Ben rushed over, shoving Braedey away and knelt down to get the box. Daphne and Willow picked Braedey up, as he dusted himself clean and stood by the women's side.
"Mr. Ravencroft, are you okay?" Willow asked.
"Just... a little excited..." Ben replied, now taking a deep breath. Luckily for him, the box was unlocked. He saw the book which looked more like a demonic book than a wiccan heal book.
"Looks kinda evil to belong to a Wiccan healer." Daphne observed uneasily.
"Ben, this doesn't seem to be a journal at all." Velma added in as Ben flipped through the pages.
"Because it isn't Velma." Ben now glared at her with a frightening smile, something that Ben never pulled. "Sarah isn't a Wiccan, she is indeed... a witch."
Everyone gasped in shock and fear. They have been deceived.
"A real witch?" Thorn shuddered.
"Heavy." Dusk added in.
"And I know about your little magical bloodline." Ben then pointed to Scorcher and Sheeva. "The descendants of the most secretive sorcerers and sorceresses in the world."
'What?' Scorcher thought in bewilderment and shock, Amber looking to him as well. 'He knows about our family history?'
"And since Sarah's blood runs in my veins, I guess that makes me a warlock." Ben proclaimed with pride.
"Warlock?" Shaggy and Scooby asked each other, scaredly.
"The Wiccans and three sorcerers and sorceress all imprisoned Sarah within her own spell book, and you helped me find it." Ben smirked at the Mystery Inc. gang and the Hex Girls. He then looked down as Braedey tried to scurry away, but he grabbed the little boy by his collar. "You were right to be suspicious of me, what a bright child you are... But I'm afraid you know too much and must be enslaved like everyone else in this pitiful world deserves because of Sarah!"
"You lied to us, Ben!" Velma hissed.
"Well, gee, I had to." Ben replied. "And now I suppose you all wanna know WHY I did this... Okay, I'll tell you! I've been searching for years. Then I read about your exploits, and I knew if anyone could help me find the book, it was you and your friends. I orchestrated the whole junkyard scheme, paying off the workers, just to lure you to the old junkyard so we could meet. Yes, Velma, I tricked you into helping me and it worked."
"Crab-baskets..." Amber muttered.
"And you were in on Ben's plan too!" Fred pointed an accusing finger to Mayor Corey and Mr. McKnight.
"No, we're just as surprised as you are!" the mayor replied. "H-Honest!"
"For once, he's telling the truth." Ben remarked at the mayor's words. "That stupid fake ghost was the town's idea, but it did work to my advantage."
"Why go through with this elaborate scheme?" Daphne asked.
"Why not just ask them to find the book?" Willow asked to Ben with some rising anger.
"I know why." Velma spoke up. "Because if we knew what that book was, we would have never helped him!"
"But even you all can't imagine the real power of this book." Ben replied. "No mere mortal can."
"You've been reading too many of your own horror stories, Ravencroft." Fred snapped.
"A typical mortal response." Ben rolled his eyes at Fred's words. "But I am descended from a superior breed. I shall unlock the power of the imprisoned Sarah Ravencroft!"
"NO!" Braedey yelped.
"Oh, shut up, you little brat!" Ben growled at him. "I bet you were an accidental birth..." He suddenly threw Braedey against a nearby tree, and it snapped right it in half, as Braedey fell limp.
"Braedey!" Willow ran over to the downed little boy, kneeling down to him. She then glared at Ben. "How dare you...!"
"Like, I don't like the sound of this." Shaggy moaned.
"Re reither!" Scooby agreed.
"Together, we shall reign supreme!" Ben praised himself, as he now held the book open as started to recite a section on the page. "'Let the evil from the past breathe again with fiery blast'!" The clouds grew darker and swirled into a vortex-like shape with a green blast in the book. "'Let the dark wind whip the night'!"
"Like, I don't want a black light!" Shaggy cried.
"NOOO!" Velma cringed. The wind was so strong, it blew one of the trees away!
"Now, I summon ancient power!" Ben grew more power-hungry, much to everyone's horror.
"Ben, please stop!" Velma pleaded.
"This is evil's finest hour!" Ben laughed wickedly as more green lasers shot up at the sky to frighten everyone of his supernatural power. He was then hit with the lasers and made more powerful than ever, and he cackled out in an evil manner.
"NO!" Velma rushed to him to try to stop him.
"What's the matter, Velma?" Ben slid off his glasses. "Don't you like the new and improved Ben Ravencroft?"
"No, frankly I don't!" Velma sneered.
"Well, get used to it!" Ben barked at her. He then turned to see the mayor and Mr. McKnight. Once they caught Ben looking at them, the two now ran away scaredly. "Leaving so soon?" Ben released his power from his hands on the two men. "The party's just beginning!" Ben made his magical attack force the older men into the stocks, and locked them up.
"Let us out!" Mayor Corey cried.
"Daddy!" Thorn cried, rushing to her father with Dusk and Luna.
"Oh, how deeply moving." Ben mocked sympathy and used his powers to tie the Hex Girls to each other, trapping them. "Can I spin a yarn or what?"
"How could I have ever liked your novels?" Velma mumbled to herself.
Ben now turned and looked to see Scorcher and the other two were gone. They must've run off. Ben now turned to see Braedey and Willow, the two of them shaking like a leaf. "Let's see... What shall I do with you two? Shrink you to size? Torture you to death? Skin you? EAT you!? Hmm..."
"GET AWAY FROM THEM!!" Scorcher suddenly flew forward, but with his right fist engulfed in red/orange fire. "Demon Fist Burner!!" He chants, and he punched Ben away, making him tumble across the ground.
Willow and Braedey looked to see Scorcher with his right arm engulfed by flames, but it wasn't burning him. Scorcher snapped his fingers, the flames vanishing as he looked to the two. "Willow, get to Fred and the girls, and I'll get Braedey out of here." He ordered.
"What for?" Willow asked.
"Just do it!" Scorcher leaped over and grabbed Braedey, now heading off to the trees, Willow running over to Fred, Daphne, and Velma.
Ben growled as he got to his feet, now seeing the little boy gone, as well as for Scorcher. He then leaped up onto a rooftop without hesitation. "This isn't one of your silly little mysteries. You can't solve me so easily." He then held out a hand, and formed a fire ring around Fred, Velma, Sheeva, Willow, and Daphne.
Over by the trees, Braedey could see what's going on. "Oh, no..." He was about to run out, only for Scorcher to stop him. "Scorcher..."
"Braedey, stop. You can't help them at this current stage." Scorcher said to him.
"Then what can I do?" Braedey asked back, just as Amber walked up with two other figures.
Alongside Amber is none other than Ryōshi and Ōkami. Ryōshi is a muscular man of average height with lightly tanned skin. He carries three swords, bundled up with a green haramaki over his right hip, allowing him to easily draw them with his left hand. He has three identical gold earrings on his left earlobe, a black bandana tied around his left bicep. He also has cropped green hair that's shaggy while slicked back. He has a scar running down over his left eye, which is implied to be critically injured as it is closed. He's wearing a long, open dark-green coat closed on his waist and held by a red sash, in which his three swords are tucked into, and his black bandanna is tied around his left forearm. His coat exposes his bare chest, revealing his green haramaki underneath the coat.
Ōkami is a quadrupedal yellow eyed, azure and white fur-coloured wolf-like creature with a coral red nose and lower jaw, small coral red wing blade-like fur, long matching colored braid-like fur and a coral red tail in a triangle shape. It has on a gold armour with wing-like plates on its front legs, smaller plates on its hind legs, and a crown-like helmet. It seems to carry a golden sword with azure and coral red-colour gems in its mouth.
"Ryōshi... Ōkami..." Braedey whispered in surprise.
"A warlock... to think that we had already dealt with magic and the supernatural back on Moonscar Island." Ryōshi said silently, looking over at Ben Ravencroft.
"What are you and Ōkami doing here?" Braedey asked.
"We sensed something amiss in this area, so we had travelled a long way to see." Ryōshi replied, Ōkami gently brushing its head against Braedey's shoulder. "Ōkami has been looking around for most of the day, and he found something at a burnt tree just outside of the puritan village."
Amber now brought up some old yet still intact books, each one with a marking of a flame, a wave, and a bolt of lightning. "Ōkami managed to find these old books, each one that's related to us."
"How?" Braedey asked.
Scorcher began to explain what he has found in the old books. It turns out that many years ago, three masters of sorcery by the names of Blaze, Venton, and Benjamin defended the planet Earth thanks to their magic based on the three powerful elements: fire, water, and lightning. But then, they discovered the dark secret of Sarah Ravencroft, so the trio of sorcery travelled to Oakhaven to do battle against the evil witch. The trio were much stronger and far more powerful than Sarah, and they eventually weakening and defeating her. Eventually, Benjamin grabbed her book and sealed Sarah inside of it. And to make sure nobody would try and release her again, Blaze buried the book inside a box under the tree where Sarah once stood so she could never be freed again. After all of that, the three of them decided to write books of their elements to defeat the witch if she was ever freed.
"Right. But, what does this have to do with us?" Braedey asked to Scorcher and Amber.
"Blaze and myself have discovered we're related to these beings. We are the descendants of Blaze." Amber informed to him, handing the blue book to Braedey. "And you are the descendant of Benjamin Martin." She stated, much to his surprise.
"No... no way..." Braedey muttered in surprise. He then felt something glow and heat up on him, and he looked to his leg to see a wave marking glowing blue. "What is..."
"Yeah, same thing happened with ours." Scorcher showed his marking, which is of a fireball, and it too was glowing red. "We are related to Blaze, so we can control fire. You are related to Benjamin, so you now have the control of water. Use the books to your advantage, or think on the fly." He advised, now getting up with the others.
Braedey looked to his marking, then to his book in hand. He sighed, now holding the book close as it flowed a gentle blue. He can feel the energy emanating from it, his eyes glowing blue in response to this. He nodded to Scorcher, and they headed off.
Ben scoffed. "Enough of this minor magic. I want to see how powerful I can really be. It's time to summon Sarah Ravencroft!"
"You won't get away with this, Ben Ravencroft!" Velma snapped.
"Why?" Ben taunted. "Because of you meddling kids?"
"Hey, we're not kids!" Fred sneered at Ben's words.
Ben cracked open the book to an awakening spell. "'Dreadful darkness, hear my cry, bring back one who cannot die'!" He recited.
Just then, the Mystery Machine drove up, and tried to knock the book out of Ben's hands and it landed by Willow's hands. Willow grabbed the book with a smile and closed it to put an end to this never-ending nightmare. Suddenly, a blast of water shot out from somewhere, and that, accompanied by the dust from the tyres, puts out the fire to free the rest of the group. Scooby opened the van doors with a victorious smile.
"Scooby!" Willow cheered.
"Are we ever glad to see you?" Daphne felt relieved.
Willow still had the book in his hands and followed the others inside the Mystery Machine. She turned to see Braedey, Scorcher, and Amber. They leaped into the van, and Shaggy began to drive away at once.
"Nice going, guys." Fred praised as Shaggy drove.
"Like, we're going, all right, away from Witchville." Shaggy replied, now focusing on driving.
"You got the book, Willow?" Velma was surprised.
"It wasn't easy." Willow said, holding the book close.
Just then, Ben jumped over the van to face everyone, and everyone all screamed. "GIVE ME BACK THAT BOOK!" Ben yelled. But then, he disappeared from sight.
"Where... where did he go?" Willow asked, worriedly.
Her question was answered once Ben smashed the top of the van with his hand. Everyone screamed and Braedey went closer to his mother as she held him close to keep him safe. Scorcher snarled and gripped Ben's hand, his hands smoking as he began to burn Ben, forcing the warlock to get away.
"Eat this!" Braedey held out his hands, now shooting a blast of water, knocking Ben off of the van's roof. It wasn't very strong, but it was enough to knock Ben off.
Ben snarled. He then used his powers to blow out one of the van's tyres and he got off with the book, but Scooby nabbed the book from him.
"You're the man, Scoob!" Shaggy cheered, then his driving got a little rocky due to the lost tyre. The Mystery Machine then crashed inside the gift shop, and as they got out, the whole shop crumbled down into a pile of broken wood and dust.
"Not the gift shop!" Mayor Corey cried out in dismay.
Ben then fired more lasers at the van to make another tyre blow out. The Mystery Machine then crashed in front of the several hay stacks.
"Like, I think I'm starting to get the hang of this." Shaggy said as he kept driving. Shaggy then nearly crashed Mayor Corey and Mr. McKnight in the stocks, and they all screamed, but Shaggy steered the van away.
Ben growled as the van hit through a turkey farm, but no one was hurt, thankfully. Ben then fired a ball to hit another tyre, and the van was close to crashing and skidding out of control.
"Well, at least we still have one tyre left." Braedey added, shrugging his shoulders.
Another tyre was hit, but this time, without Ben's magic, and the van was skidding across the ground close to Mr. McKnight and Mayor Corey. As this happened, Braedey smacked his mouth, wishing he hadn't said that. Willow couldn't help but snicker. Luckily, they weren't hurt and they looked around. But Ben was nowhere to be found, and the windshield was shattered to pieces, so there was nothing to 'shield the wind'.
"Where is he?" Willow wondered, Braedey picking up the evil book.
"Is he gone?" Fred asked.
"I don't think so." Braedey took the book from Scooby. The boy then let out a terrified scream as Ben jumped down down in front of all of them.
"I'll take that!" Ben swiped the book from him. Not only that, but he punched his face and kneed his stomach, making him fall back as Braedey and the others all watched in horror. Ben then leapt away with a backflip, as everyone watched him and it seemed as though this would be the first time Mystery Inc. has actually lost a battle against a bad guy. "Now, where was I?"
"Oh, no..." Braedey muttered.
Ben cracked open the book and flipped through the pages to awaken Sarah Ravencroft from the dead. "'Dreadful darkness, hear my cry... Bring back one who cannot die... Let the witch who perished here... Live again and reappear'!"
Ben finished the spell, which made an unholy green glow filled the air and everyone gathered together as it seemed as though they were all doomed.
