The atmosphere in the bar turned tense as Naruto's presence seemed to cast a shadow over the once lively establishment. The three staff members exchanged wary glances, their eyes narrowing as they assessed the situation. Each of them could feel the crackle of energy emanating from Naruto, a palpable aura that set their nerves on edge.
The guy tightened his fist, his muscles tensing in anticipation. Beside him, the two waitresses, both poised and graceful, exchanged silent signals, their expressions unreadable yet tinged with caution.
Naruto, unfazed by their scrutiny, met their stares with a calm demeanor, though a hint of amusement danced in his eyes. He understood their apprehension; after all, he was a stranger in a foreign land, and his sudden appearance likely raised more questions than answers.
Clearing his throat, Naruto addressed the trio with a disarming smile, his voice carrying a hint of warmth despite the tension in the air. "I must admit, this isn't quite the welcome I expected on my first visit to Japan. But fear not, I mean no harm."
His words, though reassuring, did little to alleviate the staff's unease. The bartender exchanged a meaningful glance with his companions, a silent acknowledgment of the potential threat that stood before them.
As the seconds ticked by in heavy silence, the air crackled with anticipation, the calm before the storm. It was clear that Naruto's presence had irrevocably altered the course of the night, and the staff of the Black Dog Bar braced themselves for whatever came next.
The guy with the rough exterior spoke first, his voice laced with suspicion as he directed his question at Naruto. "Who are you? What's your goals for coming here?"
Meanwhile, the brown-haired waitress who had engaged in conversation with Naruto chimed in, her tone echoing the skepticism in her companion's voice. "You mentioned this is your first time in Japan, right? Who sent you? Is it the Wizard of Oz?"
Naruto's lips curved into a wry smile at the unexpected reference, but he maintained his composure as he responded to their inquiries. "You could say I'm just a traveler passing through," he replied cryptically, his words carefully chosen to reveal little about his true identity or intentions.
The bartender exchanged a wary glance with his colleagues, his expression betraying a mixture of curiosity and wariness. "A traveler, huh? You don't seem like any ordinary tourist," he remarked, his tone tinged with skepticism.
Naruto offered a nonchalant shrug in response, his demeanor relaxed despite the tension in the air. "Perhaps not," he conceded with a hint of mystery in his voice. "But rest assured, I mean no harm. I'm simply here to explore the wonders of Japan and perhaps enjoy a good bowl of ramen."
The waitress eyed Naruto skeptically, her gaze lingering on him as if searching for any sign of deception. "And what about the energy we sensed from you?" she pressed, her voice betraying a note of suspicion. "You can't deny that there's something... unusual about you."
Naruto's smile remained enigmatic as he met her gaze steadily. "Ah, that," he replied cryptically, his tone betraying a hint of amusement. "Let's just say I have a few tricks up my sleeve."
The exchange left the staff of the Black Dog Bar even more uncertain about Naruto's true nature, their suspicions lingering like a shadow in the dimly lit room. As they continued to scrutinize him, Naruto remained unfazed, his true intentions shrouded in mystery.
He twirling a toothpick between his fingers as he spoke. "As for who sent me," he began, his tone casual yet earnest, "I came to Japan purely out of my own volition. Besides, I've never heard of or know what the Wizard of Oz is."
His words carried a hint of sincerity, but the staff remained skeptical, exchanging cautious glances as they deliberated Naruto's response. The waitress furrowed her brows, her skepticism apparent in her voice as she pressed for further clarification. "You expect us to believe that you just waltzed into Japan without any connections or ulterior motives?" she challenged, her tone tinged with disbelief.
Naruto's expression remained composed, his demeanor calm and collected despite the scrutiny he faced. "Believe what you will," he replied with a shrug, his tone carrying a hint of nonchalance. "But I assure you, my intentions are nothing but genuine."
The waitress leaned forward, her eyes narrowing as she studied Naruto intently. "And what about your... abilities?" She inquired cautiously, choosing her words carefully. "We couldn't help but notice the... unusual energy emanating from you."
Naruto's lips curved into a wry smile at the mention of his abilities, a glint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Ah, that," he mused, his tone tinged with mystery. "Let's just say I have some gift from God."
The staff's surprise was palpable as Naruto casually mentioned his divine gift. They exchanged uncertain glances, their suspicions lingering despite Naruto's assurances. As they continued to observe him, Naruto's enigmatic demeanor only added to their uncertainty, leaving them to wonder about the true nature of the mysterious traveler in their midst.
The rough-looking man ventured a guess, his curiosity evident in his tone. "Gift? Is that some kind of Sacred Gear?"
Naruto leaned against the pub table, his posture relaxed yet enigmatic. "Well, you could say that," he replied cryptically, a hint of mystery in his voice.
The staff exchanged uncertain glances, their suspicions lingering despite Naruto's assurances. As they continued to observe him, Naruto's enigmatic demeanor only added to their uncertainty, leaving them to wonder about the true nature of the mysterious traveler in their midst.
FREEZE
As the four of them engaged in what was starting to become a more relaxed conversation, the atmosphere tensed once again when the area around Naruto's seat suddenly became encased in a layer of ice, seemingly materializing out of thin air. The ice swiftly spread, enveloping Naruto's body within its frozen embrace.
Surprised gasps escaped the lips of the staff as they watched in astonishment, their eyes widening at the unexpected turn of events.
A girl in the white witch attire, with her distinctive hat, blonde hair, and sapphire-blue eyes, emerged from a magic circle. "Are you guys okay?" She then turned to her comrades.
They breathed a sigh of relief. "Lavinia," they exclaimed, "thank goodness you're here."
"Who's that guy? What's he doing here?" Lavinia inquired.
"We don't know either. He suddenly entered the bar, and right away, we sensed a tremendous surge of magical power from him, even though he tried to suppress it. But we could still feel it." The brown-haired girl replied.
FLUSH
As they engaged in conversation, the ambiance shifted abruptly when the sound of rushing water echoed from the direction of the restroom, shattering the tranquility of the bar.
Their conversation faltered, replaced by a moment of tense silence as they exchanged puzzled glances. Lavinia, her brow furrowed with concern, turned to the rugged-looking waiter, seeking answers. "Kouki, did you ensure that all customers had left before closing?"
Kouki, his expression mirroring Lavinia's concern, nodded emphatically. "I swear, Lavinia. I double-checked before we ambushed that guy."
Despite their assurances, a sense of unease lingered in the air, thickening with each passing second as they contemplated the source of the unexpected disturbance.
"What?!"
Their eyes widened in disbelief as Naruto emerged from the restroom, his nonchalant demeanor contrasting sharply with the perplexed expressions of those gathered.
"Oh, for heaven's sake, can't a guy use the restroom in peace?" Naruto quipped, his tone laced with amusement as he casually wiped his hands with a tissue before tossing it into the bin.
His unexpected reappearance left them momentarily speechless, their earlier shock giving way to a mixture of bemusement and incredulity.
Among them, Lavinia was the most shocked. She had been certain just moments ago that she had frozen Naruto as he sat there.
'What! How did he manage to avoid Lavinia's freezing technique?!'
"How could you?!" She hurriedly thawed the layer of ice on Naruto's seat, and sure enough, there was no one there. Lavinia had only frozen empty air. Her disbelief was palpable as she turned to Naruto, her expression a mix of confusion and astonishment.
SHINE
SWOOSH
'A familiar? I don't think so'
The surprise wasn't over yet as a large black dog emerged from a magic circle behind the ex-exorcist. The dog carried a black blade with red runes in its mouth, attempting to ambush Naruto from behind.
SLASH
WOOSH
Of course, he was already aware of it. He teleported upwards and stood upside down on the ceiling.
'He's so fast!' The others watched in amazement as Naruto effortlessly evaded the attack, his agility and quick thinking evident.
SWOOSH
Once again, Naruto found himself under surprise attack, this time from a guy who appeared suddenly in front of him. The guy, around Naruto's age, had black hair and pale grey eyes, wielding a large scythe ready to strike at any moment.
"Technique Lapse: Blue."
DOON
"Huh?"
BREAK
"Tobi!"
"Tobio!"
Remaining remarkably calm, Naruto employed his technique. With an unseen force, he attracted the scythe-wielding man, causing him to be sent away and collide with the wall.
"Ugh!" The scythe-wielding man groaned in pain. The room fell silent, the tension palpable as everyone watched the unexpected turn of events.
"No way!"
"Even Tobi and Jin?!"
As Naruto stood there, his expression remained calm and collected, despite the flurry of unexpected events unfolding around him. The tension in the air was palpable as everyone tried to make sense of what just happened.
Lavinia's concern for Tobio was evident in her voice as she rushed to his side, her eyes reflecting a mix of worry and confusion.
"Tobi, are you okay?" she inquired, her voice tinged with urgency.
Meanwhile, Kouki and the other Black Dog Bar staff members exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of how to react to the sudden turn of events. The atmosphere in the bar had shifted dramatically, from one of casual conversation to one of apprehension and uncertainty.
Naruto, remained unfazed by the chaos unfolding around him. His eyes, hidden behind his sunglasses, betrayed none of the emotions swirling within him as he calmly assessed the situation.
"I'm fine, don't worry" Tobio, still reeling from the force of Naruto's counterattack, struggled to regain his composure as Lavinia helped him to his feet. His grip tightened on his scythe, his knuckles turning white with the effort to steady himself.
"So, now I'm being ambushed by five people, huh?" Naruto remarked, a wry smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Seems like my arrival here wasn't exactly well-received, but trust me, I'm just here to fill my stomach." Naruto's words cut through the tension like a knife, his tone casual yet tinged with a hint of amusement.
His nonchalant demeanor contrasted sharply with the intensity of the situation, but there was an undeniable charm in the way he carried himself. Despite the odds stacked against him, Naruto remained remarkably composed, as if he were simply chatting with old friends over a meal.
The others exchanged wary glances, unsure of how to respond to Naruto's unexpected candor. Lavinia, still by Tobi's side, couldn't help but be intrigued by the newcomer's demeanor. There was something about him that defied explanation, something that piqued her curiosity and made her want to learn more.
Kouki, ever the pragmatist, broke the uneasy silence with a nervous chuckle. "Well, we certainly didn't expect this turn of events," he admitted, his voice tinged with a mixture of relief and uncertainty. "But hey, as long as you're not here to cause trouble, you're welcome to stay and enjoy the food."
Naruto nodded appreciatively, his gaze sweeping over the group with a sense of camaraderie. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind," he replied, his smile widening. "And who knows, maybe we'll even become fast friends by the end of the night."
Tobio, spoke directly to Naruto, his voice tinged with a mixture of apology and caution.
"I apologize for the actions of myself and my friends just now," he began, his tone earnest. "But you have to understand, it's not every day that someone with your level of strength walks through those doors. Most of our patrons are ordinary humans, so we were caught off guard and, well, a bit apprehensive about what might happen."
Naruto nodded in understanding, his expression sympathetic. "I get it," he replied, his voice calm and reassuring. "No hard feelings. I know I must have seemed like a bit of a wild card showing up out of the blue like this."
Tobio smiled gratefully, relieved by Naruto's understanding. "Thank you," he said sincerely.
Naruto chuckled softly, a playful glint in his eyes. "Don't worry, I'll behave myself. Besides, I'm more interested in enjoying some good food and company than causing any trouble."he reassured them, his tone light.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki, a former exorcist from the Vatican. I came to Japan in search of freedom and a little vacation. But please, don't lump me in with those stray exorcists. They're a bunch of idiots who got labeled as strays for their criminal deeds. Whereas I resigned from the Exorcist Order." Naruto continued, introducing himself with a friendly smile.
Tobio and his colleagues listened intently, nodding in understanding as Naruto explained his background. "Got it," Tobio replied, his tone respectful. "We'll make sure to treat you with the respect you deserve"
Naruto flashed them a grateful smile, appreciative of their understanding. "Thanks," he said warmly. "I appreciate that. And I'm looking forward to enjoying my time here at the Black Dog Bar."
Tobio continued the introductions, gesturing to each of his colleagues as he spoke. "My name is Tobio Ikuse, the owner of this bar. They're my friends"
Next, the blonde-haired, sapphire-eyed girl introduced herself. "I'm Lavinia Reni, the bar manager."
Then, the rugged-looking man stepped forward, still wearing a slightly displeased expression. "I'm Kouki Samejima, waiter and security."
Following him was the waitress who had conversed with Naruto earlier. "My name is Natsume Minagawa, and I apologize for earlier!" She bowed apologetically.
Lastly, the quiet blonde girl with heterochromia, her right eye blue and her left eye black, introduced herself calmly. "I'm Shigune Nanadaru, and I handle dishwashing duties."
Naruto nodded in acknowledgment, appreciating the effort they made to make him feel welcome. "Nice to meet you all," he said with a friendly smile. "I look forward to getting to know each of you better during my time here."
Naruto look around the bar interior."So, this bar was built with a specific purpose in mind? Are you affiliated with a particular faction or are you an independent group?" he inquired further.
Tobio nodded, confirming Naruto's suspicions. "Well, we were called the Slash Dog team. We work as agents under the auspices of Grigori. And this bar was constructed by the Governor of Fallen Angels, Azazel. Its purpose is to oversee several areas in Tokyo and Japan," he replied.
Naruto absorbed this information, realizing that he had stumbled upon a place with deeper connections than he initially thought. "I see. Thank you for sharing that with me," he responded, his curiosity piqued.
"How about you?" Tobio inquired, curiosity etched on his face as he leaned slightly forward, awaiting Naruto's response.
Naruto leaned back in his chair, his gaze wandering momentarily before he answered. "Well, as I mentioned earlier," he began, his tone casual yet tinged with a hint of solemnity, "I resigned from the Exorcist Order. That means I'm no longer bound by anything or anyone. I represent myself."
The dim light in the bar cast shadows across Naruto's features as he spoke, adding a mysterious aura to his words. His companions exchanged glances, silently acknowledging the weight of his decision.
Tobio nodded thoughtfully, processing Naruto's words. "I see," he murmured, his expression unreadable. "It takes courage to walk your own path, especially in a world filled with uncertainty."
Naruto offered a small smile in response, appreciating Tobio's understanding. "Indeed," he agreed, a sense of determination underlying his words. "But sometimes, it's the only way to truly find oneself."
The atmosphere in the bar seemed to shift, the air tinged with a mixture of respect and curiosity as Naruto's declaration lingered in the space between them.
"Umm, excuse me. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how were you able to evade all of our attacks?" Natsume's curiosity broke the silence that followed, her eyes fixed on Naruto with genuine interest.
Kouki, nodding in agreement with Natsume's inquiry, with a furrowed brow. "Yeah, especially when the bullet stopped right in front of your head. I was certain it would hit you."
The others in the group, including Tobio, Lavinia, and Shigune watched Naruto expectantly, eager to hear his explanation. The air in the bar was charged with anticipation as they awaited his response, each member of the group intrigued by Naruto's mysterious abilities.
"My Sacred Gear's abilities is actually quite simple, but its quite complicated. So, I will explain it concisely and easy to understand" Naruto took a moment to gather his thoughts, considering the best way to explain his abilities in a concise manner.
"It is called Limitless," he began, his voice steady as he spoke. "Its power revolves around manipulating space, essentially bringing the concept of Infinity into the reality. With this ability, I can teleport and create an invisible space to protect myself from harm."
He paused briefly, wanting to ensure everyone understood the distinction. "And it's important to note that despite its formidable capabilities, Limitless doesn't fall under the Longinus class." With that, he concluded his explanation, allowing the group to absorb the information he had shared.
Tobio nodded, absorbing Naruto's explanation with keen interest. "So, does that also include how you suddenly made me hit the wall?," he remarked, a hint of awe evident in his voice as he recalled the earlier incident.
"Exactly," Naruto affirmed, his tone matter-of-fact yet tinged with a hint of pride. "I manipulated the distance between your body and the wall, then forced that distance to become zero or nullified it altogether, causing you to be inexplicably drawn and collide with the wall."
As Naruto finished his explanation, a sense of wonder washed over the group, each member processing the implications of Naruto's extraordinary abilities. It was a revelation that defied logic and left them in awe of the unseen forces at play.
Naruto's revelation left the group speechless, their eyes widening in amazement as he unveiled the secrets behind his formidable powers. "Not only that," he continued, his voice resonating with a sense of pride and mystery, "but I am also blessed with these eyes."
With a subtle gesture, Naruto revealed a pair of striking blue eyes hidden behind his sunglasses, their ethereal glow captivating the onlookers.
"They're called Six Eyes," he explained, his tone tinged with reverence. "A rare Sub Sacred Gear that emerges only once every four hundred years. These eyes serve as a complement to Limitless, enhancing my control over energy and magical techniques, enhancing my sensory abilities, processing information at lightning speed directly to my brain, deciphering and identifying my opponent's magical techniques, and much more. You could say it's a kind of cheat."
As Naruto concluded his explanation, a sense of wonder enveloped the group, each member realizing the magnitude of Naruto's extraordinary gifts and the extent of his prowess in the realm of magic.
"Damn," Kouki exclaimed, his eyes widening in awe as he leaned forward slightly. "With all that power at your disposal, it's as if you're transcending mortal limits and reaching godlike status."
Naruto nodded modestly, acknowledging Kouki's remark. "It's not about becoming a god," he replied, his tone thoughtful. "It's about utilizing these abilities responsibly and for the greater good. After all, power alone doesn't define a person's worth."
Tobio and the others nodded in agreement, their expressions a mixture of admiration and respect. They were beginning to grasp the true extent of Naruto's capabilities and the burden that came with wielding such immense power.
"So, how about you guys?" Naruto's tone was friendly, inviting them to share a glimpse of their own stories. His eyes, behind the tinted lenses of his sunglasses, sparkled with interest as he awaited their replies.
Tobio's voice carried a hint of pride as he began to explain his Sacred Gear. "My Sacred Gear is one of the Longinus-class," he began, his tone measured yet confident.
"It's called Canis Lykaon. Perhaps you've heard of it?" He glanced at Naruto, gauging his reaction before continuing. "Its power lies in producing blades from shadows. The Black Hound that attacked you earlier was a manifestation of Canis Lykaon." There was a sense of reverence in his words, a testament to the significance of his Sacred Gear within their world.
Naruto's expression shifted to one of interest, his chin resting thoughtfully on his hand. "Hmm, nice," he mused, his tone contemplative. "I'm actually quite familiar with Longinus-class Sacred Gears. Back when I was with my team, I had two friends who were also Longinus Sacred Gear users." He paused, a flicker of respect in his eyes as he continued.
"I prefer not to mention their names out of respect for their privacy." There was a sense of camaraderie in his words, a shared bond among those who wielded such powerful artifacts.
"Don't worry, we understand" Tobio reassured him.
Lavinia stepped forward, "Well, i guess it's my turn now" her voice calm yet confident as she began to explain. "Just like Tobi, my Sacred Gear also falls under the Longinus class. It's called Absolute Demise." There was a hint of pride in her tone as she spoke, a testament to the power she wielded.
Naruto's eyes widened slightly, his interest piqued by Lavinia's confirmation. "Ah, The Eternal Ice Princess, right?" he echoed, recalling the infamous title associated with her Sacred Gear. "The one capable of freezing anything?"
Lavinia nodded, a hint of surprise flickering across her features. "Yeah, you're right," she replied, her tone tinged with admiration for Naruto's knowledge. "Honestly, I was quite surprised that you managed to escape from my ice magic. I was so certain that I had captured you within my frozen grasp." Her words held a note of respect for Naruto's resilience, despite the initial setback she had faced.
Naruto chuckled softly, his amusement evident in his tone. "Well, everyone has different levels of vigilance," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of playfulness. "It's just that mine happens to be on a different level, thanks to my eyes." His words carried a sense of confidence, reflecting his trust in the unique abilities bestowed upon him.
Natsume spoke next, her voice carrying a sense of pride as she introduced herself. "As for me, Kouki, and Shigune," she began, her gaze shifting between her companions, "we possess Sacred Gears that are manifestations of the Sacred Beasts known as the Four Fiends." She paused momentarily, allowing her words to sink in before continuing.
"Mine is called the Fiend of Deviousness, Kyuuki. Its form takes that of a hawk with power lies in controlling the wind." Her explanation was concise yet filled with a sense of reverence for the abilities bestowed upon her.
"Yeah, I noticed that. Your bullets were imbued with wind affinity, but they were still too slow." Naruto responded casually, his tone betraying a hint of amusement.
Then, Naruto looked at Kouki. The delinquent guy then proceeded to explain his.
"Mine is the Fiend of Ignorance, Toukotsu. Its form takes that of a saber-toothed tiger. Its power lies in manipulating electricity, enhancing both movement and speed, as well as self-healing." He spoke with a hint of pride, eager to share his abilities with Naruto and the others.
Naruto smiled, closing his eyes. "Interesting. You know? This is the first time I've met someone as fast as you. Since your surprise attack, I've been able to ascertain that you're a formidable fighter." His words carried a sense of respect, acknowledging Kouki's skills in combat.
Kouki chuckled, his voice carrying a hint of confidence. "Huh, I can be even faster than that." His response was accompanied by a confident grin, indicating his belief in his own abilities.
And last, the heterochromic girl, with a serene expression, Shigune explained her Sacred Gear. "Mine is the Fiend of Gluttony, Toutetsu. Its form manifests as four horned and masked beasts. True to its namesake, its power lies in devouring anything, be it monsters or magic. It's considered one of the most difficult Sacred Gears to control and master." Her tone was calm yet tinged with a hint of solemnity, indicating the challenges she faced with her unique ability.
Naruto chuckled nervously. "Well, that sounds quite daunting. No wonder it's so difficult to control and master." His tone was lighthearted, but there was a hint of genuine admiration for Shigune's power.
As he listened to the explanations of their Sacred Gears, Naruto couldn't help but ponder. 'Devour anything includes magic? I wonder if it can devour Infinity?' The thought lingered in his mind, sparking his curiosity further.
After hearing about them, Naruto realized that there were still many mysteries surrounding Sacred Gears in the vast world. It dawned on him that there might be thousands, or even more, Sacred Gears out there, each possessing powers that could potentially surpass his own.
"So, what's your plan after this?" Tobio inquired, his tone tinged with a mixture of curiosity and concern, prompting Naruto to ponder his next moves in this labyrinth of the supernatural.
"Japan stands as one of the epicenters of the supernatural world. Here, you'll encounter devils, angels, fallen angels, youkai, gods, magicians, stray devils, and more. You need to be prepared for all eventualities, including the worst-case scenario of being hunted or killed." His words carried a weight of solemnity.
"Well, to be honest, I haven't thought about it yet. For now, I just want to find a place to crash for some much-needed rest. Flying for 12 hours can really drain you, you know?" His words carried a hint of fatigue, underscoring the weariness that came with a lengthy journey.
Tobio and the others were taken aback by Naruto's response, expecting him to express concern about the potential dangers. However, given Naruto's extraordinary abilities and power, his nonchalant attitude was understandable.
"Ah, a place to crash, huh? Well, as luck would have it, the bar has a room belonging to one of the staff who's currently away in Kyoto. You can use it." Lavinia chuckled casually, her tone relaxed as she said. Her offer carried a sense of hospitality, welcoming Naruto to make himself at home in their midst.
"Well, thank you. I really appreciate it. It feels good to be accepted by kind-hearted folks like you." Naruto responded with gratitude, his tone sincere as he said. His smile was warm and genuine, reflecting his genuine appreciation for their hospitality.
