realizing that she could not ask for help from her friends, decided to strike with her staff at whoever was holding her, but only succeeded in having her captors snatch it from her hands and then felt them press her torso against the ground and bring their arms behind her back to begin to surround her entire body with an incredible amount of ropes.

For their part, once Aqua and Darkness reached the other end of the room, they stood at the side of the chest in front of them.

- Darkness, are you ready to open the chest? -said Aqua as she hid behind her friend, holding her magic staff tightly.

At that moment and with the heart of both girls beating quite fast, Darkness knelt down and with her two hands opened the chest which upon opening generated a large beam of light that spread throughout the room illuminating it completely causing Aqua and Darkness to momentarily close their eyes.

- I guess all the adventurers really did explore every last corner of the cave, taking all the treasures with them...

At that moment, not hearing their companion's answer, Aqua and Darkness realized that their friend was not beside them, so turning around in complete terror they realized, thanks to the fact that the whole room was now illuminated, that they were surrounded by what seemed to be dozens of goblins who had captured Megumin in a corner of the place.

At first Aqua was relieved to think that her friend would use her incredible physical strength to finish with all the goblins that were surrounding them, save Megumin and flee the place, but quickly her hopes of getting out of the cave unharmed vanished when she saw how Darkness, just before hitting the first goblin, pretended to trip over a stone and fell in the middle of all the goblins that were in front of her.

Totally humiliated Aqua, Darkness and Megumin were forced to stand up thanks to the goblins pulling on their leash quite hard. As the three stood up, the goblins took some completely black rag strips and tied them over the eyes of the three girls completely obscuring their vision.
