After walking away from the stage and entering the bushes, the gang and Ben all gathered up to discuss what they've seen and what they should do next.
"Those Hex Girls seem kind of suspicious." Fred remarked to the gang.
"I'll say." Velma agreed.
"Daph and I should keep an eye on them." Fred puts his arm around Daphne.
"Gee, why is it that you always pair off with Daphne, Fred?" Braedey teased, Willow snickering at this.
"Uh... Well..." Fred looked away bashfully, while Daphne blushed.
"Never mind." Daphne cuts in, wrapping one arm around Fred's arm. "It's a good idea."
"I wanna take another look at where the guys saw the ghost." Velma said to the others.
"I'll go with Fred and Daphne to help them out." Willow said to Braedey, and he nodded to her. "You will go with Ben, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby."
With that, the gang all split up, and head off to do their part. Willow looked to Braedey, the latter giving a two-finger salute, and Willow nodded back to him, as the group go in different directions.
First off, Braedey and Ben looked around the ground, looking for something, as they, Shaggy, Scooby, and Velma were looking all around for any clues. Braedey had his magnifying glass and scattered all around.
"Come on, guys. Let's take a look behind those trees." Velma pointed to the trees in the far back of the forest.
Ben nodded and followed Velma. Braedey did some last-minute checks, then quickly caught up with them. They spotted strange tyre tracks. It really puzzled the three of them.
"Strange..." Braedey noted, cupping his chin in thought.
"What are all these tyre tracks doing back here?" Velma wondered.
"Strange, the road's back there." Ben observed and pointed.
"Something smells fishy." Braedey added.
"Let's see where these tracks lead." Velma ordered, taking charge.
"Like, can't we follow them tomorrow?" Shaggy asked. "Like, after breakfast?"
"Come on. Get over here!" Braedey told him with a laugh, now following after Ben and Velma.
"I guess not." Shaggy gulped to Scooby as tue two unwillingly followed the rest of the group.
There was then howling wind in the air. Braedey, Ben, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby all look around to make sure they weren't being followed by any uninvited visitors or even the ghost. The group then stopped as they saw an old barn house far away and they saw Mayor Corey stepping out of the barn, looking around as if trying not to be seen and began to walk away.
"Jinkies! It's the mayor!" Velma gasped silently.
"What's he doing out here?" Ben wondered.
"And why at this time of night?" Braedey also asked.
"Scooby, Braedey and Shaggy will follow the mayor." Velma replied.
"We will?" Braedey asked in surprise.
"Okay, then you all can search the barn and we'll follow the mayor." Velma compromised.
"On second thought, we'll take the mayor." Shaggy answered, after looking at the creepy barn. "He'll never know we're on his tail, huh guys?"
"Reah." Scooby answered with a laugh.
"Let's go." Braedey nodded.
With that, Braedey followed after Shaggy and Scooby to go after Mayor Corey, Ben and Velma going forth to see what's inside of the barn.
With Fred, Daphne, and Willow, the former two were making their way along through the forest, the latter keeping an eye behind them to make sure nothing will surprise them. But all the while, Willow couldn't help but listen in to the blonde and redhead's conversation.
Daphne turned to Fred. "So Fred, why do you always pair us up?" She asked softly to him.
Fred seemed rather stumped to answer. "Uh, well, I thought about that for the longest time and there's never been a good time to tell you, maybe it's time that I, well, that I-"
"Guys, hide." Willow hissed to them.
The three of them hide in the bushes as they could see the Hex Girls walking down the path, the three of them possibly finished with practicing for the concert.
"I think we'll have to preform our ritual, girls." Thorn spoke first.
"Not tonight. Thorn. My powers are weak from rehearsing." Dusk replied back.
"Mine too. How about tomorrow, just before the concert?" Luna suggest.
Thorn turned to them. "Never mind, I'll do it myself. See you in the morning." She held out her hands in a vampiric-like fashion. "Bad dreams, sisters."
Dusk and Luna do the same pose. "Bad dreams, sister Thorn." With that, the three girls go their separate ways, while Fred, Daphne, and Willow now peeking out of the bushes to see.
'Bad dreams?' Willow wondered in confusion.
"Thorn seems like the leader. Let's follow her." Fred suggested to the two girls.
"Are you sure you're not just stuck on Thorn, Freddy?" Daphne asked cheekily. Fred just ignored Daphne's words, as they headed off to follow Thorn.
As they followed on, Thorn was walking her way home, Willow, Fred and Daphne sneaking up to see her walking over to a small garage. The three of them sneak up and as the lights turn on the Garage. Fred, Daphne, and Willow all look through the small window to see Thorn doing a magic spell, much to their shock, and they hide.
"What's she up to?" Fred whispered to the two girls.
"If I didn't know better... I say that she's a witch." Daphne whispered back, as she and Willow looked to see Thorn smelling the magic potion.
Meanwhile, Braedey was now with the Great Dane and cowardly teen, snooping around to see what the mayor could be up to. They kept looking and spied all around. Braedey now noticed a lot of suspicious happenings and jotted them down in his notepad to keep track to show Ben and Velma. They followed the mayor well into town, but they had to avoid being seen. Shaggy and Scooby disguised as a teenage couple and Braedey hid underneath the bench they were sitting on as they mayor passed by them.
"Ah, young love." Mayor Corey smiled, then walked on.
Shaggy, Scooby and Braedey looked back at him as he continued to walk on. They then continued to follow him carefully.
"Like, he won't ditch us that easily." Shaggy added.
"Shaggy? Scooby?" The two stopped with Braedey as they now looked over to see, to their surprise, three familiar faces.
The first is Scorcher: a lean, muscular young man of average height with a slightly tan skin tone, black eyes, spiky pink-colour hair, and has abnormal sharp canines; he has a scar on the right side of his neck, hidden by his scarf. He has on an open-collar, one-sleeved long black overcoat, which is tucked in. The sleeve covers his left arm with a faux leather brown armband, leaving his mark, as well as his entire right arm, consequently exposed, a leather brown belt around his waist with an oval-shaped silver buckle, white knee-length trousers with black ribbon ties, a thick black wristband on his left wrist, and black open-toed sandals.
The second person is Sheeva: a woman with short jaw-length violet-coloured hair and green eyes with a round face, her skin having a gentle tone. She has a slender yet curvy hourglass body. Her attire consists of a lime green-coloured blouse with a green neckline and trim, complimented by a long, white skirt. She is also wearing green boots.
The third person is Amber: a woman with long orange hair and light brown eyes. Many people can consider her to be very attractive or even beautiful. Her hair is rather long, reaching down to her lower back. She has a developed chest, her body curves and she has an hourglass figure that is more pronounced. Her outfit is a white sleeveless top, plus a pale purple thigh-length frilly skirt, and a pair of sneakers.
"Hey, you three." Amber greeted, bringing Braedey into a hug, the latter hugging her back.
"What are you guys doing out here in the dark of the night?" Scorcher asked.
"Like, we're trying to follow the mayor, since he's been acting suspicious and stuff." Shaggy explained. "The others are looking around for clues as well."
"Guess we can come along to see what's up in the Nick of time." Sheeva shrugged innocently.
"Let's go." Amber smirked at them.
There was then screeching noises as the group of six drew closer. Braedey crept around and looked to make sure they would be safe. Braedey looked about. The Mayor was nowhere to be seen, much to their surprise.
"Like, where do you guys think he went?" Shaggy wondered.
"I ron't rhow." Scooby replied.
"It's like he vanished in thin air!" Braedey gasped.
"But that's not possible." Sheeva noted.
"Especially for that guy." Amber agreed.
They kept going closer. They heard wood creaking noises and heard a frightening, familiar voice. "How dare you disturb my resting place?" The ghost demanded, making them all look up in fear and alarm.
"What the hell is that?!" Sheeva screamed.
"The Witch's Ghost!" Braedey cried out. Shaggy and Scooby screamed and tried to run extra fast this time to get away.
"This town will pay!" The ghost hissed.
"Send them a bill, but leave us alone!" Shaggy screamed.
The duo kept screaming and running, Scorcher, Sheeva, and Amber running after them. Just then, they were back on the streets to avoid the ghost, and bumped into Ben and Velma. Ben and Velma's glasses were all knocked off. Ben and Velma patted the ground to get their glasses back.
"I can't see a thing without my glasses..." Ben groaned.
"Oh, me either." Velma added as they grabbed their glasses. Ben and Velma then realised they had on each other's glasses.
"Sorry." The two apologised together and they put each other's right glasses on.
"Ben Ravencroft..." Scorcher realised once he saw the author.
"Hey, what's going on?" Fred asked as he walked with Daphne and Willow down the street to meet up.
"What happened?" Willow asked.
"Ask Scooby and Shaggy." Velma replied.
"Where are they?" Daphne asked, looking around for them.
"That's no mystery. They're right there inside the mail box." Braedey pointed to the cowardly teen and Great Dane shaking and whimpering with fear inside the mail carrier.
"So, what happened, guys?" Velma asked.
"Like, we followed the Mayor to some warehouse and that ghost attacked us." Shaggy responded.
"He did?" Velma scratched her chin. "There goes my cherry picker theory."
"Cherry picker theory?" Fred asked.
"What?" Braedey looked around.
"Where?" Amber asked.
"Who?" Sheeva asked next.
"Oh, nothing." Velma giggled.
"Wait til you hear what we saw at Thorn's place." Fred added.
"Also, we met Scorcher, Sheeva, and Amber earlier." Braedey added in.
"Good to see you." Scorcher saluted.
"Hey, like, we were reporting first." Shaggy said. "Right, Scoob?"
"Reah!" Scooby agreed.
"The mayor's one busy guy and dropping things off." Shaggy explained as he and Scooby got out of the mail carrier and landed on top of each other on the sidewalk.
"Like what?" Velma asked.
"What's going on, here?" Mayor Corey walked over, brushing himself. Braedey stood behind Daphne as he saw him, Scooby and Shaggy. "What's the big idea running over me?"
Scooby and Shaggy then hid back away as Braedey buried his face in his hands.
Later, everyone met back up at the warehouse, standing by the Scooby and Shaggy holes in the wall.
"As you can see, there's nothing here, except for the damaged wall." Mayor Corey told the group, Shaggy and Scooby peeking through the holes in the wall innocently.
"Sorry about that, Mr. Mayor." Braedey apologised to the mayor, Willow gently holding his hand. "Scooby and Shaggy just lose it when they get scared."
"I agree." Sheeva nodded. "Not healthy."
"I'm worried staying in Oakhaven might be just too much of a frightening experience for friends like Scooby and Shaggy." Velma stated. "I think we should leave."
"Sorry to hear about that." Mayor Corey understood, and he walked off.
"But, I need to get one more clue before the night is over." Velma said to the others. "Then I think I can solve the mystery of the witch's ghost before tomorrow's autumn fest."
"Oh, great, I'll do anything to help." Ben put a hand on her shoulder.
"Like, I should've known leaving wasn't an option." Shaggy groaned, Scooby also shaking his head.
"What was all that about, Velma?" Daphne asked her friend.
"Here's what we're gonna do." Velma said as she was about to tell her plan to everyone, so they could catch the Witch's Ghost once and for all, and solve the mystery before the night was through.
