Ace and Graham haven't seen each other for a few days. "Did you and Graham get into a fight," Nyssa asks her friend and business partner.
"We watched the movie your wife gave us, and let's just say it made us very uncomfortable."
"What movie was that?" She follows her friend into her office to find a bouquet on the desk.
"One that you would not want to watch with someone you haven't told your feelings to yet."
"That kind of movie, was it 50 Shades?"
"Thank god no, it was The Sausage Party."
"That movie, Ace, look at your desk."
"I am," Ace has stopped in front of her desk staring at the arrangement of light pink tulips.
"Is there a sentiment?" Ace slowly reaches to find a card.
'Sorry for ghosting.
Heart Graham.'
With a smile on her face and forgetting that Nyssa is there she gets out her phone. "You didn't ghost me."
"I didn't?"
"No Graham you lovely man; you didn't. We were avoiding each other because of the movie and the awkwardness it created between the two of us."
"Why did we react that way?"
"I don't know Graham." Meanwhile Ace can hear her friend laughing, "I'll call you later. Nyssa is in my office. I just wanted to call and thank you for the flowers."
"Did they make you smile?" Graham wants to always make Ace happy.
"It did," Nyssa stands there as her friend tries to hold back a blush. "Graham, I should really go."
"Can I see you later?"
"You never have to ask to see me."
"You also never have to ask me. I have some things to handle."
"Go handle them. I will see you later. By Graham I l- hope you have a great day." Ace hopes neither Graham nor Nyssa caught what she almost said. She hangs up quickly.
"What did you say to him?"
"To have a good day, now we have an idea for our fundraiser; we just need a location."
"Also an invitation list."
"I know it's my turn to pick who from our group that I want."
"I'll put down Graham."
"Yes him, Ryan, Kate. As always your wife is a given," Ace retorts.
"Graham will be that way too."
"Maybe, more on to others."
"We should try and get back Mr. Turner?"
"We should invite him and see. I should tell you a few weeks ago, Graham did ask for his name. I don't know why I told him, but I did."
"What were the two of you doing?"
"Taking a nice walk around my neighborhood."
"Are you sure you two aren't dating just without any benefits?"
"I am sure, I just like being around him."
"The day will come when that will change."
Meanwhile across town Graham is meeting up with an old friend of his.
"Graham O'Brien, you are finally in London."
"I spend most of my time here now."
"Why?"
"The place I volunteer at is here, and someone that I recently met and became fast friends with lives here."
"Does this friend happen to be a female?"
"She is."
"So are you moving on from Grace?" His friend asks.
"I am Mark."
"What's her name? She must be pretty special if you are moving on from Grace."
"Her name is A. Dorothy." Graham has to stop himself from calling her Ace, since he knows most people know Ace as Dorothy.
"As in Dorothy McShane?"
"The one and only," Graham adds with a large smile.
"I used to donate to her charity."
"Why did you stop?"
"I liked her, and I got the feeling recently she didn't like me. Though if you met her recently right?" Mark is thinking that the woman who he finds beautiful met his friend around the same time she started to make it known she had no romantic or otherwise interest in him.
"Last October through a common friend."
"Well, I'm happy for you. If I lose my shot with Dorothy, I am happy it's you."
"The only thing she told me is with your help how much she was looking forward to helping others. A- I mean Dorothy, has one of the purest hearts I know."
"Why do you almost keep calling her by a different name?"
"When we met, she introduced herself by an old nickname. I think she introduced herself as said nickname is because of our friend."
"You really like her, don't you?"
"I have fallen in love with her mind, heart and body."
"Yeah, I didn't know much about the mind. I think she kept part of herself from letting the public know. You should know, she is really close to Nyssa." Mark sometimes thought that Nyssa and Ace were too close.
"I have met Nyssa and her spouse many times."
"Her partner is Tegan right? I have met her a few times. Dorothy seems very close to her too."
Graham laughs, "they act like sisters, I don't need to worry about that. Both of them have been teasing Dorothy and I a lot."
"About what?"
"Dorothy and I spend the majority of our free time together. Can you think about donating to A Charitable Earth again?"
"I can think about it. Look, I got to go. It was nice seeing you, Graham. Ask out Dorothy, you never know when someone who makes her heart and everything sing will come along."
"Her happiness is important. I will see you later Mark." Graham gets up and shakes Mark's hand. Graham walks around and walks past a dance studio. "I want to surprise Ace with knowing how to dance. More than just some soft shoe shuffle." He enters the small building.
"Hello, how can I help you?" The woman at the desk asks.
"I was wondering if you have any ballroom classes open."
"May I ask why?"
"I want to impress a woman I like by knowing how to dance in that style for a party she is throwing."
"What kind of dance is it?"
"It is a Masquerade Ball. I am also planning to tell her how I feel that night."
"How long do we have?"
"About three months."
"We may not have enough time."
"I am free a lot. Currently retired."
"That can help out. We will need you almost every day."
"I can be here, how much will it cost?"
"A few hundred pounds." Graham takes out his wallet. "You want to pay now?"
"I do, she is important to me and I want to get started sooner rather than later."
