AND I'M BACK! And did not give up on this story.
As I said once in my previous A/N, I will be going on a hiatus break to create some other stories that I'm working on, which also includes experimentation. And as you can see, my profile is almost packed with MHA fics that are either AUs or just normal basic fics like romantics and characters being focused outside Izuku Midoriya, because they deserved a chance, too.
Also, be warned, that this story will have SOME change, but it's not a lot. I only pick some ideas that are suited for the plot line itself. Also, this chapter will enter in yearly time-skip so also expect that too because there will be some chapters that will be originally made but will have some parts that are based on the canon. But right now, this chapter is an introduction to that yearly time skip. Don't worry, you might be invested in it. Especially to Izuku's personality and character.
Enjoy!
CHAPTER 6
Reality Change, Not Check
Izuku's eyes were glued to what he is watching, as it looked saddened and his frown turned into an agape one, making him look very shocked to what he was listening and watching to.
"I'm sorry, but you won't be part of UA."
The hologram form of All Might sadly declared after the Entrance Exam was finished and his results were delivered to his doorstep. He waited for a week to know he was qualified to be part of UA, but all he heard right now in his shocked expression is that he isn't part of it.
That's why all his answers will be revealed in the end of the hologram.
"As you may know, Young Izuku Midoriya." All Might started. "The entrance exam is responsible to monitor the students' skills, fighting capabilities, and the way how they use their Quirk throughout the entire day. Which is also something that we are too focused on since this is about your Quirk."
The hologram shifted to a video of Izuku's performance throughout the entire exam. "As you can see, how you fight the robots to earn villain points was beyond too different from the other students' Quirks. Not only you were able to earn those points, but somehow, according to them of course, your Quirk may be too powerful and you might be hiding it since you entered and registered last month."
The recordings now focused on Izuku's weapons from his arms. "They believed that your arms are the reason why your Quirk is making you earn a lot of points to begin with. Your arms, however, are considered the real Quirks behind this, and some believed it was just a Support Item to support your Bio Mass Quirk. They do not understand if your Quirk is the arms or your Bio Mass, but sadly, you're still not qualified."
Izuku's expression turned into a depressed state. "We also have seen you destroy a Zero-Pointer with your…. Quirk and as the proctor explained, the Zero-Pointer is considered not part of the test. Although, you did it because you were trying to save a student who was about to get crushed by it. However, because you destroyed a zero-pointer, you already lost your points. And to add to the teachers' theory, they also believed that your Quirk is confusing when it was put to action, so training you and said Quirk will give them a hard time."
"We hope that you can find another school to try out in that doesn't have exams, since they will just let you be enrolled once you apply. Rest assured, that once you contact us, we will only provide you with a short summary of your results and some choices for another school. We are very sorry if this news shocked you to the end but remember: We hope you do well in your next school. Goodbye, now!"
As the hologram ended, the room became dark again. Izuku gloomed after hearing the results of his exam. He works, trains, and fights all day and night to get into UA since it was his dream to become a hero since he has a Quirk that is a variant of his idol's most powerful Quirk.
Now it was all wasted. His hopes and dreams of becoming a hero were all put down in a trash bag and got tossed in a dumpster as they will never be seen again.
The dreams that he has been fighting for, are for nothing.
000000
On a rainy afternoon at the Midoriya Apartment, the Midoriya parents watched their son far away from the living area as he was watching another news report about a mysterious metallic-fisted hero fighting a monster villain. Their son was watching the news all fold with depressed eyes and a frown that wiped his good-hearted smile away.
And it was all because of his dreams not becoming a reality.
"His been there watching TV the entire afternoon after he left the room," Inko whispered to her husband. "Do you think it's because of the results he received from UA."
"Hmm…" Hisashi continued back to his paperwork as he spoke to her in a hushed tone as well. "Izuku said that UA won't accept him since his Quirk was considered confusing and impossible to train. I didn't see the results as well, but I can tell it didn't sound good at all."
"Maybe it's best if you talk to him about it. You're the only one here who always supports Izuku's dreams, even if it sounded worse." Inko said to her husband.
"No, we'll talk to him together." Hisashi put down the papers on the table and looked at his wife with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. Our son will understand soon when we tell him everything, okay?" Inko was skeptical about it, but she let out a soft smile and nodded at him.
As Izuku continued watching the end of the news report, his parents walked over to get their son his attention. "Um… Son, is it okay if we take your time for a while?" Hisashi asked.
"Sure, dad. Anything…" Izuku sounded sad but still sounded like he was polite. He lowered the TV's volume as his father sat down beside him, while his mother was still standing to watch.
"So… What's this about?" Izuku asked.
"Izuku…" he started as he placed his hand behind Izuku's back. "I know that you worked hard to get into UA ever since you met that trainer of yours. You worked hard every day and night and never gave up on your dream in the last ten months. And I'm proud of your commitment to do your best."
Then, Inko spoke. "Believe me when I say this Izuku, but I am proud of you for working hard to achieve your dream. But you need to understand, UA isn't the type of school for your Quirk. Remember, you manifested them last year and you were still getting used to it."
Izuku himself gripped the right wrist band from his arm. If only he saw that pod from the alleyway, none of this would've happened to begin with. He wouldn't have to waste his time training for nothing.
"Look, Izuku, you're just taking time to let all this pressure get into your head," Hisashi tried his best to explain. "I know you worked hard, and you didn't get accepted into that school, but it's not the end of the world yet. There is another chance for you to get into another school."
"And it's not too late to give up in your dreams yet, Izuku." Inko reassured with a concerned look. "You have a dream that you are committed to, and we don't want you to give up on them." She almost started to tear up. "Please, Izuku. Don't say that this is the end of your dream, we can still find a way."
"I don't think that's possible anymore."
Those were the words Izuku spoke out. His parents were surprised by what he said. Their son wasn't the one who will never give up his dream. He sounded different unlike who he really is.
"S-Son, what are you saying?" Hisashi was concerned at what he said, as his son faced him who was about to cry.
"I never had a Quirk to begin with! I should've listened to myself in the first place!" Izuku yelled as he wanted those words to ring in his head as he meant it. "I was never born with a Quirk, I never had the chance to prove to anyone that I can be a hero without them, and I should've just accepted reality. I was too stupid to believe them, that I got a Quirk and my dream was put for nothing!"
He hung his head down in pure sadness as he took some deep breaths to calm down, letting all his pain get out from his system and his heart. It only made his parents sad to see that their son was now accepting what he never had.
"I should've accepted that I was Quirkless in the first place," Izuku muttered.
He accepted one thing that would shatter his life in a matter of seconds if he did listen in the beginning: Accepting reality.
000000
Four years later…
"Two words to describe four years: It has passed and changed."
"Passed since that's how the years work: Years were counted as things were seen or built into existence. Although, there are some events that changed as well over the past five years. Which why we go to the word: Change."
"Things changed after four years. But we'll go to mine later once I explain everything."
"But to put it in short words, this is what happened and changed during those five years."
"The USJ in UA was attacked by villains, led by Tomura Shigaraki, along with a villain of theirs called Nomu, and it was all thanks to the efforts of Class 1A of UA High, and All Might as well."
"There were leads about the Hero Killer: Stain striking in the shadows on his hunt to kill the "false heroes" and prove to the world that he made a point. However, he has arrested thanks to some students during their internship program, but it gave the villains some motivation."
"Said villains, now called as the League of Villains, were formed by a man named All For One to capture their star student and make him join the villains, but in the end, All Might went in and stopped his archnemesis once and for all, where he also lost his Quirk in the first place."
"Every hero school around Japan participated in the annual Provisional Hero License Exam to prove to themselves that they are worth having those licenses for their future hero careers, despite it being too hard and difficult."
"A group of heroes-in-training in UA, their mentors, and other Pro Heroes formed a group together to locate and stop a villain named Overhaul, who is making Quirk-erasing bullets with a young girl with his he calls a "daughter", using her as his only source to create those bullets, but in the end, they were successful enough to put an end to the monster."
"All Might be retired ever since his final battle with All For One, which made Endeavor the new Number One Pro Hero of Japan. And during his debut as the new number one, he even defeated a High-End Nomu with the help of the Wing Hero: Hawks."
"The League tried to form an alliance with the revolution villain army called the Meta Liberation Army, where they only defeated the army on their own like it was nothing. And it was all led by their leader: A powerful Shigaraki."
"And lastly, a fight between the heroes and the villains happened after a failed attempt from the heroes when they tried to stop the Paranormal Liberation Front from starting their march to rise the villains and give All For One the chance to show himself. Although in the end, we all know what happens: Heroes win, villains lose."
"Those events changed the entire place of Japan, and the world itself, during those five years of hell and suffering, but there was always hoped by their side. They just had to wait for it to happen. With or without All Might, everything ended with things going back to normal."
"But now, let's all focus back to someone else for now: Izuku Midoriya. That's right. Me."
"The boy who didn't get into UA after he was considered 'too powerful to train' due to his One For All variant. Whatever happened to him after he didn't get accepted to UA? How was he then?"
"There was only one question that someone might ask me: Where are you now?"
000000
The school bell rang as the students at the well-known school in Musutafu, Mikusu High. Mikusu High is known for its gifted students, star athletes, and most of all: Anyone who has been studying there for a year or two before entering the hero course in their senior high years.
The school was mixed with different students from different backgrounds, but mostly it focuses on the students who either had Quirks or they are Quirkless. Whatever the case is, anyone is accepted to that school, and they are treated equally unless you count bullies and popular brats which the school itself tolerates.
In the cafeteria, a green-haired boy with less shaggy, unkempt hair was waiting in line to get some food for lunch. Once it was his turn, he grabbed himself a Capri sun and two wagyu burgers as he proceeded to pay it by the counter.
"That'll be 600 yen."
"I only got 700." The boy paid and received his change as he walked away to the tables to sit on. As he was walking by, a voice called him out that caught his attention.
"Hey, Izuku! Over here! Saved you a spot!"
"Alright, thanks!" the latter smiled as he walked his way to the boy that called him.
The less shaggy and unkempt-haired boy, wearing a school uniform was no other than Izuku Midoriya himself. Ever since he couldn't get accepted into UA, the only Midoriya boy managed to cope his entire life that his dreams were shattered due to him being not able to get into UA.
During those years of coping, he didn't need to go to therapy for it. All he had to do is just accept reality little by little since when All Might told once that he can't be a hero without a Quirk, it was about to get in his head. The young boy, however, started to cope with it for the entire month when that memory came back.
During this coping, he enrolled in Mikusu High since his father used to study there once, and another is that Setsuna's cousin was also one of the well-known students that became its champion in science and technology. While Izuku didn't mind that, he just accepted the school since it doesn't have to involve heroics.
Throughout his entire four-year study in Mikusu High, he didn't really make that many friends due to his stuttering and his very polite mannerisms. The students believed that his two fragile to mingle with him. And caused him to be a target of bullying and some harsh words due to his gifted intelligence.
But the young boy was able to handle those, as he practiced standing up for himself little by little and made some progress in that school, mainly on his grades and his record of not being a 'bad noodle' student type. However, he practice in standing up for himself caused him to be slightly awkward for a bit, but that's progress.
So far, this was his new life after those four years. Izuku became an excelling, confident, and slightly student that doesn't involve in heroics. It was just a normal, typical high school for a normal typical boy with a Quirk he's been hiding for those years.
"Tenko, since you saved me a spot, I also managed to get an extra burger for you as part of the agreement when you do this," Izuku smirked as he tossed a burger to his friend.
Tenko chuckled, "Well, it's better than eating the same, lame, rich food that my maid's always prepared." The latter sighed. "Just wish my dad can understand that I wanted to be a normal high school kid in a normal high school building."
"That's just a sign that your dad loves you, Tenko. You should know that by now." Izuku noted and took a bite from his burger.
"I doubt it still, buddy," Tenko mumbled as he grabs a bite from his. "Besides, you don't know how the word 'family' works in my life."
Tenko Shimura was just the other average type of teenager in a everyday high school life: The rich kid. His father was the owner and CEO of his company called Mamoru which creates Support Items for the heroes and military government around the nation of Japan. While it may sound overkill that a Support Company creates weapons for the military, his father thinks it's not.
Tenko had lived a difficult life. His father is always busy with work and never gives time to him and his sister Hana, who is already in college and is about to end in five months. And with his mother dead and his grandparents ignoring the father of the Shimura family for his attitude to his kids, Tenko can only say that his family left was his sister and his best friend: Izuku.
Also, one thing was added to his life and it was weird to begin with: A few people think that he almost looks like Tomura Shigaraki, who already died during the war against the heroes and villains. But they were just doing it because they were jealous that he is in a rich life.
"So, Izuku, got any plans for college? I mean, you do know that's the most important thing of all, right?" Tenko reminded. "Don't ask me the same thing… because you know where I'm gonna be soon."
"Actually, being a military pilot for the military isn't gonna be a good idea, Tenko." Izuku reminded sadly a bit. "I mean, your dad is being supported by the military, and vice versa, so I don't think you'll be good in piloting if he's around."
"Pssh, who says I need my dad's help? My old man never needed me when I'm around." Tenko taunted with a smile. "Besides, being a pilot is what I always dreamed of becoming. I always wanted to fly the skies with Hawks by my side. I mean, it could be a dream come true."
"Looks like the rich kid decided to write what he needs for his fan letter." Izuku joked a bit, causing Tenko to get nervous.
"H-Hey, I'll have you know how we met in the first place." Tenko reminded, me that only made Izuku laugh at his embarrassed expression.
He and Izuku met each other for the first time in a partner assignment for a history report, which went well and also sparked their friendship since they stayed in Tenko's room for the whole night.
"Anyway, now that I already told you about my part, let's go to yours now." Tenko declared. "But you don't have to say the whole thing, I heard that you have a Quirk where you saved that blonde guy from the streets four years ago, right?"
Izuku widened his eyes a bit. "I mean, you might be able to get into the hero course in college. It's basically the same thing, which is a normal entrance exam."
Izuku thought about it for a while. He remembered how made a lot of effort to get into the entrance exam and it all went for nothing in the end as he was no longer accepted due to his confusing Quirk and destroying a zero-pointer just to save someone's life.
Izuku narrowed his eyes a bit and take a deep breath. "You're right on that part, I have a Quirk that I just manifested four years ago. But I'm even planning to get into a hero course if I'm in college. I'm no longer after that."
Izuku continued. "I already accepted the fact that I can't be a hero without a Quirk, but since I still have my Quirk, my mind will always go to the part where I won't be a hero with it anymore. I rather get into normal life once I'm done with college."
Tenko listened to his friend's entire reasoning and smiled. "Well, as someone would say to you: Whatever it is you choose, you'll be supported by it. I get it that you don't want to be a hero anymore. And no one is forcing you to be one again. You already made your choice."
Izuku smiled back, at least his best friend understands. "Thanks, Tenko. I needed that."
"Hey now, I don't really want to go all soft all day, I just said that because my grandfather told me," Tenko reassured, trying to be cool. "Anyway, let's get back to class. We might be late for the third period."
000000
After a long lecture on astronomy for half an hour, Izuku left the school as he took a ride going back home to his apartment, while his best friend took a limo ride heading back home. With that all said, Izuku yawned a little, knowing that today was a boring day like usual in every other class.
As he got out of the train, Izuku was seeing a lot of posters from left to right and it didn't even bother nor excite him to the very least, but he was smiling at them. The posters were about the heroes that stopped the war with all their efforts. He heard that half of them were gone due to how brutal All For One's forces were.
He saw a poster as he stopped walking. The poster consisted of Endeavor doing the signature pose that he did when defeated the High-End Nomu a year back. The words saying from top to bottom: "THE HEROES OF JAPAN WON"
Izuku frowned a bit. "Shame that he died when he fought All For One by himself." He started to walk again to get home. Then, he had a thought in his head that made him smile.
"Guess Kacchan got his wish. He deserved it. He's gonna be a great hero one day." Then, his smile drops to a small frown. "I just wish I were a hero. Not just like Kacchan, but like the other heroes, too. Even Tokage. If only life gave me chance, but it didn't."
He had a point. If only life treated him like he has some potential, he could've saved the world with his One For All variant, which he still has in him for four years. He never did anything with it but did some chores using them secretly behind his parent's back while they were busy with the coffee business.
Once Izuku entered the apartment, the landlord noticed him and reached Izuku a letter. "Hey, Izuku. It's been a month already, so it's time to pay up. You know what to do."
Izuku nodded. He got back up in the apartment room and called out. "I'm home! Also, the landlord gave this to me."
"Ah, hello Izuku, and thank you." He grabbed the letter from his son. "So, how was so school today? Was it normal, or was it just fine as always?"
"Yeah, dad. It always was. And it's also boring, so that's another thing." Izuku said as he placed his backpack by the couch. He grabbed a cookie. "So, how's the coffee business going?"
"Oh, business was slow as always, but it was getting well since we put some new drinks to the place," Inko said. Before she was a plump woman, but there was some change that made her a bit chubby. "That café gave me some sort of workout that made me lose some weight."
"Well, you know, in case you need some employees, I'm always here." Izuku pointed to himself, who wanted to help. "I can be of help if anyone wants to accept it."
"Absolutely not, son," Hisashi said sternly. "We've been over this Izuku, and while I appreciate the help from you son, I wouldn't allow the idea to work in the café every day. Remember, your academics are what's more important here and soon, you might be getting a successful life one day. I appreciate the help, son, but no means no."
Izuku glared a bit. This could be a good idea since they needed some extra hands. "Dad, come on, going to school is getting a bit boring with all the long discussions. But at least let me help around. I'm not even there for the money you all make, but I just wanted to help."
"I'm sorry, son. But no means no. I'm making this perfectly clear because you kept asking the same thing over and over." His father was now getting disappointed. "Please, understand that you needed this more than I do. You're just a kid."
Izuku was out of words to say next, and the next thing he did was walk away and muttered a 'fine' from his mouth. Once his bedroom door closed, Hisashi sighed as he hung his head on the table.
"Something wrong?" Inko reminded.
"It's not that. It's just these bills. They're all way up to its numbers." Hisashi exaggerated. "I mean, look at this. The ingredients for the coffee drinks are now going way up as usual. Even the payment for the rent. Before it wasn't doubled when he moved in and have Izuku around."
Inko sighed. "You're right. But this all happened because of what happened four years ago. Ever since the war against the villains in Japan ended, things changed when it comes to the important stuff. Especially our business since people don't really feel safe when Endeavor dead."
"And All Might retired…" Hisashi added and had a saddened look on his face. "If only there is a way where we can an easy life out of this. I mean, at least someone helps us with it." Hisashi let out a desperate sigh as he was being comforted by his wife.
"Don't worry, Hisashi. I'm sure there is another way out of this." Inko assured. "All we have gotta do is work hard on it."
Hisashi calmed down and looked at his wife softly. "Yes, you're right. There has to be another way. We can just be patient about it. I know that something good will happen to us. Hopefully."
While this conversation was going on, Izuku was listening to everything when the door opened a bit. The young boy looked desperate that his parents are struggling, despite having a coffee business with them.
He has only one thing to do: Find a job.
000000
"I'm sorry kid, but we're not hiring."
"Come on, at least let me take this job! You don't understand the situation that me and my family are going through."
"Well, in case you don't know, our staff is full, and we only have five motorbike riders. Plus, their payment share won't be enough once you're around. Besides, you look like a smart kid, but your mind isn't right for this place. No offense."
"Fine, I can understand. Sorry for wasting your time."
Izuku left the pizza restaurant and he walked away in disappointment. For the day after class, he tried to look for a job where he can earn a weekly salary to save his struggling parents. However, five business places rejected him completely due to being in high school and the fact that he is smart to work in such businesses.
This was like the rejection from All Might and UA all over again.
Izuku was sitting on the park bench with his mind racing. "There's got to be another way for me to earn some money for them. At least give me another chance!" As Izuku's face started to get stressed, a flyer flew straight to his face.
"What the…" he sounded annoyed, as he grabbed the flyer and read what was on it. It was a help wanted flyer for a commercial ad from the Mamoru company. The flyer had some pretty basic instructions: All they need is a costume and some of their Support Item with them.
To end, the flyer also states that the commercial will let them receive a payment of 25,000 yen. Which could be enough to pay anything by just adding them one by one.
Thus, this gave Izuku a surprised expression and an idea.
000000
At night, Izuku was inside the train as he was wearing a makeshift costume for the Mamoru commercial ad. His costume was a basic dark green jacket and black pants, along with his red boots. He was wearing a heavily crafted ski mask that had a yellow visor and a pair of ear-like pieces on the side of his head.
Once the train made its stop, Izuku rushed his way inside to the tall building of Mamoru, which was far away from both the apartment and Mikusa High. The young boy entered and took the elevator quickly as he pressed the button for the nineteenth floor.
The elevator stopped by the tenth floor, as a Mamoru employee got inside. Once the elevator continued to lift them both up, Izuku and the employee were silent, until one of them broke the silence.
"Is that for the commercial ad?"
"Y-Yeah. I designed it myself."
"Ah. Well, it looks great on you, kid. You'll do well out there."
"Thanks."
Once the elevator reached the nineteenth floor, Izuku quickly bolted out as he reached the registration area as he almost tripped and fell, but his hands were able to save his fall.
"Sorry for being late! I'm here for the commercial ad under the name of Armored Hare."
The assistant searched his name. "Ah yes, I see you. Armored Hare. And don't worry, you made it just in time. The director was making sure if anyone was coming, so he waited for five more minutes."
"That's good," Izuku said as he entered the room for the commercial. He was surprised to see that it was packed with several actors who are going to be in the commercial and it was designed to look like a commercial due to its large and wide space that almost looked like those military rooms in the movies.
"Is everyone all here? Great." The director said, with a smile on his face. "Okay everyone, this is the moment you've been waiting for. After a whole week of preparing and some actors who were interested to be in it, we can finally start the commercial. So, who wants to be first?"
So far, no one didn't even volunteer nor step in to make their move. "Hmm… looks like everyone is getting some butterflies in their stomachs since this is your first time." A woman wearing a red armor costume was one of the people who felt ashamed.
"Okay, I'll just call someone instead. Let's start with… you! The one wearing the green costume!" the director pointed to Izuku, who was surprised that he was called.
"M-Me?"
"Yes, you there! Come to the stage and show us something with your Support Item and Quirk." Izuku followed since he doesn't have much of a choice. "Just a reminder, this will be the time that you'll perform since the camera will be recording you. So, while the rest are waiting, get ready while you're not called."
The director sat on his chair as the camera was focusing on him. "Okay, Armored Hare, just show some moves or anything you usually do with your Quirk and Support Item, and I'll give you the signal when to stop."
"Got it."
"Good. Now… Action!"
Izuku was now being recorded as he was confused about what to do since he was called first to perform. The young boy activated his Quirk as his metallic arms were revealed, impressing the director, and letting the audience awe at his first act. Izuku grabbed a chair and break in half for his first action. He then activated his jetpack as he started to hover in the air, which made the director and the other actors impressed. Izuku then started to fly up in the air as he flew from the top and back to the ground in five seconds, which made him look like a human fighter jet.
The actors were speaking to themselves about how good he did on his first try. "Impressive!" The director muttered to himself.
Izuku then let out his arm blasters, which made the crew look like it was their go signal to release three metallic balls in the air. Izuku was alert, so he aimed his targets, and blasted the balls into smithereens with precise aim. And for his final act, since he is standing behind a seemingly damaged van that is used for the commercial, Izuku uses his bionic arms and punched the van with it sheer and powerful strength. Even his arm went through the van's door.
"And… cut!" The director yelled, getting what he has. "That was incredible! You really look like a real hero while you're getting filmed out there! Tell me, did you ever try applying to a hero school once?"
Izuku's eyes widened behind the mask. That was a question that sounded so old, despite it happening four years ago. His teenage life to become a hero all ceased to exist after he was told that he can't due to his Quirk being a problem.
Izuku was silent after the memories hit, but he shook his head back to focus. "Uh… yeah. Yeah, I did try applying for the entrance exam. But… I didn't make it."
"I'm sorry that you didn't make it." The director said with empathy. "But don't worry, you'll be getting paid with a fair share… once this commercial is finished."
And so, Izuku watched the many other actors that auditioned for the commercial performed to their heart's content as they show out their Quirks and Support Items in one performance, which made them look like real performers who were trained for their roles. Tonight, was fun, but it only lasted one night.
Two days later, Izuku learned that the commercial was now a hit success, which gained a lot of attention from viewers all around in Japan, with kids and adults interested to the top. Once he is done with school, he put on his costume and heads down back to the Mamoru building to get his price.
"Next!" The assistant called out, who is handing out the reward for the actors from the commercial along with the director by her side for assistance. "Are you Armored Rabbit?"
"Yes, I am," Izuku answered.
"Here you go. Five-hundred thousand yen as promised." The assistant hand over Izuku a white envelope that contained the cash he earned. He can tell it's five-hundred thousand yen since the envelope looked a bit stuffed with cash.
"You're lucky you made it just in time. We were about to leave since the building closes at six." The director said. "So, what are you gonna do with the money?"
"Something important. Even if it didn't go well in agreements." Izuku said, with a sense of a cold tone shifted to the last part.
Once he left the building along with the rest of the people in the Mamoru, Izuku checked and counted all the money that he earned from the commercial and smiled under his mask. He felt proud that he earned something that he worked hard on, and it was easy.
"Don't worry, Dad. Once I show this to you, you'll probably change your mind about what you said." Izuku mentally hoped. He hoped that his father's approval will go well once he sees what he earned.
All of the sudden, a loud explosion was heard, along with the sound of glass breaking and the alarms being tripped. The employees from Mamoru and the citizens stopped walking as they watched what was happening, the same goes for Izuku.
From a building that Izuku is near, a villain who is wearing a white, red, and blue armor along with an astronaut-looking helmet flew up from the building as he started to hover in the air. The citizens were terrified to see an armed villain on the scene. The police arrived and attempted to stop the villain, only to get wiped out by the villain's rocket launchers as he flew away at high speed.
As everyone who saw what happened muttered, Izuku just watched the villain go, not even stopping him with his One For All variant. He can do it, but it doesn't mean he'll get an easy pass. He'll just commit vigilantism rather than saving the day.
"Hey!" the director approached Izuku with a scared expression. "Why didn't you stop him while you had the chance?"
"What are you talking about?" Izuku asked.
"That was a villain there a moment ago, and he just escaped! You could've stopped that while you can!" The director stated. "You could've been a hero if you did."
Izuku clenched his fist, and his face tense up after what he heard. He already gave up dreaming that path, but it doesn't mean he has a grudge against heroes, especially All Might.
"Sorry, but that only belongs to the real heroes. They could've handled it if they were around. But I guess they're not here." Izuku bluntly said.
"But you could've done the right thing! Surely, anyone with that kind Quirk and Support Item you have will do anything to stop a villain act in public." The director reasoned.
"I miss the part where that's my problem," Izuku said, having no intention to commit himself to something like that.
As Izuku walked off, he checked the money again and counted where he left off. Once he knows that it was the full price, he decided to take some and place the envelope back in his backpack.
"I guess I can get some burgers for dinner before heading back home," Izuku said, feeling hungry. "I'm hungry after all."
000000
Later, the night sky had become darker as the time already hit around ten thirty, despite the streets being so busy with people from work are heading home but getting caught in traffic, and 24/7 stores are forced to be opened.
However, this night isn't just a typical night. Let's just say that despite All Might being retired and new heroes rising from the shadows to become like them, criminals all over the cities in Japan are still doing whatever they want late at night. Just now, there is a car that's speeding and swerving on the road as it looked like they are avoiding the police.
"Come on, speed it up!" a criminal with a purple mask yelled frantically. "We need to lose those cops ASAP!"
"Hey, shut up! This is how fast this damn car can only go!" the other criminal with an orange sunglass and a beanie yelled back, as his mouth formed a scared shape.
Turns out that these two criminals, with tons of money bags placed on the back of the car, are trying to avoid the flashing red and blue lights that are coming from the police. Seems like a normal night for crime, even if there isn't a single hero out there to stop them.
The car made a hard right and as the police cars missed by their sudden move. The car then drove inside an abandoned warehouse. The two criminals catch their breaths from the adrenaline they are experiencing now, but they can't rest now since the police sirens are still active in the air for them to hear.
"Quick, get the money, and let's find some place to hide!" the purple masked criminal said as he and his partner grabbed all the stolen bags of money they managed to steal.
Later, the two crooks are in their hideout room of the warehouse, with the door locked and the windows closed shut. The table is filled with loads of money that they managed to take without losing one single bill from it.
"Damn, look at all the money we managed to get! Not even a single bill out of sight!" the purple masked crook laughed in happiness at their success. "Still can't believe that we managed to escape with a huge roll with us."
"Yeah, those stupid heroes aren't doing their jobs enough to find us." The orange beanie crook added, smoking a cigarette. "I mean, remember back at where we mugged an old man for that car? He tried to fight back!"
"Yeah and forced us to kill him even if we warned him about it!" the purple masked crook added, chuckling at what happened. "Shame though really, I hope he doesn't have a kid that's Pro and he's gonna beat our asses for, what, killing him?"
The crooks laughed at their own story of how they were able to get all that money in one night. It only shows that villains before were not the same as the current villains now since they are hard to deal with when it comes to physical and mental strengths.
BOOM! CRASH!
The wall was suddenly blasted, that it was enough power to create a large hole that looked like it came from an explosion. The two crooks were blown off by the blast as they looked horrified to see who they are looking at right now.
In front of them, was a figure wearing a green and black attire with an arm blaster revealed and aimed at them like a menacing robot. Their luck ran out when that mysterious figure appeared out of nowhere.
So, this is the first start of the four-year time skip around Izuku's non-hero-focused life. How will it go for him? Will it be something he'll take or leave? We'll just have to find out once this ends about three chapters for its continuation.
And as you can see, I just published this story just now, and some of you are wondering "what took you so long to update?". Well, basically, kinda of a big deal, but I'm already in college pursuing my dream career of Culinary Management under Hospitality Management and I'm studying and focusing hard enough to get my course finished with a lot of effort I'm working on. So, please, if I'm not updating anymore, it means I'm busy with college, but it doesn't mean the story ended with a chapter I posted. All you need to do is be patient.
Another is that I've been doing a lot of story ideas from concepts and experimenting on other characters from MHA to create an AU, like a different life, different changes of their current Quirk, and etc and etc. I'm afraid that people will find it bad that I'm changing some characters' Quirks for the sake of an AU story, but again, I was just experimenting. Plus, I haven't published one yet.
Also, I almost forgot, that this chapter is inspired by Spider-Man's path to becoming what he is now. The previous five chapters are about Izuku and him getting his Quirk, which is the main thing in every AU Izuku fic. This version of mine is completely different, and I had much fun making this idea. I did a lot of revisioning from here and there and I took some actual parts from both the movie and the comic itself to create this chapter. I also want to make it clear that in this AU, Tenko Shimura DID NOT turn into Shigaraki, meaning that the League of Villains could be a weak villain group, or they don't exist without Shigaraki. As much as possible, I really want to explain more about it in the future, but for now, Tenko did NOT become the villain he is now, and again, AU stuff so this is valid. Plus, I have an explanation for this version's Tenko, but that will be out in the future.
And to end, as always, I can only explain my behalf of this chapter in a very short time but don't worry, there will be more in the future chapters. As of now, I need a break from all the tasks I got handled in college, but hey, that's college life for you. Anyway, please leave a review and support my story! I hope you also can check out some of my other works and I hope you're interested to see some of my future projects, mainly another AU Izuku fic. Bye!
