Recap

Last time on Swordmen of the west: The gang continue to survive on the mountain as Dutch decided it was time to hit the Cornwall train. Arthur and Kirito weren't sure this was a good idea as it could bring the police down on them. The gang head out to stop the train as they took out the guards. When searching the train they found bearer bonds that could be wroth a fortune to the crew. Once the heist was done the gang return to camp to prepare to leave the mountain.

Chapter 6

Reunion in the east

Kirito Pov: It been a couple of days since we rob that train. The whole thing was a mess that will bring trouble down on us. I still don't get why Pax want us to help these guys. But if it can lead us to death gun then it can't be help. Right now were preparing to leave the mountain to finally get somewhere warm. About time, I can't stand the cold for much longer. We were finishing loading up the carts as we hit the trail I was riding with Arthur with Yui and Bosomon with me. Hosea said were going to a place call Horse shoe over look to make a new camp. We were already down the mountain as we can see grass. "Ah the sun how I miss you." Yui said happily. I pat her head. "Yeah it nice to finally see after so long." I said. "Agreed." Bosomon said from Yui lap. " Yeah a welcoming sight that for sure." Hosea said as our cart jerk and drop. I saw one of our wheels fell off. "Great." I said. "You alright back there?" Bill ask. "Does everything look alright?" Arthur ask. "What going on?" Asuna ask. "The wheel fell off." I said.

"Alright, let's get it fixed." Hosea said. "You need help?" Javier ask. "I reckon we can handle it… Alright Charles, you and me hold the thing up while you try and put the wheel back on, Arthur." Hosea said as he and Charles lift the cart up. I went to help Arthur to move the wheel back into place ass he got it on. Arthur use a hammer to pound it into place. "That should do it." I said. "Papa we should catch up to momma and the others." Yui said. "The lass is right." Hosea said as we got back on the road. We rode for a bit as we spot 3 Indians on a hill watching us. "Head ups." Vielecmon said. "What you think?" Arthur ask. "If they wanted trouble… we wouldn't have seen them." Charles said. "Poor bastards… we really screwed them over down here. Come on… let's not push our luck." Hosea said sadly. "What you mean?" I ask. "the Indians in these parts got sold a very raw deal. This is the Heartlands we're going to, good farming and grazing country, they lost it all. Stolen clean away from them it was, every blade of grass. Killed or herded up to the reservations in the middle of nowhere." He said.

That kind of sound like how it like for the Faunus back home. "And how's that different from anywhere else?" Charles said. "Well, maybe it's not. I just heard some of the army out here was particularly, uh… unpleasant about it." Hosea said. "Unpleasant? How do you rob and kill people pleasantly? We don't, in spite of Dutch's talk." Charles said. "Why can't we all just get along?" Yui ask. "It not that simple Yui." I said. "I fear I was perhaps trying to simplify something more complicated for the benefit of our blockheaded driver here." Hosea said. "Hey, don't blame it on me. Never forget, this here's a conman, Charles, born and bred. Just 'cause it sounds fancy don't mean he knows a damn thing about what he's talking about. So… what happened to your tribe?" Arthur ask. "I don't even know if I have one… least not that I can remember. My father was a colored man. They told me he lived with our people for a while, a number of free men did, but… when we were forced to move from our lands, the three of us fled. I was too young to really remember much. All life I've been on the run. A couple years later, some soldiers captured my mother, took her somewhere. We never saw her again. We drifted around… He was a very sad man and the drink had a mean hold on him. Around thirteen… I just took off on my own." Charles said.

"That was about the age we found young Arthur here, maybe a little older. A wilder delinquent you never did see. But he learned fast." Hosea said. "Not as fast as Marston, apparently." Arthur said. "Man what is your problem with that guy?" I ask as Arthur sigh. "It's a long story. We still heading the right way?" He ask changing the subject. "That depends… are we still heading west, in search of fortune and repose in virgin forests, as we planned? No. Are we heading in the correct direction on our desperate escape from the law eastwards down the mountains? Yes, I believe so." Hosea said. "Hosea you know where were going well?" I ask. "A little, I've been through a couple of times. There's a livestock town not too far from here, called Valentine. Cowboys, outlaws, working girls. Our kind of place." Hosea said with a chuckle. "Let hope we can avoid trouble." I said. "And this place we're going… wait, what's it called again?" Arthur ask. "Horseshoe Overlook." Hosea said. "It's a good place to lie low?" Arthur ask.

"It'll do for now. And how low do you think Dutch is really going to lie? It's just… you know, maybe it's me who's changed, not him, but, we kept telling him that ferry job didn't feel right. You and me had a real lead in Blackwater that could've worked out. It just… Isn't like Dutch to lose his head like that." Hosea said worry. "Things go wrong sometimes. People die. It's the way it is, always has been. Me, you, Dutch… we've all been in this line of work a long time, and we're still here, so… I figure we must've got it right a hell of a lot more than we got it wrong. What are you working on there anyway?" Arthur ask as Hosea was working on something as we drive. "Just some yarrow and ginseng, good for the health. Better than that stuff you buy in the store. Here, you can have all this. I'm at the point where I can do it with my eyes closed. Excellent. I think this'll work for us, Arthur. For now, anyway. Here we are, gentlemen. Home sweet home." Hosea said as we came to a river bank. We got off the cart to look around.

I soon walk to the girls. "Man this place is so cool." Yuuki said. "A improvement from the mountain. What more there is a town near by so we can start looking for Death gun." Sinon said. "Yeah We need to know why he came to this world and how he can summon sao monsters." Asuna said. 'Agreed, he the last member of laughing coffin leadership. It our duty to end this." I said. "Now let get our camp set up." I said as we got to work. Few weeks later. It been about 2 weeks since we move to Horse shoe over look. We spend this time getting the camp set up and try to avoid attention. I was with Arthur at the camp fire when Hosea walk to us. "Boys." He said. 'What up Hosea." I said. "There's a bunch of the boys already in Valentine… Bill, Charles and Javier. And Swanson found something… down at the train station by the lake apparently. And Strauss came back with that creepy little smile on his face. I'm sure there's a whole list of unfortunates… he's forced money upon." Hosea said.

Arthur let out a laugh. "Thank you. And you?" He ask. "I'm gonna read a book." Hosea said as he walk away. "Say Arthur why don't we head to Valentine, we haven't got a chance to check it out yet." I said. 'Not a bad idea, best to know how it is let go." He said as we mount our horses. It only took us a bit to reach the town. It was quite peaceful. " Not a bad place." he said as we look around. "Your telling me, Hm Oh there a blacksmith here." I said as we head to the blacksmith shop. I wonder if I can get some repair work for my swords. If these cowboys can do that sort of thing. When we got there there was no one in sight. 'Hellow any one here?" I ask. "Hold on for a sec." A familiar voice call out from the back. No way that can't be here. Coming out of the back was a girl the same age as me with short pink hair and a eyes. She wore a red and white dress with sliver armor on her chest hips and hands. she has brown boots and an apron on. She look at me shock. "No freaking way Kirito I found you." She said as she hug me.

"Lizbeth how are you here." I said. "Lizbeth what with the noise?" A voice. Coming out of the back was another girl. She was about the same age as Elize with brown hair tie into pigtails with light red eyes. She wore a blue coat and black shorts with armor on her chest. She have black fingerless gloves and stocking with her boots. What more she have cat ears and a tail. Sitting on her shoulder as a small blue feather dragon. It Was Sillica and Pina. "Kirito." Sillica said as she hug my waist. "Friends of yours?" Arthur ask. "Yeah, from my SAO days. But I never thought I would see them again." I said. Lizbeth cross here arms as she smirk at me. 'You mean when you and Asuna ran off to another world, with barely a good bye." She said. "Very mean Kirito." Silica said with a pout. I rub the back of my head nervously. "Sorry girls, it happen so fast. But I'm glad to see you again. But how are you here?" I ask. "Well after you and Asuna left and then Sinon too, we all continue to hang out together. Then one day the two of us along with Klein and Leafa met this Mirei woman." Lizbeth said.

"Mirei?" Arthur ask. "She this woman who been helping me and my friends in the pasts. What did she want with you guys?" I ask. "She told us you were in trouble, the guy you run with Death gun was running around around here. So we all greed to help out with it. Even that robot girl Alice wanted to come. So she merge us with our avatar like she did with you guys and send us here to find you. But we end up separated." Lizbeth said. "You you guys been in this world all this time?" I ask. 'A few weeks yeah, me and Liz got a job at this black smith hoping we can find news on you." Silica said. "And anything on this death gun creep." Lizbeth said. "I see, well if your friends of the kid then your welcome to join us at the camp. Now I want to check out the saloon." Arthur said. 'Good idea it time for our break anyway." Lizbeth said as we head into the saloon. Once in Arthur when to Javier who try to introduce him to a pair of hookers while we went to a table. "So Kirito how you been doing." Lizbeth ask.

"Good, got caught in between a war with two immortals that turn out to be the world worst case of a lover splat, fought an army of soulless monsters and save the world. So the normal." I said. "So crazy as normal huh." Silica said as Pina rest on her lap. "Pretty much." I said as I notice Bill was getting beat on by some guys. "Oh great I should have seen this coming, at least I can cross out bar fight on my bucket list." i said as I got up to help the others as they were surrounded by thugs. I jump as I slam my foot into one back to send him into the wall. Arthur block the punch of one as he gave him a right cross to the face. Charles grab one and threw him over his shoulder to the ground. Javier as pin to the table by one as he slam his knee to the man groin to knock him off. Bill got one and slam him onto the bar and send him sliding into the far wall. A thug came at me as Lizbeth sweep his leg out from under him and slam her elbow onto his chest. She wink at me. One came up from behind her as Silica slam a chair onto his head to knock him out.

"Sorry mister." She said. Pina got onto one face and started to claw at it. Look like they are about done for. "What the hell is going on down here?" A large man shout as he came down the stairs. 'No Tommy stay up stairs." The bartender said. "Come here you little greeser." Tommy said as he grab Javier and started to beat him up. Arthur went to help Javier as Tommy then focus on him. "You want some too, huh? Come on, pretty boy…" Tmomy said as he grabs Arthur and throws him out the window, after which he follows to continue the fight on the street. The crowd gathers. We got out there to see Arthur trying to hold the large man off. "Should we help?" Silica ask. "No he got this." I said. Arthur soon got the upper hand as he land punches to Tommy face to stun. He follow with an Uppercut to knock Tommy into the mud and started to beat down on him. This go on for a bit until a man pull Arthur off. "Hey, come on. Stop that. Stop! Stop! Please! Please, I beg you. You won the fight already, surely that's enough?" He said.

"He right Arthur you made your point." I said. "Fine." Arthur said as the man took Tommy away. " Man is this kind of thing normal with these guys?" Lizbeth ask. "So far yeah." I said. That when Dutch came over with a fine dress man. "Making new friends again I see, Arthur." The man said. "Look who we found sniffing about." Dutch said. "Josiah Trelawny." Arthur said. 'The one and only, and this must be Kirito Dutch told me of your group." Josiah said. "Yeah, speaking of which, Dutch these are Lizbeth and Silica friends from back home who are here to help find Death gun." I said. "I see then welcome aboard ladies." Dutch said with a smile. "Thank you sir." Silica said with a polite bow. Arthur look at Josiah. "Well, well… I thought you'd gone to New York." He said. "And miss all this glamour? You must be joking." Josiah said. "How are you?" Arthur ask. "Well. Quite well indeed. I went to Blackwater looking for you gentlemen. You're not very popular there it seems. Ah Javier and Charles. I've missed you… and Bill looking as well as can be. Gentlemen, always a pleasure." Josiah said.

"You're right, we ain't too popular in Blackwater." Dutch said. "We left a lot of money there." Arthur said. "And young Sean it seems." Josiah said. "Sean wasn't he one of your crew that got left behind when things went south for you?" I ask. "Sean? You've found him?" Dutch ask. "Yes, I have. He's being held by some bounty hunters… trying to see how much money the government will pay them. I know he's in Blackwater… but there's talk of them moving." Josiah said. "Well, if we step foot in Blackwater… well, then we're dead men for sure." Arthur said. "But you can't abandon your friend." Lizbeth said. "There'll be Pinkertons all over the place, but… if he's alive we gotta try." Dutch said. 'We'll help if we can." I said. "It's you they want, Dutch." Josiah said. "Always is. Charles, go find out what you can, carefully. Josiah, take Javier. Arthur, go get yourself cleaned up. Join them when you're ready." Dutch said as they turn to leave. "We better get back to camp, I'm sure Asuna and the others will be happy to see you two." I said to the girls. "Oh yeah I bet she will." Lizbeth said as we make our way back to camp.

Lizbeth: Now that we found Kirito we get use to life with the gang as we face our next problem. Next time on Swordmen of the west: Chapter 7: Polite Society, Valentine Style. Great now ere crooks.
