The spell of Shattered Sight.

It was coming.

And there was nothing to stop it.

Storybrooke's resident hero's and villains had gathered once again to face the oncoming curse head-on at the top of the clock tower that overshadowed the town as the glittering grey cloud slowly descended upon the sleepy town.

With Emma returning to the fold with a new found hold on her powers she and Elsa stood at the front of the clock face that had been opened to look at the spell themselves using a pair of binoculars with Leroy.

The redhead couldn't help but to feel apprehensive at the thought of her worst self coming to light. She knew what that looked like already. Everyone in the clock tower did with the exception of her own son and Henry.

The Black Widow had been inching to climb out of the deep whole Amelia had put her in. And this spell would give her the exact opportunity she was looking for.

"Belle was right" Elsa started as she looked through the pair of binoculars "My aunt it actually doing this" she says handing then to Mary Margaret.

"The spell of shattered sight" Mary Margaret whispered as she looked through them before handing them to her husband.

"We open the mines and the vault" David suggests "We take shelter there".

"This is magic" Regina reminds the Prince taking the binoculars from him bypassing the assassin who stood in between them who's eyes shone a dull gold as stared at the spell herself "It doesn't care about ceilings. It's started".

"How long?" Hook asked the sorceress.

"By sundown" she calculated "By sundown, everyone in this town will start... Tearing each other apart".

Hearing the queen's answer the assassin's eyes fell in dread before they opened again back to their normal color.

"Okay. The answer is simple" Emma spoke up "Let's not be in town".

The answer took the Charming's and co. to the ice wall that trapped them all in the town. "Hardly an elegant solution" Regina commented looking up at the hundred-foot wall.

"Nothing wrong with brute force if it works" Emma tells the older woman. As David and Amelia step forward ready for the next part of the plan.

"If we can get over, we can build a frame, take people over one at a time" Leroy added as David and Amelia gave each other a look and a sharp nod of understanding knowing what they needed to do.

Out of all of them Amelia was the best climber, she volunteered to be the one to climb to the top with the Prince giving her a boost from the foot of the ice wall, the same way he did when she needed to get into the Dark Castle. Only this time she was hoping that there weren't any fire traps to singe her on her way up.

"Lia. Please be careful" Mary Margaret chimes to her old friend as David hands the rope over to to the redhead before throwing the pick-axe to the woman who easily caught it as they approached the wall.

"When haven't I?" the redhead says to the younger woman as she walks by her giving the former Princess a confident wink before the pair approached the wall.

Turning his back to wall the Prince he braced his knees and crouched down with his hands cupped as the assassin draped the rope across her shoulder's keeping it in place as she held the pick-axe in one hand before taking a few strides backwards.

"Are you sure about this?" David asked her to wait for her run up.

"It'll be fun" she shrugged jumping on her the balls of her feet. Dashing forward the assassin ran at the man her boot crunching under the snow and ice that covered the cement road at the base of the wall aiming for his cupped hands. With her foot in place she used all the muscle strength she had to propel herself up as the prince pushed will all his strength.

A smile of awe and wonder grew on the teen's face as he watched his mother seemingly flew up the side of the wall as she pulled back her arm that held the pick-axe using all her might to send the pointed tool into ice.

However, once the pick-axe met the ice the wall defended itself as a large icicle grew where the assassin had made contact, throwing its assailant back onto the snow covered ground. The assassin had to twist herself mid-air in a way so that she could land in her side as the prince below her jumped out of the way. Thankfully the thick snow covering on the ground had taken most of the heavy landing. But it wasn't as thick as the snow she free fell into in Arendelle.

"Lia! Mom" her family yelled out as they rushed forward including and Elsa to check on the hurt red head as the former Queen felt her heart stop for a minute before she saw the assassin trying to push herself off the ground.

"You okay?" Emma asked the assassin as she and Tom helped the assassin onto her feet again.

"Not really" she groaned out as the world around spun for a minute before settling back as she felt Tom's arm wrap around her shoulder as she clutched on him as he took her back to Regina and Henry.

"Look's like that wall doesn't care much for you brute force" Regina comments to the redhead.

"No kidding" the redhead scoffed a laugh at the woman.

"Is everyone into this hope thing now?" Regina addressed the group as they all re-grouped after failing Plan A of fleeing the curse.

"If we're gonna win, we need to stop wasting time" Emma addressed the other's "Mom, Dad, Leroy, go tell everyone what's going on. When this goes down, everyone needs to be separated from their loved ones if they don't want to hurt each other" her parents and the dwarf nodded to her orders before heading back to their cars "Killian, go to waterfront to see if we can use boats to get some people out".

"I have to warn Robin" Amelia spoke up from next to Regina "His camp's not far from here".

Emma nodded at the redhead's request "Okay, go. Elsa and I are gonna talk to Gold, see if he has any ideas. Henry, you come with us" the blonde tells her son.

"No" Regina protests to the woman "He's with us" Regina argued with the blonde "We're his best chance".

"That might not be true" Elsa chimed in "Emma and I? I think we're immune" Elsa tells them.

"What?".

Elsa and Emma held out their wrists showing the others the yellow ribbon that appeared on their wrist the previous night "These ribbons. If the Snow Queen wants us to be her sisters, then the curse won't affect us".

"So, I should definitely watch Henry" Emma argues.

"No. You're part of this nut job's plan. I want Henry near me as long as it's safe for him".

"It's okay, mom. I'll be fine with her" Henry reassured his birth mother.

"Be careful, kid" the blonde tells him before bringing him into a tight embrace.

"We gotta go. This is happening now" Regina warned the group as the purple cloud grew larger above them.

The group dispersed into their parts of the plan to keep the town safe. Regina was already heading into the woods with Tom and Henry as Amelia hesitated looking back at the retreating pirate.

She needed to find John too. She had to warn. Despite the question mark that hovered over their relationship he was still Tom's father, she owed it to him after the other night. If she knew him well enough, and she did. He'd be spending his time near the waterfront somewhere Hook was headed.

"Jones!" Amelia called after the pirate, her voice made him stop and turn back to see the redhead approaching him "If you see John…".

"I'll send him home" he reassures her with a nod.

"Thank you" she whispered before running into the woods with Regina and the boys.

Regina and the boys waited on the edge of Robin Hoods camp as the redhead walked into camp to warn her loyalist friend about the spell that would tear the Merry Men apart only to stop shy seeing Robin and Roland together. The world seemed to melt around her as she saw the father teach his son part of an arrow that he held in his hand. She loved watching these moments in Enchanted Forest as she and Robin planned out their life together.

This is what she wanted a long time ago, in a world where Angelo hadn't found them. John and Tom sat together on the steps on the Godspeed with a piece of rope in their hands as the latter tried his best to mirror him father's actions. Showing him all the different knots she had once leaned from her own father. She hadn't realized she wasn't the only one watching the father and son moment as her eye's found John's on the other side of camp watching the same moment until he saw her.

"Milady" Robin's voice caught her attention as she comes out of her thoughts to make her feet move forward to meet him halfway as he stood up from his seat with Roland.

"The spell. It's happening" she tells him straight, knowing there was no point of beating around the bush with him "You and your men need to scatter. All together like this with all these weapons? You'll kill each other once the spell hits" Robin nodded turning his head to seek out a fellow merry man that had recently rejoined their ranks.

"Will! Will Scarlet!" he called out. Said man poked his head out of a tent nearby having clearly heard his name being called out. It seemed that the thieves had mended fences behind the drama or Marian and John. At least something had gone right in this whole mess.

"There's no need to yell" Will tells him "I'm just here Robin" the thief's eyes turn to see Amelia stood nearby "Bloody Hell, what she doing here".

"Saving your ass, if you don't listen to Robin" she tells him.

"Will. Emergency. Break camp" Robin instructed turning to help his men scatter only to feel this hand being tugged back to see that it was the woman that been desperately trying to get him to fall back in love with his wife looking at him with fear in her eye's.

"What is it?" the thief asks her in concern.

"I need you to stay safe. Once this spell hits-" she chokes out.

"I know, I know" he hushes her placing his forehead against her's, allowing her to feel his warmth radiate from him. The gesture had always calmed her down and it was working know as she fretted about becoming the Black Widow again under the spell that was coming.

"Promise me you'll stay safe" she tells the man once she composed herself.

"Always my lady" he says before pulling himself away from her to continue to break the Merry Men's camp as John crosses over to speak to her.

"What are you doing here?" was the first thing she said to her husband since leaving the apartment the other day.

"Hook found me" John tells her "He told me what was going on, I figured this was the first place you'd go".

"John-" she sighed out. She didn't want to do this now.

"Look, I'm sorry about-" he tried to apologize for their fight only be interrupted.

"We don't have time for that right now" she tells him seeing how scared she really was about this spell that was coming for them.

"Amy what's happening?" he asked his wife in slight alarm as he stepped closer to her.

"You need to go home and lock yourself in the apartment, there's a spell coming that turn everyone into their worse selves".

"What about you and Tom?" he ask forcefully taking her hands into his.

"We're sorting out the boys. They be safe away from each other and more importantly us".

"And you?" he gulped out.

"Regina's going to lock me in her vault. If the Black Widow got out there would be a bloodbath" she almost choked out with tears brimming in her eye's "We will talk about the other day, about everything. Once the spell has passed over we can figure out where we go from here" he gives her a silent nod as she grips his hand tighter in hers. He could feel her shaking like a leaf. She was scared.

"Your shaking Amy" he tells her trying his best to stop it as she looks into his eyes seing the love that still remained for her in them "What is it?".

"Nothing. I'm just trying to memorize you like this".

"Like what? Nervous and alarmed?" he asked with nervous smile.

"No, with love in your eye's. I told you what this spell is going to do. Since you came back my worst fear has been for you to see the Black Widow, you saw part of her the other day, but this, this may push you over the edge of the person I became after I lost you and Tom. The thought of you looking at me the way everyone else did. That just might kill me".

"Stop thinking like that" he said cupping her face lovingly resting his forehead on her her's the action seemed to calm the assassin down as she seemed to breathe a little deeper "I couldn't stop loving you no matter what you became".

"Then you truly haven't met the Black Widow" she suddenly says making him take a step away from her as he looked at her in worry "You need to trust me on this. Once you see her..you'll wish you had never met me".

"Amelia-".

"Go home and don't look back" with that Amelia turned on her heel to find Regina and boys, leaving the first man she ever loved behind her.

There had been one good thing that had come from their failed attempted of fleeing the town. In a crack that had appeared at the base of the wall where Amelia had fallen. Elsa had found a necklace she had once given to Anna. With a drop of a locator spell the glowing necklace had led Emma and Elsa to the tunnels underneath the library that had once housed a dragon named Maleficent for 28 years.

The search had come to abrupt end once they had hit a dead end with the necklace glowing the brightest. With the hope of getting through the dead end, everyone had gathered in the library as they looked over the blueprints that mapped out the whole system. With Amelia Regina and Emma on one side of the table, Mary Margaret Leroy and David stood on the other side with Elsa hovering close by for news of getting to her sister.

Meanwhile Belle and Fairies had set up shop in the diner working on a counter spell against the incoming spell. It was a long shot, but whatever stopped the Evil Queen and Black Widow coming out to play she was willing to do just about anything to stop that from happening.

"Sure, me and the guys can clear the tunnel" Leroy informs them "We'll have to work careful, but we can do it" he says as David's phone rings.

"Let's go now" Elsa chimes in over the dwarf's shoulder, as David excuses himself form the group to answer the call.

"Look at this mess" Regina lightly scolds the new mayoress "A good mayor checks that these things are kept up to code" the former mayor tells her 'successor'.

"Yeah, well, if the mayor only has to worry about one villain, and it's herself, that frees up a lot of time for infrastructure" Mary Margaret retorts "I've had other issues".

"She does have a point" Amelia chime in, in support of the newest mayor and whats she's had to contend with since coming into power earning a pointed glare from the former Queen.

"Leroy, how long to clear the passage?" Emma asks the dwarf keeping the discussion on track.

"Couple of hours, maybe" he answers "We can get right on it".

"That's wonderful" Elsa speaks up hearing the good news.

"We don't have a couple hours" Regina reminds the group "Have you guys not been watching the clock? It'll be sundown before you munchkins finish".

"Dwarfs, sister" Leroy curtly corrects the former Queen.

"Like I care" she scoffs at him "Let's just blast through and take the risk" she suggests" as David rejoins the group at the table.

"That was Belle over at the diner" he announces "It turns out they can possibly make the counter spell even if we don't find Anna. They can pull the mirror dust out of the necklace and try to use that".

"It's exactly the same?" Mary Margaret asks him.

"Almost. It'll take a little longer. The process is difficult and... It will destroy the necklace".

"So the necklace can either save all of us or Anna" Emma summarizes.

"No" Elsa called out in protest hearing the latest development "It can do both. We have time".

"We don't" Regina reminds them "Exploring these tunnels could take days".

"So what'll it be, folks?" Leroy speaks up looking at the others to make the decision "Save the town or find the sister?".

It was an impossible choice. Do they save the town from tearing itself apart or save someone they had promised to save. The many for the few. A decision she's had to make too many times during her tenure as Monteriggioni's 'leader'. Most often than not it was life or death. One's she couldn't let Paola take care of. The decision had to come from her to have some sort backbone to it otherwise its residents would see her as a weak, unworthy leader.

Not all her decisions made everyone happy of course, but those who weren't learned to live with it because they knew life was better with the city's walls than outside them.

"This shouldn't even be a conversation" Regina argued opening up the discussion as Elsa waited for them in the entrance "If we don't get the necklace to the fairies right now, we and all our loved ones will be hit by this vicious spell. It's one woman's life versus a whole town".

"Maybe we just haven't found an option where we don't have to lose anyone" Emma chimed in.

A loophole. Of all the times they needed one, the chance of one became smaller by the second as the spell continued its charge over the town.

"Mm, you're talking like a hero" Mary Margret tuned in hearing the hope in her daughter's voice as anguish passed over the younger woman's face at the decision right in front of her.

"Yes, like all you Charming's always do. But right now that's not your job" Regina tells the family "You're more than heroes. You're leaders, which means making the tough choice where someone has to lose, and you have to say who".

She knew what the former Princess had to choose. There was no brighter side to this decision. Either they find Anna and let the town fall, or save the town and let Anna be lost to them.

"I agree with Regina. You're right"." she suddenly says looking straight at the older woman, making Regina look between the redhead and blonde either side of her in disbelief.

"Yeah, I heard it, too" Emma tells the former Queen.

"We need to do what's best for the most people" Mary Margaret continued "We need to give this town its best chance".

Looking at his daughter the former Prince makes the final decision for the group "I'm so sorry, but we have to let the fairies destroy that necklace" at that Emma was the one to give the Ice Queen the bad news at the other rounded the table to watch Elsa hand the necklace over to Emma.

"This can't be easy" David commented watching the quiet scene in front of them.

"It's not" Amelia speaks up for the first time during the whole discussion as she watched her friends only hope of finding her sister be taken away from her, making the other three look at her as Emma returns to them with the blue pouch with the necklace in, giving it to her parents.

At the same time the assassin stepped forward until she's stood directly opposite the elevator to see the necklace still in the ice queen's palms glowing bright as Elsa looks up feeling a pair of eyes on her. The last thing she see's is the sight of a proud smirk on the redhead's face giving her a small nod of encouragement before elevator doors slides shut.

No one in this room understood loving your little sister as much as she and Elsa did. Because she knew if it ever came between her or her sister. Nothing would stop her from getting to her. No one.

As much as she feared becoming the Widow again, she would be doing exactly what Elsa was doing. Put her sister over everyone else even if they hated you for it. Losing Anya was one of the worse thing that happened to her. Even it was to somewhere she was truly happiest in the world.

Amelia was the last to enter the diner to find the fairies as she followed the others in as they headed straight to Belle and Blue the necklace. She found her Uncle sat in a chair in one of the windows seemingly out of the way seeing an empty chair sat next to him.

"The necklace. Do you have it?" Belle greeted the group of hero's and villains as they entered the restaurant turned lab as the redhead took the empty seat next to her Uncle.

"It's right here" Emma answered handing the pouch over to the librarian.

Amelia braced herself as Mother Superior opened the pouch up as the others gathered around the table to see the fairy pour out pebble into her hand instead of the necklace she was promised.

"It's pebbles from the mine" the fairy tells the other's as she looks for an explanation from them.

"What?" the blonde savoir gasped seeing that they had been tricked.

"Where is it?" her mother asks her.

"She tricked us so she can use it... To keep tracking down her damn sister!" Regina growled out in frustration "I should know better than to trust blondes by now" she exasperated to herself.

"How about redheads?" the assassin spoke up from the her seat making them all whirl around to see her.

"You knew" Mary Margaret gaped at the older woman as she saw Regina look at her in a mix of confusion and betrayal. Out of everyone she would be wanting to stop the curse.

"None of you understand-" the former assassin started to argue.

"Hey! We don't have time to argue" Emma interrupted the argument "We should go back and get it".

"No, it's... It's too late" Bella informed them.

"Too late? Already?!" Mary Margaret exclaimed in disbelief.

"By the time you get back here, yes" the young brunette tell them "Without Anna being here physically, there's no way to make a counter spell in time".

"Time for a hope speech? Virtues of blind faith?" Regina asked looking at the former princess.

"Well, it seems Elsa's and Amelia's blind faith is exactly what's screwing us right now".

"Coming from you, that's just terrifying" her former step-mother states taken aback by her words towards the Ice Queen and the Assassin casually sat in the window.

"Bite me Madam Mayor" the redhead viciously spat at the new mayor as she stood by her decision to let the woman follow her 'blind faith'.

"Well, I'm not giving up" Emma tells them "I know she's down in the mines looking for Anna. I'm gonna go help Elsa find her".

"Well, then go" David sighs out "Because right now that's our only shot".

At that the savoir leaves the diner, leaving the redhead in the firing line of the other's.

"Amelia, we don't understand" Mary Margaret was the first to question her "Why?".

The redhead simply shrugged her shoulders at her "It's not my fault if you forgot how far you would all go if someone was missing or in trouble" she tells them "Seeing the lengths we've all gone through to get our family together, you should've all seen her trick a mile off" the assassin chastises the others "You can blame me all you want, but your were making a choice she was never going to agree with".

"She's right" Mary Margaret says with a frustrating sigh "We should've seen it".

"Your saying that a lot lately" she says getting back on her feet "Now if your all done stating the obvious we still have another curse to survive".

With the counter-spell out of their reach they needed to prepare for the worse as they waited for Emma to find Elsa again. For the former Widow and Queen it meant they needed to make sure that their son's were safe. That safe place came in the form of town hall as the pair rushed there with the boys before separating them into different rooms.

While Regina took Henry to her old office, Amelia took Tom to the town hall. She couldn't stop shaking as she guided him into the empty room where no one knew where he was and he couldn't hurt himself.

But that reassurance didn't make the object on her jacket pocket feel any lighter. No she had take an extra precaution with him. He had been trained how to defend himself which meant he could kill if he was pushed to do it. She wouldn't let him be like her. Not if she could help it anyway.

Coming to a stop in the middle of the hall she turned to him as she thunder rolled above them "Okay, you should be safe here" she tells her son as she takes his hands into her's.

"Mom everything will be okay" Tom tried to reassure his mother "We'll get thought this Elsa and Emma will fix this"

"I know. I'm so sorry about everything, I should've made sure you were okay. I let myself get distracted by Regina and..."

"I understand, you let your heart pull you somewhere else" he tells her.

"Operation Mongoose isn't over. We're gonna find the author, we're going to prove that everyone can get their happy ending even if they think they don't think it. Whatever it takes" she affirms with him.

"Whatever it takes" he repeats back.

"But first we need to survive. I'll lock you in, but more importantly, everyone else will be locked out. Including me" she gulped in fear of the Widow getting near him.

"You won't hurt me Mom" he tells her with furrow brows.

"I might not hurt you, but she might, I can't risk that".

"Don't be scared Mom, that's what the Snow Queen wants. We'll get through this, like we always have".

"You know, it's okay to be scared sometimes, right?".

"I know" he tells her as his eyes gave his emotion away. He was scared too.

Lifting up his hand she reached up the sleeve of her jacket as her fingers find the brown leather cord that lived on her wrist before threading down her hand onto his wrist that held the small metal pendant of Thor's hammer. The one she let Henry hold onto when he was visiting the Netherworld in his sleep, when he putting on a brave face for the adults in the room.

"Your Grandfather gave this to me to remind me that I always had the protection of the God's if I was ever parted from him. I want it to remind you that I will do whatever it takes to protect you even if the gods have long forgotten you. Do you understand?" she asks him as tears shimmered in his eyes at the piece of sentiment that she had shared with him.

At that the teen quickly engulfed her in a heart wrenching embrace that she quickly mirrored as she held him as tight as she could "Don't be scared Mom" he tells her again a she reached into her jacket pocket gently grasping it the slim item that made the moment all the more heartbreaking for the assassin.

"I love you" she tell him as she a poised the tip of the dart above the skin on his neck of his exposed neck as he replied.

"I love you t-"he was cut off as he suddenly jerked in her arms. Slowly stepping out of the embrace he looked at her in confusion as his vision doubled as the redhead waited for the sleeping serum to do it's work in his system. Reaching up to the back of his neck he stumbled on his feet as he pulled the dart out of his neck before his knee's gave way underneath him.

Catching her teenage son in her waiting arms the dart fell onto the floor as she gently placed him onto the floor of the town hall as his eye's sought out her's. His mouth moved as is he was trying to speak, but no words took form as he tried to call out for his mother.

"I'm sorry" she wept to her son in heartbreak "But if you get out you could kill someone. I won't let you be like me" she cooed at him as he tried to fight the drowsiness of the serum. She moved his arm under his head to keep him comfortable as he finally let the darkness at the edge of his sight finally take over as his eye's fluttered shut into to dreamless sleep.

"Sleep tight my love" she whispered down at the snoozing teen as the curse once again thundered above them. Placing a kiss on the side of his face where the scar still remained from the night he was taken away from her.

Forcing herself back off the floor, she headed straight out of the hall to lock the doors in place, sealing her sleeping son inside before using all the strength she had to bend the only key until it snapped in half. She needed to get the vault knowing Regina would be heading straight there once she was done sealing Henry in her she didn't even make it out of the building before she was stopped by someone suddenly appearing in front of her.

"I thought I told you to home" she curtly remind her husband before brushing past him to continue her journey to where she needed to be.

"I couldn't without knowing you and Tom are okay" he replies as he follows her out of the building.

"You need to go!" she suddenly yells at his whirling around to face him "I won't have your blood on my hands anymore" she told him as a thunderclap rounded around them making them jump as the moment to sundown came ever so close "We don't have time for this John".

"I'm not letting you go alone".

"I won't be. Regina is sealing me in one part of the vault and her in another, if the worst comes, we'll kill each other first. You need to get as far away from it as possible".

"Amy I'm not afraid of you" he stood his ground to his wife.

"You really should be" she gravely tells him before turning her back on him once again. She seemed to be good at that lately as she made her legs sprint towards the graveyard as the curse loomed over her.

She didn't stop running until she reached the mausoleum, her feet barely touched each step down to the vault as she was met by the former Queen who looked just as scared as she did one she lied eyes of the redhead she would sharing an underground prison with for the foreseeable future.

Neither woman said a thing as they radiated towards the other before the pulled each other into a tight embrace as they held onto the other for dear life. The pair stayed like that as the thunder got became louder above them eking out the precious seconds they had together before they would turn back to their worst selves.

"Henry?" Amelia's muffled voice asked into the former Evil Queen's shoulder breaking the silence between them.

"Safe" she answers her before they pulled away far enough to rest their foreheads together "Tom?".

"Same" she answers the brunette "I always said you'd be the death of me" she tells the Queen.

Her Queen.

A choked laugh left the queen's lips at the attempt of humor at seconds before "This isn't the time for jokes" Regina tells her.

"I wasn't joking" she sniffed as the thunder came closer "I wish I had met you again at that damn tavern then maybe none of this would've happened. we would've been happy".

"But you were happy Melia" she reminded her as she cupped her jaw "We have no idea what would've happened if I had just taken the leap of faith towards you. But we don't have time to talk about what if's now, we need to do this now"with a nod the pair separated as they walked hand in hand towards the assassin's part of the vault.

The assassin's hand slipped out of hers as she let the redhead walk into the room full of trinkets and weapons she had collected over the years. A full arsenal at her hands.

Weapons big and small, hung on each wall as her assassin robes sat on display in tall glass cabinets. One for each phase of her life. The lilac set for her early days. The black and purple set for her life with serving the Evil Queen and a white and red set that the woman had brought out as a statement set that represented her life away from the Black Widow. As Amelia Montague. Untouched and unsoiled from the blood she had split over the years.

She had yet to wear it still. Even joking she wanted to be buried with it if the day ever came. Or at least that's what the former Queen hoped. Her death would be something no one would be looking forward to anytime soon. But the redhead always insisted that it would happen one day. She supposed it was to prepare them for what inevitably happens to an assassin so they would be ready for it.

They were angels of death and one day death itself in the form of a stranger or a loved one would be calling upon them to pay the same price everyone else had to. But that day wouldn't be today if she had any say in it.

The former Queen stood behind the threshold as the redhead stood and watched the woman she loved wave her hands over the archway, creating a magical barrier between the Widow and rest of Storybrooke.

The brunette looked at the redhead for the last time before she would have to hurry to her own room and seal herself in. She had to say something to her before it was too late. Before either the Evil Queen or the Black Widow didn't give their better halves the chance to say it again.

"I love you" the words took the assassin aback the same way they did in the mines with the trigger. Only this time the former Queen didn't give the redhead a chance to reply as she rushed down the hallway to seal herself in her part.

The former assassin stood alone like she had done thousands of time before as the air shifted around her and mirror shards fell through the stone ceiling above her, floating into her emerald eyes.

Once the rainfall of shards cleared away the redhead in the small room stood up a little straighter than she dd before as the corner of her lips quirked up in a sly hallf-smirk.
