Ch 2
At the presentation for the Jericho missile, Toni stood tall with her suit and a pair of sunglasses. "Is it better to be feared or respected?" Toni asked. "Well, I would say, is it too much to ask for both?"
The army guards just stared in confusion as Toni gave a small smirk.
"It's the first missile system to incorporate our proprietary repulsor technology. They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire, but I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how dad did it. That's how America does it. And it's worked out pretty well so far. Find an excuse to let one of these off the chain and I personally guarantee you the bad guys won't even want to come out of their caves."
Then she waited and the missile zoomed out before splitting up into smaller missiles that pulverized the mountain in a series of explosions.
"For your consideration, the Jericho." Toni said.
After the presentation, Toni sat down with her friend James Rhodey.
"Sheesh, that was long. I could use a drink right about now." Toni said with a sigh.
"I already told you, Afghantistan is dry." Rhodey replied.
"I know, that's why I could use a drink." Toni tried again.
Rhodey sighed in annoyance. "No, dry as in they don't serve alchohol."
"Okay, well, do you have a water or something?" Toni asked.
"Yeah." Rhodey said as he walked off.
Then Toni got a call from Stane.
"Obie. You're up late." Toni said.
"So, how'd it go?" Stane asked.
"Looks like its gonna be an early Christmas." Toni replied in a bored voice.
"It's March." Stane said.
"You know what I mean. It was great. Early Easter, then. Whatever, Spring break. Speaking of Christmas, why aren't you wearing those pajamas I gave you?" Toni asked.
"Good night, Toni." Stane said in annoyance before hanging up.
Then Rhodey came back with the water and saw Toni trying to go to the front Hummvee. "Yeah, sorry about that. This is the fun-vee. The hum-drum-vee is back there." Toni pointed behind.
"Nice job." Rhodey said after a sigh. They'd been together for so long that Rhodey just let Toni get it out of her system.
"See you back at the base." Toni replied with a smirk before she went into the front Humvee and the two cars rumbled along. The weapons presentation was finally over. What could possibly go wrong?
