A dream, but unlike anything else he has ever had.

Why now? It's been roughly two months since he has ever remembered any dream of his.

Izuku looks around and takes in the dream. An odd landscape, filled with jagged rocks, tall multi-color stone pillars in the distance, and red dirt. It almost looks like the pictures of the surface of Mars, only with giant stone pillars.

Suddenly, a sound reaches his ears. It sounds like a flute, but also nothing like it. It sounds totally alien but utterly beautiful. He looks around for the source of the sound and finds it. It was from someone sitting on a nearby stone. He doesn't recognize him at all. His clothes look unlike anything Izuku has ever seen. He is pale, with white hair and purple eyes, exactly like him. The only difference is the pointed ears that are barely noticeable under a set of messy hair.

He suddenly stops and looks right at him from atop his rock.

"Hello, young Midoriya Izuku." His voice is mellow, but with a seemingly ethereal quality to it. Beautiful and soft, the words that leave his lips seem to ensnare his sense of hearing, caressing his ears with each word that left his mouth.

Izuku doesn't say anything for a bit, the words spoken by the man seemingly stunning him.

"Wh- Where am I?" Izuku's voice is but a pale comparison to what the man spoke. It is like comparing the banging of rocks to the most beautiful music ever made.

The man spreads his arms and responds. "You are dreaming in the Shrouded Void. A place unlike anything that exists in all of creation." The man's voice could hold the attention of anyone he spoke to. It is ecstasy for the ears.

"S- Shrouded Void?"

"You dreamed of it many times, but something prevented you from seeing the true nature of it. A Shroud covered your eyes from this place. A tiny rip, insignificant and small, has now allowed you to see this place in full detail if only a small part of it."

Izuku doesn't understand. Perhaps he never will ever understand.

"I don't understand. I haven't dreamed in two months."

The man looks down at him, his eyes seem to pierce right through him.

"You have, you just don't remember. Be glad that you have no memory of them, as you would have gone insane. The beings of the Shrouded Void have been hounding you ever since that tiny rip granted them access to your mind."

His face turns serious. His eyes harden and with a look that could command armies, he speaks to Izuku.

"Be warned, young Midoriya, any further damage to the shroud that has protected you so far will grant you abilities beyond anything you have ever imagined, but will also, in turn, catch the attention of beings and allow them to have full access to your body. You will lose control and be possessed and will never ever gain back control. Avoid doing anything that will strain your powers until you have a way to fully control them. This will allow the shroud to be properly removed in a way that will allow you to have full access here while also protecting your mind and soul from the denizens of the Shrouded Void. Be wary of the future. Great things are now in motion. The White-Haired King and the Humble man now know of your existence. Expect one of them to contact you in a dream sometime in the future."

At the mention of the White-Haired King, Izuku then remembers the stories he told to Kauri about the character he had made up to tell stories about to her.

Seemingly knowing what Izuku is thinking, the man nods his head. "Yes, that man. He is no fable. He is a man of incredible power, able to wield the Shrouded Void in such ways that no one else can do. He is ancient and capable of destroying on such a scale that has never been seen before. Do not anger him. The humble man keeps him in control. He is the moral compass and is the sole reason you still live. Remember that."

His face softens a bit.

"Do not be afraid of using your power like before. Things are now different. The shroud that protected you was also your crutch. You now have access to a small tiny bit of your true potential. Do not stress your power, as it could rip the tear in the shroud even more."

"I will be in this same spot in your dreams if you shall ever need me again. All you need to do is think of this spot before you sleep, and you shall dream of this place once more."

He raises his flute to his lips, but before he plays, he says one last thing. "Good luck young man. I pray for good fortune to grace you. Goodbye."

As those final words leave his lips, Izuku disappears and he resumes playing his flute.

May this young man have the power to help save the Ancient Cetarium, and to help them in their war to protect Creation.

A punch and kick, a dodge and he is suddenly on the floor of the ring.

Kendo appears to his left and looks down at him. She offers him a hand and helps him up.

"I've fought training dummies more skilled than you, Midoriya." She says and slaps him on his back.

He looks back at her with a deadpan expression. She smiles right back at him.

"It's cause you constantly use those giant hands of yours! Why do you constantly use your quirk?"

The smile shrinks a little as they leave the ring. "Technically due to quirk laws, I really shouldn't. But how else am I gonna learn how to really use my quirk better in a fight? Plus, no one really cares that I do, unless you wanna snitch that I do?"

A gleam in her eyes scares him off from ever thinking of it. Not as if he would actually get her in trouble with the law.

As he walks back to the showers, he thinks of the last two months. A lot has changed so far. He goes to the beach every day now. With Gran Torino's constant watch and tutorship, he has managed to catch up with the time he lost during his recovery. Also, now there is a schedule now on who picks up the trash.

There are some days that All Might can't come (Remember, he still is the Number One hero in all of Japan, he still has a lot of things more important than training him and being there to pick up the trash.), so instead Mei comes along and takes the scrap.

As he turns on the shower, he shudders at the thought of Mei. She is a whole host of trouble and chaos. Fun trouble and chaos, but still trouble and chaos. He does head to the beach later nowadays, due to the Dojo. While he'll never say it to her face cause it would only increase the size of her ego, Kendo is a great teacher. During the times she isn't kicking his ass and knocking him down, she constantly helps him with his form, gives great advice, and is just an overall great teacher.

Time goes by and soon he finishes his shower. He took his time today as he wanted to try out a new shampoo. In hindsight, there are better ways to test out shampoos than just wasting them at a gym shower. He gets dressed and as he is about to leave, he spots Kendo. She doesn't look that happy as she approaches him.

With a punch on the shoulder and a small glare, she looks at him for a second. "You took your time. Come on, you're coming with me."

Izuku is confused but goes along as making her mad is a recipe to get a worse ass-kicking than normal in the ring.

"Uhh, where are we going?" He asks.

"We…" She pauses as she opens the door and they both exit the Dojo. "-Are going to get pizza! I know a great pizza place near here that I always go to."

Time passes and they are well on their way to getting pizza.

"Hey, Midoriya. I've never seen you use your quirk. Now that I think of it, I don't know much about you in general."

Izuku looks to his left to look at Kendo for a moment. He looks back in front of himself.

"Uhh… It's called Psyker. To be honest, I don't fully understand it. Every time I've tried to use it, It causes me to pass out. I've uh, also hurt someone really badly with it. As far as I know, it can only lift things."

Izuku thinks back to the dream he had.

Dream, that was way too weird to be a dream. That had to be real. Somehow, someway, I'm connected to this "Shrouded Void". That man also told me that things are also somehow different than before, and to not be afraid to use my power…

"Anyway, uh, I'm 5ft 5in. Blood type O, if that matters to you. I also love heroes. What about you?"

It was a pitiful response, but to be honest it was the only thing he could really say. The thought of the "dream" that he had is distracting him.

"I'm the same height and same blood type as you. Huh, we act nothing alike… Anyway, I moved here from Chiba five years ago. I'm an only child, and my father is my only parent. My mother was the reason we moved here, job made her do so. She left dad and since she was the one with the job, he had to get one. We had enough money to open that Dojo, and it's been keeping a roof over our heads and food on the table ever since."

Izuku can relate to being an only child, and to having only one parent. His father was a no-show for his entire life. He never asked about his father, and he never cared to. His mother was the one who took care of him. She was a pillar of strength, no matter the hardships that came from being a single parent. Her strength was the strength of a hero…

Izuku misses his mother…

"So, Midoriya… I know that you want to go to UA like me. Why do you want to be a hero?"

Izuku thinks for a moment.

"I wanted to be like All Might originally. He always wore that smile of his all the time no matter what. Now, I'm not sure… I think I want to be similar yet distinctly different… I want to help people… I want to be a hero not only to help people but to also do the right thing. It makes me happy to do the right thing, I want to do the right thing. I want to see people smile, I want to help people."

Kendo looks at him for a few seconds. He tries to ignore the feeling of her eyes boring into him.

"My reasoning is the exact same, I want to do the right thing also. I guess we are more alike than I thought."

They arrived at their destination moments after she finished. 'Garbadali's Pizza Emporium' was displayed in bright digital neon letters.

"Oh, here we are! I'm a plain slice type of girl, plus it's a great slice overall. I'll pay for it."

They go inside and are greeted with a stereotypical New York-style pizzeria. A wide portly man, topped with a chef's hat and a dusty apron greeted them.

"Welcome to Garbadali's Pizza Emporium! Finest pizza on this side of the world! What can I get you two?" The man was loud and cheerful. The place felt welcoming. It was filled to the brim with customers all eating different types of slices. There was only one person at the counter.

Kendo answered for both of them. "Two plain slices for the both of us, please! Your best slices if you can!"

The man replied with a loud, bellowing laugh. "All my slices are the best!" He then proceeded to get two paper plates and place two bubbling hot slices on them. "But these are fresh out of the oven, still boiling and cooking! Watch your mouth!"

Kendo fished out the money and placed the cash on the counter and grabs the two slices. She hands one plate to Izuku, who then blows on it.

He took a bite and nodded his head. This is really good. Like, seriously!

Just as he was about to tell her his thoughts, the TV at the corner of the restaurant that was playing ads returned to its regularly scheduled programming, the news.

"Good afternoon, and welcome back. We return with breaking news. Tensions have come to a sudden and sharp breaking point with the Daimyo Restoration Society. Their leader, Fushigi Oda, has made this statement."

Everyone in the restaurant was now looking at the TV. Izuku and Kendo looked at each other for a moment before looking back at the TV. It cut to a press conference with a handsome and proud-looking man in a suit standing before a podium.

"Ever since the restoration of Meji, we have lost our rights constantly and constantly. We have been fair in negotiating with the Government but they have only given false promises and lies. If the government cannot negotiate with honor, then we have little choice but to consider the unthinkable. Great Japan will be restored, no matter what!" He slammed his hand on the podium before walking off. Reporters yelled out questions and cameras flashed as he walked off, him never paying any attention to any of it.

It cut back to the news anchor. "So far, spokespeople for the DRS have all been silent as reports of their private army have come in showing possible mobilization efforts. While the JSDF has stated that any threats to the security of Japan will be dealt with harshly and swiftly, earlier reports of the status of the military from last year show that the Military is not equipped to deal with a threat like this. Only in the coming months will we see if war comes back to Japan."

"In other news, the famous 1st Special Quirked Operations Unit, the Lionhearted, has once again made headlines after completing operations in Arkhangelsk, Russia against the Dikaya Okhota, further reports-" The TV kept speaking but no one was paying attention.

People all around them started whispering. Izuku turned to Kendo.

"The DRS?" Kendo looked at him like he's been living under a rock.

"You've never heard of them?" She questioned him. Izuku nodded his head. "No, I've heard of them, but only really from history books. They're the Nobility Party right?"

Kendo nodded. "It's a little more complicated than that. Do you know about the Second Civil War, the one before World War Two? Most former nobles joined the Democratic forces when they were promised that they could keep many of the current privileges and rights after the war. When the Second World War broke out, Japan was on the side of the Allies. So we joined the war as soon as it began. When the war started to break everything down, the State had to suspend all civil rights and had to declare Martial Law. After the war, everyone kinda forgot about the agreement, even the Nobles mainly because so many people were dead that it wasn't that important. It wasn't until a few decades ago that the DRS started to push for it, in a more radical form." She took a bite out of her slice.

"It 'as 'ainly cause-" She finished chewing and continued. " It was mainly because of the Oda clan. The father of the current leader, Akira Oda, had started to rally all of the noble clans. He started to push for a more authoritarian government, like the old Shogunates from the past. No one took them seriously until Fushigi took over some thirty years ago. Now they've gained hundreds of thousands of supporters, mainly from the nobility, the wealthy, and the powerful. Now they have the power to push their ideas onto the country. Except that no one expected this at all…"

Suddenly, the day didn't feel that great.

They quickly finished their slices, the pizza now leaving a slightly bitter taste as if the world had become dark. They threw out their plates into a nearby trashcan and continue on to their final destination, wherever that is. They were silent until Kendo spoke to break it.

"So, the exam is in four months. I like our chances of getting in. While I constantly kick your ass, I admit that you are a better fighter than most of the people in the Dojo. I've seen you fight others, and while you aren't the best, you are getting better every day. My father says you are one of the fastest learners he has ever seen, and he's been in this business for a while."

Izuku smiled at her praise.

His heart beat a little faster.

They talk about other things as they walk, trying to keep the news out of their head. Little things about themselves. After some time of just walking, Kendo stopped under a tree.

Kendo wiped her hands and looks at Izuku. "Alright, now to the main reason why I wanted to get out of the dojo." She walked up to him before putting her hands on her hips.

"I want you to show me where you go after the Dojo."

The question startled Izuku. "Uhh… I just head home."

I don't think I should show her where I train. The chance of her finding out about All Might somehow is too great of a risk.

The answer didn't convince her. She points a finger an accusatory finger at him. "I know you're lying, while my father doesn't suspect a thing, I know that you must be training somewhere else to grow in skill as fast as you are!"

At this point, she is shoving her finger into his face, forcing him to start to lean backward. "So, here's the deal. You're gonna show me where you train right now, or I will make sure that I will find out when we are sparing. Am I understood?"

'So here's the deal, dumbass, when Mom comes to ask what happened, you're gonna say nothing, Am I understood? Everything was an accident. You will tell no one, ever.'

"F-f-fine! F-f-fine! Al-r-r-right! I'l-l-l show you! Ok-k-ay?!" Izuku stutters out, firmly intimidated. His hands in front of him in an effort to protect himself.

She pulls her finger back, and gives a victorious look at him, acting like she just didn't bully her friend into showing her something he didn't want to.

Izuku right's himself and places his hand on his chest in order to calm his now rapidly beating heart. He turns himself around away from Kendo.

It's alright, calm, calm, calm.

Oblivious to her companion's anxiety, she walks up to him and slaps him on the back a few times, and laughs.

"C'mon Midoriya, I wasn't actually gonna do anything to you. Now let's go! I wanna see where my star pupil trains!"

Looking at the beach, from the beginning to now, there is a clear difference. What was a vast scrap yard is now but a rather cluttered beach. Where refrigerators, sinks, and even cars layed about now show the golden sand.

Izuku feels pride in his work for the first time. Normally he just arrives and moves the trash while Gran Torino would coach him on proper technique while occasionally delivering a kick to a side once in a while in order to teach him to always be on the lookout.

'You must always be on the watch while being a hero, always scanning around, especially during a fight, patrol, or even helping during disasters.'

Gran Torino helps the young man up. Izuku starts rubbing his side.

'An example would be this: If you were helping during an earthquake, you should take note of any potential hazard. Live wires, weak structures, fire hazards. Anything that could risk anyone should either be dealt with, or you should tell someone, a hero or emergency services, to handle it.'

Izuku sits down, now thoroughly interested in the old man's advice.

'Or take this for example. If you have a sidekick, you could have them deal with whatever while you focus on the priority. You could have them help you in a fight, be scouts during a patrol, or have them coordinate with police, firemen, or EMTs during disasters. I know some heroes don't have sidekicks, thinking they will only weigh them down, but in reality, a good sidekick can basically be your own double.'

'Now, do you understand why I'm doing this?'

Izuku nods. 'I need to be aware for anything that could happen. I could be dealing with one villain while another villain tries to take me by surprise. If I notice them fast enough, or have made a note of the possibility of them coming, I could be prepared.'

The old man smiles at him. 'Exactly! You are learning much faster than that dunderhead of a student All Might. You make an old man proud and eager to see what this new age of heroes can bring.'

I remember how I felt when he said he was proud of me. This feels kinda like that…

Izuku is pulled out of his thoughts when he notices Kendo finally walk up to the sidewalk to see the beach.

"So this is the magical place that you keep heading to? I've heard of this place, I was told that this was one giant scrap yard."

She then quickly turns towards Izuku, walking back a little. "Don't you tell me… You've been cleaning this beach yourself?!"

She runs down to the beach proper, waving her arms all around. "How?!" Izuku hears her yell on the beach. He heads down after her.

"How could you have managed to do all this? In such little time!" She approaches a nearby car and tries to lift it. She fails and falls on her bottom in a huff. She gets back up and activates her quirk. She manages to lift it above her head easily.

"You've barely even told me about your quirk! Do you use it here?" She throws the car down the beach and it lands in a splash of sand. "There is absolutely no way you've been doing this. Have you been holding out on me during sparing?"

Izuku rubs his neck in embarrassment and now sports a bright blush and makes his eyes and hair stand out. "It's nothing really, I just have a good trainer here." He looks her in the eyes. "And an amazing trainer at the Dojo."

She blushes slightly and turns away from him. "Anyway! You didn't really answer my question. How have you been managing to do this? I had to use my quirk to lift the car, and I'm pretty sure that there were more than just cars here. You had to have used your quirk! So tell me, what is it? Strength enhancing? Muscle enlargement? Some sort of levitation quirk?" The last one gets a slight reaction from Izuku. She pounces on it.

"So, a levitation quirk? Cmon! You gotta show me, please, please, please!" She begs him, walking up to him.

"It's not really a levitation quirk. It's more complicated than a simple telekinetic or psychokinetic quirk. Even after all these years, I've barely used it and so I don't even really understand it."

Kendo quickly calms down and realizes something he said before. "You said you hurt someone, right? What happened, if you don't mind me asking?"

Izuku stares into the ocean, not looking at anything specifically as he tries to remember what exactly happened.

"I was with my friend at the time. I just had gotten my quirk, while she had gotten hers a little bit before, maybe a month or two earlier. We were playing in a nearby shallow river, we would do that all the time. The water was cool during the summer and close enough to my home that we weren't far enough to get lost. I got my quirk when I managed to lift up a toy when we were putting them back. She asked me to try and- and lift her."

Izuku looks at his hands, scarred and callused from the work he has done. They start shaking a little.

"I was told not to, the doctors told me not to. I still did it. I tried to lift her up… and something happened, I still don't know what… The next thing I know is that I'm in the hospital and apparently I hurt her. They didn't tell me how, I don't even remember…"

He can feel a few tears in his eyes coming out.

"It was an accident! It was! I said I was sorry! I've said that a million times! I didn't mean to!"

He can feel himself being pulled into a hug. A hand rubs his back as he is rocked back and forth.

"Shh… It's alright Izuku. It's alright… Listen, I'm sorry for asking. We can head back if you want. Maybe get something to eat again?"

Izuku shakes his head. "No, I'm alright. I'm alright… I've never really ever told anyone that. Not even my mom…"

Realizing that Izuku is spacing out, she gently shakes him to get his attention. "Hey, hey. It's alright, I'm here. I'm right here for you, okay?" She gently pushes him away so that she can get a better look at him. "Look at me, alright? Look at me."

He looks her straight in the eyes. She does the same thing.

"You're not a bad person. While I don't know the entire situation, I want you to listen to me. For the few months that I've been training with you, I've never met someone like you. I've never seen someone grow so fast ever in the dojo. You've gone so far without using your quirk, handicapping yourself out of fear, and look at what you've done! You're one of the best martial artists in the Dojo, and you've managed to nearly clear this beach in such a short amount of time. You're amazing… and I never want you to forget that."

Izuku looks back at her with wide eyes. No one has ever talked to him like that. Ever.

She pulls him in a tight hug. Rubbing his back, while he has his arms behind her before hugging her also.

They stay like that for a bit. Just holding each other, the sound of the waves in the background.

After a bit, Izuku makes a decision.

He lets go, takes Kendo's arms away from him, and stands up.

"Midoriya?" She asks.

"I've made a decision." He replies. "I can't fear it anymore… My quirk, I need to control it."

Kendo immediately stands up when she hears him. "Midoriya, you said you pass out every time you use it. What's different now? I know I'm a great speaker, but my quirk isn't Magic Words!"

She wouldn't believe me, no one would… but if what that man said is correct, then I can do this!

Psyker will obey me!

He points to the car that Kendo threw earlier. "Kendo, I want you to watch that car. Don't do anything else, but watch." He looks right at her, Kendo now standing to his left. "I want to you witness this."

He looks at the car, staring at it for a few moments before lifting up his arm and pointing it at it.

And for the first time since all those months ago, Psyker activates.

His vision goes purple, and whispers are heard from the background noise. Unbeknownst to him, his pupils start to glow, along with his hair seemingly lifting itself up.

The whispers start growing louder, louder, and louder. Each one of them says something different but all mean the same thing.

PAIN

DESTROY

KILL

ALL SHALL DIE

Suddenly, it was as if another group had barged in, different voices adding to the now-growing chorus.

POWER

DESTINY

INFINITY

ETERNITY

More and more voices come in, each all talking about something different, but seemingly all wanting the same thing.

To influence him.

Is this what the man said about those beings? The ones that he warned me about? To control and possess me?

No! I won't let them! I am free to do what I want! Psyker is mine to control!

It will obey me!

Izuku ignores and pushes the voices out of his mind, and focuses his will entirely on the car, wanting only one thing.

Pull…

Nothing happens at first, but then slowly…

It lifts up.

Kendo notices it almost immediately. "Midoriya! Midoriya, you're doing it! Really! You are!"

She looks back at him. "Midoriya I can't bel-"

Blood runs down his nose, eyes, and ears like a small river. His hair is moving wild and violent, and his pupils are glowing brightly. His arm is noticeably shaking.

"Midoriya? Midoriya, you can stop now." She looks worried.

Pity he can't see her.

As if everything became just him and the car, he can only focus on that.

The car lifts higher up, about a meter off the sand, and starts coming towards him slowly.

Yes. YES!

FINALLY!

FINALLY!

When it gets to about two meters away from him. He slowly turns, with it turning with him, and he starts walking towards a pile he uses for garbage.

He doesn't even realize how his body is reacting. Each step he takes looks as if he was carrying the world. His knees and legs wobble, while each step is taken shakily.

Kendo has some tears coming down her face at this point. The blood drips into the sand with each step. "Izuku! Please! Please stop! Your hurting yourself! Please! Stop!"

"What's going on over here?"

Kendo turned behind her to the voice.

Izuku grins widely, a madman's smile. Each step is filled with ecstasy, each breath being like liquid gold.

FINALLY!

YOU DON'T CONTROL ME!

MY WILL IS MY OWN!

YOU WON'T HURT ANYONE UNLESS I SAY SO!

OBEY ME!

MY WILL IS INFINITE!

A panicking Kendo faces a pale-faced Gran Torino. "Help him! He's hurting himself! Please! He won't listen to me!"

Gran Torino faces his young student. His hair waving wildly, his body shaking with each slow and simple step, blood coming down his face and dripping into the sand.

Yet he has the widest grin, and though his body looks and says otherwise, he looks as if he is having the best time of his life. His bright purple eyes glowed like stars at night.

As Izuku nears the pile, he feels as if he was King of the World.

EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!

PSYKER IS MINE TO COMMAND!

THE POWER TO CONTROL REALITY AND HAVE IT BEND TO MY WILL IS MINE!

THE ANCIENT CETARIUM-

"-will fall!" Izuku yells as he brings his arm down when he reaches the pile.

Izuku stares at the car, place haphazardly on the pile before looking at the sky and screaming with all of his might.

With the happiest feeling he has ever felt in his entire life, he slowly and shakily turns around to look at Kendo.

Only to see her on her knees with tears in her eyes, with a pale-faced Gran Torino's hand on her shoulder. His arm extended out towards him.

Suddenly like a truck, the feelings go away, leaving feeling hollow. He can feel the ache in his muscles and bones. The sweat mixed in with his blood coming down his face and the massive headache, everything hits him at once.

The man on the rocks!

His vision blurs, and the world goes black.
