The next day it was there first exam as Alisana and Saiako took their seats as Alisana noted both Rae and Claire staring in her direction as she fixed her hair as Saiako moved to cover something for in the process. As the exams got passed out the two girls turned back to focus on their own work they got focused on the little competition the two of them had going on. Alisana got through the written test and etiquette section with ease as she was now waiting a ways away from the main group as everyone had their magic levels measured with Rae and Misha making their way over to where she was standing.
"Is everything alright?" Misha asked softly.
"I just do not do well in groups." Alisana replied as she kept an eye on Saiako through the dense crowd.
Misha and Rae followed her line of sight before Misha looked back at Alisana.
"How is she doing? I am sure yesterday was tough on her."
"Seeing as most people see me as a freak with no emotions other than silently pissed off they tend to go after her as a slight to me." Alisana replied. "She has always been more on the emotional side so its easier to get her to cry if someone wants her to."
Rae stayed by Alisana as Misha went up to test her power and Rae shifted around slightly.
"So… what is your family like?" Rae probed slightly.
"I would rather not talk about that sort of thing."
Rae nodded bothered slightly by the cold front that Alisana had put up though she chalked it mainly up to not really knowing each other very well. Once Misha got back Rae made her way to the magic tester as Alisana followed close behind her. As Rae did what she could to make sure her magic score would as unremarkable as possible she heard confused muttering from next to her. As Rae glanced over she was shocked to see that the magical tool seemed to react very little to Alisana before the other girl walked away not really even bothering with second part as Saiako ran over to her though to Rae's surprise Alisana didn't seem the slightest bit fazed by the result. Rae noticed the group of girl's that had been bothering Saiako seemed to be laughing as they gestured towards Alisana though they were completely ignored. Alisana yawned slightly before she and Saiako walked over to her as the taller girl looked at her.
"I think we should talk." Alisana told her.
"I…uh sure. What are you wanting to talk about?" Rae asked her, confused.
Alisana shook her head slightly before starting to walk off, gesturing for the other girl to follow her as Saiako nodded to Misha that they should let the two of them speak in private. Once they were out of ear shot of everyone else Alisana glanced back at Rae before looking over in Claire's general direction.
"How long are you going to let yourself get hurt while you yourself love Claire?" Alisana asked her; her voice and expression unchanging despite the question.
Rae clenched her fists as she let out her breath slowly before speaking. "It's not just as simple as you are trying to make it sound."
"Do you love her?" Alisana asked the other girl flatly.
"I do, but no one would accept us and Claire deserves better then that." Rae muttered.
"Rae, the way I see it you are afraid of getting hurt by the slightest possibility of rejection." Alisana spoke, her eyes flicking slightly to Saiako before she looked back at Rae.
Rae rose an eyebrow at Alisana glance as she crossed her arms. "Are you really lecturing me when you seem to be in the same boat?"
"Our situations are not all that similar." Alisana replied.
"You say that but would you care to enlighten me on anything?" Rae asked her.
Alisana looked at Rae before shaking her head. "I would rather not speak about it."
"So you won't speak about your family or why our love lives aren't as similar as I may think they are…what will you speak about?"
Alisana remained silent for a moment before looking off past Rae. "No matter our decisions, we can only hope to make the best choices regardless of where we may be from. Just whatever advice you give to Claire, how about you follow it yourself."
Rae sighed as she looked at Alisana before looking at where Misha and Saiako were watching the both of them.
"We should get going so no one gets the wrong idea." Rae told her as Alisana's stomach rumbled slightly. "As well it seems like you might be interested in something else."
"That seems to be the case."
"Well, how about the four of us all eat together?"
Alisana nodded in agreement before they met up with Misha and Saiako before they headed to grab a bite to eat with a few people watching them as they left, Claire being amongst the group of observers. Once they all got something to eat and sat down Rae talked with Misha and Saiako as Alisana's mind drifted off slightly as she ate her food slowly until someone bumped her shoulder gently. Alisana looked to her right to see Saiako smile at her softly as she gently placed a hand over Alisana's.
"We have been trying to get your attention but you have been spaced out for the past couple of minutes Alli." Saiako giggled softly.
"Oh uh apologies about that…just got a bit on my mind." Alisana responded as she glanced down at Saiako's hand.
Rae couldn't help but feel a twinge of what she could only guess was jealousy as she looked at the two girl's hands over each other as such before they all heard someone clearing their throats to their side. It turned out to be Claire who might've been coming over to say something though she was currently blushing hard as Loretta and Pipi looked at Alisana's and Saiako's hands before Saiako pulled her hand away.
"May we help you?" Alisana asked Claire as she stood up to face the group.
"I-I was going to ask if that commoner was bothering you." Claire stammered.
She couldn't even look Alisana in the eyes as a slight blush spread across her cheeks. All the professing that Rae did towards her was one thing for Claire but seeing any level of actual affection was stuck in her head at the moment.
"Is that all you had come over here to speak about?" Alisana asked her.
"I-I have to go study." Claire stammered quickly before she turned to leave.
Before she could really leave Alisana grabbed she wrist gently as she did her best smile though there wasn't much behind it as she never really understood how to show emotions all that well though Saiaka was smiling brightly.
"Why don't you all join us if you haven't eaten yet?" Alisana asked them calmly. "It would be counterintuitive to study or practice on an empty stomach."
Claire closed her eyes slightly and let out an exasperated sigh before she pulled her hand away and turned to face Alisana with a glare despite her face still carrying a slight blush.
"F-fine, but its only because it's a decent idea and not because you asked." Claire hissed slightly.
Alisana shrugged slightly before their group moved to a slightly larger table to accommodate the three other girls. Claire situated herself between her friends as she glared over at Rae though the other girl could only smile as she tried to talk to her crush excitedly. As Alisana sat down Saiako smiled again as she gently squeezed her friend's hand.
"You always seem too stubborn but you do care about people." Saiako whispered softly as they both watched the exchange between Claire and Rae.
After some more time the same three girl's from yesterday were standing behind Saiako with a tray of food but before they could do anything Alisana was up already and had tipped the food back into the one holding the tray.
"You know I am getting real tired of this act you three." Alisana muttered as she stood between them and Saiako. "If you all have an issue with me then I will settle it whenever and wherever you three so desire."
By now everyone's eyes were in there direction as Rae could see the three princes stand up at their table, prepared to help if it was necessary.
"Why would we even need to be afraid of magicless freak like you?" The main girl, a brunette with blue eye, said with a smirk.
As the other two girl's nodded in agreement Alisana tilted her head slightly. "If you aren't so afraid of me then how about we all settle our issues right now. The three of you against me."
The silence in the dining hall was nearly thick enough to cut with a knife as the three girls glared at Alisana as she returned her usually unfazed stare.
"I mean unless the three of you together don't even think you have a chance against me, the last daughter of a disgraced line of nobility." Alisana remarked.
Rae could swear that that was the closest she had heard Alisana's voice come to anything resembling a mocking tone.
"Shut up!" The main girl snapped. "We can beat you easily!"
"Alright, how about we test that then?" Alisana responded before she started to make her way towards the training field.
Claire sighed before they all got up to follow Alisana. While she usually wouldn't have followed along; especially since it meant dealing with Rae more, she was admittedly curious about Alisana herself and wanted to see how this turned out. Though Claire swore that she saw Alisana look in Rae's direction before the other girl quickly looked away.
Once they got to the practice fields the three princes stood to the side to watch over the fight as the barrier was put up for everyone's safety. Saiako stood between Claire and Rae though she kept her eyes on the ground as she held her hands together tightly. Rae smiled at her softly before placing a hand on her shoulder to try to reassure her before the match started. Each of the three girls seemed to possess different affinity with earth, fire, and wind magic as they launched attacks in unison clearly aiming to overwhelm Alisana with pure force and end the fight as quick as possible. As all of their attacks landed at Alisana's position Saiako shut her eyes tightly but as the dust settled everyone was shocked to see Alisana untouched with a wooden sword in one hand and her empty one behind her back.
"Please do tell me that that wasn't nearly the best that the three of you could do together." Alisana told them softly. "Because if that is to be the case then this would be a regrettable show for all of those in attendance."
As the three girl's launched spell after spell everyone outside of the barrier watched in shock as it looked as if Alisana was physically cutting through the spells. Rae had never heard of this sort of thing being possible as she only knew of Spell Breaker being the only way to disable spells and even that took time to perform. Before anyone could react Alisana launched past her three opponent before they each dropped to the ground unable to move.
"What did you do you bitch?!" The brunette screamed out as the barrier disappeared.
"You don't always have to rely on magic to beat someone." Alisana replied. "Besides, this world didn't always have magic to fall back on so knowing exactly how the human body works and how to attack vital points…you can handle many opponents without a single spell."
The three girl glared at Alisana as she dropped her sword before she started to fall forward with Thane and Misha being the first two to catch her thanks to their wind magic. As Rae got over to her she was shocked to see that Alisana looked quite feverish as Saiako let out her breath slowly.
"She will be fine…Alisana has never been good at expressing herself but she has always pushed herself far beyond her limits for my sake." Saiako spoke softly as she took one of Alisana's hands in her own. "She has always bounced back. She just needs some rest."
