At the Owl House…
Hooty was feeling chipper today with his typewriter out and his letter ready to be written up for his good buddy, Lilith.
He had dearly missed his friend since she left to find herself and to better find a way to make amends to the family, she cruelly tricked… Before she can face her family again, she must find herself first and get to the root of her soul, maybe seeing life outside of ranks and status. Thus, Lilith sent letters explaining her journey for growth and understanding, inspired by the stories of the emperor, who was once a common man himself.
Dear Lulu,
It has been a long time since I have seen you, Hoot, Hoot!
I was so happy to receive your letter a few weeks ago! I am really proud of how far you've come and how much you've done…
Weeks ago…
Hooty was giddy with excitement as he swiped the letter from Lilith Clawthorne from Eda's hands while mail was being handed out.
Everyone else was reading theirs as Hooty went outside to read the wonderful news of his dear friend so far away.
"Hoot, hoot, I wonder how Lulu is doing!"
Hooty ripped out the letter and read the message.
Dearest Hootsifer,
I am so happy that I can write to you now.
I wish to speak to you about the progress I have made since returning home with my mother. Since my journey of redemption and self-discovery, I have acquired an internship among the scholarly and hunters of knowledge, Flora D'splora's Explorers of the Forgotten. Though I do not do much but deliver coffee and sort paperwork, I find the experience most rewarding.
Flora D'splora is the most intriguing and adventurous woman I have ever met, a true mentor to follow. I can see why Emperor Belos trusts her so much to uncover the secrets of Primal Magic and learn its true roots. She was pleased that I had been on King's Island before and wanted to help lead the others to the castle to learn its secrets.
With each new discovery is a discovery of myself. Flora is truly the heart and soul of this team like you are with the family of the Owl House.
You are what keeps everyone together and shows the mark of a true leader.
I hope to be like you and Flora.
Yours,
Lulu
Hooty thought about what she said as he was surprised.
Did he really bring people together?
The more he thought about it, the more he believed it.
I'm happy you told me these things, especially the part about me being part of the family and keeping everything together. But I soon realized how much they needed me. So much has happened since you were last here…
Inside the Owl House…
King was still waiting for word from his family as he was pacing around, using any form of communication to see if they would find him. He was starting to have doubts as he looked at his collar and then at the outside world. The more he did so, however, the more he felt abandoned and alone. Was he really wanted?
Eda forced herself awake to see if there was any way for her magic to return to her. Since Demona's return, she had been heavily rattled by what happened and needed to find a way to protect her family. Her room was filled with books, scrolls, potions, and everything she needed to find a way to get her power back. But the more stressed she was, the more the Owl Beast would come out and the more potions she swallowed. What if she overworked herself into the Owl Beast?
Luz was still studying her ancestor and his vast research on the world. But as she was researching, her thoughts lay elsewhere, where Amity was. She was charmed by her and wanted to be with her, but was far too nervous to admit how she felt. She tried to stuff her feelings down into her research of the esteemed Dr. Philip Wittbane. Besides, Amity could do better than her, she was amazing and she… well she was just a human who recently became a princess. What chance did she have?
Hooty noticed all of this…
If I was really the glue that kept this family together, then I needed to act like it, Hoot, Hoot.
They needed my help…
