"Help! Help!" NiGHTS called for help.
A pink echidna cyborg nearby is confused. She has been distraught and horrified at the place she's stuck in.
"Hello, visitor!" NiGHTS greeted the echidna. "Who are you? Why are you so stressed. What can I help you, as a favor allowing you to free me?"
"Please... no... this is even worse than... Mobius changes!" The echidna screamed. "Saffron! Where are you!?"
"Saffron? Your friend?" NiGHTS heard it.
"My name... Julie-Su. The Cyborg Echidna. From old world that shifted into a new world I didn't think I could've existed. I freaked out, after seeing how much my beloved home has changed. My Sonic, Knuckles, nobody but the likes of Saffron and some remember me." The echidna vented. "It's thanks to Saffron that I got wise and feel better. I finally got used to the new world. And yet... a hedgehog monster stole it from me. Stole it from us!"
"I'm sorry to hear that. I understand what you've been through, especially after I've read some comics and certain fics thanks to the unified army I'm part of." NiGHTS replied. "So... I'm working with a version of your related guy. Knuckles the Echidna. Of course, Sonic is one of the leaders. Right now, we're stuck in what's supposed to be my domain: the dream world."
"I'm... literally stuck in the literal dream then..." Julie-Su slumps down. "Who are you!?"
"You can call me NiGHTS. I am fun, and mean no harm to anyone good." NiGHTS introduced himself. "I flies through dreams. You can dualize with me and... get me out of this corrupted Ideya Palace? It's my current prison, and the monster clearly did this. It seems he and his friends may have done something to... Wizeman..."
"Who is Wizeman?" Julie-Su is confused.
"My creator. I'm a first-level Nightmaren. Brother of Reala, the one rivalry." NiGHTS responded. "The strongest among his creations, and yet I rebelled. I defends the Night Dimension, the dream world... and I enjoy every single moments."
"So... you're a HARLEQUIN OF DREAMS!?" Julie-Su is shocked.
"I'm not the only harlequin in the unified army. But we have to survive. and save all multiverses." NiGHTS reached to Julie-Su. "Please. Dualize. With me. Join us and save all reality. Honest."
Julie-Su hesitated, knowing that she's talking to a complete stranger from a completely different world. Meanwhile...
"Dragons in your dream. I just needed a little boost." Nightmare Rose revealed her now-corrupted face, showing off the awakening of her Dragon Quarter, in tandem with her inner Nightmaren.
"Sonic!" Sally screamed. "DODGE!"
Cue a D-Dash... version of Spin Dash. The resulting D-Spin blitzed towards the Blue Blur. Cue the vibration.
-*glitched sonic boom*
"Sonic!" Nicole got phased. "Oh my god..."
"Ugh... So fast, I have to use the Speed Force." Sonic got up.
"Did she just... D-Dashed?" Sage gasped.
Nightmare Rose threw her axe to Sonic, who got tripped by its handle, only to land back.
"False Amy... you're so fast." Sonic commented.
Nightmare Rose blitzed to Sonic, and clashed with him. "What'd it like to combine D-tricks with dreams and cyber corruption? Miracles."
The two blowed the blows with each other, a high speed brawl overwhelming the other three girls. The barrage of counters spooked the three and nearly forced them to get into hiding. However, Sally just sighed, and looked around, scanning the whole brawl.
"Sally, what are you doing?" Sage asked.
"Sonic... I will help you. Just let me." Sally calculated the Nightmare Rose clash. "Oh, Nicole, help me with this."
Nicole sighed, and held hand with the robian (in mobian avatar form).
"You're not my Amy, and so I reject you!" Sonic, still mad, butted with Nightmare Rose. "Guys! Do something!"
Then soon enough, Sally and Nicole slashed together right on angle and spot, tripping the false Amy, leaving her vulnerable. Sonic took advantage of this, and beat her with vibrated Spin Dashes.
"Infinite Spin Dash! Yeah!" Sonic repeatedly spins on the false Amy.
The evil has enough, and flew out of the way. "GET OUT, GENESIS FREAK!"
The false Amy detransformed, picked up her axe, and fled.
"You deserve live even less than the so-called... 'Genesis Birth'. I mean it, 'cause at least they're still worth a chance." Sonic recalled the Archie comics, which he read some as supplementary yesterday. "You, Nightmare Rose, is just a defect using Wizeman's powers and D-Constructs as your life support."
"Well... guess." Nicole is exasperated.
"We're gonna rescue the others, and wake up from this living nightmare." Sonic rushed out. "Everyone, follow me!"
The three girls followed the Blue Blur, leaving the recreation of the Green Hills. There, he saw NiGHTS flying with Julie-Su.
"It's me, another Sonic! We are here to help you! We've got some of your fellows!" Sonic called Julie-Su.
"Sonic!?" Julie-Su landed down. "What!? There's a girl-"
"Sage. Her name is Sage. I also got two of your world's heroes: princess Sally Acorn, and Nicole the holo-lynx." Sonic cut to the chase. "And as it turns out, two timelines may have collided into a new one because of a second Super Genesis Wave. We're investigating the matter as well as killing the mysterious hedgehog! Julie-Su, touch the PDA!"
Nicole hands Julie-Su the PDA, and not only it solidified her memories of the old world (she already remember it just vividly enough to drive her after dimension-hopping), but also... revealed something. An armored female echidna by the name of Shade.
"Shade?" Julie-Su is confused.
"Sorry, we don't have much time to explain. You got stuck here because of the Hyper Genesis Wave, a far worse version of the Super Genesis Wave which itself is the supercharged Genesis Wave. The mysterious hedgehog was able to pull it off thanks to preparations that required the overclocked Phantom Ruby, the Paradox Prism and the Chaos Council's intellect." Sonic explained. "Said mysterious hedgehog came because the Ruby affected the Prism. He escaped, impersonated me, and went on to lead a chain of events that led to the shattering of the entire multiverse, crushing the worlds, zones, and all timelines as well as plucking stuffs from many other multiverses, all into one unified world: Shattered Mobius!"
"What!?" Julie-Su is horrified.
"Julie-Su, work with us. Join our unified army." Sage recognized the cyber-echidna, thanks to collecting stories from set of worlds involving Genesis Waves and then some. "If you ask, i know you because i saved your stories and timelines into my database as records. I'm updating it now for your existence."
"Good, Sage." Sonic gave a thumb-up. "Let's get going!"
"And while the so-bians run to save their unified army from cybernetic dreams plagued with corruption and nightmares, we have, for eons, naught but a wandering race of untiring Watchers!" A narrator checked the Cyber Dream. "Thus has it ever been! Thus shall it- wait... where exactly am I?"
"Hey, the Watcher!" The hedgehog called the narrator. "It's hilarious that you would constantly break your non-interference clause. Although in this case, i won't blame you."
"Who. Are. YOU!?" The Watcher noticed. "Why did you bring me here!?"
"You're here just because Hyper Genesis Wave. If you do work for me, i will show you more." The hedgehog offered. "If you don't..."
In a recreation of the Angel Island, Trip is being chased by the Zombots - of the Metal Virus. She called for rescue, and Classic Sonic arrived. But as the Zombots simply regained back their matter literally, the little hedgehog is forced to bring the sungazer out.
"Hey! Wait!" Another of the armored hero in blue called. "I finally found you!"
Classic Sonic ran to the direction the voice came from. The hero wagged and signed to the way to hide from the Zombots. The two went into a dark corner, where Zombots wouldn't see any.
"My name is Volnutt. Mega Man Volnutt!" The hero introduced himself. "We're on the run."
Classic Sonic shrugged, clearly confused about the thing.
"You're confused?" Volnutt phoned in. "Let me explain. Nightmare Rose has been working on the body of a dream guardian named 'Ariem'. The team Shatter has been working on it for two weeks already. And having accessed the codes corrupting the dreams, I know what they might do."
"Little guy!" Sonic and co. ran to the scene.
Classic Sonic and Trip could hear them. It was the unified army, having gathered back and escaped from doom in the Cyber Dream. She yelped, while he is shocked.
"inally! Everyone is back! But hey!" Sonic stopped.
"Volnutt?" The Robot Masters stopped.
"Yeah... I sneaked in and saw the dream guardian's mutilated body. It's disgusting and tragic." Volnutt reported. "She seemed like a good person. I think."
"You mean... Ariem!?" Sonic is horrified. "Nightmare Rose took advantage of the Dormancy Protocol... She felled her!"
"You... confirm it?" Volnutt is shocked.
"I remember saving the Reverie from Egghead, who wanted to use wish-granting power of hers to make his empire thrive, conquer the world, and so on." Sonic recalled. "The Dormancy Protocol was supposed to block everything of the Reverie, including her powers, for 1000 years, also preventing anyone and everyone from entering it at that duration. Tails modded it so it only take away the wish-granting, but not before she foiled Eggman."
"I think she has reasons to initiate the protocol. Never thought it would be exploited by the likes of Nightmare Rose." Volnutt sighed. "When I saw the body... I realized that Team Shatter is evil."
"'Shatter' again? You're saying that name repeatedly. Other has been calling the mysterious hedgehog that name too." Sonic shrugged. "Anyways... are you Volnutt from a world with a Mega Man?"
"Yes but I am THE MegaMan! I'm here to find Bonnie, Roll and friends!" Volnutt begged. "Please! Help me find them!"
"Welcome to our unified army!" Mega Man declared. "We will save the multiverses together!"
In the meantime...
"Sonic! Sonic!" Nightmare Rose arrived for the mysterious hedgehog. "They want revenge for the Reverie, among saving the multiverses! He also... kept up with me." *sobs*
"Shatter did what!?" Volnutt is shocked.
"Yeah, just one of his sadistic tricks." Sonic shrugged. "He is even more evil than 'Scourge'. Far more evil."
"Scourge!? My new friend!?" Volnutt is surprised.
"Wait, you befriended an evil me?" Sonic gets surprised by counter.
"He too wishes to kill that monstrous asshole!" Volnutt bluntly called. "He trust me, and is willing to work to end the Team Shatter."
"I suppose 'Shatter' may be an alias, but alright." Luke clapped. "Let's get going."
"Where is Scourge?" Sonic asked. "We need to meet him. We need all the help we can get."
Volnutt ran and the army followed, but not before the Zombots saw them. Elise was the one commanding them.
"Escaping the dream space?" Elise saw the scene. "Bots, we're done here. Report to our lord."
The possessed flew away, while the Zombots fled. Sonic noticed all that, and got suspicious.
"They are watching us?" Sonic hinted.
The unified army are led to a digital gate - formerly a Dream Portal - allowing them to fully return to their physical bodies.
"Wait, before you go..." Volnutt blocked. "Take these! The Dreamweaver's Mod!"
Cue a rainbow and iridescent aura enveloping the army members.
"I gave you dream serum, made of nanites and the guardian's power which Team Shatter extracted." Volnutt explained. "It's a dream GPS and also contact between members that we have."
"Psychic nanites?" Merlina checks the serum.
"Drink it so i can contact you any time!" Volnutt suggested. "Only then, do you leave! Communication helps!"
The army drinks the serum, except Sage and Nicole who both are able to fully access.
"Thank you." Volnutt bowed. "I'm bringing Scourge to your place later on, and expect some teleportation on my part. Shortcuts are needed to evade the evil."
Nightmare Rose got back to waking world, flying out of dream and back into reality, and realized that the entire army has been rescued and then some. At the same time...
"Miss Amy?" Elise asked the Dragon Quarter. "I found the resistance. I was herding the bots, and then more of the resistance arrived until all gathered together."
"Sonic... He kept up with me... took advantage of some odd allies tripping my ass." Nightmare Rose mumbled. "I feel... Mobius fellows... have returned."
"Mobius? You mean the... lost world!?" Elise is infuriated.
"How could he take them from us..." Nightmare Rose groaned. "No... the army then got one more. That makes it three lost properties! How can't I prevent that, despite ruling the dreams at all!"
"Amy, they're contrived. It's not your fault." The mysterious hedgehog approached. "If anything, it's because the Circler and the Cubester that botched the Hyper-go-on ban. That allowed the pesky Wisps to save everyone. That and being more powerful than Chaos energy make them pose a threat to my perfect empire."
"O Lord!" Elise bowed down. "I spotted that child in MegaMan suit. He spilled the beans on the Reverie Haven!"
"The queen, WHAT!?" The hedgehog is shocked. "Who let him escape!?"
"The last time I checked, I commissioned the blue slave to watch the cell and keep an eye on Volnutt truly." Elise recalled.
"Ugh! That slave acted on his whim again!" The hedgehog is frustrated.
"At least I got all of the storage, except that child." Nightmare Rose revealed. "They must have escaped, but I was able to locate their place at the time."
"Finally! Get the mechs and go to the storage zone!" The hedgehog then disappeared.
"I can have the Zeti recreated." Elise flew away. "Meet me at the storage."
"Ugh... Have to clean all the messes thoise resistance left..." Nightmare Rose walked in disdain. "Time to deal with the mega-pothole!"
At the same time, the whole unified army woke up, successfully escaped the Cyber Dream.
