Sorry for the delay but finals are here and I'm getting a lot of tests and work to do so it's been rather difficult trying to get this chapter out. However like Darius's dad says "What time like the present for a present." On with the story.
As the monorail speeds down the tracks Darius and Ben are both grunting and fighting to hold onto eachother. Darius fighting to save Ben and Ben fighting to stay alive.
"Hang on!" Darius yells holding Ben's arm as Ben was screaming for dear life.
Darius was slowly starting to lose his grip on Ben. "Hold on Ben!" Darius yells as he loses his grip more and more.
Eventually he almost drops Ben fully buy luckily with quick reflexes he caught him again this time with two hands. Both pant heavily now that the feeling of safety and relaxation was upon them.
However you should never count your eggs before your chicks hatch because as they were panting in relief the Pteranodon circled back and flies right into Ben causing Darius to lose his hold again.
Thankfully Darius catches Ben's arm again. This time Geleel runs over to try and help Ben up too.
The other campers look on in fear over losing Ben. "Come on Ben hang in there!" Geleel yells encouragingly. As he says this the Pteranodons spins back again with a loud screech and hits into Ben causing both Darius and Geleel to lose their grip on Ben as he falls to the ground.
The campers that remained in the monorail all watched in horror as Ben fell to basically imminent death. The Pteranodons flew after him.
The other campers still looking on in shock were surprised that after all this one of them still had to die. Brooklynn who was whimpering and tearing up latches onto Darius hugging him.
Geleel who was still staring at the forest floor with wide eyes is suddenly broken our of his stupor as two hands reach around his neck and he turns to see Yasmina sobbing into his back.
Kenji who was standing holding his head looking like he was on the verge of insanity is soothed as Sammy hugs his head to her chest and rubs his head to calm him.
Bumpy walks over to the edge of the monorail bleeting in grief for the lost of her dearest friend.
"He's gone, he's really gone." Yasmina says in-between tears as Geleel rubs her back.
"I...don't believe it, there's no way...Ben." Kenji says almost bursting into tears in Sammy's arms but holds his composure because he didn't want to be seen crying.
"Shhh, just calm down Kenji." Sammy in-between slight sobs.
Darius looks into the hand that was holding onto Ben in sadness as Brooklynn still held onto him crying her eyes out.
He suddenly notices something off. "We're going back...the monorail is going back!" He yells as the Monorail jolts bringing everyone out of there stupor.
"What do you mean going back?" Brooklynn asked confused.
"When we switched tracks we ended up on one headed North!" Darius informs them.
Darius headed to the controls to try and fix this.
"We're not headed to the south docks we're going away from them!" He said pushing random buttons.
"Dang it nothing is working!" Darius yells slamming his fists into the controls.
"We have to get off this monorail now!" Darius yelled realization dawning on him.
Geleel runs to broken window to look outside. He notices a hill going downwards.
"The track zips down up ahead, we can jump there!" Geleel yells as Kenji looked unsure about this.
"Jump!?" Kenji yelled/asked.
"Are you insane!" Brooklynn adds in.
"It's too far we can't jump fro-" Yasmina tries to reason but Darius cuts in to come to Geleel's aid.
"It's the only way!" Darius says as everyone looked at the two like they were mad men.
The six stood in the opening that was caused by the Pteranodon crashing through the window readying themselves to jump.
They each take a deep breath.
Yasmina gives Geleel a kiss on the cheek for good luck as he returns it.
Brooklynn and Darius hold eachothers hands and nod at eachother.
Sammy did a prayer sign for herself and all the others.
Kenji simply inhaled and exhaled.
"One!" Darius starts off as they get closer to the area.
"Two!" Geleel adds as they were almost there.
"Three!" They both said at the same time as everyone leaped off the monorail and onto the forest floor. Not from as high as Ben obviously since they were going down a hill. They all were free falling for a little bit as they were all yelling in fear.
They all crashed through the trees and bushes which slowed their decent actually.
They still landed with pretty loud thuds and moans filled the air. They each fell into different things.
Sammy and Kenji both fell into a rock with Kenji bracing Sammy from full impact.
Geleel and Yasmina fell into a tree with her accidentally getting draped over him.
Darius and Brooklynn both fell on their stomachs next to eachother with Brooklynn's left arm draped over his back.
Bumpy let out a little bleet of pain.
"Okay next time I make a suggestion like that someone, literally anyone stop me." Geleel says as he gets up helping Yasmina up as well.
"Is everyone alright?" Darius asked sitting up inadvertently flipping Brooklynn off of him as the rest of the group made their way to him and Brooklynn.
Yasmina was limping but holding onto Geleel for support.
"Ish." Brooklynn replies holding her head. "Are you okay?" She asked as he nodded.
"Bumpy!, where's Bumpy!?, I lost her when we hit the ground, she's gotta be here, Bumpy!, Bumpy!" Kenji yells as Brooklynn shushes him.
"There are still dinosaurs out here including Toro and-" Brooklynn tries to say but Kenji ignores her and continues.
"Bumpy!, Bumpy!" Kenji continues yelling.
"We gotta look for her don't we?, and Ben he might still be-" Sammy tries to say as Yasmina cuts her off.
"How! we don't even know where they are!" She yells letting go of Geleel only to instantly regret it as she falls to her knees in pain.
Geleel goes to help her up again but is stopped when a loud speaker comes on.
"Attention all park goers must report to the south ferry docks, last ferry departs in sixty minutes!" The voice announced causing all of the campers to look concerned.
"No chance we can get there in an hour, it's way too far!" Yasmina yells as she was being supported by Geleel again.
"Not if we leave right now!" Brooklynn yells trying to reason.
"And Bumpy! And Ben!" Sammy yelled in concern for her friends.
"We can't go back for Ben! Ben's...gone." Brooklynn says as everyone looked down in grief.
"There's just not enough time to look for...we can make it to the ferry but only if we go now." Darius announces to everyone.
"Last ferry depart in sixty minutes" Said the voice again as they all looked determined once more.
"We have to go now and fast!" Geleel yells as everyone runs to make it to the docks.
"Repeat, Roxie and I saw you on the monorail we're headed to the docs to meet you!" Dave yells into the walkie talkie only to receive static.
"Darius! Geleel! do you copy! if you can hear me just get to the boat don't stop just keep going!" Dave says as he gets more static.
Roxie looks at him with concern. "They'll be okay Dave, they have to be." She said refocusing on the road.
All that is heard is footsteps as the campers were running with all their might to make it to the docks.
"Come on keep going!" Darius yells as they keep running with Yasmina limping behind the group.
She eventually falls to the ground and whimpers in pain.
Brooklynn and Geleel run over to her.
"Guys!" Yasmina yells to Kenji and Darius as they turn to see Yasmina on the ground in pain.
"Are you go-" Geleel is cutoff by Yasmina.
"I'm fine." She said with a wince.
"How are you even walking?" Brooklynn asked shocked and impressed.
"I'm highly motivated." Yasmina says standing. "I got this." As she says this she falls back down with a yelp of pain.
Geleellooks at Darius with a serious face. "She won't be able to keep going we have to think of a different plan." Geleel says as Darius thinks for a few.
"We can't stop, so we'll make a stretcher maybe, or maybe there's a shortcut, or... the tunnels, Kenji!" Darius yells turning to Kenji who was looking down sad.
Darius walks up to Kenji and shakea him out of his stupor. "Kenji, the maintenance tunnels, there has to be one that leads to the docks right?" Darius asked as Kenji looked at him neutrally.
"Kenji right?" Darius asked as Kenji looked up in thought.
They make it to run of the manhole covers as they move the lid and make their way down the ladder. Yasmina being the last to come down the ladder is helped safely to the ground by Geleel as she slightly winces.
Yasmina then uses Geleel as support.
Everyone looks to Kenji as they awaited him to lead them.
"This will get us to the docks in half the time!" Kenji yelled as he ran foward.
Everyone soon follows him. "Are we sure Mr. Vip knows what he's doing!?" Brooklynn yells/asked.
"Kenji took Geleel and I down here before!" Darius yells back
"Yea just trust him we'll be out of here in no..." Geleel cuts himself as they turned to a dead end. "...time." He finishes after a pause.
"Everything looks different with the lights all freaky like this okay! This way!" Kenji yells as he runs back the other way.
Everyone else stays and watches as he runs into another dead end.
They start following him again as they run into yet another dead end.
"What...this wasn't here before!" Kenji yells.
"Why are there so many security gates!" Yasmina yells irritability.
"It's the evacuation process the park is shutting down automatically!" Geleel yells as everyone looks scared.
"Oh, we have to go around! This way!" Kenji says as he leds them to a door.
The door handle was flashing red instead of green meaning it was locked.
Kenji slams his hand against it as he grunted and struggled to try and open it.
Everyone began frantically searching for things as they looked through the lockers.
Eventually Brooklynn opens a locker and a weapon of some sort falls out with a clang.
"Cool we can use this for-" Brooklynn is cutoff as Kenji snatches the object and rams into the metal door as he falls to the ground receiving a shock.
"Wow real smart, ramming a metal door with a stick that has high voltage at the tip of it, bravo Kenji bravo." Geleel says sarcastically as Kenji glared at him.
Brooklynn picks up the electric weapon and turns it off as she deadpans at Kenji. "A walking stick." She finishes her sentence from earlier as she hands the stick to Yasmina who let's go of Geleel and uses the stick to support herself.
Kenji looks at them disappointed in his stupidity. Darius pats his shoulder to comfort him. He brushes Darius off and walks off.
"Fine whatever!" Kenji says as they begin moving again.
As they run into yet another dead end Kenji slams his hands into the gate as everyone berates him with questions of outrage.
"Attention, all park goers must report to the south ferry docks for immediate evacuation, last ferry departs in thirty minutes." Said the voice of the announcer.
"Not helping!" Kenji yells up at the speaker.
"Just try to remember, breathe-" Darius tries to help but Kenji snaps at him.
"What do you think I'm doing!?, coming down here was your idea Darius!" Kenji yells getting Darius' face making Darius slowly back up.
"Kenji, he was just trying-" Yasmina tries to come to Darius' aid but Kenji cuts her off.
"Shut up! Everyone just shut-" Before anything else was said all that was heard was a loud whack sound as a fist connected with Kenji's jaw.
Everyone paused to look at the culprit, it was no other than Geleel. Kenji looked up at him in shock as he held his jaw.
Geleel sighs. "Look, I know you're going through it right now Kenji, trust me I know how it feels to lose a best friend." Geleel said solemnly as everyone looked at him in shock.
"But you can't just take your anger out on everyone else, it's not the way a man expresses his feelings, now I know I usually give you a hard time but I believe you can get us out of this, so for once Kenji, man up and get us out of here." Geleel says walking over to Kenji holding his hand out to help him up.
Kenji looks determined as he grabs Geleel's hand and gets up to his two feet.
"Uhh guys, the way we came from, where does that tunnel end?" Sammy asked cutting in.
"I think it opens up in to the park, why are yo-" Kenji is cutoff as the group hears a loud blood curdling screech. They turn to see the shadow of a dinosaur that didn't look too friendly.
The creature let out a few more menacing screeches as they all cowered in fear.
At the docks the first ferry off the island takes off as the second is still waiting for people.
Dave and Roxie were trying to reason with the guy that was directing traffic about the campers. The man wore a blue shirt, a white cap with a blue fend attached, and khakis.
"There were seven teenagers, you're sure you didn't see them?" Roxie asked the man.
"No I didn't notice seven kids in the middle of a thousand people." The man replies as he pauses to do his job.
"You're kind of in the middle of an emergency evacuation!" The man exclaimed.
Dave holds his own head. "Yea, picked up on that, where's Claire Dearing." Dave asked.
The man looked at him puzzled. "Who?"
"Perfect, Rox come on we gotta go back in the park and we'll look for em there." Dave says as they turned to go back into the park.
"No no absolutely not, you are being evacuated!" The man yells as he gets in front of them.
"Are you going to stop us?" Roxie asked.
"Yes ma'am I am, that's my job, now you can stay here to search, but the last ferry departs in twenty-five minutes and you need to be on it."
"And if we refuse?" Roxie asked.
The man reached for his electric stick. "So help me, I will use force to get you on that boat." He says holding them and shock point.
They both raise their hands and look at him with shocked expressions(no pun intended).
Back in the tunnels with the kids. They were still cowering in fear of this large creature as it screeches.
As they back up Yasmina drops her makeshift walking stick as Kenji picks it up to use it as a weapon.
The creature finally runs out at them but their "monster" was revealed to be a mere compy.
Everyone sighs in relief. "It's just a compy, thank God." Geleel says kissing his chain.
Kenji turns the weapon to shoo the Compy away.
"Seriously Kenji, it's like a foot tall!" Brooklynn yells.
"And uhh, it's not alone." Yasmina points out as they realized the Compy had it's whole pack there.
"We need to go, in a group Compies ca-" Darius is cutoff by Kenji.
"Not really the time for a lesson dino-nerd." Kenji says batting at the Compys.
"Why not, it's not like you've gotten us anywhere close to the docks Mr. VIP." Brooklynn exclaims.
"Oh yea I'm sorry, don't you have some "unboxing being a brat all the time" video to do?" Kenji said bitingly as Brooklynn scoffed.
Sammy gets in between them as she faces Kenji. "Hey, calm yourselves, you're scaring the itty bitty Compy family." Sammy says in a cuddly voice.
"Scaring th-, are you for real, after everything you're defending the dinosaurs?!" Kenji yells/asked.
"It's not her fault you got us lost!" Brooklynn yells at Kenji.
"It's definitely her fault for some of it.." Yasmina cuts in glaring at Sammy.
"Let it go Yas, it's just a phone!" Brooklynn yells as everyone looked surprised.
"What? You were willing to go to Hell and back for that phone now it's 'just a phone'?" Geleel asked confused at her logic.
"I don't even know what's going on anymore." Yasmina says to herself.
Darius weaves a Compy who jumped to nip at him. "Guys-" He is cutoff as a loud roar thunders through the tunnels.
This causes everyone to stop in their tracks even the Compies.
Everyone looks to the end of the hall to see Toro walking to them with a low growl.
The Compies simply ran through them.
"Toro.." Geleel says as they all shook in fear.
Toro roars at them as they ran causing him to give chase.
"Now we know which way to go!?" Brooklynn asked/yell.
"Would you rather we run or stop and ask Toro over there for the nearest exit!" Geleel yells/answers.
"Just run!" Darius exclaims as they round a tight corner causing Toro to trip as he tried to take a bite at them. He gets right back up and chasea after them.
They kept getting chased all the way through the tunnels until they found a temporary hiding place from Toro.
As Toro notices they've "disappeared" he roars and walks off to find them.
"We can't stay her-" Sammy tries to whisper only to have Kenji shush her.
Yasmina then begins crawling through the vent as Darius and Geleel follow her curious as to why.
They come up to the other vent and try to push it out with their hands. After realizing that wouldn't work Yasmina gives them her makeshift cane.
Both Darius and Geleel begin banging the vent with all their might to try and get it to fall off.
The other three were still in the start of the other vent. They decided to take a moment to relax.
It was feeling good until suddenly the vent explodes off the hinges as Toro's head is visible and he's trying to eat Brooklynn.
Brooklynn whimpered in fear. Geleel and Darius realizing they needed to hurry up decided to ram the vent harder and faster.
After a couple more hits they finally got it to fall off.
"Go, Go!" They both yelled as everyone else made it through safely.
They look back at Toro before they both make their way out the vents.
Toro let's out a roar of defeat.
Darius holding onto Yasmina's cane was panting as Yasmina took it back to walk easier.
Brooklynn notices both Darius and Geleel looking downtrodden.
She smiles and taps both of their shoulders and points towards something.
They both look to see a sign as Brooklynn runs to catch up to the others.
"Exit to south dock, one thousand feet." Darius exclaims happily as they both ran after the others with smiles on their faces.
They were all running into the docks all giddy until they realized it was completely deserted.
"No, no, no, no!" Kenji yelled as they all began moving things around not believing that they were actually left stranded.
"There's gotta be a door som-" Geleel is cutoff by Brooklynn.
"There's no way out, they must've sealed it off after the park was finished." Brooklynn guesses.
"Can't anyone associated with this place make just one good decision!" Yasmina yelled in frustration.
As she yells a loud roar is heard in the distance spooking them.
Darius hopps down to the lower level and tries to open that gate to no avail.
"Darius, what do we do now?" Kenji asked in fear.
Darius looked at him with no spirit.
"I don't know." Darius says solemnly as everyone stared at him shocked he was actually giving up.
Before anything is said another loud roar is heard and this time it was closer.
Darius holds his head shaking in trauma.
"But you always kn-" Sammy goes to say but Darius snaps cutting her off.
"I don't know!" Darius yells distraught.
As he puts his head in between his legs he begins tearing up. "I don't know what to do, I didn't know what to do with Ben, or Bumpy, or when the Indominus Rex attacked." Darius lists off as the roar is heard again and he gets up frantically trying to open the gate.
He finally gives up and looks at nothing but the ground. "All I did was get into trouble, make bad choices, and mess everything up, you never should have trusted me." He said with his head still down.
Geleel walks over to him and puts his hand under Darius' chin to raise his head up. "My father told me one thing you should never do is put your head down, no matter the situation whatever happens just keep your head up." Geleel says strongly as Darius looks at him almost crying.
Geleel continues. "And you're wrong about one thing Darius, because yes you got into trouble a lot and made horrible decisions, but the 'we shouldn't have trust you part' is where you went wrong." Geleel says as Darius looked at him puzzled.
"You were the one who led us out of camp when no other adult stayed behind to help, if you weren't here this team would have died a long time ago, but because you didn't give up it caused a domino effect and we didn't give up either." Geleel says as Darius starts to smile.
"You kept us going, no matter what some of us may have done." Sammy says aiding Geleel while also referring to herself.
"You made us feel like we were in this together, so, we are." Yasmina says also aiding Geleel.
"Things fall apart, and that's okay, cause when that happens-" Brooklynn cuts her sentence off.
"We pick up the pieces and we keep going." Darius says as Kenji helps him and Geleel up onto the top platform.
The roar is heard again and even closer this time.
"He's getting closer." Brooklynn says in a hushed tone.
"Let's see what we can find in these crates." Geleel says as they all begin looting the crates for weapons to fight back.
"Come on something pointy, come on something hurtful, come onn." Kenji says as he opens the crate to reveal medical supplies.
"Ughh, medical supplies?" Kenji said not seeing how they could use those.
"They had these around the house when my dad got sick, super compressed air, sensitive to pressure and heat?" Darius says rhetorically.
"Might be able to scare Toro off." Brooklynn says.
"Or even distract him long enough so we can find another escape route." Geleel suggests.
"Kenji and Brooklynn lets get this crate loaded on that cart, Sammy and Yasmina use those bandages and tape to make a fuse we're gonna need something to light it with." Darius says as Geleel picks up the electric stick as Yasmina had put it down to search.
He powers it on as Darius realized that was the perfect thing to light up his master plan.
Another loud roar shakes them up aa they get scared and rush to do their parts.
Toro comes stomping into the docks causing the ground to shake as he growls.
He roars around looking for any signs of prey.
The kids all are hiding behind a box out of his sight.
"Light it up." Darius whispers as Geleel tries to light the fuse with the electric stick.
It takes a while to actually light the fuse. "Geleel..." Brooklynn whispers as Geleel tries to light it repeatedly.
"I'm trying, it won't light." He whispers back.
"Wait, hand sanitizer, this stuff will burn." Kenji says reaching into Ben's pouch and pulling out some sanitizer. He pours it onto the tip of the fuse.
Geleel then sparks the fuse with the help of the sanitizer causing a fire to start.
"Thank you Ben." Brooklynn whispers in gratitude.
Toro roars as he realizes the fire. "Now!" Darius yells as the group pushes the crate they were hiding behind towards Toro.
He slams right into it causing everything to fall apart.
The fire spreads causing the campers to jump back in fear.
They all focused on Toro who set sights on them.
"Run!" Darius says.
"Where!" Sammy yells.
"Anywhere!" Geleel yells back as they all run from the charging Toro.
Toro misses them slamming into a container.
They hide behind another container only for Toro to slap that one with his tail destroying it causing them all to split up.
He focuses on Kenji as he tries to bite at Kenji who jumps to the lower platform to get away.
Toro then runs after Brooklynn and Sammy who duck out of the way as he slams into the ground on his back.
He gets up and notices the weakened Yasmina limping. He runs after her but is distracting by a shine in his eyes blinding him temporarily.
He turns to see Geleel using his chain as a distraction. Toro runs after Geleel irate, Geleel then begins to run away from him. Toro is about to catch him until Darius throws a wooden plank at Toro's face causing Toro to switch targets to Darius.
As Yasmina is running away she trips and almost falls completely down until Sammy catches her. They stare at eachother for a moment.
"Thanks." Yasmina says curtly as Sammy helps her to safety.
Geleel and Darius are still being chased by Toro. Darius realizes the electric stick on the ground runs after it as Toro is down.
Geleel notices Toro is down as he runs all the way to the others right as Toro got back up. Darius is still behind because he stopped for the electric stick.
Toro lunges at Darius but slams right into the door hurting himself.
"Darius!" Geleel said offering his hand which he takes.
Geleel pulls him up. Toro roars causing them to be scared again. Darius notices a gas tank is open. He turns on the stick and they run from Toro who charges them once more.
Darius stops as Toro also stops and roars. Darius aims the stick like a javelin and throws it directly at a gas tank causing a massive explosion forcing them all to hide and cover their ears.
As everyone gets up they cough from the smoke of the explosion.
"Is everyone okay?" Darius asked concerned.
"Well aside from the possible lung cancer, we're surprisingly just fine." Geleel says as everyone begins celebrating.
"Woo-hoo, we did it, we beat-" Kenji is cutoff as they hear rubble crumbling.
They all gasp and turn to see Toro rising up from the rubble. Toro lets out a menacing roar as he emerges.
He roars weakly at them. He then looks directly at Darius' and Geleel's eyes as they stare back just as determined.
Toro roared and turned around accepting his defeat.
"Woo-hoo, yea, that's what you get Toro!" Darius yells as the other campers celebrate too.
"And don't come back!" Geleel adds in. Causing everyone to cheer even louder.
"Doesn't get better than that." Darius says.
Yasmina walks up to them. "Wanna bet?" She says as she points to two holes that were made most likely as a result of the explosion.
They ran through the holes and through the forest.
They ran fast and hard...freedom...they were finally fre- or so they thought when they actually reached the docks it was deserted. Everyone had evacuated the island.
"They're gone, they're all gone." Darius says solemnly.
"They'll be back for us won't they?" Sammy asked sad and worried.
"Of course they will, and until then we've got eachother right dino-nerd?" Geleel says playfully.
"You're absolutely right, hooper." Darius repsonds with a chuckle.
Brooklynn gets between them and holds their arms. "Hey, don't forget superstar." She said as hey all chuckled.
Geleel laughs at this as he turns around. What he didn't expect was to be caught in a large group hug.
"Guys, what are you doing?" Geleel asked genuinely confused.
"Happy birthday Geleel!" The entire group yelled as Geleel looks at them thankfully.
"Thanks you guys." Geleel said rubbing the back of his head.
"Sorry we couldn't get you a present." Yasmina said sincerely.
"Eh that's okay, you guys being my friends is a good enough birthday present." Geleel said with a smile as everyone returned it and kept him in the middle of the hug.
The group looked off into the sunset as this was going to probably be the toughest chapter anyone of them has faced in life. These kids are tough though, I see them surviving this.
Chapter fin, and the funny thing is this is actually the end of season one.
