It was their yearly winter solstice meeting. Artemis glared at her uncle Hades and twin Apollo arguing about Hades' curse on her brother's Oracle. It was one of the many grievances that were always brought up during their meetings. This one however was still fresh. She had heard millennia of her Father and Uncles arguing about who was stronger, whose children were better and of course who Grandmother Rhea loved more. This time Posiden and Zeus were arguing about the last one. Mostly since Rhea was in the room chatting quietly with her 3 daughters.

A feeling of inexorability washed over and she shivered. She grabbed her bow in instinct and she searched for the intruder that could make her feel this way. Was it Typhon? "Who dares!" Zeus boomed her attention and snapped back to the throne room. She wasn't the only one armed. Everybody but Rhea, Hestia and Hera were. Their expressions were what worried her more than their lack of arms.

Fear.

That was all that was on their face. The 3 women who wouldn't flinch at Zeus, Poseidon or Hades power. They were afraid of whatever this was. She looked at the dark being that strolled into the middle of the room. He, she felt like it was a he, was clad in darkness. It dripped off of him and his power of his aura put everything to shame. The Giants, all the gods and even Gaia. "Answer me!" Zeus shouted his master bolt whirring up with power.

"Lord Chaos!" Rhea said and everyone's eyes snapped to her. She was kneeling. "What may we do for you?" The thing smiled and chuckled. The hair on the back of her neck stood as dread filled her stomach. Some small part of her was screaming to run. Screaming that he wanted her.

"Ah! You really were always my favourite of Gaia's brood Rhea. There is nothing any of you can do. Save the little girl with the bow." Reality swirled around a pinprick of power. It pulled her in like a black hole and she like the rest of them did their best to resist but slowly they all started to give ground to it. Chaos slipped his hand into the tiny thing and he pulled out a bottle and a ruby.

She didn't feel like questioning the fact that Chaos's hand, the gem nor the bottle were small enough to fit through the hole. It vanished and the pulling sensation vanished as well as the items that were pulled out. "The rest of you can leave. Apart from maybe your youngest and eldest daughter."

"Of course." Rhea said and she walked out glaring at Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Demeter. They followed her after a moment and slowly everyone filled out. She could hear her Father and Uncles ask Grandmother about Chaos. They were worried about her. Zeus was expected even Posiden wasn't a surprise, the two of them had a strong relationship even before she became the Goddess of the Moon. Hades caring about anyone other than Rhea and Persephone was a shocker.

The door closed with a boom and she could hear nothing more. How? The door couldn't stop her senses. "I am the one stopping your senses. Well not actively. It is just an unintentional result of my keeping our conversation private. Something I am sure the three of you will also keep to yourselves." He commanded them but his tone was sweet and comforting. She felt like she was being held in her mother's arms. "If that is what you want Lord Chaos." Hera said. Hestia and Hera flanked Artemis. Hestia squeezed her hand and shockingly Hera placed her hand on Artemis's shoulder.

I guess Chaos wanting something from her family trumps Artemis being the result of her husband's infidelity. "Yes. Well, you see I have an experiment I want to conduct. And the three of you will help me." He pulled out the flask. "Your sister. The owl lady. She does this thing and you will too. Essence merger she calls it. It's how she has her children and keeps her as a virgin goddess." He threw the flask to her and failing to catch it, it floated in front of her.

"This flask has the essence of the soon to be father of your child. You and your stepmother will use your powers to grow and keep the child healthy. He. And I mean he. He will be placed into a home by Hestia over here. A suitable one. By suitable one I mean abusive. I want him running away from home by 13."

Rage bubbled in Artemis "What! I will do no such thing!" She picked up and threw the bottle back to him "Oh! You have Moxy! I see you have inherited something from Rhea! You will. It is best. If you don't then… Well then. Let's say your Grandfather will be tacking your father's spot back."

"Father!" Hestia said her voice shaking, Artemis squeezed her hand back. "The great prophecy! He will come back. He is what will Raze Olympus."

"You are quick on the uptake aren't you Hestia? That is why you are my favourite of Rhea's brood. So." He handed the flask up. Somehow space twisted and she knew that no matter the distance "One last chance! Will you."

"Let me! I am the goddess of mothers. If you need someone to birth whom ever you need let it be me." Hera offered herself up and he simply shook his head.

"I considered it. However, it will not have the out come I would want."

"I… I will do it. For Olympus." She was going to be a mother. If she wanted Olympus to continue on she would have to give up this much. Thankfully Chaos wasn't asking her to break her vow. The truth is that she had considered it. When Athena had her first child this way, however, she never really could find a suitable male. And when she did something would come up for long enough that the man would have died from old age or would no longer be suitable by either getting married or doing something she could not condone in the father of her child.

The one thing holding her back was that her son would be in a household that would harm him to the point where he would run. "I have a question. Does the household need to be an abusive one?"

"Strictly no. I… well more like you need him to be living on the street by 3 weeks before his 13th birthday." Chaos said.

"I can find a home that will take him in. One where the boy's parent would die by that date. One with no relatives."

"That can work. But then Artemis will need to do one more thing on that day he loses his family. Well, get to work. You are running out of time."

Artemis took the bottle and closed her eyes, she pulled the essence into herself. It was strange nothing like the normal mortals. But then again she never had anyone else's essence inside herself. She balled it up and she felt something. A weakness. A sickness. It would kill him by the age of 20. She would not stand for that. A sickness killing her child so young. Never.

With a thought that was erased. But the essence felt insubstantial. It was slowly breaking down. Quickly she fused it with her own. She forced it together and she felt her essence filling up the hole created by removing the genetic sickness. Then she melded hers with this man's and waited. Then she felt something. She could decide. If it would be male or female. Reluctantly she started making the child male when a thought popped into her head.

She created a copy, an exact copy. They will be twins. If she is having a child she will have a daughter. Just because she is being forced into making it a boy doesn't mean she can't have a daughter too. The two new cores pulsed with new life. She pushed it to her uterus and with a thought they were placed on opposite walls. She wrapped the female one in a barrier. No matter how much her son grew her daughter will be safe.

Then she will have her daughter the normal way. She nodded to Hera who placed her hands on Artemis's stomach. She felt Hera's power reach into her and touch both eggs. She looked at Hera and gently pushed her power from her daughter and pulled her to her son. With a soft chuckle, she started helping the child grow.

A few hours later she felt something push into her and borrow into her son. Before she could say anything she realised it was a soul. Didn't they develop? Was it a returner from Elysium?

After a few more hours she felt the pulse. It was her power to tell her someone was in childbirth. It was quite easy for her. Her son slipped out of her and was snatched up by Hera before she did was needed to be done for a child that had just been born.

"What will you name him Artemis?" Hera asked as she gently placed him in her arms. She looked up at Hera then back and the silver-eyed boy who was studying her. No, she was imagining things. "I… I don't know." Artemis slightly nodded. She didn't care much what her child was named, after all, she named herself so why shouldn't he? She reached out with her power and connected with her child.

He was powerful and was overflowing with energy. She searched to find her son's name and "Itachi." It rang out in her head. She looked at Hestia who had some files in her hand "Itachi." Her aunt nodded and wrote it down completing the files and she walked up taking the child. "Don't worry Artemis, I'll watch over him." She said closing her eyes and searching the states for a suitable home. "Thank you, Auntie Hestia." Artemis said as she looked back down at her son "Be a good man my son." Then Hestia disappeared in a burst of flame.

She collapsed onto her throne, Hera rubbing her arm. "Now to talk about your daughter." Dread filled her and she looked at Chaos who had a smile on his face. "What? You think I didn't notice. Infact I hopped you would. It would make some things more fun. There are some rules since you haven't had a child yet. Your daughter can not join the hunt untill she has spent 5 congruent years in camp halfblood. Oh, and when you will send her shall be. When something is stolen from this mountain? You will know what it is when it happens. After all I don't want the child taking the oath with out any knowledge of anything other than being part of the hunt. The rest of your girls lived a life outside of it and so your child must live a life apart from the hunt for a decent amount of time before she should make that decision. Goodbye for now."
