So I had gotten a review, and the guy said "Please don't use the actual story as the whole fanfiction." Or something along those lines, well I'm sorry to say but as I made clear in the first chapter of this story, this is literally just camp cretaceous with myself incorporated into the story so it's going to be basically me adapting the story. I said the only difference would be rather that just the six kids there will be a seventh(me) which would make some scenes different. This is more of an adaptation of camp cretaceous rather than a fanfiction. So yea, if you don't like this kinda story well you don't have to read it I'm only making this for fun, I'm just trying my hand at writing to pass time. Now on with the story.
"Seriously, dad you've got to see this." Said the voice of Darius from behind the door.
The door opens as Darius runs through it with a man that looked very similar to him minus the man was older and had shorter hair and the man had a goatee and mustache combo. The man wore khakis and a blue shirt. This is Darius' father Fredrick.
Fredrick chuckles. "Slow down kiddo, one day I might need this hand again." Fredrick says as Darius lets go to use the computer.
"Someone just posted Dr. Grant's latest article to the jurassic world forums, and apparently it says there's all this new evidence of craniofacial biting in theropods." Darius informs his dad.
"Well that would mean theropeds didn't just fight to kill, they fought for dominance, for power, an-." Fredrick is cutoff by Darius.
"And even for fun, it's the next paragraph down." Darius says as his dad grabs the chair and spins him away as Darius giggles.
"Let ya old man read, I sacrificed a hand for this." His dad remarks playfully.
"I mean can you imagine two T.rexes battling eachother, roar roar!, I can't even wait to see one T.rex at jurassic world." Darius says happily.
"Oh we'll be there soon kiddo, then we'll see all these big guys for real." Fredrick said putting the giddy Darius on his lap.
"Alright, I was gonna wait till later to give you this but, what time like the present for a present." Fredrick says.
"Ain't no pun like a dad pun." Darius says as Fredrick hands him the box.
He opens it to fine matching raptor teeth.
"Wow matching raptor teeth." Darius said in awe.
He takes them out to reveal that they are attached to strings making them necklaces.
Fredrick takes his and puts it on.
"This is so freaking, cool." Darius says as his dad puts the other one on him.
Darius notices his dad's hand shaking randomly for some reason.
Fredrick pulls his hand back and clears his throat.
"Are you okay?" Darius asked concerned.
"I-I'm fine just a little tired." Fredrick replies reassuring Darius.
Darius then goes back to fawning over the necklace.
Fredrick nudges him. "Hey, come here." Fredrick says embracing Darius. "We're going to jurassic world and it's going to be incredible, not just for the dinosaurs, but because it'll be the two of us there, together, I promise." Fredrick says raising his raptor tooth.
Darius does the same as both of the teeth connect sealing the promise.
Darius is sitting holding a picture of him and his dad. He held his raptor tooth necklace to the photo.
Suddenly a helicopter is heard as Darius looks behind him and out the window to see a helicopter.
"Despite the park owner, Mr. Masrani just now arriving, we have something we urgently need to discuss with you Miss Dearing." Roxie says on the phone.
"Don't forget to tell her about the raptor pen." Dave adds in not helping at all.
Roxie shushes him and tries to get him to be quiet.
"Or the kids getting lost in the storm." Dave once again adds in unnecessarily.
Roxie gives him a look, but he persists.
"Or the life threatening stampede in the storm." Dave adds once more.
Roxie having had enough. "Shut the fu- I mean please don't talk." Roxie says as Dave sits down quietly finally.
"The point is Clair, uhh, Miss Dearing, I know how important camp cretaceous is to Mr. Masrani, and that you were thinking of having your nephews join us today, but we have had two serious incidents over the course of two days, Dave and I need more staff immediately or we need to send the kids home asap." Roxie says urgently.
The answer she received was Claire hanging up the phone.
Dave and Roxie groan.
"New plan, we do this in person." Roxie says as she walks to the car.
"Umm, I'm sorry, are you saying we leave the kids here alone?, our kids, the kids who seem determined to get themselves trampled and or eaten, those are the kids of which you speak?!" Dave asks/yells.
Roxie looks down a little before looking back up. "We won't be gone long, if we leave now we'll be back in an hour or two tops." Roxie says as Dave groans.
"I'll leave a note." Dave says unenthusiastically.
"What up camp cretaceous, woohoo!" Darius exclaims as he bursts through the main doors.
"Not in a woo-hoo mood this morning, Darius, not after yesterday, trekking through a rain storm will do that." Kenji replies upset.
"Dang, who crapped in your cheerios bro." Geleel say causing everyone to laugh at Kenji's expense.
"Haha." Kenji retorts sarcastically.
"Besides we had to walk because, you, crashed our gyrospehere." Ben said upset as he sips his juice sourly.
Kenji growls at him and sneers making Ben scared.
"But, today's a new day kayak day, who doesn't wanna paddle alongside dinosaurs, real dinosaurs, it's gonna be awesome right, right?" Darius asked to get nothing but blank stares as a response.
"Wait where are Dave and Roxie." Darius says noticing they weren't there.
"Well they decided that it was a good idea to simply leave without us knowing, but how nice of Dave to leave us a note huh." Geleel says semi-sarcastically.
He hands it to Darius as Darius reads it out loud. "Brb, gotta go later, boss talk, smiley face, is that a dinosaur emoji with a thumbs up?" Darius says confused.
"It's Dave speak what do you expect." Kenji said.
"Roxie translates it for us on the back." Geleel said as Dariua flipped it and began reading again.
"We have to go talk to our boss, stay inside until we return, draw, bond, whatever, the radio is set for channel six incase you need us, stay inside, stay inside, do not leave, Kenji looking at you." Darius says with a chuckle as Kenji rolls his eyes.
Darius continues to read. "Uhh sorry for the kid's menu, it's all Dave had." Darius finshes up.
"Do they understand how old we are, I mean when was the last time you even saw a crayon." Kenji says ironically right as Ben showed his crayon drawing of himself and Bumpy playing chess to Yasmina, Sammy, and Geleel who were sitting on the couch across from him. The drawing wasn't the best...
"Hmm I have notes." Yasmina says deadpanned.
"I think it'd be best if I kept my notes to myself." Geleel says smiling inwardly.
"Yasmina, Geleel." Sammy says bumping them both playfully.
Suddenly the door flies open to reveal an irate pink haired teen(surprisingly not Sakura Haruno) also known as Brooklynn.
"Brooklynn, what's new on the internet superstar?" Yasmina asked dryly.
"I wouldn't know, because when I went to get my phone from my charger, it wasn't theren someone stole my phone!" Brooklynn said fuming.
Brooklynn who hasn't had your phone.
Everyone started giving random reasons they needed her phone.
Eventually Brooklynn grew tired and just sighs.
"I...haven't seen it either." Sammy said suspiciously. Geleel notices her pause but doesn't say anything.
"Really now." Brooklynn said accusingly.
"Hey hey, since we're not kayaking till later we'll have plenty of time to look for the phone." Darius suggests to calm the situation down.
Brooklynn scoffs. "I think I know where to look, I also think that whoever took the phone might be trying to hide something on it, what do you think, Sammy?" Brooklynn asked accusingly.
"Uhh what?" Sammy said lamely.
"What is your deal?, Sammy said she didn't take it, ever think you mighta just lost the stupid thing." Yasmina says getting in Brooklynn's face.
"Hm, well then let's check her bags and test that theory." Brooklynn says making her way to Sammy's bag.
"You do not get to go through anyone's stuff, I don't care how famous you are." Just when the situation looks like it's about to get violent Geleel and Darius seperate the two with Darius pushing Brooklynn gently to the left of the room and Geleel doing the same only to the other side.
The fight is broken up much to Kenji's dismay. "Oh come on you shoulda let em duke it out who ruins a good cat fight." Kenji says annoyed.
Geleel deadpans at him. Brooklynn and Yasmina are still glaring daggers at eachother.
"Guys come on, we can't be upset over phones, let's make the most of this opportunity, it's jura-." Darius' attempt to cool the tension is cutoff as a loud roar is heard in the distance.
"What was that." Brooklynn asked scared.
"Umm a T.rex?" Kenji guessed.
"Mmm no I don't think so." Darius says as Yasmina runs to check it out followed by the others.
"Then what kind of dinosaur is it, friendish or foeish." Ben asked scared.
"I don't know for sure Ben, but it didn't sound too friendly to me." Geleel replies as they look in to the forest to see what could have made that sound.
"Where's it coming from?" Sammy asked.
"Can't see anything from here, the trees are blocking everything." Yasmina responds.
"Maybe they're moving a new dino from the lab to a new enclosure, we could probably see it from the observation tower, could be cool." Darius suggested.
Sammy gasps. "Hey that's a great idea Darius, what are we waiting for." Sammy says dragging Darius as the other's follow except Ben and Kenji.
"Hey, we're not talking about this yet." Brooklynn says running after them.
"But guys, it's indoor arts and crafts day, we should stay inside and wait for Dave and Roxie, right Kenji." Dave said turning to Kenji for hope.
"If you wanna stay and draw you and your dino girlfriend, go ahead, I'm gonna go see me a T.rex or a girl fight, either way I win, ka-ching." Kenji says fist pumping and heading to the elevator with the rest.
"Fine go on, I'll just stay where we're supposed to stay, wait for who we're supposed to wait for, and be where we're supposed to be." Ben said annoyed.
"Yea yea come join us when you grow a pair." Geleel says as everyone chuckles and Ben looks at him wide eyed.
As the rest leave Ben realizes how lonely it was in the cabin by himself. He also notices the T.rex skeleton which scares him. Putting his drawing into his fanny pack he gets up and runs after the others.
"Wait, guys I'm coming too!" Ben yells.
"Asset out of containment, I repeat, asset out of containment, stay indoors, ACU is responding." Said the walkie talkie on the counter before Ben can hear it.
Kenji, Geleel, and Darius are grunting and struggling to try and get the gate open so they can get up to the observation area. Ben, Yasmina, Brooklynn, and Sammy watch on.
"It's locked." Kenji said.
"Oh wow, who woulda thought it was locked, not like it wasn't opening or anything, which is what locked means." Geleel said sarcastically. Kenji just looks at him deadpanned.
"Oh wow, guess we can't get in, guess we should head back before someone comes along and we get in trouble, hehe." Ben says walking back.
"Wait, where is everyone, there's usually someone here." Kenji points out.
"Wow, I can't believe I'm saying this but Kenji's actually right." Geleel agrees with Kenji's notion.
"If we're doing this, then we might as well do this." Says Brooklyn as she uses her hairpin to pick the lock opening the gate.
"Tadaa." She said as everyone looked at her confused.
"Are you sure you're not really a criminal and not a internet sensation?" Geleel said in awe.
Brooklynn gives no answer as she simply walks up the ladder to the roof.
The rest eventually follow.
As the group gets to the top, they all pant out of breath except Yasmina and Geleel being as they were athletes and it took more than that for them to get tired.
"Phew, it is hot, is anyone else hot." Said Sammy fanning herself.
"No...more...stairs, it better be...something good." Kenji says collasping on the stairs.
Loud footsteps are heard alerting the group.
All of them watch the trees intenly to see what was the culprit.
"There's something out there." Brooklynn said scared grabbing onto Darius' arm.
"Something big." Darius responds.
Another loud stomp is heard. Yasmina holds onto Geleel. Sammy does the same with Kenji. Ben looks around and simply opted for holding himself. If only Bumpy was here.
The loud stomps come even closer. The creature finally reveals itself to be nothing but a harmless herbivore, a Brachiosaurus.
The group sighs in relief. "Cool, mystery solved guess we should head back now." Said Ben.
"But that doesn't make sense, Brachiosaurus' don't roar like that, it's more like "rooooor"." Darius says trying to mimick a Brachiosaurus.
Geleel stares at him blankly. "There goes 5 seconds of my life I will never get back." Geleel says concerned for Darius' mental health.
"I didn't quite get the roar, uhh one more time?" Kenji asked with a smirk.
Darius ignores him.
Suddenly they hear yelling. Too park workers are trying to get their attention but they're too high up for them to understand fully.
"What did they say?" Darius asked.
"Oh great they seem upset." Geleel said not wanting to deal with being in trouble for the third time now.
"I told you we'd get in trouble." Ben says crossing his arms.
"You're gonna have to speak up." Kenji says to the park workers.
Suddenly the group hears the Brachiosaurus roar in pain as it drops down. This scares them as they flinch.
"Why aren't ya moving?, you dumb kids get down here righ-." park ranger one tried to say until he turned around and realized some dinosaur walking up behind them.
He screams and tries to run off but the creature catches him easily and eats him.
The unknown "dinosaur" let's out a loud roar.
"What.is.that." said Yasmina holding onto Geleel's arm once again.
"He got em, he got em!" Ben yells.
"Dr. Wu's lab, there was a dinosaur, and-." Brooklynn is cutoff as Sammy says the name of this monster.
"Indominus Rex." Sammy says quietly.
"How do you know that name?" Brooklynn asked her.
"I may not be a dino expert like Darius here, but I have never in my life heard of a dinosaur like this." Geleel says with a shocked expression.
"He's right there's no din-." Darius is cutoff by Sammy.
"There's no time, we need to leave, now, now, now, now,!" Sammy yells pulling Kenji and gesturing for the other's to follow.
Kenji gets out of her grip. "Up here is safe, down there isn't, besides it's not like whatever rex there can even see us this high up." Much to Kenji's dismay the I.rex turns around and looks directly at them.
The dinosaur then runs right through the fence and begins trying to climb the building. As the I.rex does this it tips the building causing Sammy to follow over but luckily Yasmina catches her arm.
Sammy yells. "Sammy!" Yasmina yells trying to hold on. Geleel, and Kenji come over to help.
The Indominus roars and hits the platform again making them almost lose their grip.
As the assault stops for a bit they get Sammy back up.
"The ziplin, go, go, go!" Darius says pointing to the zipline as they run to it.
Ben is strapped in first. He struggles with his seat belt until Kenji helps him. The I.rex continues to ram the building. Geleel having enough of the time wasting just grabs onto Ben's zipline and launches him forward.
The others except Geleel and Yasmina got on their ziplines and begin zipping across only for the ziplines to malfunction and the lights on them switch from green to red as they slow up to a halt.
"Why aren't we moving, Ben what did you do!" Kenji yells at Ben.
"Nothing it just stopped!" Ben yells back.
"It's the emergency break!" Darius yells to them.
"What's happening?" Yasmina asks Geleel as she's still on the platform and he's now strapping up his zipline.
"It's the emergency break we have to figure out a way to get it going again." He says urgently.
Yasmina gains a look. "Hey, you're pretty strong right?." Yasmina asks.
Instead of waiting for an answer she runs right at Geleel as lunging into him as he catches her their combined weight causing the ziplin to go even faster as they bump into everyone else causing the ziplines to go again.
"It's actually working!" Geleel exclaims happily. His happiness is shortlived as the Indominus finally did enough damage to make the building fall. This results in the zipline breaking apart as the campers fall to the ground through the trees screaming.
Flasback
We are in a hospital room"Hey dad, you won't believe, but there are all these rumors going around that jurassic world will announce a new dinosaur by the end of the year." Darius informs his dad who is in patient clothing as he is resting on a bed.
"Heh, really?" Darius dad replies kind of weakly as he evidently looks weak.
"What do you think it'll be, maybe they'll finally make an Anchiornis." Darius says hopefully.
"Maybe a Carnotaurus." Darius' dad guesses.
"Dad they've already got that, and whatever you do do not ask me if I'm "carnosureas". Darius says as his dad chuckles. His chuckling slowly turns into heavy breathing.
He touches Darius' face. "You really do, know it all." He says as Darius looks unsure.
"That's why this jurassic world trip is gonna be awesome, and we're going in May, that's when they'll be doing all the hatchery tours." Darius says happily.
"D-man, about the trip." Fredrick is cut off.
"Don't say it, you're gonna get better, you have to get better, I need you to get better." Darius says pleadingly.
Fredrick puts his left hand on Darius'. "I'm trying son, there's a lot of things we were supposed to do together, so many things." Fredrick says weakly.
"That we can still do." Darius says hopefully.
"Listen to me, this life, things don't always go your way, things fall apart, but what matters is that you keep going for the people who needs you the most, and despite all the hardships you never give up." As Fredrick says this Darius hugs him gently.
"Then you aren't either, we're doing this together, no more dad speeches okay?" Darius says giving him his necklace.
"Fair enough, I shoulda known not to argue with you." Fredrick says with a chuckle.
"We're gonna make it to jurassic world, and it's gonna be perfect, it has to be." Darius says.
Flashback end
Everyone is unconscious on the ground due to the fall.
Geleel begins to stir as he feels weight on him. He realizes Yasmina fell on him he looked a bit flustered before he woke her up.
"Yas, get up we have to check to see if everyone's okay." Geleel says as Yasmina begins to stir.
"Ugh are we even alive?, my head is ringing." She said groaning.
Geleel wakes up the rest of the group to see if they were okay, luckily everyone was generally fine. They were about to relax until they heard the Indominus let out another terrifying roar.
"What is that thing?" Kenji asked terrified.
"It's coming!" Ben exclaimed scared.
"Shhh, it could be anywhere." Said Yasmina helping Darius up.
"The observation tower was that way or maybe that way?, I...uh.." Brooklynn says walking away.
"Okay, I'm sorry but I-." Sammy looks like she was about to confess to the phone theft until she realized the phone was broken.
"Did you say something?" Brooklynn asked as Sammy shook her head.
Darius begins feeling around his torso looking for his necklace. "Oh no my necklace, I left it at my bunk." Darius says frantically.
"Uhh sorry to say Darius but we have bigger problems." Geleel says as they hear the Indominus roar loudly again.
"We have to run, now!" Sammy says as they begin running.
"Everything will be fine once we get back to camp." Darius states.
When they get to the camp it's nothing but debris and wood everywhere.
Darius jumps as he steps in a huge footprint.
"Dave, Roxie, the other workers, they made it out alive right?" Sammy asked hopefully.
Ben checks a flipped over vehicle. He gasps and backs up as he sees a corspe. "Not all of them." He says quietly.
Yasmina picks up the walkie talkie she noticed. "Hello, hello, can anybod-." She cuts herself as she gets no response. She begins hitting the device. Geleel puts a hand on her shoulder as she drops the device and stops.
Realization dawned on everyone.
"We're on our own now." Geleel says voicing everyone's thoughts.
Everyone looks defeated for a second until Brooklynn unleashes at Sammy.
"Give me my phone!" Brooklynn yells as Sammy looks at her fake confused.
"I don't care about you sneaking into Dr. Wu's lab, I don't care about what you did with the skin samples you took from the Sinoceratops!" Brooklynn yells at Sammy.
This causes the rest of the group to ask a barrage of questions.
"I don't even care that you stole it now, all I wanna do is call for help, where is it!" Brooklynn yelled almost fatigued now.
"Uhh, I-I-I don't know what you're talking about skin samples sneaking into labs, you made up some crazy things in your own dang head." Sammy said lying boldface.
"Hey, back off, not everything revolves around you and your stupid phone!" Yasmina yells getting into Brooklynn's face.
Ben looked between them scared.
"Guys can we keep it down, there's still a-." Kenji cuts Ben off.
"A big scary dinosaur?, ofcourse there's a big scary dinosaur, there's always a big scary dinosaur." Kenji says annoyed.
"And you're always a big mouth jerk!" Ben snaps back as Kenji gets in his face.
The whole group except Geleel and Darius break into a fight.
Geleel having seeing enough of the fighting anr Darius looking lost and broken without his necklace, he finally snapped.
Geleel grabs a plank of wood walks over to the jeep and hits the jeep as hard as he can. This gets everyone's attention.
"Look at you, you all fighting with eachother trying to tear eachother apart, when we should be devising a plan to survive out here before that thing comes to actually tear us apart." Geleel says as Kenji interrupts.
"Please, cut it out with the act tough guy, you know you're just as scared as any of us." Kenji says mad thinking Geleel was trying to belittle them.
Geleel sighs. "You're right Kenji, I am scared, I'm so terrified right now my heart is beating as fast as I talk, but I know being scared and fighting isn't going to get us anywhere but killed, so if you four would like to act accordingly so we can actually think of a way to make it out alive that would be very wise." Geleel says firmly.
He then looks at Darius. "Darius, what was it I said yesterday that was my life quote." Geleel asked Darius bringing him out of his state.
Darius looks at Geleel firmly. "You said that one person can do a lot by themselves, but together there's nothing we can't do." Darius says quoting Geleel as the other's come to senses kind of remembering his words.
"Well I got another for you, this life, things don't always go your way, things fall apart, but what matters is that you keep going for the people who need you the most, and despite all the hardships you never give up." Geleel says shocking Darius, as his father said the exact same thing almost word for word.
With Geleel's inspirational speech everyone calmed down and looked at him.
Geleel then looked at Darius. "Well, what do you suggest we do, Darius?" Geleel asked as now everyone's attention shifted to Darius.
"Well for starters, we're not giving up, I get it, it's scary, this isn't how we planned it, and like Geleel said things fall apart, but that's okay, because when that happens when that happens we pick up the pieces and keep going." Darius says as Geleel smiles at his leadership.
"What about your necklace." Brooklynn says gesturing to his chest.
"It's not important, I've got the memories right here." He said pointing to his chest.
"What are we supposed to do?" Asked Yasmina still not sure.
Geleel steps to Darius' side. "We head South to the park, get help, and the only way we'll make it is if we work together, we're a team or we're nothing at all." Geleel says.
"Or we can you know not go into the jungle." Ben says still scared.
"You can wait for our negligent babysitters, but I'm with Geleel and Darius." Kenji says putting them both in half hugs.
"Wait really?" Darius asked confused.
"Yea...you're usually against anything that is considered "minimal effort" to you." Geleel said as this wasn't Kenji behavior.
"Well it's like you guys said, if we work together we'll be able to do this right, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes." Kenji said surpising both Darius and Geleel as they didn't expect to hear such maturity from Kenji.
"We're going South then, who's with us?" Geleel asks. Yasmina takes his hand nodding showing she trusted him on this.
Brooklynn grabs Darius' hand. "I'm in." She says firmly.
Sammy doesn't say anything she just walks over to Kenji's side.
Everyone looks at Ben waiting for him, he contemplates but eventually relents and just goes with them.
"We're gonna survive, I just know it." Geleel says to nobody in particular.
