Hello, everyone. So, this is my first Izuku AU story. I did some research by reading some other Izuku AU fics, and I thought that this would be the perfect way to start its first draft. Enjoy.
Chapter 1
The Pod with Two Cuffs
Not all men are born equal. Especially for those who didn't have a Quirk.
Izuku Midoriya, the only son of Inko and Hisashi Midoriya, was excited about the day that he will know what will his Quirk be. However, he learned the dark side of not getting one: A telltale sign that turned his life upside down.
"Doctor! There has to be a mistake!" Inko cried. "I and my husband had gained our Quirks! Why can't my son have a Quirk?"
The Quirk doctor showed Inko the x-ray test. "You see ma'am, your son's toe has two joints in his pinky toe, which is a sign that he can't get one. However, people without this are born with a Quirk gene." The doctor explained. "I'm very sorry, kid. But you just have to accept what's coming."
It hit Izuku for the first time in his life. His dreams were now crushed for the better.
On the car ride back to the Midoriya apartment, Izuku didn't even said a word when he arrived. All the poor kid did is head to his room. A few hours later, a worried Inko entered her son's bedroom and asked. "Izuku?"
"Mom…" the young boy turned around, with a depressed smile and teary eyes as he pointed to his computer showing an All Might video. "Can… I still be a Hero?"
It was her turn this time, as Inko ran to her son and hugged him with regret. "Izuku! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"

About a year later, it was Izuku's fifth birthday. Normally, birthdays are supposed to make are supposed to be big and special, but not for Izuku, since he knew that no one will ever come and celebrate his birthday with him. They would never hang out with someone that is Quirkless. Luckily, the only people that were with him on his birthday were his parents.
"Happy birthday, Izuku!" they both cheered. Inko took a photo. "Come on, Izuku, blow out your candles and we can start eating." Izuku smiled and blew out his candles.
"Good job, son!" Hisashi said happily. "What did you wish for?"
"That I could be a hero one day," Izuku stated. "Even if I'm Quirkless, I always wished that I could be a hero!" he said in full joy.
"If that ever happens, Izuku, just remember that we will support you no matter what." Hisashi encourage. "Now while your mother will get some plates for the cake, there's something I wanted to show you."
Izuku was surprised by this. And he knows what will be the answer. "Is it a present? Where is it?" he was excited.
"Now hold on now, son." Hisashi chuckled. "I know that you're excited, but you'll never know what's inside the present if you keep asking questions. So just wait for a minute." Hisashi grabbed a small green wrapped box and handed it to his son. "Go on, open it." He watched as he smiled.
Izuku ripped off the gift wrapping and opened his present. To his surprise, the young boy's face shifted to a surprising look with beaming eyes. "No way! Are these the limited edition All Might wristbands?"
"Yep," Hisashi answered. "I figured that you love the guy so much, I thought giving something that will be close to you will be better than an action figure. Plus, that was the last one in stock." Hisashi explained, while his son puts on the bracelets. "Well, do you like them?"
Izuku put them on and adore them so much. "I love them! It's like All Might's going to protect me all day!" he hugged his father tightly. "Thank you so much, dad! This is the best gift ever!"
Hisashi chuckled lightly and hugged him back. "I love you too, son." They both let go. "Now come on, let's go get ourselves a slice of cake. Wouldn't that sound nice?"
"Mmhmm!" Izuku nodded in agreement. As Inko arrived with some plates, the family began eating the cake.

14 years have passed and Izuku's life hasn't changed a bit, except for the fact that he is planning to go and study at UA High, the most prestigious school for the future Pro Heroes. However, when a single mention of his name was heard throughout the classroom, it turned the classroom into making him a laughing stock.
"Midoriya? Going to UA? That's hilarious!" a green-eyed girl said.
"Seriously, Midoriya! Just stop already! The only thing that's funnier is you going to UA!" a male student laughed, along with his friends.
Before Izuku could defend himself, he was met with an explosion to the desk. "DEKU!" Katsuki Bakugo's voice roared in pure anger and hate, causing the green-haired to fall of his seat. "Don't try to make me laugh, 'cause it's not funny! I already told you to stop trying to get ahead of me!"
"I-I-I wasn't," Deku replied. "I just only wanted to follow my dreams and –"
"Shut the hell up, Deku!" the ash-blonde interrupted. "A Quirkless being like you shouldn't go to UA! YOU'RE ONLY GOING TO GET YOURSELF KILLED IF YOU EVER TRY!"
"Okay, okay. That's enough, now class." The teacher said nonchalantly. "Now let's get back to where we left off from yesterday's lesson…" as the teacher kept talking, Izuku got back to his seat and can hear a few of his classmates snickering at him.
As class ended, with everyone leaving, Izuku was the only one in the classroom watching a recent villain attack that was stopped by Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods. Izuku decided to that it was time for him to go, but he was encountered by two of Katsuki's cronies that were blocking him.
Then, Katsuki stepped behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Stay." He forced him.
"I-I'm fine. I-I was just – " Eventually, he noticed that his grip was firm and hard, causing Izuku to yelp as he stopped. Katsuki grabbed Izuku's notebook and he exploded it, causing Izuku to be horrified at what he saw.
"Don't you ever show your face in UA, you hear me?!" He started to threaten. "The one thing that I hate is you showing up, and trying your best to get in! Besides, those stupid bracelets you have on you make you look like an idiot! Do me a favor, and take a swan dive off the roof. Maybe it might give you a Quirk in your next life!" Katsuki was insulted, and his friends laughed. As the three left, Izuku felt like he was defeated.
Eventually, he head to the river and grabbed his wet, slightly burnt notebook. He groaned in frustration. "I just don't know why people are like this to me. I didn't even do anything wrong." He asked himself. "Maybe he's right, if I jumped off a building then… No! Come on, Izuku. You can think better than that!" he stopped himself from thinking the worse.
He looked at his wristband-covered hand and said to himself. "You were always with me when I was scared. It's like All Might is protecting me all day."

Accepting defeat, Izuku decided to head home by passing by the alleyway. Unknown to him, a slimy creature from behind began lurking the green-haired boy, making him happy with his sight. "Hmm… He's perfect!"
The sludge villain began sneaking his way behind Izuku, as he began to attack him by covering him with his own slimy body. The latter tried calling for help, but he couldn't. "Relax, boy! This will be all over soon, once I start taking your body until you die!"
Izuku tried fighting back but decided to accept defeat since he's nothing but a Defenseless Izuku. A Quirkless being with no hopes of having a dream. "I'm… I'm dying? If I only I lived longer, I wish I could say sorry to you, Mom…"
Then, a loud heroic voice boomed around the alleyway. A tall muscular man with blonde hair and a hearty smile appeared. "Fear not, young man! For… I am here!"
Izuku couldn't believe his own eyes. It was All Might.
The hero himself yelled aloud with an attack. "Texas… SMASH!" A powerful wind was emitted when he punched through it, causing the Sludge Villain to disappear in defeat, and also freeing Izuku from getting killed. Izuku began coughing, as the hero walked over to him. "Are you alright, young man?"
Izuku stood up really quick, as a sign of being fine. "A-All Might!" he was shocked.
"HAHAHA! I take it that you're fine!" All Might said with relief. "I also notice that you want an autograph. No worries, it's a pleasure to meet a fan! Let me sign that for you!" he scribbled his name on Izuku's notebook. "Here."
Izuku was happy to see this in his notebook. "Wow… Thank you, All Might!"
"Don't mention it. Well, I best better be going now and take this villain back to the police." He showed him the bottled sludge villain. "Watch yourself also. Now watch… AS I GO!"
With one boost of airlifting him up into the sky, All Might couldn't help but feel something strange. He looked down and noticed – "W-WHAT THE?!" Izuku suddenly strapped himself onto his leg. "Kid, let go! This is very dangerous, so please let go!"
"But if I do that, I might fall and die!" Izuku interjected.
All Might realized what he said. "Oh, right! Forgot about that! Let's get to a rooftop!" The two landed on the rooftop safely. "Now that this is over, all I can say is that what you did was very reckless!"
"I'm sorry, All Might. I just have a question to ask you." Izuku cut himself to the point. "Do… Do you think a Quirkless person like me… can be a hero?"
After a moment of silence, the Symbol of Peace replied to his question. "No. They cannot, young man." This almost made Izuku faint. "I'm sorry kid, but there's no way that a Quirkless person can ever be a hero. It's likely impossible! However, taking a job in the police force might do you well, but it won't be the same as being a hero. Anyway, I need get going. Goodbye now!" All Might started to leave.
Meanwhile, Izuku was left behind on the rooftop, realizing what he just heard. "That's it…" he sounded completely broken. "T-That was the last of my hope, and now it's all gone and wasted." He began to tear up at his broken hope, "I guess people like me don't have a chance in this world…" he solemnly stated.

Later, Izuku got down from the building and start heading back home from the city he is in, depressed and dejected. He tried everything that he got on his sleeve and nothing. But the one thing that really struck him most that his idol, All Might, telling him that he can't be a hero without a Quirk.
It hit him harder than an incoming truck.
"What's the point if I just show the world that I can be a hero without a Quirk. It'll only just make me look like a laughing stock." Izuku admittedly stated to himself. He sighed, "I know I should've just stopped letting my dreams go up and just give up instead… Huh?"
A green glowing light suddenly got Izuku's attention as he walked over by the alleyway near him. The young boy walks by to the dumpster to see the glowing object: A glowing pod.
"What are you…" Izuku was curious as he reached out his hand to the mysterious object but immediately stopped himself. "Wait, I can't just open this. I have to report this to the police, or to the Pro Heroes. They'll know what to –" He heard a couple of sirens and explosions from afar, which got Izuku to think back.
"… maybe one peek wouldn't hurt, then I'll just deliver it to the police and head back home." Izuku reached his hand on the pod and tried to find its opening by rubbing his hand on it. Then, all of the sudden, his hand pressed a button which opened the pod's hatch letting its air all out until its all cleared. The young boy was surprised to see what was inside it.
It was a pair of advanced technological wrist cuffs. Its appearance looked sleek and alien-like, something that the Support Item Department had never made for Pro Heroes today.
"Incredible!" Izuku was amazed. "I wonder if they… What the…" the cuffs activated on their own, as it began to latch on Izuku's hands. "Huh – Hey! W-What's happening?!" he tried to get rid of them, but unfortunately, the cuffs are too impossible to get rid of as they tightly locked themselves to his wrists.
Once the cuffs are now done with its sudden attachment, Izuku observed them with a mix of worry. He didn't want this to happen to begin with. All he did was open it and now this happens.
As if he's been through enough.
"As if I've been through enough…" Izuku groaned. The next thing that he did is he tried to find a way to get rid of them, by pulling one cuff from his right, which looked like they are permanently stuck onto his wrists. Izuku tried his best to pull it out, regardless of it being stuck.
"Come on… Let go…" Izuku started to get frustrated by the cuffs. "I don't even want these cuffs…!"
Suddenly, he let out a painful 'Ahh!' from his mouth, as he felt the cuffs giving him a painful sensation which is a mix of electricity and knives touching through his skin. And since his pulse is located on his wrists, it's starting to make Izuku blackout.
"… Ugh…" is all that Izuku can say, as his eyes closed and a loud thud was heard.
000000
"Ugh… My head hurts… Wait… Where am i?"
"He's waking up!"
"Wait… Mom? What's going on…?"
Izuku asked himself. He opened his eyes to see it for himself, only for his vision to be adjusted to the light for a few seconds. Once that was settled, he learned now that Izuku is in a hospital room, and he is in a hospital bed. Surprisingly, he was met by a doctor and his mom.
"Izuku!" Inko cried out. "I was so worried about you!"
"What…" he stammered in confusion. "What happened?"
"Before I asked you what happened young man, tell me; Did you remember how you ended up here?" the doctor asked.
"Not really…" Izuku answered, trying to remember. "My head feels fuzzy."
"You don't remember what happened?" Inko asked in disbelief. "That's impossible!"
"Come on, young man. Surely there must be something that you remember that put on a hospital bed." The doctor stated.
Izuku tried his to remember. He remembered that he was suddenly knocked out by a pair of… Those cuffs! They were the cause that put him in a coma. "I remember now! There was a pair of cuffs, and I accidentally touched it! And –
"Slow down, kid. You just woke up." The doctor reminded, and Izuku stopped. "To explain what happened to you Izuku, the cause of you passing out in an alleyway is likely to be the cause of you having low blood pressure, and a possible stroke."
Izuku looked at his wrists and noticed that the cuffs are now gone. "I don't understand… There was a pod and I opened it. That's how I got these cuffs."
"What cuffs? When the paramedics arrived, they didn't see a pod or cuffs in the dumpster. Even the student that called them said she didn't say anything." The doctor noted. "Tell me, how did you pass out?"
"I saw two cuffs latched into my arms and they were hard to get rid of, and the next thing that happened is those cuffs did something on my arms. It was like a knife going through my skin." Izuku explained at his best. "Just look at my wrists, they're… Huh?"
What he saw right now is that he doesn't have those weird cuffs from the pod. All he saw is a pair of All Might wristbands he got when he was a kid.
"Well, I'm sorry, Izuku, but there doesn't seem to be cuffs on your wrists or anything of those that caused you to get into a heat stroke." The doctor simply said. "You're just suffering the effects of heatstroke, which is confusion. Don't worry, it won't last forever."
"What?" he sounded in denial. "That's impossible. I saw those cuffs got into my wrists." Izuku felt like this was all a dream, but it wasn't. He saw those cuffs go on his wrists, and now they're gone and it looked impossible to look at.
Then his mind jolted. It was like a reminder. "Wait! H-How long was I out?"
"Two weeks." Inko sadly responded. Izuku was shocked to hear that, with the doctor nodding in agreement.
"T-Two weeks?!" Izuku stuttered.
"Yes, and I understand that… this is a lot for you to process." The doctor reassured calmly. "But on the bright side, we contacted the school you study at and they said they you can get some rest until you're fully recovered."
"Well, I'm just glad that my son is safe and alright." Inko hugged her son and let go. "I would like to release my son in the hospital, doctor."
"Certainly." The doctor escorted her out. "We can file in the release forms, but it might take a while for it to be noticed."
"Wait!" Izuku yelled out. "You have to understand! I saw two cuffs on my wrists and they're stuck! This sounded impossible! I saw what I saw. Can you run another test to see if I'm right? Please, I'm telling the truth." He begged.
"I'm sorry, Izuku, but there are no cuffs on your wrists when you got here. I think you might have had a nightmare when you were in a coma. But again, don't worry about it." The doctor apologized as he left.
"Don't worry Izuku, once you get off here, I'll make your favorite dish for dinner." Inko smiled to calm her son. "Now I'll be right back, so stay for a while, honey."
As Inko left the room, Izuku sighed and looked at his wrists. He wasn't crazy, to begin with.
"Maybe it was from the heat…" Izuku admitted to himself.

At the Midoriya apartment, Izuku and Inko both came in as they settled back into their lovely home. The young boy was ordered to just rest and wait for dinner once it did, which he understood. After a few hours later, dinner is done, and the two Midoriyas are now eating a delicious bowl of Katsudon.
Inko asked. "So, how is it? Same as always?"
Izuku swallowed one spoonful of his meal and responded with a satisfied smile. "Well, it was the same as it was. Glad I was able to eat something after two weeks." He chuckled lightly.
Inko chuckled back. "Well, I'm just glad that you're awake, safe, and sound. It's such a shame that no one didn't bother to meet you, except for a few of your classmates."
"And Kacchan?" Izuku asked quickly.
"Oh, that Bakugo kid. He did visit you once and never came back. Although, he took so long to be in there. Luckily, his parents were there to keep you company." Inko noted. "Also, your father's coming back from the states."
"Dad's coming back?!" Izuku's expression shifted to an excited one. But it dropped to a worried look. "Wait, this doesn't have to be that I was in a coma, right?"
"Oh, it's not that, dear. Sure, he may know it, but there was something else." Inko reassured.
"Really?" Izuku's mouth was full of food until he swallowed it. "Then what is it?"
"You see, your father's planning to open his plans for a business dream his been waiting for. He said he's going to set it up in the same place we live in. He even worked hard enough to get all the documents ready and materials to get started." Inko explained, with a proud look on her face. "He also said that he really wants to see you when he gets back, Izuku. Aren't you proud about that?"
"I am actually, yeah. I miss dad too, and it sure will be nice to see him." Izuku replied as he finished his bowl. Inko's phone vibrated on the coffee table to hear as she grabbed it to see what she has, only for her to look surprised. "Something wrong, mom?"
"Your father landed already!" Inko announced, making Izuku confused. He didn't even tell her that it was this soon! "I need to pick him up right now. Can you wash these for me?" she placed her empty bowl on his.
"Don't worry, mom. I can handle this." Izuku noted.
"Remember sweetie, don't push yourself. You just got out from a coma." Inko grabbed her coat once again and her shoes. "I'll see you when we get back. Bye, Izuku."
"Bye, mom." As Inko left the apartment, Izuku began to wash the two bowls that they used. After all, it wasn't just two bowls that needed cleaning.
000000
Izuku was almost done with his errands, which consisted of their apartment room of theirs to be cleaned and left with no speck of dust or dirt. It took a lot of sweat and… well, sweat to clean everything from top to bottom from mopping the floors to set up the beds, but it was worth it. He wanted to let his father see their beloved home clean.
Inko was lucky to raise a son like him.
Now all Izuku has to do is collect all the garbage inside the bag and throw it into the dumpster outside the apartment. However, it will be pretty tiresome to do since he lives on the fourth floor of the apartment, while he needs to get to the back of the said building to throw away the trash.
"Last part in the chore list: Dumping the trash." Izuku let out his breath. "Finally, I can rest after all this."
Right before he could place the bag, his eyes widened in a surprise and bit of an annoyed look. The dumpster was filled with other garbage bags that didn't create a strong, foul odor. It was odd, but the dumpster being full is not odd.
"Okay, Izuku, you know what to do when stuff like this happens: Just push it in." Izuku placed the bag and pushed it all the way as best as he could. But due to his scrawny stature, he couldn't even push it with all his force.
"Come on! Get in there!" Izuku groaned and pushed the best he could. He kept pushing it in as hard as he can until he gave up. "Just. Get. In. There!"
Suddenly, Izuku pushed as hard as he can the garbage bags were almost flattened by his force. He sighed and covered the dumpster's cover. But before he could let go, he instantly saw something that wasn't his and was beyond normal.
His arms. He looked at them and noticed that his arms now transformed into a pair of bionic robotic ones. They even looked sleek and it was like his arms were made with advanced and sleek technology. He almost looks like a car.
Izuku started to gawk, looking at his arms over and over to see if he isn't dreaming. "My arms! B-B-But how?!" he stammered, as the bionic arms transformed back to its original form: The wrist bands.
Izuku stared at his long-time birthday gift. "I-It can be! It really can't be! I wasn't crazy after all!" he was right. "Those cuffs did something to me! It must have given me these bionic arms… for a Quirk, right?"
Ah yes, the million-dollar question: If those cuffs gave him a Quirk, or did the cuffs become his Quirk in general.
"What if I…" he clenched his fist, and the bionic arms are back. "Woah!" his arms began to shake, which made them transform back. "Amazing!" he transformed them back again, and observed his arms.
He grabbed the dumpster's lid with a powerful grip that left some dents when they let go. "The arms have super strength?!" he exclaimed excitedly. "What else do I have?"
His curiosity stopped when he heard an aggressive growl. Izuku turned around to see a stray dog, growling at him like it was a wild animal. Izuku tried to be calm, "N-Nice, doggy…?"
The dog began to run after him, only for Izuku to block it with his arm in the air. Since his arms are bionic, his reached out right arm suddenly transformed into an offensive and powerful-looking blaster. The dog stopped its tracks and stared at it, while Izuku stopped cowering in fear and looked at his hand.
He was shocked like earlier. First, super strength, now a blaster!? "Woah…"
Eventually, his arm blaster fired an air blast to the ground BAM! causing the stray dog to run away from the apartment building.
"An arm blaster!?" he said in a mix of confusion and excitement, right after the blaster transformed back. "I wonder what's next!" he hoped.
Then behind his back, the same material from the bionic arms was transformed, but only around his shoulder blades. His back formed a pair of boosters as they activated, causing Izuku to hover from the ground quickly.
"I can fly, too?!" he checked his back to see where it was coming from. "With booster?!" he was now getting excited with the other ability. Once he landed, his back and arms transformed back to normal to the wrist bands.
The young boy pieced everything together in his mind. The bionic arms, the added super strength, the arm blaster, and the back boosters. Then he looked back to his wristbands.
"These bionic arms must have given me the abilities of a cyborg or some sort of military super-soldier! It gave me super strength, an arm blaster, and rocket boosters for my back, and it all came from those cuffs in the pod I saw in the alleyway! Could it be that those cuffs gave me…" he gasped. "A Quirk? But… that's impossible. Quirks only rely on genes and manifestations. At least everyone with Quirks knows that. But it felt like that I have one ever since I was out in a coma."
However, despite the deep self-analysis of his arms' abilities, he returned the same smile when he used them all. "But I have a Quirk! I can't believe my dream came true! I HAVE A QUIRK!" he yelled out in joy.
And that was the tale of how Izuku got his Quirk, in a different, slightly-possible, way. Also, this is like a part one for another chapter connected from the ending, so please wait patiently for it to come. Anyway, please review and I hope you love my story! Bye!
