A bright light shot out of the super computer screen as the Rangers were placed back to their standing positions and the Brachio Morpher Key was ejected out of the slot in the computer. Every Ranger in the room was dead silent at the experiences they had just witnessed. It was a while for any of them to even move an inch as their heads just hung low facing the ground. Brett finally walked into the training room by himself where the picture of Hitler hung up as he stared at it.
"You didn't hang this to praise him; you did it as a memory, a type of motivational drive to bring the end of Mesogog. Should you have strayed from your path you looked at this to be reminded what you're fighting for." Brett said speaking to the photo.
Brett kneeled to the ground with his head hang low.
"Just how are we supposed to stop him now? We can't win let alone hold a candle to him. How do we keep fighting?" Brett said as a tear ran down his face.
The other four Rangers were all sitting on the couch unable to speak at everything they had just witnessed. Unable to deal with the silence Michael spoke up, "So the Tyrannodrones are human experimentations of children. Mesogog is Brett's relative, and our predecessors weren't even able to kill Mesogog in the first place and now they expect us too?"
"Is the Triassic Form the strongest we have?" Xander said.
"I just got it and you've heard Au-I mean Benjamin. Mesogog getting the Power Cube has made him stronger than I am and I barely was able to hold back that energy ball he sent to you guys. We need to be lucky that he's struggling handling that power but I'm sure we can't even use that to our advantage because his power overthrows ours." Tobias replied.
"There has to be away we can win. You're telling us that these last 3 months have been nothing? There has to be more that we can do than us sitting here moping." Zach said.
Michael stood up.
"I'm heading out." He said.
"Are you really leaving?" Tobias said with a bit of irritation on his face.
"I'm going to figure a way to fight back but I do not want to be here where we are all in such a great depressed state of mind. We aren't going to get anywhere moping around while you guys do that I'm going to figure something out." Michael said as he super sped away.
He super sped back home and when he grabbed the necklace that had the name Marie on it as he placed his back up against his bedroom door and slowly fell to the ground with tears slowly running down his face.
"I was hoping I would have more time to fix things. But it would seem what Benjamin said to me is true." Michael said as he spent time in the same spot before getting up off the ground. He heard someone pounding on the door he quickly opened it and was on guard for the pounding didn't come off like a good sign. He looked through the peephole and saw a man with a red beret and some weird clothing. Michael slowly unlocked the door and cracked it open as he looked out.
"Can I help you with something?" He asked.
"Are you Michael?" The man asked with a worried look on his face.
"Yes? Who's asking?" He replied.
"I have no time to talk the future needs you! I need you to come with me!" The stranger said.
He pressed a button on what appeared to be a strang morpher brace and a flash of white light enveloped them all. The door to the apartment after the flash of light was closed instead of opened as Michael and the stranger were no longer around.
Back at the hideout everyone was thinking of what Michael had said.
"Kind of a harsh way to put it don't you think?" Xander said.
"He's always been like that. It doesn't matter if it will hurt you or not, Michael will tell you like it is without sugar coating things. Surprisingly he's been more relaxed about it lately." Tobias said.
"This whole situation is messed up. I felt like we were superheroes but now I don't know what to think. It's a lot different than what you see in movies." Zach added on.
Xander was in deep thought as he looked up at the others.
"I think we should keep fighting, even if we are destined to lose. I've learned so much being a Power Ranger and I learned to not let fear keep you down. If I am too die by Mesogog's hands, I'd like to die knowing that I put up a fight." Xander said courageously.
Zach and Tobias looked at Xander with a bit of an expression. Brett walked out of the training room with a bit more hopeful facial expression.
"I agree with Xander. We could die fighting off Mesogog and we also could've died fighting Terrorsaurus, Zeltrax, Golden Rod, and Michael but we are still here."
Tobias got up off the couch as Brett's words ran around in his mind.
"He's absolutely right. We've had the odds against us and every single time we've overcome them someway somehow. We don't know the future of this fight; we might even find a weakness to all of this at last second. But if we stay down and let Mesogog walk all over us then we know 100% that we lose." Tobias said encouraging the others.
Zach stayed on the couch with his hands clasped together. He breathed deeply and then exhaled out as his feet began shaking. He got up off the couch as he began walking to the stairs to exit the underground room.
"Zach, are you okay?" Xander asked.
Zach stopped walking up the stairs as he slightly turned his head over to his friends.
"I just can't see us winning a fight that we are destined to lose. If it's really pointless to fight Mesogog I'd rather just cut right to the chase of the result of this battle. I'm sorry but I'm not going to try and fight a pointless battle. I'm sorry but I'm going home to think all this over." He said as he jogged up the stairs and left the house. The other Rangers began to mingle with the thought of Zach leaving and what he said weighing on their minds.
Mesogog was groveling over his throne as sparks of electricity shot out everywhere from the Cube implanted in his chest.
"They were right there! I could've killed them!" He said moaning in pain.
The Cube was causing him a lot of pain as his body began twitching and shaking.
"My body…It's trying to reject the Cube…It's just too much power for me to hold on to…" He said as he fell to the ground. He was screaming in pain as the whole laboratory began to shake. "How do I…make this stop…?" He said.
Mesogog's eyes emitted beams of light that shot into the ceiling eviscerating the debris that was falling before the light faded and the pain that he was feeling finally came to a halt. He reached out and grabbed the arm of his throne as he tried to stand up but his legs were shaking from everything.
The alien Sheela appeared in front of him as Mesogog was shocked to see her.
"You should've been dead and gone. What are you doing here Sheela?" Mesogog snarled at her.
"I'm here to see the failure that I had caused. I was hoping that you would be defeated but to see that you were able to get your hands on the Power Cube is quite shocking to me." She replied.
"When Benjamin took over as the Entity of the Cube the previous one is too perish. So why aren't you gone?" He said as he slashed at her with one of his veins. The vein went right through her doing no harm and when it retracted back into his arm he kneeled to the ground feeling more pain.
"It would seem the humans have a custom that should you die and have unfinished business you stay as what you're called a spirit. You can never move on until your wish is granted and you're ties to the world are gone. My tie to this planet is your death and yet you're still alive." Sheela said to him.
"Heh. Well you're stuck here then. With the Power Cube in my possession the Power Rangers can't stop me and this almost 100 year fight we've had will finally come to an end. When I've destroyed every living human being on this planet, I'll be coming back to Celeste and I'm killing all your loved ones. I will wipe out that planet as I should have before getting sealed in the Power Cube." Mesogog said stumbling on his feet.
"Benjamin and I still have our trump card. It's already been put in place and you won't get what you want." Sheela said determined.
"Do you honestly think the Power Rangers can kill me? Their power doesn't even come close to what I now wield. You are putting your hopes into the wrong people. The ZEO Five couldn't kill me, Jordan, Ava, and Benjamin couldn't do more than seal me, and our fight Sheela in the Power Cube for all these years and you weren't able to stop me. Now you think five weaklings amongst them a child, is going to bring my downfall? Be able to do the things all of you couldn't? What a tasteless joke." Mesogog chuckled.
"You're very own mentality is what will be your downfall. Very soon you will pay the toll for taking so many lives not just on Earth but on Celeste." Sheela vanished from the room.
"Heh we'll see about that woman." Mesogog raised his hand as the white Cube turned red and a beam of light shot out as a monster began forming. "Until I can fully use this power I'll have to create monsters to fight for me in hopes of taking down the Power Rangers. But the moment I have control I'll be wiping them out personally." Mesogog said as a new creature stood in front of him. "Go and kill the Rangers. Bring me their Dino Gems when you do my pet." Mesogog demanded.
Zach walked through his door finally getting home from Brett's as his dog Firestorm ran up and jumped with a hugging tackle knocking him to the ground. Firestorm was licking his face as it began whimpering but was wagging its tail so happily to see its best friend back. Zach was annoyed Firestorm did this but couldn't stay mad as he started smiling after his long day.
"Okay, okay, alright Firestorm I see you missed me a lot." Zach laughed.
Firestorm got off of him as the dog ran to the bedroom and grabbed a leash and dragged it to Zach. Firestorm put the leash down as the dog bent to the ground with its behind up and tail wagging giving Zach the puppy eyes look.
"You want to go outside don't you?" He asked.
Firestorm gave out a loud happy bark as the dog spun in circles with excitement.
Over the course of the night Zach took Firestorm out to go to the bathroom and walk around the town. His severe depression that lingered over him was quickly vanishing as he spent time with his dog. The two spent a lot of time outside even though it was cold out.
"I can't believe its spring but it's still freezing outside. It's like what almost May? Hey Firestorm! Let's go back home I'll make a special treat for you." Zach said with a smile on his face.
Firestorm began wagging its tail and giving out a cheerful bark as it jumped up into the air. Firestorm began running around Zach's legs. "Hey! Firestorm stop that! I'm going to fa-"Zach fell onto the ground as Firestorm began licking his face on the ground. His dog had a big smile on its face.
"You always have this amazing ability where I can never be mad at you." Zach said while rubbing his hand on Firestorm's head. Zach got out of the entanglements as they began to run side by side back home. The two were in a park that was down the road. This same park was where Ka-Ching had attacked. The park was mostly forest with trees and a path to lead you to the other side of it. Whenever Zach came out here he would walk through the forest and avoid the path because to him it felt like he wasn't in Bowling Green anymore but in the wild. It was a nice escapism for him.
Firestorm began peeing on a nearby tree and when done the dog took a very aggressive stance as it began growling in a random direction.
An arrow came soaring through the lightly snowy terrain as it landed a few feet away from Firestorm. Zach saw the arrow glow vividly as he activated his powers and dashed to shield his dog. The arrow gave off a small explosion but was powerful enough to send Zach flying as he had Firestorm clutched in his arms. Zach slammed up against a tree as he checked on Firestorm. "Thank goodness you're safe." He said as his skin reverted back to his human one.
"Heh I thought you were one of the Power Rangers. You would think with the arrival of my master's new powers you guys would know better than to be alone." A creature said wielding a huge green bladed arrow.
The creature had these faded pink horns on top of what looked like a skull of some animal. Its body was armor you'd see warriors in medieval times wear with red dots on its chest. The bow was green on its underside and pink where the blades were.
"The name is Jade Gladiator and you Blue Ranger will be my first victim out of the others I'll be hunting." He said to him.
Firestorm got out of Zach's arms as it took a stance to protect him and began barking at Jade Gladiator. Jade Gladiator pulled back on his bow as he aimed the arrow that began filling with pure energy at Firestorm. "A mere animal baring its fangs at me, oh please a rock has a better chance of doing something than you mutt." Jade Gladiator fired his arrow as Zach activated his powers and grabbed Firestorm as he tried to run away from the attack.
"I just need to get out of the blast range and I'll call for help. I can't let Firestorm get involved in this fight!" Zach said with his mind fogged up over fear of losing something precious to him. The one arrow split into multiple and the direction it was going too changed its path as the arrows landed into the ground circling around Zach. "THE ARROWS CAN SPLIT AND CHANGE DIRECTION?!" He said aloud in his mind as one by one they all began exploding. A giant form of smoke began to form around the forest terrain. The smoke was beginning to lift as Zach was holding Firestorm like he was a fire blanket. Zach's dino skin was gone and pieces of his jacket and pants had holes in them. His glasses fell to the ground as the band connecting them were severed and he some blood running down his face. Firestorm began to whimper as you could see a tear rolling down the furry face. Firestorm was extremely terrified of everything as it was starting to freak out.
"Shhh Shhh Firestorm, everything's going to be okay bud. I'm not going to let anything happen to you." Zach said as he began to stand up. "Just stay right here and I'll end this quickly." Zach said as stood up and faced Jade Gladiator. Firestorm was extremely scared from the blast as it stayed hunched down on the ground with its tail between its legs and was shivering.
"Be lucky that your power has such high defense. I only fired at half my power but it would seem like you could withstand that. If you want to fight me then go ahead. I, Jade Gladiator, graciously accept any and all challenges. Let us fight to the death Blue Ranger." Jade Gladiator challenged.
Zach brought his dino bracelet to his chest as it transformed into his Tricera Morpher.
"Anyone who tries to take what is precious to me, will have their lives stripped away." Zach said.
"Oho then why don't you prove that by taking my very own life if you can!" Jade Gladiator said as he began charging at Zach.
"Ready!" Zach called out.
He pulled back on his morpher as he did his transformation pose.
"Dinothunder! Power up!"
A gold footprint appeared in front of him as it moved through his body revealing his Ranger Form.
"Tricera Shield!"
Zach had his hand stretched out as the shield materialized in it blocking Jade Gladiator's bow blade slashing at Zach. Zach shoved his opponent away from him as he used his opposite hand to reach for his saber on his hip. He withdrew it as he went to slash at Jade Gladiator. His opponent did a rising block with his bow blade with the center piece in direct line to Zach's face.
"Bad move." His opponent said as he pulled back on the string. A gold arrow formed as Zach turned his saber back into gun mode using his shield. He then aimed the gun at Jade Gladiator's chest and pulled the trigger firing multiple shots. The gold arrow vanished before it could be fired as his enemy stumbled backwards. Zach took this opportunity to move in close to his opponent. He swung his shield sideways slapping Jade Gladiator across the face with the tip of his horn before Zach spun around and charged up his shield with power.
"Dino Shot!"
He fired off the horn that hit Jade Gladiator in the chest as it began drilling upon impact trying to pierce through him. Realizing that it was taking a while Zach raised his gun and fired off multiple shots in random directions as he was trying to break through the armor of his enemy. But the shots weren't doing much.
"If the barrage of bullets won't work I'll aim for the center and use my power to push the horn through." Zach said as he accurately aligned the barrel of his gun to the horn that was still spinning around. He fired a shot as the laser blast hit its target. A tiny explosion was made that sent Jade Gladiator flying some feet away from him. The monster was able to land with his feet as they got dragged into the ground to prevent him from moving backwards further. Smoke was coming off his chest as a small hole with some cracks formed around where the bullet was fired.
"Heh too think you could leave cracks in my armor." Jade Gladiator said with a smirk.
Zach began to charge at Jade Gladiator as he began firing more bullets. But a small group of Tyrannodrones appeared taking the bullets. Zach came to a quick stop as the bullets hit them and they barely flinched from the attack. Zach's hands were trembling as he was struggling to find his way to plow through them like the other drones that came before them.
"Oh? What's wrong Blue Ranger? I thought you were going to sever my life away." Jade Gladiator taunted. Zach stared down at the Tyrannodrones that were standing still as his mind became filled with the thoughts of the Jewish children whose bodies were trapped inside those things.
"That's not me…I'm not a murderer…I can't kill them now knowing they are ch-ch-ch-children…" Zach then gasped as he realized he was stuttering like he used too. "I thought I got over this! Why is it back now?!" He thought in his head.
Firestorm was barking while still in fear. Firestorm wanted to fight but couldn't shake off the fear from the explosion.
"I can't fight them…How do you overcome and justify any of th-th-this…" He said stuttering.
"Oho you learned the truth of these Tyrannodrones have you? Well your guilty conscience will be the death of you. Attack!" Jade Gladiator commanded as the four drones swarmed around him and began violently beating him up. Zach took the blows as he got thrown around like a rag doll. Zach was grabbed and thrown across the battlefield as he slammed up against a tree and his weapons fell out of his hands as they scattered around him. Jade Gladiator raised his hand as the Tyrannodrones vanished and he began walking up towards Zach. Zach was in a lot of pain as he was trying to move.
"I'll take the weakness you have shown and strike you down. I'll be taking your Dino Gem and you're life. Goodbye Blue Ranger." Jade Gladiator said as he raised his bow.
Firestorm saw Zach struggling to get off the ground as the dog's heart was starting to cause pain. Firestorm had this huge wave of fear of losing Zach and the thought of losing him overwhelmed the animal, Firestorm broke off in a sprint to stop Jade Gladiator. Firestorm shook off its fear giving a vicious growl before jumping into the air and biting on the wrist of Jade Gladiator. Firestorm swung its body weight as the blade part of the bow slammed into the ground about two inches from Zach's face.
"OFF ME MUTT!" Jade Gladiator said as he violently swung his arm back sending Firestorm flying further away from them. Jade Gladiator pulled back on his bow as he fired an arrow that landed next to Firestorm.
"NO! FIRESTORM GET AWAY!" Zach yelled out.
Firestorm saw the arrow begin glowing brightly and started to run but didn't get far as Firestorm's left leg was sprained. Firestorm fell onto the ground and couldn't stand back up as much as it tried too. The dog was whimpering as it couldn't move and right before the blast, Firestorm looked at Zach as it gave a whining bark. The explosion was small but the force of it covered at least a circumference of eight feet and a huge thing of smoke began to fill the white sky. Jade Gladiator walked into the smoke as Zach's heart was feeling like it was ripping apart. Jade Gladiator brought out Firestorm's body as it had deep cuts and a bunch of the brown fur was mostly gone and blood was dripping down the sides of the dog's stomach. Firestorm was faintly breathing and its eyes were closed shut as they had these black circles around them.
Zach stretched out his hand as Jade Gladiator chucked the dog at him as the carcass slid onto the ground and touched his hand.
"Firestorm…Get up…Say something…Please…Lick my hand or something…T-T-Tel—Te-Te-Tell me your st-st-st-still with m-m-m-me…Please don't g-go…" Zach said as he crawled on the ground to wrap his arms around his pet. He thought this was a nightmare, a sick and depraved dream. That any moment he would wake up and Firestorm would be lying right next to him in bed. Zach placed his hand on different spots of Firestorm and his dog looked at him as it brought its mouth over to his helmet. The dog was whimpering and beyond terrified of leaving his master alone. Firestorm licked the helmet where Zach's mouth would be before lifting its paw and placing it on the mouth of the helmet. The paw slowly moved down the helmet as Firestorm was no longer breathing.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Zach threw his head back as he screamed into the air. He took his helmet off as he wrapped Firestorm in his arms as he placed his face on the head of the corpse. He was tearing up as he held what was his family and greatest support through everything.
Jade Gladiator pulled back on the bow as a giant arrow formed.
"If you miss that insignificant mutt so much, I'll send you straight to that world to meet it." The creature fired the shot. Zach was too busy mourning as the arrow got closer. In a split second a red streak zipped in the line of fire and grabbed Zach and Firestorm and getting the two out of harm's way. The arrow hit the tree as it exploded to bits.
"Heh saved by the Red Ranger." Jade Gladiator chuckled.
"Zach! Zach! Get it together Zach!" Tobias said shaking his friend's shoulders.
Zach snapped back to reality as he looked up at Tobias.
"Firestorm is gone…He k-k-k-killed h-h-h-her…" Zach said stuttering.
"I'll take care of the monster, get Firestorm out of here and somewhere sa-."
"NO! I'M KILLING THAT MUTATED ABOMINATION!" Zach roared.
Zach stood up as he snatched the helmet from Tobias and placed it back on. He crossed his arms together.
"SUPER DINO MODE!"
The white claws extended out of Zach's suit and he began growling at Jade Gladiator. Tobias stood beside Zach. "If you're going to fight I'm not going to stop you, but I'll help you." He said as he raised the Dino Brace over his chest. "I'll set up the monster and you go in for the kill." Tobias assured.
"I'm going to rip this thing to shreds." Zach said angrily.
"Dinothunder, Rise Up!"
A gold footprint that was different than the others appeared in front of Tobias. Tobias ran through with his armor forming on his chest. "I see the leader has shown up. About time I get a challenge worthy of my time." Jade Gladiator said running towards Tobias. Tobias had the Shield of Triumph in hand with the blade still sheathed. His opponent went to slash at him and Tobias blocked with his weapon. He then lifted his leg which got absorbed in fire.
"Fire Kick!"
The attack missed as it went passed Jade Gladiator's face and while the kick hung in the air when it was finished, Tobias's leg on the ground bent down as he jumped into the air and spun in the air as he went with a punch attack into his opponent's face. Jade Gladiator grabbed his fist as pulses of the wind formed around the contact. "Zach now!" Tobias called out as blue sparks formed around Zach as he came with his right fist clenched as hard as he could.
"Son of a bitch!" Jade Gladiator said as Zach struck him in the stomach.
"Super Dino Smash!"
Zach struck the stomach area and then lifted the same fist as he did an uppercut to the creature's jaw. Tobias in the middle of the strike broke free and while still in midair unsheathed his blade. Zach spun away from Jade Gladiator as Tobias came down with a slash attack. Jade Gladiator did a rising block to stop the sword from hitting him as Tobias landed on the ground. Jade Gladiator did a kick to push Tobias back before using the same leg to kick at Zach who was coming into strike. Zach was kicked back as Jade Gladiator pulled back on the bow and fired a barrage of arrows at Tobias to keep him busy and once the arrows were released he pivoted facing Zach. He pulled back and fired a barrage of arrows at him but Zach began running into the barrage.
"A coward's choice to run to their deaths! But if you love arrows so much I'll just give you more." He said as he fired another arrow that split into a couple dozens. Zach took the pain each blow had as he got closer to his target.
Tobias had his shield up trying to withstand the blow until he got through everything. He looked to see Zach's right arm supercharged with blue electricity. "It's time to finish this!" Zach said. Tobias ran his fingers on top of his blade as the silver turned red and then burst into flames.
"Fire Blade!"
"Super Dino Smash!"
Zach was a second faster at connecting his fist into Jade Gladiator's lower back. He hit hard enough to snap the spine and his opponent began leaning backwards. Tobias swung hard enough as his fiery blade connected at the collarbone area of Jade Gladiator when Zach's punch landed. Zach had a burst of speed as his entire arm ripped through Jade Gladiator's body and Tobias's blade cut through. The two ran past each other as Zach halted his running taking a stance and Tobias came to a halt as he blood shake his sword.
Jade Gladiator was gasping for air as his body fell backwards and once it hit the ground sparks of electricity coursed around his entire body as a final explosion was made while Tobias and Zach held their battle positions. After the explosion the two Power Rangers walked up to Firestorm lying dead on the ground. Zach rubbed his hand down the side of his dog's face.
"…I will always love you Firestorm…I'll never forget you…" He said as he began crying in his helmet.
A dark rain storm cloud appeared over the explosion as it began raining and reviving Jade Gladiator. Zach was holding onto his dog as he had begun grieving. Tobias put his hand on Zach's shoulder.
"Mourn for your loss Zach, I'm going to take care of this for you." Tobias said as the two got transported to the Power Grid.
"I appreciate your help Tobias I really do. You're a great friend." He said to him.
Tobias watched as Jade Gladiator was almost finished reviving. He shot his arm up into the air.
"COME! MEZODON ROVER!"
The eyes on his morpher flashed yellow as the Temple out in the distance formed a pathway as the Mezodon Rover came running down the path with the carriage behind it. Tobias jumped into the air as he phased through the Zord.
"Inserting the Shield of Triumph! Form the Triceramax Megazord!" He said as he placed the shield with the blade folded back into the pedestal with the shield imprint.
The Megazord began to transform and when finished the giant robot was holding the two double sided battle axes. A young boy in spiritual form appeared next to Tobias. The boy was Lucas as he placed his hand on Tobias's arm. Tobias looked down at him.
"Hello Lucas." Tobias greeted.
"Even now innocent lives are being taken. Please Mr. Superhero can you save my uncle? I don't want any more of this." Lucas said with a sad look on his face.
"I will. I'm going to figure a way to end it all." Tobias responded.
"My soul is attached to this robot. I can't leave until what is keeping me here is gone. I want to go see mom, dad, siblings, and everyone." Lucas said with a tender smile.
"And you will, I promise you that." Tobias said as Lucas let go of his arm. He began to fade away as his smile got bigger.
"I pray for your success." He said as his final goodbye.
Tobias turned his attention to Jade Gladiator who had pulled back on his bow.
"I plan on ending this in one shot Red Ranger! When you fall so will all the others!" Jade Gladiator laughed evilly.
"That requires me to fall." Tobias said with a smirk.
Jade Gladiator let go of the string as a giant arrow soared towards Tobias. Tobias hovered his hands over the Shield of Triumph. "Let's do this together Lucas." Tobias muttered. Lucas's spirit appeared in front of the Shield. He gave a nod as the attack hit the Megazord a destructive blast was made that rattled the Megazord and inside Lucas had his arms stretched out to his sides as he was clenching his fists as tight as he could to keep the Megazord stable as sparks were flying everywhere.
"I'm seeing my…Family…You're just another thing in my way!" He roared as Tobias began to mimic his fighting stances.
The Triceramax began charging at Jade Gladiator who made one quick step and slashed at the duo. Tobias raised the axe to block and Lucas controlled his robot to do a side swipe with the other axe as hard as he could to lodge the weapon into Jade Gladiator's side. Lucas had a heroic look on his face as he took his other arm and stretched it out above him. Tobias mimicked this as well as dark clouds formed above them. Jade Gladiator was in pain from the axe penetrating his side but fought back against as he got in a slash that had no effect on the two piloting the Megazord.
"WHY IS EVERYTHING I THROW AT YOU NOT WORKING?! YOU'RE ZORD IS CLEARLY DAMAGED AND YET YOU DON'T EVEN BOTHER FLINCHING!" Jade Gladiator roared in rage.
"I'm bringing justice down upon you monster! All you do is kill and I swore to my father while living inside this machine that I'll stop all evil!" Lucas roared as the clouds became pitch black and thunder was ripping through the sky. Tobias had the Zord lift the axe as high as he could and when he accomplished this a Zord sized lightning bolt shot down and wrapped around the weapon. Tobias and Lucas together swung the blade down as it pierced through the bow blade like it was butter.
"TOGETHER LUCAS!" Tobias called out.
"AXE THUNDER STRIKE!"
The two lodged the weapon into Jade Gladiator's face as the electricity transferred into his face followed by another huge bolt of lightning to engulf the monster's whole body and as the surge of power vanished, there wasn't a single trace of Jade Gladiator left behind. Tobias was breathing heavily as he once looked around at the destruction of the battlefield. Lucas slowly turned around as he looked at Tobias deep in his eyes.
"Do you think daddy would be proud of me? I fought side by side with a superhero and won!" He said with a bit of excitement in his voice.
Tobias took his helmet off and returned that smile, "I'm pretty sure your father would be immensely proud of you." He said as Lucas waved goodbye to him before vanishing.
Tobias left the Megazord as he and Zach were returned back to their world reverted back to their human forms. Zach still holding his best friend in his arms.
"Zach are you going to be alright?" Tobias asked worryingly.
"I don't know if I will for a while. Firestorm has done more for me than anything ever has. This dog saved my life when I was going to fail coming back from my surgery. I don't know how to cope with this right now. But I know what I must do and I need help. Can you gather Xander and meet me back here? This park was Firestorm's favorite spot to play, and I would like to bury my friend here." Zach said with his tear stained face.
Tobias lightly patted his friend's shoulder, "Yeah I can do that. Go find a spot away from this where people are going to gather and we'll find you." He suggested.
As Tobias sped away Zach carried his friend through the destroyed parts of the forest as he tried to find a good spot for a burial. He came amongst a tree that was the last one in the forest as it was a bit far apart from the others.
"I think this is the best spot." Zach said as he placed the corpse onto the ground and began digging with his hands but the ground was hard because of the cold. He activated his powers as he delivered a powerful blow into the ground and began digging and widening the hole. A few seconds later Tobias showed up with Xander on his back. The two friends kneeled side by side with Zach as they began helping him dig up the whole. The three were silent until the hole was finally finished.
Zach stood at the foot of the hole as tears were just starting to run down his face.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through like this. I never wanted to lose you …"
Xander and Tobias stood in silence for a bit as Zach was trying to find the strength to cover his dog with the piled up dirt.
"Tobias you don't know the story about Firestorm do you?" Xander asked.
"No I don't." Tobias replied.
Zach slowly reached out to the piles of dirt as he began to explain.
"Years ago I had a type of illness and a special type of surgery needed to be done in order for it to be removed. The surgery was somewhat successful but my body just couldn't wake up. To me it felt like a type of comfort I never had before and I was losing my will to keep living on because of it. According to Xander the doctors were doing everything to bring me back to life but I was just being unresponsive. My mother had bought me a puppy. I had always wanted a dog and had been begging for one for a long time. When my mom had me in surgery a friend of ours reached out to us and heard my story. My mom thought it would be a great gift that I wake up to see a puppy in her arms. The success rate of the surgery was high so she tried to distract herself and went to get the puppy. On her way back she got a call that I was being unresponsive to the treatment and she came rushing back into the hospital with Firestorm in her arms. I had met the puppy once prior to the surgery and was the dog I really wanted but couldn't have. My few hours with Firestorm made me really close and Mom said that Firestorm just knew something was wrong. The puppy squirmed out of her arms and began running to the room and got in the room. The doctors were surprised to see the animal as it began barking and rubbing its paws on my chest. The barking, I could hear it where I was which was such a comforting place. The noise was the only thing reaching to me than anyone else's voices. I was curious to the sound as I began searching for it. I then found it and when I did I saw Firestorm being picked up from my body as the puppy was whimpering and crying. The dog saw me wake up and the first word out of my mouth was its name. Since that day, Mom, Xander and I all agreed that Firestorm saved my life. I was able to come back to life because of this animal that I loved and treasured all its life. In my fight with Jade Gladiator I could see it and I could tell that Firestorm, who was always good at listening to orders, broke the one rule I trained it on to save my life once more." Zach said depressed and tears still falling down his face.
As Zach was finishing up his story he moved the last piece of dirt that would cover Firestorm's face as he hunched over and gave out one last painful sob at the loss of something once precious to him. Tobias and Xander stood by their friend as they provided emotional support and comfort.
Back at Tobias's apartment, Michael came back in a flash of bright light. When he came back he was rejuvenated and healed from his previous battle. He was looking at his shaking hands as he had a look at what the future holds.
"I'm not allowed to say anything about what I saw...But what am I supposed to do...Tobias... My son... You are going to go down a very dark path..." Michael then walked into his son bedroom as he got onto the futon in the room and laid down as he stared at the ceiling trying to process everything he just experienced.
