"Where is Lobo now?" A man asked from the shadows of a darkly lit office several days later.

"We think he left the planet. But not before he did considerable damage to the organisation." A younger man replied.

"How bad?"

"A third of our meta incubator labs have been destroyed. Half of the remaining have sustained heavy damage."

"It will delay us, but we can recover." The man in the shadows said as someone else entered the office.

"Sir, the election has just been called and Finch lost in a landslide."

"So Halsted is mayor? A good thing we control both candidates. But Finch is no good to us now, see that he disappears." The man in the shadows said. "Meanwhile, make sure Halsted gets everything he needs."

"Yes Sir. What do you want us to do about Guardian?"

"Let him be. His mistakes make him look human. We will need that."

"What about Supergirl?"

"We'll continue with the plan. But her daughter is off limits, we can't afford for Lobo to get involved again. That said, make sure we have plenty of that poison, just in case."

"Have you decided what you want to do with Lex Luthor?"

"He'll be dead in a few months. He has served his purpose. He was a perfect distraction. Now let him rot in prison." The man said before pausing and adding. "But when he is down to his last few weeks, make sure he finds out he was our puppet."

"How's Diz?" The older Kara asked as she approached Steve on the morning of the wedding.

"Nervous." Steve smiled. "MJ is helping, I think. But the sooner he sees Kara the better. Speaking of, where is the bride?"

"Upstairs with Alex showing no sign of nerves." The older Kara said.

"And you sister?"

"Gone for a walk."

"How come you aren't with her?"

"She said she needed some time alone." Kara said. "But I'll go to her in a few minutes."

"Anything I can do to help?"

"Yes, Han may have eaten some of the food. So I think there are a few things to pick up from town. Eliza has the list."

"I'll get right on it. Wait, when you say Han, do you mean you?" Steve asked.

"Hey." Kara said playfully slapping his arm.

00

"Here." Kara said passing her sister a bottle of water. "You don't want heat stroke."

"Thanks." Alex said taking the bottle.

"How are you holding up?"

"I'm okay. I just needed to clear my head."

"No one expects you to be okay today." Kara said.

"Kara needs me to be okay today."

"Kara wants you to be happy for her. She doesn't expect you not to miss Kelly." Her sister pointed out.

"I know, but I want to get all the sad emotions out of my head before she gets married."

"And how is that going?" Kara asked.

"I miss her." Alex said as Kara hugged her.

"I know." Kara said.

Eventually Alex asked. "How are you doing?"

"Me? I'm not the mother of the bride." Kara reminded her.

"I didn't mean with the wedding. I meant in general."

"I'm okay." Kara said. "Not there yet, but almost."

"Uh-huh. So why is there a Kara shaped dent in the rock?"

"Oh that. It isn't actually Kara shaped. It is kinda Kara and Alex shaped."

"Why?"

"Last weekend Alex tried flying and she lacked a bit of control. I tried to stop her and we both ended up crashing into the rock." Kara explained.

"I have so many questions right now." Alex said.

"But no time to ask as Kara needs you to be ready when she walks down the aisle."

"I will be."

"Really? Because you don't have long to get ready."

"I have three hours."

"Try two." Kara corrected causing her sister to look at her watch.

"Crap. I'll go get ready."

00

"Everything okay?" Alex asked when she walked into the room her daughter and niece were in.

"All fine." The younger Kara said before asking. "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine."

Sensing she wasn't needed the younger Alex left the room, leaving the older Alex and younger Kara alone.

"You look beautiful." Alex smiled. "But something is missing." She said before holding out her hand that had a necklace.

"That's-." Kara said recognising it.

"I gave it to your mom on our first wedding anniversary. I want you to have it."

"Bu-"

"She would have wanted you to have it." Alex smiled.

"Thanks mom." Kara said hugging her.

00

"How are you doing?" Sam asked as she came and sat next to the older Alex that evening as most of the rest of the wedding party danced on the beach.

"I think I am feeling every emotion out there right now." Alex confessed.

"Well the good news is we have next weekend all planned."

"We?" Alex asked.

"Lena and me."

"That sounds more like a threat." Alex mumbled.

"You love the weekends we plan, you just don't know it." Sam smiled before looking at the older Kara who was dancing with Steve and asked. "Although, you think we'll persuade Kara to come?"

"Plenty of people can play the guilt card on her." Alex smiled as Lena approached carrying several glasses, one of which she gave to Sam.

"I was just telling Alex about next weekend." Sam said to Lena.

"Does that mean you are in the not so happy phase of today?"

"I'm happy." Alex said glancing at her daughter who was still dancing with Diz.

"As you constantly tell me, it's fine not to be." Lena pointed out as Kara and a slightly breathless Steve approached them.

"Why are you guys all hiding out over here?" Kara asked.

"We aren't hiding. We are just giving the young some space." Sam smiled.

"That's exactly why I am here." Steve wheezed as he sat down.

"So don't believe you. And how is mom showing more stamina than you?" Alex commented as Kara dropped down by her side and hugged her.

"I'm okay." Alex assured her as another familiar face approached.

"Hi James." Kara smiled.

"Kara." He grinned back before looking at Alex and greeting. "Hello."

"James." Alex said.

"I'm not drunk enough to talk to an ex, so I am going back the bar." Lena said leaving with Sam.

"I will go help them." Steve said sensing he wasn't needed.

"Today would have made Kelly really happy." James said as he sat opposite Alex.

"Yes it would." Alex agreed.

"Thank you for the invitation. I know I am not Kara's favourite uncle."

"She still invited you."

"MJ said that was your doing. So thank you." James said.

"Family is important, but you need to fix things with her." Alex said.

"And you." James added. "And I will. You know, with Kara getting married and Finch loosing, maybe this will be the start of things working out."

"Finch lost?" Kara asked.

"You really have adopted the hermit life." Alex commented.

"Finch really lost. Why?" Kara asked ignoring the comment.

"Apparently Supergirl is more popular than the media has made out. From the sound of it people were viewing it as a vote between Guardian and Supergirl and Supergirl won." James explained.

"Supergirl isn't even around." Kara pointed out.

"But she built up a lot of credit." James said as MJ approached and pulled Alex to her feet.

"You owe me a dance." MJ pointed out.

"You don't have to." Alex said.

"I want to." MJ said dragging his mother to the dance floor.

"They are great kids." James commented to Kara.

"Yes they are. Alex has done a fantastic job."

"She has. So have you. Apart from not liking me, Alex is pretty exceptional."

"She is, and she doesn't not like you." Kara smiled, glancing at her daughter who was dancing with Matt.

"So how are you doing?" James asked.

"I'm okay."

"And Supergirl? Is she really gone?"

"No, just keeping away from elections." Kara said.

"Good. The world needs Supergirl." James smiled.

00

"You sure about this?" The older Alex asked her sister a few days later.

"I am."

"Then why do you look nervous?"

"Because I have no idea what I am going to say."

"You were up all night writing it." Her sister reminded her.

"And this is what I came up with." Kara said handing a piece of paper.

"It's blank." Alex said looking at it.

"I know. Hence the problem."

"Just speak from the heart." Alex smiled as Cat entered.

"What's wrong?" Cat asked Kara, seeing her discomfort.

"Stage fright." Alex said before looking at kara. "I have to go to work. But you'll be fine." With that she left and Cat said

"Let's see it."

"It doesn't exist, I have no idea what to say."

"Just speak the truth." Cat said. Pausing before adding. "Confidently. Speak the truth confidently."

"Right." Kara said taking a deep breath and standing up straight.

"Let's go get them Supergirl." Cat said leading her out of her office to the large meeting room where journalists and cameras were set up.

As Supergirl walked to the table at the front, the assembled journalists shouted questions until Cat held up her hand and said.

"Supergirl will speak first, after that there will be time for questions." As she spoke Supergirl took a seat in front of the cameras. She then waited for the technician to count her down. Once the red light showed on the camera Supergirl took another deep breath.

"People of National City. I apologise for my absence." Supergirl started. "For the last few months, people who don't want me around have targeted people I care about and I wasn't strong enough to protect them. I failed them and I started to question who I was, what I was. I started to lose sight of the light had always guided me. And for a while I let them win. By them I mean the bullies, because in the end they are no different from the bullies that plagued us in school. They just have more money to support their bad intentions." She paused and took another breath. "But that isn't happening anymore. I am back. Those who want help I am there. Those who don't, that is fine. But I won't let pride or prejudice get in the way of life. If I can save a life I will. I may have lost my way, but I have found the path again." She then looked directly at the camera and said. "Those who will hurt innocent people to advance their agenda, you will be stopped." She paused and was about to speak again when she heard sirens. "I'm sorry, someone needs help." With that she flew off leaving a room full of unsatisfied journalists.
