Stomping down the halls, Kage made it a point to push anyone out of his way until he finally reached his destination. The monitor room was anything but simple with screens lining every available space with each screen varying in size. The majority of the monitors show the outside of the building as well as outside each door, inside the medical wards and finally the outside docking station where all of their shipments were delivered or sent off.
"Why'd you call me here?" Kage said after letting himself in and stopping right behind Kenzo who was closely watching the screens. "You know I was busy."
"So, I heard." Kenzo lowly said with a clear edge to his voice before turning his attention to his younger brother, surprised to see him clutching his nose with a towel. "And what happened to you?"
"It was that damn bitch." Kage winced from the pain as his eyes began to water. When he looked up again, he gave Kenzo an irritated glare when he saw him raise his brows in amusement. "You're clearly enjoying this."
Shrugging his shoulders Kenzo reverted his gaze to the monitors. "The little mouse has claws."
"Shut up."
"Anyway, Toga's got an assignment for you. They need you to get one more thing from UA."
"Seriously? Now?!"
"It's in the same place she got the rest of the samples so you shouldn't have a problem." Kenzo said, eyeing his brother carefully. "And no detours Kage, come right back here and get that nose fixed."
"Yeah yeah." He waived off knowing that it wouldn't take him longer than five minutes. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to have a look around while he was there. Which was exactly what he did once he managed to get into the school infirmary after making sure Recovery girl nor any of the students or teachers were around. Walking over to the back where Toga had said she took some of the blood stored there, he searched through them until he found the one they needed. "Well, that was too easy." He grinned before looking around once more to make sure everything was in the same place as before and grabbing a bag of ice, quickly teleporting away right as Recovery Girl walked inside with Principal Nezu.
Upon appearing inside Urarakas room he took a quick look around frowning when he felt warm air coming out of the opened bathroom. But when he carefully looked inside there was no one there. Shaking his head, he winced and cursed under his breath when the throbbing in his nose increased.
Letting his eyes take in her room he slowly walked over to the bed lightly running his fingers against the pillow.
"Eww…"
Whipping his head around he furrowed his brows when he didn't see anything thinking that maybe Uraraka really did give him a good bashing. Shaking his head, he quickly teleported back to the base and into his room out of habit as he swung his door open and marched his way down to get his damn nose looked at.
It was a good minute before a figure slowly came out of hiding behind the bed. Upon glancing once more at the closed door to make sure no one was coming she took another look down at her shaky hands that slowly became visible. When realizing she lost her quirk Hagakure felt like her plan was quickly backfiring when she saw her usual invisible fingers wiggling back at her. "Oh crap…."
X
"So, you're one of Shotos little friends…" Dabi asked leaning against the bed and sitting on the floor next to her. It had been a few minutes before he decided to break the ice knowing she wasn't in a talking mood and who could blame the girl. "How's he doing by the way?"
"Like you care…" she grumbled clutching her knees closer to her chest.
"Surprisingly I do." he said eyes fixated on the door.
She couldn't tell what he was thinking or why he was even still here and talking to her. Clearly, he was back to his old ways, and she couldn't let her guard down around him.
"You're trying to figure out what I'm thinking huh…." His voice sounded exhausted as if every word coming out of his mouth took too much out of him. Lazily he lifted a finger to the side of his head. "If you go to as many places as I have…and you'll recognize that look." He gave a bitter laugh. "Always trying to figure out poor Toya Todoroki…"
"Why are you here?"
"Got nowhere else to be right now." He tiredly shrugged, not at all surprised by her wary tone.
"N-no, I mean why are you here? And why did you stop him?" she placed her chin on her knees curiously staring at him.
"I didn't do anything." he said, averting his eyes to the ground. "Kenzo was the one that called for him. Might wanna ask him that. And as for why I'm here...hell if I know." He scuffed rubbing his cheek and tilting his head until his eyes met hers. "So, tell me…how is little Shoto?"
"H-he's fine. As far as I know." She quietly said hoping that it was true. She hated not knowing how everyone was. "He's been trying to come and see you; you know."
"Has he now….?" He dropped his eyes to the ground.
Nodding, she thought back on all the times Todoroki would come home after another failed attempt at visiting him. "For the last few months both your brothers and sister have been trying to see you. So, what happened?"
"Natsuo and Fuyumi huh….?" He gave a faint smile. "Man, it's been a while since I've seen them too…."
"Shouldn't have been." She quietly said when he lifted his eyes back to her. "Todoroki's been really worried sick about you. We've been trying to help."
"Really now?" Smirking, Dabi lifted his chin before giving her a raspy chuckle when she started nervously fidgeting. "Mannnn I can't believe my baby brother's already all grown up and a man huh."
"W-what?" she quickly blinked up at him now confused.
"So, tell me, has he been treating you nicely? Been a gentleman like I know that punk would do."
"Oh nononono you got the wrong idea!" she quickly waved her bound hands in front of her face. "We're not like that!" She finished feeling her face redden. Why was she even having this conversation?
"Hmm is that so…" he quietly said thinking that maybe Natsuo would eventually have that talk with their youngest brother since he knew Endeavor sure wouldn't. "That's good to hear."
"Huh?" Uraraka slowly lowered her hands realizing that there was actually something else that was bothering him.
"That he has Natsuo there for him, since I can't even be around to…" covering his face Dabi surprisingly let out a loud hysterical laugh, keeping his now shaking hands on his temple. "I can't even be a big brother to them, how crazy is that?!"
"Dabi please tell me what happened?" she calmly asked again.
"I don't know ok! I remember being in the hospital…everything was good…everything!" he whimpered retreating into himself. "I thought…we thought I was making progress, then I got a visit from this doctor…."
"Doctor?" she carefully asked, remembering their last meeting.
"Doctor Fujiwara…he seemed nice enough, but I don't know what happened after. I was told that my parents came to see me right after the visit from the doctor and that I had lost it. After that they wouldn't let me see anyone…and it didn't matter how much I begged them… they wouldn't listen to me. A couple of days later, the same doctor came back but he wasn't alone this time. They took me and brough me here…" he chuckled. "I never wanted to leave the hospital…I thought I was getting better!"
Uraraka flinched at his loud desperate shout but nonetheless let him continue.
"They kept me in this room upstairs for months until Toga finally let me out…said she could make me whole again." His face suddenly changed and for the first time ever, she saw the face of someone beaten and broken down to the point that he couldn't comprehend what was wrong or right anymore. "I told her…I didn't want to. I told her just to take me back to the hospital instead, but I guess that broke her heart. So, I ended up in this room…303."
"303?" she frowned shaking her head in confusion. "What's there?" When Dabi silently shook his head, she carefully moved closer making sure to keep her eyes on him. "Dabi, what's room 303?"
Scoffing Dabi started rocking back and forth. "You never want to go into room 303…that's where he is...that's where Ipponmichi always ends." He locked eyes with her and pointed at his head. "One road…"
Upon seeing his frightened face Uraraka was at a loss for words.
"And as sad as it is to say…I was actually happy." Leaning his head back against the mattress he closed his eyes as a slight trail of blood streaked down his cheek. "For someone in my situation, that's as close as I'll ever be to being happy and I know it, and as messed up as it sounds…being there made me feel like I was on my way to making peace with it. I miss talking to my brothers and sister, I miss my mom…" he chuckled to himself feeling another strain of blood caress his cheek. "Hell, I even miss Endeavor…what does that say about me?"
Pressing her lips together Uraraka gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "You'll get there again Dabi. I know it."
Glancing down at her hand resting on his shoulder he let out a sharp bitter laugh before roughly moving it away. "Can't even save yourself, what makes you think anyone can save me."
Returning her gaze back down to the floor, she knew he had a point. If she was able to get herself caught in the first place, what made her think that she had a right to offer reassurance to anyone else. But she couldn't afford to let that kind of thinking overtake her. She wouldn't. They would find a way out no matter what.
"Dabi, do you know what they plan to do?" she asked both wanting to know but also afraid to hear the answer.
Shaking his head, he swiftly got to his feet lazily pacing the room. "Not like I could or even would tell you. But I can tell you this…" he leaned back against the dresser trying to get a read on her. "If you think Togas bad news…stay away from Hana."
"We've met." She disappointedly frowned at herself remembering the night at the park, or as much of it as she could before she managed to black out or how she even got here. "Do you know what her quirk is?"
"My guess is as good as yours. I'm not particularly fond of her…" he felt his throat tighten watching his own hand tremble in fear before he grabbed his metal belt. "But her eyes…her eyes will let you know."
"Eyes?"
Nodding he quietly muttered to himself. "Most dangerous ones are red and white…red will make you do things…." He gave a strained smirk, but she could tell he was afraid. "White…white will make her see. Make her see so much…."
"W-wait hang on. So it's true, she has multiple quirks?!" She suddenly felt her face pale and a sudden nausea build up in the pit of her stomach. Did that mean they were right? Did that mean Hana was working with One for All at some point?
Swiftly getting to his feet Dabi frowned down at her before roughly picking her up by the arm and freeing her hands. "Alright enough of this shit."
Before she was able to ask more, he opened the door and threw her at one of the guards already waiting ordering them to bring her back to her cell. While being dragged along the long hallway and down the flight of stairs she got a better view of her surroundings this time, realizing it wasn't your typical hospital setting as she thought before. In fact, the bottom floor or at least in the direction they were heading, even the smell was different compared to the highly sterile smell from before no doubt trying to hide all of the horrible things they were doing.
The lights on either side of them continued to flicker in a way that told her they were in their last life and along each side just like on all the other floors, there were doors on either side with people banging on them.
"Move it." One of the guards said when she stopped to hear a woman's hysterical crying behind one of the doors and tightened his hold on her arm. By the time she was shoved inside her room that was barely illuminated by the small dim light of the small bathroom. She landed on her hands barely catching herself before they locked the door behind her.
Quickly getting to his feet the second the door opened, Bakugo didn't spare a moment in wrapping his arms around her, barely able to contain the relief he felt that she was back before looking her over.
Uraraka felt herself shaking after everything she just went through, thankful that she had him here to help anchor her otherwise she knew she would break down and cry. She knew she wasn't the only one when she saw the sudden fear in his eyes replaced with that of rage.
"Katsuki…" she weakly said wincing in pain when he gently tilted her face sideways to see the fresh bruise on her cheek.
"He's dead."
"Katsuki I'm fine." Her voice cracked. "He-"
"HE'S FUCKIN DEAD!" he bellowed out punching the door again. "He's dead…he's…"
At the sound of his weakened and raw voice she couldn't help but feel her eyes tear up, seeing the bed in disarray and all that was left was the mattress, blanket, and pillow as he slumped back down against the wall with his head down.
He didn't say anything else, just keeping his head low, elbows resting on his knees. But he didn't need to say anything else for her to understand how he felt.
Swallowing down the lump in her throat she quietly sat herself down next to him.
"I'm sorry…." He rasped out unmoving. "I was useless…should've been able to-"
"No!" she firmly said pivoting her body so she could try and lock eyes with him but knew it was in vain since he wouldn't lift his head. "Don't even think that."
"You were standing right next to me Ochaco…and I couldn't even protect you." He said more to himself than to her. "How the fuck does that make it alright?!"
"Someone once told me we can't save everyone. As much as we want to." she quietly said, eyeing his bruised and bloodied fists. "And I could say the same thing for myself- that I shouldn't even need to be rescued. But here we are." She gave a weak smile, letting her eyes drag around the dark dingy room they were in and furiously wiping a tear that was threatening to fall. "Katsuki it wasn't your fault…." Placing a gentle warm hand on his cheek she tried to turn his head. "Please look at me."
Keeping his eyes averted, she leaned in closer to him until he slowly met her gaze. "Look at me I'm fine ok. He didn't get the chance to hurt me anymore than this."
She saw his eyes flicker to the side of her face before he took a deep breath through his nose, mouth in a thin line. "What I said still stands, I'm going to kill that bastard as soon as I see him."
X
She didn't know how much time had gone by. She wasn't sure whether it was an hour, a few hours or even the next day. She was barely even aware of the food that was left inside their cell until the sound of a knob turning made her eyes flutter open realizing that they had fallen asleep in the same spot with Bakugos arms protectively wrapped around her shoulder that was covered by his jacket.
Carefully getting to their feet he firmly gripped her hand with his own as they eyed Dabi and Kenzo walking inside accompanied by a few guards.
After Uraraka had explained to him what exactly had happened with Kage which only seemed to fuel his anger further, he wasn't surprised to see one of the former leagues of villains in front of them, but it still somewhat caught him off guard about how like himself Dabi looked, although he could see a hint of something else there that wasn't there before.
"Time to go." Dabi said signaling some of the guards inside.
"Like we'd go anywhere with you assholes." Bakugo seethed tightening his hold on her hand.
"Not much has changed from the last time we met." Kenzo grinned watching the both of them as if to challenge either of them to make a move.
"Yeah, you fuckin lackey ready for another round?" Bakugo narrowed his eyes getting into a defensive stance.
"Sorry kid, but last time I saw you it didn't turn out so well for you." Kenzo smugly patted the back of his own head.
Widening his eyes Bakugo took a few dangerous steps forward realizing now who attacked him from behind back at the dorms. "You-"
"The boss wants to see you." Dabi cut in standing next to Kenzo and eyed Bakugo. "So, let's just get this over with."
"Make it easy on yourself. Either come with or we can let Zaiaku in." Kenzo narrowed his green eyes. "Either way you're coming Dynamight."
"Katsuki-"
Squeezing her hand one more time he looked back at her before locking eyes with both villains. "I'll go, but she stays."
"NO!" She began to protest as he moved away.
Nodding they cautiously watched the guards cuff him and move him out right as Uraraka ran towards them but was harshly pushed back against the wall by an invisible force field when one of the guards lifted his hand.
"Katsuki!"
Squinting his eyes at the obnoxious bright lights once they went up the stairs, he quickly let his eyes study the layout since this was part of the building he hadn't been to. Inside the room he was led to anything that could be white was white. The walls, the floors, it got to the point he felt himself get a headache. Everything reeked of bleach like they were trying to cover up the smell of vomit or blood…
Along one of the walls stood a large clear window overlooking the entire room with various people dressed in suits talking amongst themselves while eagerly watching.
"Where the fuck are we?" He grits his teeth when one of the guards roughly pushed him down onto a thick metal chair and the other strapped his hands and legs down when he tried to get up, while Kenzo and Dabi stood against the wall waiting.
"Kacchan?"
Snapping his head to look over his shoulder he saw Deku being dragged inside but from what he could tell the green haired boy looked a little out of it, barely even moving on his own as he saw the guards placing him on a similar chair a few feet facing him.
"Hey…hey what the hell?!" Bakugo felt his heart begin pounding against his ribcage trying to lift his hands the moment he saw them strap the One for All user down. "What is he doing here?!"
"Kacchan?" Deku desperately tried to lift his heavy eyelids to see Bakugo staring at him with wide frightened eyes. "What's going…on?"
"Oh come on Dynamight, you didn't think you were the only one invited?" Kage chuckled, appearing next to Deku and repeatedly snapping his finger in front of his face to wake him. "He should come out of it soon, at least that's what Zaiaku said."
"You…." Bakugo growled furiously shaking when he tried to get up upon seeing Kages smug face starring straight back at him. "I'm going to fuckin murder you!"
"Still mad about Uravity huh?"
"Urar…raka? Is she… ok?" Deku shook his head trying to cling to subconsciousness.
"Well look who's slowly waking up." Kage grinned.
"Nice nose." Bakugo slowly smirked when Kage turned a menacing glare his way. "Would ask you where you got it from, but I think we both know the answer to that."
"Keep your mouth shut." Kage frowned giving Bakugo a quick punch to the face making the blond chuckle.
"Looks better on you too." Bakugo grinned. "That's my girl always a fighter."
"Kacchan!"
"It's fine Deku." Bakugo slowly lifted his eyes. "This bitch can't hit worth shit."
"Looks like I'm missing out on the party." Bousou said walking inside and standing along one of the walls.
"Got plenty left for you too you overgrown piece of shit." Bakugo said.
"I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you…" Bousou chuckled keeping his eyes glued to the door until Zaiaku waltz inside. "After all, you wouldn't want to see any harm come to something as pretty as that now, would ya?"
"No…" Deku whispered right as Bakugo whipped his head around to see Zaiaku digging her nails into Uraraka's back who's hands were bound, and mouth wrapped in tape.
"NO! YOU SAID YOUR BOSS WANTED ME!" He shouted at Kenzo and Dabi who remained unfazed as they exchanged looks and he continued to tug on his restraints.
"Change in plans boys." Zaiaku eyed him with a shine to her eyes, dragging her eye along his body. "Don't worry cutie she'll be fine."
With her heart racing a mile a minute Uraraka winced when Zaiaku roughly shoved her in the last seat in between both boys.
"Get away from her!" Bakugo shouted as he and Deku continued to struggle against their restraints.
How did everything get so messed up? How did things go to crap this badly? She didn't know, all she knew was that she just wanted to scream and cry at the way everyone's eyes were now fixated on her. Both of the people she cared for were now staring at her with the same amount of fear and terror she was feeling.
"Now now….is that any way to treat a patient?"
She blinked a couple of times when she heard a familiar voice that echoed around the room followed by the creaking door being closed from behind. She wasn't sure who it was or why both Deku and Bakugo suddenly became eerily quiet as they stared over her shoulder with wide shocked faces. She wasn't even able to question them about what they saw or what was wrong due to the tape on her mouth, only able to hear her rapid breathing through her nose. 'What's going on?!'
"Well, if it isn't my favorite student Ochaco Uraraka. I usually don't allow meetings without appointments, but since it's you I guess I'll make an exception this time." The familiar warm face smiled down at her when she stepped in front of her.
'It can't be…!' she inwardly screamed, shaking in her seat as the person leaned her face closer to hers with the same glasses she remembered. "Ms. Yano!"
"What's that? I can't hear you bestie." Ms. Yano smiled, leaning her ear closer to her in a mock gesture and only getting muffled sounds from Uraraka in return. "But you know what? I've been looking forward to this moment since our first meeting…or I should say since your first meeting with Ms. Yano." Ms. Yano giggled letting Uraraka see her now yellow eyes as a cold wave of dread washed over her.
'Toga…'
