Chapter 3: Date with Destiny
Review Replies
Magi Mari: I was interested in the OC x Setsuna pairing but unfortunately that overdone intro with Deku is a massive turn off as well as his multiple quirks even if you try to label it under 1 quirk. If you wanted something Anubis like theme for a character you could've just used Cyno as inspiration. Good luck with the story tho.
ThermalsniperN7: Okay, you got multiple things wrong. First, the intro with Izuku was to set up the friendship he would have with Bayek in canon. Second, it's not multiple quirks under the guise of a single quirk; that is a mistake on your part. We're drawing on multiple iterations of Anubis to build Bayek's quirk, which shouldn't be a problem at all. Third… Who the hell is Cyno?
Dragon Emperor0: Cyno is a character from Genshin Impact with an Anubis motif. Honestly I don't think using him as a base would've worked—MHA is a battle manga, not an MMORPG.
Thermalsnipern7: And there ya have it.
Knightmare Lord: How's Himiko gonna fit into all this, I wonder?
ThermalsniperN7: She'll be in Class 1-A, but she'll be meeting with Alexios at some point.
Dragon Emperor0: This story mainly focuses on Class 1-B, so we'll only be making brief showings of Class A here and there in flashbacks during visit scenes with Izuku and Bayek that'll happen every so often in a particular chapter, so it'll take a little while for those two to meet in person.
The next few days had been pretty mundane in comparison to the first had classes with other pro heroes of Japan, such as grammar with Present Mic, for example. All in all, it certainly felt like a normal school.
This was good, since a particular subject being the only thing taught wouldn't do much good and become monotonous later.
Then they ate lunch in the main cafeteria, where Bayek was able to catch up with Izuku and his friends Himiko, Ochako, and Iida, before going to sit with Itsuka and Setsuna.
Though things did get interesting when Hero Class came, and everyone didn't expect it to be taught by…
"I AM HERE! Walking through the door like a hero!" All Might exclaimed as he entered the room, much to everyone's excitement.
"All Might's teaching?!" Tetsutetsu exclaimed with a grin.
"Aw yeah, this is gonna be fun!" Setsuna grinned.
"I second that." Monoma nodded in agreement.
"Welcome to Hero Basic Training, think of it as Heroing 101. Here is where you'll learn to fight in the name of good!" The Symbol of Peace told them. "And today's lesson–will pull no punches!" He added, holding up a card that said 'BATTLE'.
"Fight training?!" Alexios grinned.
"Hello, fun day." Bayek chuckled with a grin of his own.
"And part of being heroes is looking good!" The man exclaimed as he pressed a button, and suitcases came out of the wall. "These costumes were created based on what you submitted to the support department, or in the case of some of you, brought with you from your home countries." He added, looking at Bayek, Alexios and another transfer student named Pony Tsunotori. "Now, get suited up and head to training ground beta!" He instructed.
"I have been itching to put my hero outfit on for a long time." The Egyptian boy grinned as everyone grabbed their suitcases.
"Same here, friend." The Metephorical 'Ghost of Sparta' nodded in agreement.
(Later)
As the students made their way to training ground beta, All Might was waiting for them.
"They say clothes make the pros and lo and behold ladies and gentlemen, you are the proof!" He exclaimed. "From now on you are now–Heroes in training!" He continued. "Oh-ho this is getting me all revved up! You look so cool!" He added. "Now, shall we get started, ya bunch of newbies?!" He grinned.
Bayek in particular was embracing ancient Egypt with a specially made Anubis outfit. It had a helmet in the form of a jackal's head with Bayek's eyes peering out from inside. The rest of his body looked like a normal man, though. His attire consisted of an armored vest that showed his abs, a pair of pants and combat shoes made to look like feet. The common color palette for the outfit was black and gold.
He also had a pair of steel khopesh blades in sheaths on his belt and a pair of Assassins Creed style hidden blades on both hands. This was in case of a need for non-quirk related fighting.
Alexios, meanwhile, was wearing a bronze armor set that was accented with red and invoked the same design as the Spartan War Hero armor from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, complete with a shield and a double headed spear.
"Well, someone's certainly put in work at the tanning salon." Setsuna whistled, causing Bayek to turn and see the girl in a green skin tight organic body suit that looked like it was scaled, along with a pair of boots, gloves, orange bracers, and orange belt, and a matching green mask.
Said bodysuit did a great job of accentuating her gorgeous figure, including her ample bosom.
"The skin tone is a perk of living in Egypt." Bayek shrugged, glad his mask hid his blush. "Nice outfit, by the way." He added.
"Thanks, you're not half bad yourself." The lizard girl purred as she approached him, her chest making contact with his as she leaned in to make eye contact with him. "Heck, not even a quarter bad." She chuckled, licking her pointed teeth.
"Setsuna, leave the poor boy alone." Itsuka groaned, grabbing the greenette with her big hand.
"OK OK, jeez!" The girl groaned as she suddenly split apart and reassembled out of Kendo's grip.
Bayek let out a quiet sigh of relief as he calmed his beating heart. That girl was more forward than his ex-girlfriend back in Egypt.
"Already getting girls crawling all over you, huh?" Alexios chuckled in amusement.
"Shut up." Bayek retorted.
"Such sinful behavior." Ibarra Shiozaki whispered to herself.
"Now that you're ready, it's time for us to begin." All Might told them.
"Sir." Juzo Honenuke said, raising his hand. "These are the spots from the exams, right? Does that mean we'll be doing Urban Battles like those of us who didn't get in through recommendations? Or something else?" He asked.
"Close. This simulation will take place indoors." All Might replied. "There are plenty of situations that take place out of sight, where the truly intelligent villains reside. Home invasion, backroom dealings, and more, which brings me to today's simulation." He explained before pulling out a script, causing Bayek to raise an eyebrow under his mask. "The situation is this: The villains have kidnapped a civilian and have them somewhere in the building. The villains team's job is to defend the hostage, and the hero team's job is to rescue the hostage. In addition to that, if either side can incapacitate the other, then they win." He told them.
"How are teams getting decided?" Tetsutetsu asked.
"We'll be drawing lots to decide." The man explained, holding up a box. "As one of my students from Class 1-A pointed out, pros sometimes have to team up with other heroes on the spot. This is an effort to simulate that." He continued.
"Sounds like something Izuku would point out…" Bayek hummed, stroking the chin of his mask.
"Who?" Kendo asked in confusion.
"Childhood friend. I'll elaborate later." The pharaoh themed boy told her in reply, getting a shrug in return.
"Now, everyone write your names down on these slips of paper and let's draw lots!" The No. 1 hero of Japan instructed.
(Later)
After teams were decided, Bayek found himself on a team with Setsuna, which he wasn't complaining about since he knew her the most, anyway.
"So." Setsuna mused as she leaned on Bayek's shoulder. "That date opportunity's still open if you're interested." She told him, causing the boy to blush under his mask as he nervously scratched his cheek.
Or the mask's cheek, rather.
"I'll… Get back to you on that after this is over." He replied with a fake cough.
"You'll never know what you're missing if you say no.~" The girl grinned.
'Oh god…' The boy thought as he looked away, blushing even harder.
"Alright, I declare that the first team to fight will be… these guys!" All Might called. "Team B will be the heroes, Team E will be the villains." The man said, meaning Bayek and Setsuna were facing off against Kendo and Tetsutetsu.
"Hmph! This'll be easy!" The muscular teen scoffed.
'I'm gonna ruin this fool's whole career…' Bayek thought, knowing exactly how to deal with him since he's seen people like Tetsutetsu back in Egypt.
"Alright. Villains go in and get ready, Heroes go over the building plan before we get started, and the rest follow me to the observation room." The Symbol of Peace told his students.
With that, everyone split up with Itsuka and Tetsutetsu heading inside while Bayek and Setsuna stayed where they were to go over the building plan.
(Later)
Fifteen minutes had passed, and now the Egyptian-Japanese boy and his reptilian partner were busy familiarizing themselves with the building's floor plan.
"Based on how well we know them at this point, where do you think they'd hide the hostage?" He asked.
"I'd saye either the middle or top floors, depending on how things are with them." Setsuna replied, also going into business mode. "I can use one of my eyes and ears to scout ahead, so we know what we're getting into." She added.
"You're pretty good at setting up plans." Bayek noted.
"Part of the reasons I was admitted through recommendations. I can come up with plans pretty quickly once I get a feel for the situation." The girl told him, sighing. "Though Improvisation is not one of my strong suits." She added, deflating.
"I can handle that." Bayek told her, popping his neck as All Might gave the signal for the match to begin. "Come on, let's get moving." He beckoned as he started walking into the building, his partner following suit.

On the top floor, Itsuka and Tetsutetsu were busy debating what to do about their opponents. Their hostage– which was a wooden dummy– was sitting in a chair in a corner away from the exit.
"So how exactly are we gonna beat these two?" Itsuka questioned as she sat on a barrel while Tetsutetsu munched on a piece of iron about the size of a stick of gum.
Yes, you heard right, a stick of iron.
"I was thinking we could hold them back until time runs out, maybe even subdue them." The iron eater replied. "Both of us have some decent offensive quirks, so it shouldn't be too hard." He added.
"I saw what Tokage can do, but Yugi is a complete powerhouse. We don't know what else he can do" The gingerette told him.
"Well we're gonna find out." Tetsutetsu shrugged as he finished his iron stick. "I say you let me go down there and kick their asses head on!" He added, slamming his fists together as he became hard as steel–literally.
"That's stupid, Tetsutesu, they could use that as a way of dividing and conquering!" Itsuka told him… Only to see that the boy had already left. "Aaaand he's gone, great." She sighed.
(Elsewhere)
Bayek and Setsuna had just reached the middle floor of the building, the latter of the two using one of each of her eyes and ears to scout any areas they were heading to. So far, nothing on their way up.
"I don't like how quiet it is." Bayek commented, his eyes narrowing under his mask. "In Egypt, this level of quiet usually means you're in for a nasty CQC ambush, according to my dad." He added.
"I think your old man might actually be right." The lizard themed girl muttered in agreement as they continued before she picked up footsteps. "Hold up, I got footsteps. One of them is running our way!" She reported before her eye caught who it was. "It's Tetsutetsu!" She exclaimed, recalling her eye and ear.
"INNNCOMING!" The steel teen yelled as he broke through the wall at Bayek's right side, causing him to raise his arms to block a metallic punch.
"Fuck, that hurts!" The Egyptian boy growled as he was shoved back. He was more than sure his arms were gonna be bruised for taking a hit like that.
"Bayek!" Setsuna gasped as she ran to her partner. "Are you okay?" She questioned, worriedly looking him over.
"My forearms are throbbing. That's a consequence of tanking a metal-coated fist, I guess." The Anubis themed boy groaned slightly in reply.
"Oh you poor baby…" The girl cooed, helping him up.
"You guys gonna just keep standing there, or are we gonna do this thing?" Tetsutetsu questioned, arms crossed as he tapped his foot impatiently.
"Setsuna, you go ahead and find the hostage! I'll deal with Tetsutetsu!" Bayek exclaimed, shunting the pain in his arms aside as he got ready to fight.
"You sure?" The girl asked, hesitant.
"Let's stick to your plan for now, I'll let you know if things need changing." The boy told her as he drew his Khopesh swords.
"No hard feelings if your swords break!" The iron boy smirked as he adopted a boxing stance.
"It's time to see what you know." Bayek said, twirling his blades. "Are you ready?" He added while Setsuna made her escape.
"Bring it on!" Tetsutetsu exclaimed as he charged at Bayek, who charged back at him with his blades in reverse grip.
"Defend yourself!" The boy prompted as he leapt into a spinning strike that Tetsutetsu dodged, which he followed up with two sweeping slashes, sending the steel boy stumbling back. "Scales of Judgment!" He intoned as he clapped his hands, causing a large pair of scales to appear between them as the two locked hands.
"What the–?! What is this?!" The metal covered boy questioned, looking at the scale as the two pushed against each other.
"It's a setting for a scenario in which we start out even and we have to tip the scales in either of our favor to win the clash!" Bayek exclaimed in reply. "So come at me!" He challenged.
The two boys kept pushing against each other, making the scales go up and down erratically—before it stalled in Bayek's favor for just a second—allowing him to use his momentum to hurl Tetsutetsu clear across the room.

In the observation room…
"Now that was fun to watch." Alexios remarked with a nod.
"Who knew that Yugi was able to do stuff like that?" Subarama exclaimed in surprise.
"I guess that's impressive." Monama shrugged.
"It's a mistake to underestimate your opponent in a fight. It could be costly if you do that." All Might stated.
(Elsewhere)
Meanwhile on the top floor, Kendo was still sitting on the barrel from before, when she felt someone watching her.
"Hi." A voice purred from behind her, causing the girl to jump, turning to see Setsuna's mouth floating behind her. "And bye." She grinned as the rest of her body started reforming around Kendo until she now had the gingerette in a leg locked wrestling hold.
"Gack!" She gagged, trying to breathe as she tried to pry Setsuna's legs from around her neck, expanding her fists to try and swat at her.
However, the lizard girl used the chance to wrap some capture tape around her arm, marking her as captured.
"Young Kendo has been captured!" All Might announced over some loudspeakers.
"Sorry, Kendo." Setsuna sighed as the ginger fell to the ground, with the lizard girl sitting on top of her. "But we had you guys pegged from the get-go." She stated.
"How…?" Kendo questioned.
"Tetsutetsu coming after us was definitely out of nowhere, but it wasn't surprising due to how gung-ho and stupid he can be." The girl replied. "So we planned on that, Bayek would take him on if he came after us while I handled finding and subduing you." She added. "Simple plan, really." She shrugged.
"Damn… You two make a good team." The gingerette admitted.
"I know." The lizard girl chuckled.
(Elsewhere)
Tetsutetsu groaned as he slowly got up after being thrown, where he immediately charged at Bayek again and tried to punch him several times—only for the boy to dodge, parry and then counter with his swords, staggering him again.
"Pay attention, Tetsutetsu!" The Egyptian boy called as he did a sweeping slash at blinding speed that his opponent was barely able to block, and was starting to show scratches. "Hmmm… Alright." He nodded.
"What?" The steel boy questioned, arms up.
"Darkness Come! Myrkr!" Bayek intoned as he clapped his hands again, causing the same pitch black sandstorm from the practical exam to conjure.
"WHAT THE–?! I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING!" The metal teen yelled as he tried to peer through the dark sand to no avail—and what was worse, the sand was like nails hitting his metal skin.
"Arms up!" The Anubis avatar called as he came out of nowhere with another spinning strike combo, sending his opponent tumbling to the ground, and the sandstorm to stop.
Tetsutetsu tried to get up, but his body finally gave out and his skin returned to normal, leaving him vulnerable.
"And now…" Bayek hummed as his eyes glowed gold and a pair of eye beams fired on Tetsutetsu.
"GACK!" The boy grunted as his entire body was wrapped up in gauze, effectively mummifying him for the time being.
"Now, lead me to the hostage." Bayek ordered, prompting the mummified teen to get up and lead him to where Itsuka and Setsuna were.

-Observation Room-
"Is that… the power of Anubis, the God of Death?!" Suburama, a kid with goat eyes, questioned with a gulp.
"No, idiot. Osiris is the God of Death. Anubis is associated with embalming and the process of mummification." Kuroiro corrected.
"All of Yugi's powers are Anubis based, shroom." Komuri nodded.
"And it's totally spooky…" Yanagi nodded.
'Hm, he's using young Tetsutetsu to get to the hostage quickly. A smart strategy, if he needs to find something specific quickly.' All Might thought, seeing a tactical advantage.
(Elsewhere)
On the top floor of the building, Bayek walked in with a still mummified Tetsutetsu.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Itsuka yelled in shock.
Bayek then had the mummy lock up in capture mode, causing Tetsutetsu to become immobilized, meaning he was put.
"Anubis is the God of mummification and embalming. My entire quirk is centered around him, so I can do anything he can, including turning people into mummies." He told her.
"The fact that you can turn people into mummies whenever you want is seriously creepy!" The gingerette gulped.
"Oh relax. They're always still alive afterwards." Bayek waved off. "Speaking of which, All Might, the mummification wrappings are basically capture tape on steroids, so you might as well call the match." He added, addressing the man in question through his earpiece.
"Oh, THE HERO TEAM WINS!" All Might exclaimed, allowing Bayek to release Tetsutetsu, who felt as much of his body as he could to make sure he was still alive.
"That was freaky!" He shuddered.
"You'll be seeing worse when you become a hero, so you'll have to get used to it." The Egyptian told him as the four walked out of the building.
"He's not wrong." Setsuna commented as she helped Itsuka up.
(Later)
"Now. As you might have guessed, the MVP of this match is Young Tokage." All Might began as they started reviewing the match.
"Wait, I'm confused." Bondo said. "Wouldn't it make more sense for Yugi to be the MVP? No offense to Tokage, but he did most of the work." He added.
"Exactly my thinking, Bondo my man." Monoma nodded.
"Mmm, valid question. Can anyone hazard a guess as to why I didn't choose young Yugi?" The Symbol of Peace questioned.
"Is it because Yugi took a gamble that he might have lost?" Shihai, who had skin as dark as the void, questioned.
"Good guess, but not quite, young Kuroiro." The man replied. "Anyone else?" He asked.
"It's probably because of the fact that Tokage was the one who came up with their battle plan." Honenuke pointed out. "While most of the effort was on his side, Yugi was just following Tokage's plan and working around hiccups to make it fit. If they hadn't planned like they did, the match could have just as easily gone sideways." He added.
"Correct." The Symbol of Peace nodded. "If you go into battle without a game plan, you could very well find yourself in a hospital bed. Young Tokage's planning ensured that she and Young Yugi had something to act on." He continued.
The students mulled over this information for a bit until it was time to start the next match, which pitted Kinoko Komori, the girl with a pretty obvious mushroom motif, and Kuroiro as the villains against Shiozaki and Alexios as the heroes.
(Later)
Alexios and Shiozaki, the two made their way into the building for their match, and the vine haired girl was quick to spread her vines throughout the building, until it slowly covered the entire building in vines and moving them towards the top floor where Komori and Kuroiro were.
Komori, upon seeing the vines, used her mushrooms to counter them. She didn't stop there, however, and sent them all the way to Shiozaki.
"Forgive me, my friend, but I cannot do anything more because of this…" The girl groaned as mushrooms grew on her vines
"It's fine, I can take things from here." Alexios told her as he hefted up his spear and shield.
However, before he could make his way through the forest of vines and fungi, he suddenly heard chuckling all around them, before Kuroiro suddenly sprang from the dark shadows underneath all the foliage and grabbed Shiozaki by the dress–dragging her along.
"Treacherous fiend! Unhand meeeeee!" The girl yelled as she disappeared into the abyss of fungal grown vines.
"Damn!" Alexios growled as he retracted his spear into its dormant form—that of a ring—and made his shield fold away before he drew his second of three main weapons—his dual swords attached to chains.
Then he charged into the vines, cutting his way through them as he did.
(Elsewhere)
"How many weapons does he have?" Bayek wondered, his helmet off for the moment.
"Think I counted three." Subaraba replied. "The third is an ax, I think." He added.
"Is he a hero in training or a soldier? Most heroes don't need that many weapons." Itsuka wondered.
"He's from Greece, remember? The standards are different over there." Setsuna pointed out.
"Yeah, in terms of hero culture they actually decided to go back to the Polius era practice of citizens acting as heroes in areas where there's less population density." Kendo nodded.
"And from what I heard? Where Sparta used to be, the quirk training there is so intense that instead of becoming heroes, most students just join the military." Tetsutetsu nodded.
"That's correct. Young Alexios is one such person, and it shows." All Might nodded in confirmation.
(Elsewhere)
Back with the two heroes…
Alexios was quick to run as fast as he possibly could to the top floor and bust the door open to get to the opposing team.
His opponents looked at him before Kuroiro vanished back into the shadows and tried to attack him, only to be shield bashed in the face.
"SPARTAN—RAGE!" He boomed as he then threw down his weapons and slammed his fists together, his body being engulfed in flames as he slammed his fists on the ground, causing the vines and fungi to explode, and sending Komori flying, before he charged at Kuroiro.
The shadow boy tried to fight back with hit and run tactics, but against someone whose body was aflame, that was about as useful as punching a mountain to try and make in move. Each hit he did manage to land was rewarded with Alexios hitting him in return.
And with the fire burning up all of the vines and mushrooms, Komori's quirk was basically rendered moot, leaving the two wide open to attack as the dark teen went to his teammate.
"This is difficult!" Kuroiro hissed as he sustained some shallow wounds that were cauterized.
"Urgh, that's true, shroom." Komori squeaked—right as Shiozaki suddenly ensnared them in her vines.
"Now would be the appropriate time for capture tape." The vine haired girl remarked.
"Agreed." The Spartan themed teen nodded in agreement as he pulled out some capture tape.
"The hero team WINS!" All Might yelled.
(Later)
Once classes were done for the day, everyone started heading home, Bayek walking right next to Izuku.
"How'd your battle trial go?" The Egyptian boy asked his childhood friend.
"Ochako and I won against Kacchan and Iida, but I had to break my arm to do it." The boy explained, gesturing to his broken arm.
"Okay, that's going to become a problem if it keeps happening." Bayek noted with a frown. "Do you have any way to keep that from happening all the time?" He questioned.
"I'm still working on it." Izuku sighed. "Himiko won her match by taking down a boy in our class, Kaminari and assuming his appearance before taking down another girl, Jiro." He added.
"A shapeshifter?" Bayek asked with a raised eyebrow. "Hm. Interesting." He hummed.
"Yeah. It's a really weird and interesting quirk." Izuku nodded. "What about you?" He asked.
"I won too. My partner came up with a really good plan for us to win with." The Egyptian boy nodded.
"Aw~! Thanks Bayek!" A voice cooed, causing the boys to look and see that Setsuna was reassembling herself around the boy.
"Uh, who's this?" The viridian haired boy asked with a blink.
"Setsuna Tokage. It's nice to meet someone else with green hair." The lizard themed girl replied with a smile, glad she wasn't the only person with green hair around UA. "I'm gonna assume you're Izuku Midoriya, right? Bayek mentioned you before." She remarked.
"Really?" Izuku questioned as he saw the last parts of the girl's body rejoined. "Whoa! That's so cool!" He gasped in surprise.
"Better brace yourself, Setsuna, because Izuku is a quirk nerd." Bayek told the girl with a smirk on his face.
"Ehehehe, really?" The girl smiled nervously, sweatdropping a bit as Izuku started taking notes on her. "Hey, you okay with me going home with you?" She whispered, still piggybacking on him.
"Sure. We need to talk, anyway." The Avatar whispered back in reply.
"Cool." The girl nodded.
(Later)
"You want anything to drink, Setsuna?" Bayek asked as he brought her into his apartment.
"Just water right now. I don't feel like downing anything serious." Setsuna replied.
"Alright." Bayek nodded as he got her a glass of water and sat down with his own.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?" The girl asked.
"That date offer of yours." The boy replied as he took a sip of water from his cup. "I think I'll take you up on it." He added.
Setsuna couldn't help but smile as her face lit up with a rosy blush.
"Great." The girl grinned, feeling giddy already.
"It's been a few years since my breakup with my ex, too. I think it's time I got back in the dating scene." The Avatar told her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Setsuna smiled as she scooted herself into Bayek's lap, hugging him.
"Sounds good to me." She smiled.
"Glad to hear it." The Egyptian transfer student smiled as he hugged her back. "So, do you want to go on that date tomorrow? Or maybe the day after." He questioned.
"The day after. It'll give you time to plan, anyway." Setsuna replied, not breaking the hug. She felt comfy right now.
"Alright, you got any interests besides reptiles and gal culture? Could help me decide what to do." The son of the Medjay asked.
"Well, I'm pretty big on dinosaurs and anything reptilian in general. If we went to a zoo, that would be nice." The girl replied, taking a moment to think.
"Sounds good to me." Bayek nodded. "And what about a movie? Would you be opposed to going to see one?" He asked.
"Nope." Setsuna replied, shaking her head.
"Then I know what movie to get us tickets for." The jackal themed teen smiled. "Alright, next: would you like to go to a cafe before we go to the movies?" He asked.
"Sure. It'll save us money on food, anyway." The verdette nodded.
"Alright, alright." The Medjay nodded. "Okay. Lastly: do you wanna finish this date at my place or yours?" He asked.
"Hmmm…" The lizard girl hummed, tapping her chin in thought for a moment. "My place. My parents are gonna be outta town in Dubai on business tomorrow and over the weekend, so we'll have the place pretty much to ourselves, and be able to go on more dates before they get back if we want." She replied.
"That'll help us out, I think." Bayek nodded. "If things click, then I won't be opposed to us getting together." He added.
"Oh? Are things not clicking already?" Setsuna questioned with a small pout.
"They are. I just wanna see how much will click after a while." The Egyptian shrugged in reply.
"Oh." The girl uttered.
"Don't worry, you're fine." The boy smiled as he held her close.
Even if he wasn't sure just yet, he was definitely leaning towards really liking this girl, Setsuna Tokage, it was definitely true—he just wanted to be absolutely sure.
After all, as the old saying goes: Once Bitten, Twice Shy.
ThermalsniperN7: Well, the battle trial certainly went well. We even got an insight into this story's version of Greece.
Dragon Emperor0: Keep an eye on that, it'll be important for when we swap the focus of the next chapter onto Alexios as he and Himiko run into each other.
ThermalsniperN7: Right. Oh, and to give an additional address to one of the reviews we responded to at the start of the chapter: Bayek's powers are only components to his whole quirk. This extra bit of context should hopefully clear things up a bit more.
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah. Anyway, as you can see, things are definitely going pretty well for Bayek here. He's made several friends, his class seems to like him, he's doing well in class, and he may also be getting a girlfriend. Pretty good for a kid who just moved from Egypt.
ThermalsniperN7: Before anyone says we're rushing it, 1. They knew each other for at least ten months and two weeks, so they knew each other for a while. 2. Here's a question for you: Do you honestly want to put up with that 'will they, won't they' bullshit in this story? Seriously, that crap is annoying.
Dragon Emperor0: It's quite literally been pointed out by pretty much everyone who's watched a show, read a comic or book by this point. So we're going to do the exact opposite. Hope you like it.
ThermalsniperN7: We certainly do. Anyway, see you guys next time.
