Due to being pull through a dimensional rift, the Tamers found themselves scatter across many worlds. Kirito, Asuna, Yui, Sinon, and Yuuki found themselves in the wild west as they must help a gang of outlaws survives the changing world. Section 2 of part 1.

3. Old friends

Hello and welcome to the next chapter of Swordmen of the west! Were back after awhile to see how the SAO crew is doing with our favorite band of outlaws. So let get right to it. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the anime, books or games mention in this story. they all belong to their respected Creators. Now on with the show!

Recap

Last time on Swordmen of the west: Kirito and gang were adjusting to being with the gang as they were trying to survive the cold unsure how to go about helping these outlaws or if they can help them track down Death gun. They got word from Abigail and Hoesa that one of the crew members John was missing. Kirito and Sinon went with Arthur and Javier to find John. As they track him into the mountains The outlaws reveal what went wrong with the job that got them into this mess. They soon found john injure as they have to deal with a pack of wolves. They were able to return to camp as they try to figure out what to do.

Chapter 3

Old friends

Kirito Pov: It been about a few weeks since we end up in this world, we been getting use to it so far. But since were still stuck on this mountain, there isn't much we can do. I hate just sitting on my ass while Death gun is off doing who know what. We need to find him and get home as soon as possible. Right now I was training with Yuuki, I swear that girl is as brutal as ever when it comes to a fight. She block my downward swing as she kick me in the chest causing me to land in a pile of snow. "Woop I win again Kirito told I would." She said with a grin. I got up and dust the snow off of me. "I swear I will beat you one of these days." I said as we went for a walk around camp. We soon spot Arthur talking with Hoesa and Dutch and went to join in. "So what now, Dutch?" Hoesa ask. "We get strong, we get warm… and we wait. When the storm breaks, we move. But we're safe here. Warm enough. You sound doubtful." Dutch said. Hoesa shook his head. "Not… doubtful, just worried." He said concern.

"We have been shot at before, Hosea. I don't feel that this is honestly anything new." Dutch said. he make it sound like it not a problem. "I hope not." Hoesa said. "We had a bit of bad luck, but then the storm covered our tracks, so now we wait a bit… and we go back to Blackwater and we get our money, or we got some more money and we keep heading west." Dutch said. "But we're heading east." Hoesa said. "For now… for now. We got this. We're safe. Stay strong, Hosea. What about you, Arthur? You doubting me, too?" Dutch ask. 'Never." Arthur said. "Good… because you know me, son… I'm just getting started. Once we get some money, well, they… they'd better send some good men after us, 'cause they ain't never gonna find us… but we need money." Dutch said. "Of course, Dutch." Arthur said. "Thank you, son, for your strength. It means a lot to me." Dutch said as he then look at us. "How about you kids?" He ask. "We fine, we'll help you guys for taking us in, come on Yukki let check in on the others." I said as we head to our cabin.

Once there we see Asuna was cooking while Yui and Bosamon sat by a fire. Sinon was cleaning her rifle. "Hard to believe how much time have past since we been here." Asuna said. 'I know but there nothing we can do until we dealt with death gun." I said. "Make me wonder if it only that bastard is here or is he with the other members of laughing coffin." Sinon said. "I don't know we know Poh is in hell, and Johnny black was arrested when he try to kill Kirito." Asuna said. "True, either way we need to be careful how we move from here, I still wary of the gang." I said. 'That Micah guy gives me a bad feeling, he too creepy." Yuuki said. "I like them, mister Hosea is really nice." Yui said. "Still we need to watch our selves." I said. Later that day me and Yuuki were in a cabin as the gang were busy drinking and smoking. ": …up with you boys, because I thought you liked action. Couple of days on the lam… and you lot have all turned yella. Apart from you, of course." Micah said as he look at Lenny.

"Shut up, Micah." He said. "He is asking for an ass kicking." I whisper to Yuuki. She nod. "I ain't never seen so many long faces." Micah said. "I guess… I guess folks miss them… that fell." Bill said. "Well, when I fall, I don't want no fuss." Micah said. "When you fall… there'll be a party." Lenny said getting a laugh out of us. "I can get behind that." Yuuki said. "A party… probably." Bill said with a chuckle. "That funny, huh? Sure." Micah said as he punch Bill in the face. Arhtur and the others hold Bill back to stop him from hitting back. "Maybe I don't feel like being laughed at by the likes of you two." Micah said. That when Dutch enter the room to put a stop to it. "Stop it! Now! You fools punching each other… when Colm O'Driscoll's needing punching, hard. You wanna sit around waiting for him to come find us? All of you, we got work to do. Come on." He said as we head outside to ready the horses. "Are you sure about this, Dutch?" Arthur ask. "Yes." Dutch said. "Folks been through a lot recently… we hardly back on our feet yet." Arthur said.

"He got a point, from what we know there a lot of heat on you guys." I said. "And the last thing we need is to get bushwhacked by Colm O'Driscoll. Let's go." Dutch said. "I know you hate him, Dutch." Arthur said. "He's here for us." Dutch said. "I doubt that." Arthur said. "No, you're just doubting me." Dutch said. "I would never doubt you, Dutch, you… you always said revenge is a luxury we can't afford." Arthur said. "This is the right call, Arthur. Take this." Dutch said as he hand Arhtur a rifle. "And this is about more than revenge for business long ago. They were talking about trains and detonators. Here Colm always had good information. Come on." Dutch said as we mount up. "And you think now is the right time to hit a train?" Arthur said. "He right we don't need this kind of heat." I said. "Now you might fancy living on deer piss and rabbit shit… I'm getting too old for that life. Mr. Matthews, Mr. Smith, Mr. Pearson… would you please look after the place… there are O'Driscolls about. H'yah!" Dutch said as we rode out.

"Southwest, right, Arthur?" Dutch ask. "Yeah, he said follow the main trail southwest. They're camped near some lake." Arthur said. "Okay, let's go find these bastards before they find us, and rob this score they're planning." Dutch said. "Let hope we don't run into too much trouble." I said. "Speak for yourself, we finally get some action." Yuuki said as we ride for a while. After some time we came to a snowy path. "What's that? Tracks… horses, quite a few of 'em. Far as I can tell, the only fools out here are us and them… they must be this way." Dutch said as we follow the trail. "You good, Dutch?" Arthur ask concern. "Of course. Listen, I know you don't think much of my ideas recently, but this is the right move." Dutch said. "Okay… you know I got your back." Arthur said. "I learned a long time ago that you hit Colm O'Driscoll, wait for him and people you love will die." Dutch said. "This feud between you and him… needs to be put to rest, one way or another." Arthur said. "It will be." Bill said.

"Some things I can forgive, others I can forget. What he did to Annabelle, I can't do neither." Dutch said. "You killed his brother, Dutch." Arthur said. So that what this is about. "Yes, I did. And I hope the bastards'll be reunited soon enough. That's how this'll end." Dutch said. "Damn right, boss." Micah said as we saw smoke in the distance. "See that smoke? Let's cut up here and take a look. They said it was near the lake, so we must be up here. Alright, gentlemen, this is it. Are we goddamn ready?" Dutch ask. "Ready, Dutch." Javier said. "Ready." Lenny said. "Ready!" Yuuki shout. "All set here." I said. "Good. Now, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Kirito and I, we're going to head up here a little, see if we can't get a sense of the layout of the camp. Mr. Williamson, Mr. Bell, Miss Yuuki you three take up a hidden position just outside the camp. Mr. Summers, Mr. Escuella, you two hold position here. Let's go." Dutch said as we move into place. We got on a hill to over look the o'driscoll camp with some binoculars.

"Damn there a lot of them." I said. "There they are… That's definitely them." Dutch said as we look at one that seem to be the leader. "Colm?" Arthur ask. "I think…" Dutch said. "Yeah that him." Arthur said as we watch Colm threaten another man. "Who's he talking to? He don't seem very happy." Dutch said as we saw the leaders leaves. "Are they leaving?" He ask. "Should we hunt them down?" I ask. "No. Colm can wait. Best to get some of them outta there. And much less fun to rob him and his score if he never finds out about it. Alright, let's go pay our old friends a visit. Come on, let's go. Seems easiest to take the same path down as Bill and Micah. Like you said, revenge is a luxury we can't afford." Dutch said. "Yeah, I just wasn't sure you agreed with me." Arthur said as we made our way down. "Arthur, Arthur, have you completely lost faith in me? Our needs right now are supplies, equipment and a way out of here. Everything else, including Colm, can wait. There's enough of those bastards down there to deal with as it is. Now come on. It's steep here, careful." Dutch said as we got closer.

"Maybe I should take the lead on this. They're going to be gunning for you." Arthur said. Dutch shook his head. "They ain't got me yet." He said. "No, but the way our luck's been running…" Arthur said. "Hush, let's just get down there first. Down through these trees, quick. Stay low. Come on, follow me. Get in cover" Dutch said as we got to the camp to take cover to avoid being spotted. "So what are we doing, Dutch? I can take this if you want." Arthur said. "Just make the call. You wanna take the lead?" Dutch ask. "Uh it look like Yuuki is already taking care of that." Vielecmon said as we saw Yuuki was sne3aling behind on one of the O'driscolls. Oh what is she doing. Yuuki got close to one as she tap him on the shoulder getting his attention. "Hi." She said cheery as he deck him across the face knocking him down. "Who she?" One ask. "Trouble get her." Another said as the outlaws open fire. Yuuki draw her sword to deflect the bullets. "Vertical!" She shout as she slash down 3 of them.

She then jump to kick another in the chest and then move to cover. Arthur, Bill and Micha shot at the O'driscolls and took few of them out. A shoot hit the cover I was using as Dutch move near me. "Damn there are a lot of these son of bitches." He said as he shot at them. "Yeah, it making it hard for me to move, Vielecmon it time to even the odds." I said. "I'm with you." He said. "No offense kid I doubt your pet will be much help here." Bill said. I smirk as I ready as card. "Watch and be amaze, Digi-modify Digivolvtion activate!" I shout as I swipe the card through my D-arc.

Vielecmon digivolve to Lowemon

The outlaws were shock by my partner new form as Lowemon step out to face the O'driscolls. "What the hell is that?" One ask. "I don't know but he a dead man." Another said as they shot at Lowemon as the bullets bounce off his armor. 'My turn Shadow meteor!" Lowemon shout as he shot the beam of darkness at the O'driscolls causing several to get blown back. He then form his lance and he swung it to knock down a few more. I use this to jump into action, I got close to 2 of them and quickly cut them down. "Sonic leap!" I shout as I jump to stab into one. I spotted a few of them behind me. "Hexgonial!" I shout as I slash them 6 times to take them suddenly jump up a water tower to kick one off into the snow. "Kirito to your right!" She call out as I saw a O'driscoll was about to shoot at me. I quickly threw out one of my throwing knives to hit him in the chess. I think that's all of them!" Bill said. "Who ever we didn't most likely ran off." I said. 'At the sight of your pet I would too." Micah said as Lowemon turn back to normal.

"Search the bodies, strip everything we can from them!" Dutch said as we started to check the bodies for anything worth while. "You recognize any of them, Dutch?" Bill ask. "Of course not. Colm doesn't give a damn about his men. All he cares about is numbers. If you can shoot a gun, and ride a horse, and kill without thought, you're in. Think how long some of you have been with me? I imagine Colm doesn't even know half the names of these fools. Keep looking! We need everything we can get off of these bastards!" Dutch said as we finish check the bodies. "I think we got all that we can." I said. "Now, let's tear this place apart. Bill, you go search that wagon there. Arthur, Kirito you take that building to the left. Alright men, quick! Find those detonators, explosives, anything you can. Let's said as we got to work. Me and Arthur head into a near by building. There we found a large crate fill with Dynamite. "Jack pot." I said. "This will do nicely." Arthur said as we went to rejoin the others.

"Did we get everything?" Dutch ask. "Think so, Boss. Found this on one of them." Micah said as he hand Dutch some papers. Dutch went to look them over. He grin madly. "Oh yeah, interesting… this is something about the train they was gonna rob. A Mr. Leviticus Cornwall. Mount back up, let's keep moving. Alright, let's get outta here. Proud of you boys! All of you. Not a man down." Dutch said as we mount up and leave the camp. "Not bad for some starving down-and-outs. They can pummel us as hard as they like, but we will always get back up and fight. That's who we are. Outlaws for life, fellers. Wait until we have Mac, Charles and Sean back riding with us, and I believe I know… they will all be back." Dutch said. "You didn't get Colm, but this hit will hurt him a lot more than any bullet in the head." Arthur said. "Especially when we rob this train, too." Dutch said. "I guess." I said still not sure about this. "You know… he'll come after us." Arthur said. "Oh, of course he will, just like all the rest. But we're going stay a step ahead of them, make sure we always know where they are before they know where we are. We allowed ourselves to get a step behind in Blackwater. That won't happen again. Alright, dig in, fellers. Let's make some ground." Dutch as we continue riding.

We soon see someone a head of us. "Hey, you see that feller? Wasn't he at the camp with Colm?" Dutch said. "Leave him to me." Arthur said as he chase after the O'driscoll. While he does that the rest of us return to our camp. Once we did we dismount the horse. I saw Asuna walk to me. "How was it?" She ask. "Nothing we couldn't handle." I said. "Yep we took out a lot of bad guys sis." Yuuki said. That when Arthur came back with the O'driscoll on his horse. "Here we are, you sack of shit. Let's introduce you to the boys." Arthur said as he drop the man. "You found the little shit, did you?" Dutch ask. "Yep. I got him." Arthur said as he untie the man to get him on his feet. "Very good. Welcome to your new home… hope you're real happy here." Dutch said to the man. "You want me to make him talk?" Arthur ask. "Oh no, now all we'll get is lies. Mr. Williamson. Tie this maggot up someplace safe. We get him hungry first. I got a saying, my friend… we shoot fellers as need shooting… save fellers as need saving… and feed 'em as need feeding. We're gonna find out what you need. I can't believe it… an O'Driscoll in my camp." Dutch said as Bill took the O'driscoll away.

"No, I ain't an O'Driscoll, mister. I hate that feller." He said. "I'm just sorry we missed out on Colm." Arthur said. "Oh, there's time enough for that. Now, I gotta figure out if we can hit that train." Dutch said as he walk away. I sigh. "This is going to be trouble I know it." I said. "I bet it is, now come on I got dinner ready for us." Asuna said as we head to our cabin.

Sinon: After dealing with the O'driscolls we continue to survive on the mountains, not an easy feat when were low on food. Next time on Swordmen of the west: Chapter 4: The aftermath of genesis. Man what a pain.
