My name is Alina prior . My parent are both the leaders of abnegation: Natalia and Andrew prior . I have two sisters and a brother whose names are : beatrice , Maria and Caleb prior

This year I am turning into 16 but I can't celebrate birthday because I am from abnegation and I should be selfless enough to not celebrate it. However I am also an adult now and I need to choose a faction

I can either stay in abnegation or leaving it. However leaving abnegation means that I forsake my family, permanently. I know that I am not selfless enough but I also don't want to disappoint my parent.

"Alina , come downstair and cut your hair ." My body guard ted is calling me .

Ted is my body guard since my mom was having beatrice and Caleb. He is very loyal and caring. However I don't like him romantically but he does . He confessed to me once but I refuse .

"I am coming." I say

I open my door and walk downstair . Mom is already standing in front of mirror. My mom is so beautiful but she has to hide her beauty in abnegation because that is the rule .

"Sit down please." She smiles at me

I sit down in front of mirror . Today is the second day of every third month that I can look at myself in the mirror .

"Are you nervous about tomorrow ?" She asks

"No the test doesn't has to change our choice ." I shake my head

"Very good ." She starts to trim my hair .

My long hair starts to fall on the ground in to dull blond rings . When she finishes , she closes the mirror .

"Thank you for cutting my hair ." I smile at her .

"Now go downstair ." Mom nods at me

I walk downstair into kitchen . Maria and tris are sitting beside Ted laughing. Ted is the best brother that they can ever have . Caleb is very distanced person so they don't interact much.

"Good morning." I kiss them on their cheek.

"Good morning sister . We are going to dauntless party tonight right?" Maria asks . "What are you going to do today morning?"

"I am going to erudite to see my friend Jason coulter . He was elected as the leader ." I say.

Caleb and dad come out from the cooking area.

"You know that our dad doesn't like erudite . You should not go." Caleb rolls his eyes

"Caleb that was my personal issue . Jason is a good boy." Dad shakes his head . "You should go congratulate him."

"Thanks dad ." I say

We sit down and eat breakfast . Ted gives his eggs to tris .

"Ted , tris has her own . You will spoil her ." Dad frowns . "I have talked to max about you and he said that he will give you a new job. He wants you to go this morning."

"I can stay with the family." Ted argues

I know that he wants to say here because of me . I grab his arm

"Ted do this for me . I want you to have a better job." I say

"Fine I will do this for you." He nods at me

I finished breakfast and leave the house immediately. I don't want Ted to follow me . I walk to the bus stop as quick as possible and I see that Robert and Susan are both there

"Hello"I sit down beside Susan."

"Hello how are you doing?" Susan nods at me . "Where are you going?"

"I am going to see my friends ." I say. "I am doing great."

Susan and Robert are silent. Abnegation are very rigid when coming to meet other faction members personally. However I know that they don't care. The bus is here and we hop on the bus .

I stand there by holding the pole . I don't want to seem too selfish . The bus sways on the patchy road and I have to grab the pole tightly to balance myself . When we get to erudite , I get down . I know that Jason will be waiting for me

I told him that I will be there no matter what results are either he wins or he loses . I walk to the centre of the building. That is the library and all researches are done there

"Who are you? What is the purpose of the visiting?" The soldier stops me.

"Let her in. She is my brother's best friend ." Eric is standing by the door ." He told me to wait for her ."

"Sure , come in please ." Soldier lets me go.

I walk inside the library. Eric seems to be happy. He is three years younger than I am .

"I will walk you to our apartment. Jason is having a meeting." Eric says

I follow him upstair . Then I see Jeanine Matthew walking with a bunch of dauntless .

"Hello ms Matthew ." Eric nods at her

"Hello, is this Alina ? Jason's friend?" Jeanine Matthew smiles at me . "I am Jeanine Matthew ."

"I am Alina prior . Nice to meet you ." I shake her hand.

My eyes fall on a man behind max . There is a man who is around 195cm tall . He has brownish short hair and there are some grey hair near his ears. He has brownish eyebrows but black eyes . He has very define shaped and high arch nose and he has little nearly invisible beard below his nose.

He has red lips and his Adam's apple is moving up and down when he swallows and he has some wrinkle on his forehead and his neck. He has very clear collar bone . He looks so tough and strong.

"What are you looking at?" Jeanine Matthew turns around ."him? He is one of lieutenant from dauntless . His name is duke Alden right?"

"Yes madam." Duke says

I am blushing. I run away without even saying goodbye. I run toward the meeting area .

"Alina?" Jason coulter is on the couch. "What happened? Did Eric bullied you?"

"No, it was just." I say. "I maybe fallen in love with someone ."

"Who is that?" Jason stands up. "I maybe can help."

I can't know my feeling now . It just made my heart jumps fast.

"That is someone from dauntless ." Eric comes toward us . "Duke Alden, he is too old for you. Almost ten years older than you are . You are 16. He is 26!"

"I don't know about love yet . My heart just beat faster when I saw him." I say. "Congratulation Jason."

"Thanks ." Jason smiles at me . "I will give you some water to drink."

I nod at him . He walks to the table and pours me a cup of water . I take it and drink.

"I am feeling better now . Do you know him ?" I frown

"I saw him everytime . He is quiet handsome and he is the youngest lieutenant that dauntless ever had . There is a rumour that he only has one fear ." Jason says . "I made the fear landscape and I know how deep that simulation can find within a person and only find one in him."

I am more curious about duke already. He is not only handsome but brave .

"We are going to dauntless tonight right?" I ask. "Are you going!"

"I have to." Jason sighs . "I don't want to go but now I am the leader ."

"We can go together ." Eric says .

Jason nods at us . We talk and chat. Jason is very working hard leader .

"My father has problem with Jeanine Matthew . I don't know why." I say.

"I don't know too."

Duke Alden's pov

I walk behind max . I don't know who was that girl with Eric but she is pretty. She is from abnegation.

"Who was that girl? Why was she here?" I ask

"Her name is Alina prior . She is someone that Jason likes ." Jeanine Matthew shrugs. "She is the daughter of Andrew prior."

"Oh got you." I smile

I don't know why I feel weird . I don't know her before . Alan nudges my elbow .

"Her mom is the prettiest woman among five factions . She is so much resemble her mom." Alan giggles . "Do you like her ?"

"Shut up. Did you ever see her mom before ?" I ask

"My dad was friend with her mom and I saw photo of her mom. She is pretty." Alan says

We get back to dauntless with max . Tonight is the party and she will be here . I get back to my room and get ready. I open the hot shower . My roommate moved out last week because he has a girlfriend .

After I am ready, I get to the party. She is there already sitting with Jason coulter and Eric . She sees me and tilts her head faster

"Who are you looking at ." Lisa stands beside me

She is my friend but not that close . I shake my head . I don't want her to know what I was thinking.

"Mr Alden." Someone is calling me

I raise my head . Alina is there with a bottle in her head

"Do you need me to open it for you?" I try to be cool.

"Please ." She blinks her eyes at me

I take the bottle and open the cap. She takes it.

"Thanks Mr Alden. You are the best." She runs back to the table

This is the first time that people ever tell me that.

"You are all red Mr Alden." Lisa laughs.

"Get away from me ." I point at her

I walk toward Alan. He is there drinking with max .

"Hello Alan ." I sit down.

"I saw you helped her ." Max says . "You never help anyone ."

"I just don't know ." I order a cup of drink.

Alan looks at me . Did they think that I fall in love with her! No , that can't be possibly be true

"I ask Ted to be the instructor and I wish that you can be the leader in training." Max says . "You are one of our best fighter ."

"Sure ." I nod at him.
