Tam's mind went spinning, he could hear but couldn't move or see at all. He felt like he was floating in thick cold pudding. Gisela looked at him carefully, his eyes now a solid black slowly leaking some sort of black goop. "They've never had this reaction before." "Well we've never done a Shade before," Ruy said inspecting his face. Gisela tried to grab some of the goop but it burned her with a fury she'd never felt before. She hissed out a sound like a dying gorgodon. "Are you ok, my love?" Ruy said, rushing up and grabbing her shoulders. "Fine, sweety," she said with disgust.
"I wonder if he can hear us?" Gisela said, "the others couldn't but he's…. different." Tam's mind was finally starting to take back control of his body when Gisela injected him with more of the substance in his other cheek. His mouth started filling with the black substance, then it started pouring out, faster and faster, flooding the floor. Gisela inspected it closer "It's blood!"
