"Wow, you must have it rough, kid." Zoro said, patting the child's head. Naruto could only nod his head and begin to cry. "Hey, hey, do not cry." How about telling you about my adventures?" Zoro said this while kneeling down and patting Naruto's head. As he began to stop crying, the child nodded. But instead, he focused on comforting the young boy in front of him.
"Well, kid," he said, lightly ruffling Naruto's hair. "I do not know much about being a ninja or whatever, but I do know you are powerful." He paused for emphasis before continuing firmly, staring directly into Naruto's eyes.
"You have made it through a few minutes or an hour here in this forest by yourself, have not you? That takes strength." Naruto looked up at Zoro with wide eyes before breaking into an uncertain smile. For once in his life, someone was acknowledging him and seeing value in him.
"Tell you what, kid," Zoro said after giving Naruto some time to process their conversation thus far. "Since it is your birthday today, how about I train you myself?" Naruto accepted his offer with excitement and joy, nodding eagerly. "And do not worry about your parents or siblings," Zoro said with a mischievous glint in his eye. "I will make sure they do not find us." Naruto was surprised because no one in the village offered to train him.
So when Zoro offered to train him, he wanted to cry. He hugged Zoro and sobbed into the old swordsman's chest. "Wow, this kid must have a lot of problems." Zoro contemplated as the crying child fell asleep. "Maybe I just found a successor to my legacy," Zoro reflected as he placed Naruto on the bed.

(Retelling of Naruto: Successor of Zoro from Draak D. Sol)
Chapter 2: Successor of Santoryu
It's been nearly a decade since the fateful meeting between Uzumaki Naruto and Roronoa Zoro. In those nine years, Naruto has grown immensely both in strength and skill, thanks to his mentor Zoro. The Santoryu style was no longer a mystery to him, as he had fully grasped its techniques with ease. And not only that, but he also learned the Nitoryu and Ittoryu sword styles from Zoro himself.
While he may not have mastered them completely just yet, at fourteen years old, Roronoa Naruto (formerly known as Uzumaki) is certainly making great progress towards becoming a formidable swordsman. Currently training on secluded ground with nothing but an enormous boulder on his back for added resistance, Naruto effortlessly completes one thousand push-ups before tossing the rock aside like it were nothing.
"Phew...that was quite the warm-up," he says while cracking his back and taking a moment to catch his breath. Standing tall at 5'10", which is quite impressive for someone of such a young age (I should know since I'm also fourteen), Naruto is dressed simply in black pants that allow him maximum movement during training sessions. His once lean frame now boasts defined muscles akin to those of his late mentor Zoro before their two-year timeskip training journey together.
His signature spiky crimson hair remains as short and unkempt as ever, while his light tan skin bears multiple faint scars earned through countless battles over the years. But despite these battle wounds marking his body, there's no denying that Naruto's physique has drastically changed since we last saw him at five years old - almost unrecognizable due to the loss of baby fat and slightly chiseled facial features.
However, it seems that along with physical changes comes unwanted attention from admirers who can't seem to resist swooning over this handsome teenage swordsman-in-training. With a slight sigh, Naruto mentions to himself that perhaps it's time for him to visit his dear sensei, Zoro once again.
Flashback. One year ago.
A thirteen-year-old Naruto sauntered towards his humble abode with a triumphant skip in his gait. "I can't wait to share the news with Zoro-sensei, though I wouldn't be surprised if he's still snoozing or indulging in more sake," Naruto mused to himself, clutching a broken katana in his hand.
Naruto had lost count of the swords he'd shattered during his rigorous training. Despite his attempts to forge his own blades, they inexplicably detonated, leaving him frustrated in his quest for a durable weapon.
"Zoro-sensei, I'm back!" Naruto exclaimed as he stepped into the shack. He found Zoro sprawled on the bed, seemingly asleep. Approaching his sensei, he gently shook him awake. "Hey, sensei, wake up," Naruto urged, but his efforts were met with silence. His heart sank as he noticed Zoro's skin had grown cold. "Oh no, oh no, no..." Naruto whispered in horror, frantically checking for a pulse at Zoro's neck and wrist. To his dismay, there was none.
"Sensei!" Naruto wailed, embracing Zoro's lifeless body. His eyes fell upon three katanas lying on a table, along with Zoro's black bandana and a folded note. Taking the note in shaking hands, Naruto's tears flowed freely.
"Dear Naruto, the years we've spent together have been among the most cherished of my life. I haven't experienced this much joy and laughter since my days with the Straw Hats. I'm certain that today you will have completed your training. Thus, as one legend ends, another begins. I know you can achieve great things, Naruto, for you are my successor."
-Roronoa Zoro
Naruto's gaze shifted back to Zoro's face, where a faint smile lingered. His sensei had passed away with contentment, knowing that his legacy would live on in Naruto's capable hands.
Flashback ends.
But then reality sets in as he remembers the heart-wrenching truth - Zoro passed away one year ago in his sleep, with a bottle of sake still clutched tightly in his hands. The news hit Naruto like a ton of bricks, especially since he had just completed training in Ittoryu and was eager to share his progress with Zoro.
The loss of such an influential figure in his life has been difficult for Naruto to come to terms with. But even though Zoro may no longer be physically present, the lessons and memories they shared together will forever live on within Naruto's heart and continue to shape him into the skilled swordsman he is becoming.
Ten minutes later.
Naruto stood in front of the mirror, admiring his new outfit. He had just finished changing into a set of clothes that he was especially proud of - a black jacket, a black hakama, and black waist belts adorned with red rope and silver plastic pendants.
The jacket was expertly lined and tailored to fit his slim frame perfectly, made from smooth cotton that felt comfortable against his skin. Meanwhile, the hakama was ankle-length and crafted from soft polyester and tender fleece, providing both warmth and flexibility for any physical activity.
With a satisfied nod at his reflection, Naruto proceeded to use the belts to hold his swords in place on either side of him. He adjusted them until they were secure but easily accessible for quick draws if necessary.
He tied a black bandana around his left bicep as an homage. His appearance is similar to Ragna the Bloodedge's usual outfit from BlazBlue, and Naruto couldn't help but feel excited for what the day would bring. Today marked the genin exams where he would officially become a ninja - something he had been eagerly anticipating since he first started training.
"I have enough time before I need to head out," Naruto thought aloud as he ran down the familiar path towards Zoro-sensei's grave.
After five minutes of running through trees and over obstacles with ease, thanks to years of intense training under Zoro-sensei's guidance, Naruto finally arrived at their meeting spot in the forest of death. It was here that they first met when Zoro took him on as his student all those years ago.
"Hey there, Zoro-sensei," Naruto said as he kneeled respectfully in front of the grave marker. "I'm back again today because it's finally happening - I'm taking my genin exams! And you know what? Thanks to your teachings and constant guidance, I've been able to develop my own techniques that even you would be envious of." He chuckled to himself, knowing that his mentor would be proud.
"I'm sorry, I can't stay longer, sensei," Naruto said with a tinge of sadness in his voice. "But I have to get going, or else I'll be late for the exams. But don't worry, I'll make sure to do my best and make you proud!" With one last bow, he got up and took off towards the Ninja Academy at full speed.
As he ran through the village streets, Naruto couldn't help but feel grateful for all the support and guidance he had received from Zoro-sensei over the years. And now it was finally time for him to put everything he had learned into action as he embarked on this new chapter in his journey as a ninja.
Timeskip. Ninja Academy.
The academy, a place of learning and growth for young aspiring ninja, was quite vast in size. It consisted of several buildings that had been erected over time, each one holding its own purpose and significance within the academy grounds. However, amidst all these structures, there were two identifying features that stood out above the rest.
Firstly, there was a large tree situated in front of one of the buildings. This tree not only provided shade and beauty to the surrounding area but also held a swing on one of its branches, - a popular spot for students to relax during breaks or after classes. But what truly made this tree stand out was the giant sign hanging from it with the kanji character for "fire" (火) emblazoned upon it. This fiery symbol represented both passion and determination - qualities that were highly valued in ninjas.
Secondly, as you entered any classroom within the academy walls, you would immediately notice their spaciousness and grandeur. The theory behind such a design was based on the belief that larger classrooms led to expansive education - expanding even beyond just knowledge but also reaching towards personal growth and development. And this ideology extended even to something as simple as having high ceilings within each room.
But perhaps what caught people's attention most when entering a classroom at this academy was where everything was positioned within it. In front of every blackboard stood a podium that had been deliberately placed far from students' desks so that they could have an unobstructed view of their teacher while also allowing said teacher to easily observe everyone at once.
On this particular day at Naruto's Ninja Academy class, he arrived ten minutes late due to his usual antics along his way there - much to his teachers' annoyance, I'm sure! As he walked into his classroom nonchalantly donning his pre-shippuden attire (because, let's face it, I'm not writing all that shit down.), he took note that there were still five minutes left before class officially began.
As he made his way to the back of the room and sat down, two familiar figures entered through the door - his sisters. Uzumaki Namikaze Naruko and Natsumi, both standing at a petite 5'5", were having a rough morning. Their parents had praised them as potential rookies and kunoichi of the year, which only added more pressure to their already stressful lives. Then they were chased by ravenous fanboys who couldn't resist their charms, causing them to be late for class. And on top of all that chaos, they couldn't even find their own brother!
But finally spotting him sitting in his usual spot at the back of the classroom, Naruko pointed out Naruto's location to her sister with relief evident in her voice. However, just as they started making their way towards him, they found themselves surrounded by yet another group of fanboys vying for their attention.
"Naruko-sama you look lovely today!" One bold admirer exclaimed, while others chimed in with similar compliments. But it seemed like Naruko was not in the mood for any flattery this morning, as she quickly shut them down with a swift kick...in an area that shall not be named.
With one fanboy now writhing on the ground, holding himself in pain (ouch!), Iruka sensei stepped into action and commanded everyone to sit down and pay attention - using what some would call "Big Head jutsu" (although we prefer "Big Voice jutsu") to get everyone's attention.
Finally settling into their seats next to each other near Hinata, who had chosen a seat next to Naruto (aww, how sweet), Naruko and Natsumi took deep breaths, trying to calm themselves from all that excitement earlier.
"Alright class," Iruka-sensei announced sternly after regaining control over his students, "today is the day of your genin exams. So when I call out your name, please come up to the front and prepare for your test." And so it began, with Akimichi Chouji being the first one called up.
As each student's name was called and they made their way to the front of the classroom, Naruto couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness building up inside him. He had been waiting for this moment for what seemed like forever - finally getting to prove himself as a capable ninja worthy of becoming a genin.
"Naruto, you're up next," Iruka announced, glancing up from the board. The classroom fell silent, save for the whispers of Naruko and Natsumi. The name 'Roronoa' was unknown to them.
Naruto rose from his seat, surprising the girls. They had always known him as Uzumaki Namikaze Naruto, not Roronoa.
"Naruto, demonstrate the Substitution, Transformation, and Clone Techniques to pass," Iruka instructed, setting down his clipboard.
"I'm ready," Naruto declared confidently. As Mizuki hurled a kunai towards him, Naruto swiftly placed his index and middle fingers to his forehead and vanished. In his place appeared a small, green toy dinosaur with a white underbelly and tiny fangs peeking out from its closed mouth.
"Instant Transmission," Naruto explained, "and the toy is from the Substitute technique in Pokémon."
"Excellent," Iruka acknowledged, making a note on his clipboard. "Now, perform the Transformation."
Naruto nodded and interlocked his hands. "Transformation!" he cried. A cloud of smoke enveloped him, and when it cleared, a green-haired man with the same katanas as Naruto stood before them.
"Who is this?" Iruka inquired as Naruto dispelled the Henge.
"A younger version of my late master," Naruto replied, his voice thick with emotion.
Naruko and Natsumi exchanged confused glances. Their parents had never mentioned Naruto training with anyone else.
"Finally, Naruto, execute a Clone Technique," Iruka said, finishing his notes on the Henge.
Naruto crossed his index and middle fingers on both hands. "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" he exclaimed. A flurry of smoke filled the room, and twenty-nine copies of Naruto materialized.
"Incredible, Naruto!" Iruka exclaimed, rising from his chair.
"But Iruka, we cannot pass him," Mizuki interjected, determined to flunk at least one student. "We don't know where he learned that technique."
"I witnessed my 'father' use it for paperwork," Naruto explained, dismissing the clones. Mizuki's plan was foiled; he had not anticipated Naruto's mastery of an advanced jutsu.
"Return to your seat, Naruto," Iruka instructed. "Uzumaki Namikaze Naruko, it's your turn."
"Alright, class, let's showcase your jutsu," Iruka announced, clipboard in hand.
Hinata activated her Byakugan, while Chouji executed his Expansion Jutsu. Shikamaru performed his Shadow Imitation Jutsu, and Kiba displayed his Fang Over Fang. Sasuke unleashed his Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu, Ino performed her Mind Transfer Jutsu, and Naruko and Natsumi showcased the Rasengan.
"Naruto, it's your turn," Iruka said, gesturing for him to approach the clearing. Naruto summoned ten clones around him. "We've seen that already," scoffed Sasuke.
Unfazed, Naruto donned his headband and unsheathed three katanas. He held Wado Ichimonji in his mouth, Shusui in his left hand, and Sandai Kitetsu in his right.
"In honor of Zoro-sensei, prepare for Santoryu: Great Dragon Twister!" Naruto announced, spinning rapidly. A fierce wind dragon encircled him, decimating his clones.
As the dragon dissipated, Naruto sheathed his katanas and secured his headband. "N-Naruto, that was incredible!" Iruka exclaimed, his jaw gaping.
Naruto approached the students, stopping before Hinata. "That...was amazing, N-Naruto-kun," she whispered, a blush coloring her cheeks. Hinata reached for his collar, pulling him down for a kiss that sent shockwaves through the class.
Naruto responded to Hinata's kiss, his fingers entwining with hers. The moment sent eyes bulging and jaws shattering to the floor.
"EHHHH?!" The whole class exclaimed in shock.
The classroom erupted in a symphony of gasps and exclamations as Naruto, the notorious class clown, responded to the unexpected kiss from his crush by grabbing her smaller hands. The shock on everyone's faces was almost comical - wide eyes, dropped jaws, and even a few exaggerated jaw drops that probably could have reached the floor if they were physically possible.
It was quite a scene to behold - students frozen in their seats, some with mouths agape while others struggled to process what just happened. And there stood Naruto, looking like he had just won the lottery or pulled off an epic prank.
But let's be real here, this wasn't your typical romantic movie moment where the main character finally gets their long-awaited kiss. No, no, no, this was pure chaos and confusion at its finest. I mean, come on, who responds to a surprise smooch by grasping someone's hands? It's not exactly smooth or suave.
And yet somehow, it worked for Naruto. Maybe it was his quick thinking under pressure, or maybe he just wanted to make sure she didn't try anything else without his consent (I don't blame him). Either way, we all know that Naruto never fails to entertain us with his antics.
But back to the present situation - as everyone continued to process what they just witnessed with varying levels of shock and amusement (and some trying desperately not to burst into laughter), one thing was clear: this would definitely be talked about for days...or possibly even years...to come.
Moments later, the students resumed their seats. Iruka distributed the headbands to those who had passed. "Roronoa Naruto," he announced. Naruto rose from his seat and approached Iruka, receiving his headband. He affixed the metal plate to his bandana with a determined expression.
"C-congratulations, N-Naruto-kun," Hinata whispered shyly, planting a gentle kiss on his cheek.
To everyone's surprise, Naruto turned and reciprocated the kiss, sending a flush of color to Hinata's face and nearly causing her to faint. After a moment of stunned silence, Iruka dismissed the students, instructing the graduates to return in a week for team assignments.
"Natsumi, have you seen Naru-chan anywhere?" Naruko inquired about her sibling.
"Not a trace..." Naruko replied sorrowfully. Naruto's actions had deeply affected them. They had no recollection of him ever wielding a blade, let alone three. His enigmatic new name, Roronoa Naruto, further perplexed them.
"His true name is Uzumaki Namikaze Naruto!" Naruko exclaimed. "Once we locate him, we must demand an explanation."
"There he is!" Naruko shouted, pointing at her younger brother as he emerged from the school gate hand-in-hand with Hinata.
"Get him!" Natsumi urged, and they both set off in pursuit.
Upon hearing the pleas of both his sisters, Naruto swiftly scooped up Hinata in a bridal style and dashed away. Hinata's face was flushed with embarrassment, her cheeks matching the fiery red of Kushina's hair. Despite being chased by the girls for three hours straight, Naruto continued to carry Hinata until they reached her clan compound.
As he gently placed her down on solid ground, Hinata blushed even more intensely at the nickname given to this new shade of red by her beloved boyfriend - 'Hinata Red'. And just as she thought things couldn't get any more embarrassing, Naruto noticed Mizuki approaching them with a large scroll on his back.
Curious about Mizuki's intentions, Naruto leaped onto a nearby tree and quickly caught up to him. "What is he doing?" Naruto wondered as he prepared to stop Mizuki from whatever it was that he was planning.
Upon landing on the branch, he immediately noticed that the scroll in front of him was no ordinary one. It was none other than the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing, a powerful and highly coveted item. To ensure his safety and secrecy, he utilized his Henge technique to conceal himself from any prying eyes. With Wado lchimonji firmly grasped in his hands, he prepared himself for what lay ahead.
Mizuki, clutching the scroll tightly, smirked. "Hmph, time to deliver this to Orochimaru-sama."
As he traversed the familiar branch, a sharp "Ittoryu lai: Shishi Sonson" echoed through the air. Landing on another branch, Mizuki grimaced as a deep gash appeared across his chest. "Gah! D-Damn!" he exclaimed, collapsing to one knee.
"Why do you possess the Forbidden Scroll, Mizuki-teme?" Naruto demanded, his grip on Wado Ichimonji tightening.
"H-Heh, I'm delivering it to Orochimaru-sama, brat. Together, we shall obliterate the Hidden Leaf Village and those demon brats!" Mizuki retorted, rising to his feet despite the agonizing pain.
(Omit Mizuki's rant.)
"Listen, I may not be the most affectionate sibling, but I don't view my sisters as demons. They may have made my childhood turbulent, but they also led me to Zoro-sensei, a master swordsman unparalleled in his mastery of these three swords."
Naruto adjusted his bandana and gripped all three swords. Mizuki lunged at him with a kunai drawn, his eyes ablaze with insanity.
"In honor of Zoro-sensei, Santoryu lai: Shishi Sonson." Three distinct clicks resonated as three parallel gashes appeared on Mizuki's chest.
"For those listening, take Mizuki to the Hokage's office immediately." With that, Naruto vanished, leaving his sisters to apprehend Mizuki.
To be continued.
And that is it for the chapter. I got my hands tied with two new fanfictions and a few other things. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Please leave a comment if you liked it.
