Chapter 15: Ultra Sonic:
Sonic's POV:
Sally and I are in a Robotropolis building. "That's it," says Sally, "section 2, module 4."
"Let's do it to it," we said as we were doing our secret handshake.
"Hold it, Sal," I said.
We saw Snively. "Maximum ferrite field, 95.7 percent roboticization factor."
"Which one controls the old Roboticizer," I asked.
"First, we shut down the alarm. That should do it," says Sally.
"Should," I asked.
"Well, he could have a back-up," says Sally.
"No prob, we can handle it," I said.
"The difficult part will be getting into that Robotocizer's software, so that we can deactivate it," says Sally.
"Come on, Sal. With my looks and your brains, we're unstoppable," I said.
"You're…partly right," says Sally.
"Which part," I asked.
"Guess," says Sally.
"Huh, the incredibly good look's part, right," I asked.
"You're dreaming again," says Sally.
I then looked in a mirror. "That is not a dream, that is one hedgehog hunk."
"Sonic, will you get serious?!"
"Yo, I am serious."
"Snively," says Robotnik, "the robotocizer is in sabotage mode!"
"I'll check it Sir," says Snively. He then sees us. "The hedgehog! SWATbots, sector six red corridor!"
"Excuse me, is this where we catch the monorail for Knothole," I asked.
"Go ahead and joke hedgehog, but this time we've got you," says Snively.
"What you've got Snively is a big, fat, zip-o," I said.
"Guess again, rodent. What I have is your worthless hide," says Snively.
The swatbots came at us. I then grabbed Sally and we juiced out of there while the swatbots chased after us.
. . .
Now we're in the subway station. "Workerbots," says Sally.
"Sal…there! That bot is…my Uncle Chuck," I said.
"You're right," says Sally.
"I've gotta get him out of here," I said.
"Sonic, wait," says Sally, "there are way too many swatbots!"
"I can handle the swatbots," I said.
"Sonic use your head, it's too risky! We need a plan," says Sally.
I then sighed. "You're right," I said.
"Where's the Crystal Mine," asks Sally.
"I don't have a clue, but we're gonna find out. Let's juice," I said.
. . .
We met up with Antoine, Bunnie, and Rotor.
"Sonic! We scoped out Robotnik's junkyard, but we couldn't find any old Robotocizer parts. How'd you guys do," asks Rotor.
"Not much better I'm afraid, except that-" Sally began.
"We found my Uncle Chuck," I said.
"Oh, Sonic that is so excitin'," says Bunnie.
"Yeah, where is he," asks Rotor.
"On a train, headin' for the Crystal Mine," I said.
"Where ees ziss crystahl mine," asks Antoine.
"That way," I pointed.
"Then we better start walking," says Sally.
. . .
We were at the Crystal Mine. "Ugh, I can't believe this. Robotnik's pollution is everywhere," says Sally.
"Man, would I love to turn Robotnik into a can-opener," says Rotor.
"Cool it, Rote! Keep your eyeballs peeled for Uncle Chuck. There he is! I'll get him," I said.
"Sonic! Be careful," says Sally.
I then started following Uncle Chuck. "Yo, Uncle Chuck! Wait up! Uncle Chuck, chill, will ya? It's me," I said. Uncle Chuck then attacked me. "Uncle Chuck! What are you doin'?! Yo! It's me, Sonic! Uncle Chuck, it's me, Sonic! You're one and only too cool nephew! Don't you remember?"
Bunnie then grabs him. "Guh! Easy does it sugar, Aah won't hurt ya," says Bunnie.
"Get him out of here, Bunnie," I said.
"Sahcrebleu! Ziss ees terreeble whaht Rahbotneek hahs dahne to heem."
"Don't worry, Uncle Chuck, we'll get you back to normal. Got any ideas, Sal," I asked.
"Well, I can think of one way," says Sally, "but it would have to do with the new rock Espio brought over."
. . .
In case you're wondering, Espio had some quality time with Knuckles and somehow, Espio and the Master Emerald teleported here. Now, we're stuck keeping it.
"What are you doing with that robot," asks Stix.
"Cool it," I said, "it's my uncle!"
"Oh... sorry," says Stix, "but what are you doing with that rock?"
"We're going to use the Master Emerald to save Sonic's uncle," says Sally.
"That rock can't be trusted," says Stix, "I still say we should destroy it!"
"And I still say that's too risky," says Espio, "the Master Emerald is the most powerful thing on the planet and destroying it could destroy all of Mobius!"
"There's still my idea," says Amy, "we give it back to Knuckles!"
"The same Knuckles who's probably official BFF's with Robotnik by now," asks Vector, "that's also too risky!"
"Right now, we need to use it to save Sir Charles," says Sally.
"Tails, you made sure-" I began.
"Don't worry," says Tails, "Longclaw has no idea we have the Master Emerald."
"Good, she could go all owl on us," I said.
"Well, those of us that aren't rodents would be fine," says Vector.
"You don't know Longclaw," I said.
We then touched Uncle Chuck to the Master Emerald. "…Sonic, is that you, sonny?"
"Uncle Chuck! Yes! Man, I sure missed you," I said.
"I missed you, too. Still good-lookin' and always cookin', eh Sonny boy," asks Uncle Chuck.
"You got it, Unc. Shakin' and bakin'," I said.
"So, he's to blame," says Espio.
"Princess Sal! Rotor! Bunnie! Oh, it's a real treat to see you again," says Uncle Chuck.
"Welcome back, Charles," says Sally.
"How you doin', Chuck," asks Rotor.
"Dr. Hedgehahg, bonjour."
"Bonjour, Antoine," says Uncle Chuck, "and Amy, I remember when you had a thing for Sonic."
"That was years ago," says Amy, "trust me, I'm over it."
"I'm right here," I said.
"And Stix, did you ever catch the league of ventriloquists," asks Uncle Chuck.
"Not yet," says Stix, "but I know they're out there!"
"And Vector, how are you," asks Uncle Chuck.
"I'm starting a detective business," says Vector, "this is Espio, one of my partners."
"Say, you look like... oh... I'm sorry that my invention was involved with the death of your clan," says Uncle Chuck.
"I do not blame you," says Espio, "Robotnik is the one to blame!"
"I'm so happy to have you back, Uncle Chuck," I said.
"I'm glad to be back," says Uncle Chuck, "but now we have to get back to the mine!"
"Wait, what," I asked.
"You'll see once we get there," says Uncle Chuck.
. . .
Me, Sally, Rotor, Antoine, and Bunnie accompanied Uncle Chuck back to the mine.
"The elevators gone until the next shift," says Uncle Chuck.
"Forget the shift, there's always the shaft. Bunnie, waste these doors," I said.
"My pleasure. Ugh," says Bunnie as she does so.
"Sweet thinkin', Sonny! Let's get slidin'," says Uncle Chuck.
"Is he my uncle or what," I asked.
. . .
"So, what are we looking for, Uncle Chuck," I asked.
"You know how you have the Master Emerald," asks Uncle Chuck.
"Espio stole it," I said.
"Well, Robotnik is mining this Energy Crystal as a way to counter the power of the Master Emerald should you all use it against him!"
"But we can't even control it," says Sally, "it was lucky we used it to restore your mind!"
"Robotnik doesn't want to take that risk," says Uncle Chuck.
"What'll happen if they do git it out," asks Bunnie.
"Removing that active crystal will destroy the whole eco-system," says Uncle Chuck.
"You're right, we do have to stop Robotnik…but how," asks Sally.
"Only one way: We shut him down here, and at the control center. Sal, that's where you come in," says Uncle Chuck.
"Okay, let's do it," says Sally.
. . .
We then arrived at the control center. "That's where you gotta cut the main power circuits. Sonny, after you get them, come on back here," says Uncle Chuck.
"You got it," I said, but then I noticed something. "Uncle Chuck, you feelin' okay?"
"Fine. Don't worry about me, we don't have much time," says Uncle Chuck.
I then ran.
. . .
After doing the first part of my job, Uncle Chuck, Bunnie, and I were seeing this robot.
"Man, that is one serious bot," I said.
"It's a dino-bot, a deadly planet-devouring machine," says Uncle Chuck.
"I wish the dude was on our side," I said.
"That's my plan, Sonic! But first we gotta get to its controls inside. Just follow me. See you inside!" Uncle Chuck then swings into the dino-bot's mouth.
"Uncle Chuck," I said.
"Oh, mah stars, do we have to do that," asks Bunnie.
"No problem," I said, "see if you can jam its jaws open!"
"I'll sure give it a try Sugarhog," says Bunnie. She does so and then we manage to get inside.
Sally's POV:
"The main control panel is just beyond that bot. Rotor, there's a toggle switch on his foot," I said.
"I'll get him to turn, you flip the switch. Hey! Woah! Sally, hit the switch," says Rotor.
"Got it," I said.
"Gringo," says Antoine.
"Antoine, it's 'Bingo,' not 'Gringo!' Let go," says Rotor.
We then got to work.
Sonic's POV:
"This bot's flipped out Uncle Chuck," I said.
"Let's hope he doesn't clear his throat," says Uncle Chuck.
"Amen to that. Lem-me give ya a hand they-yur, Charlie. They-yur ya go," says Bunnie.
"Thanks, Bunnie. Now let's figure out how to control this baby," says Uncle Chuck.
"Control it to do what," I asked.
"To chop suey those cables! Yes, the control board! Now let's see if dino-bot will work for us," says Uncle Chuck.
"What's that," asks Bunnie.
"The cranes! We gotta work fast. Come on Sally, pick up! Good job, Sal. Now shut down the mine's main circuits," says Uncle Chuck.
"Okay, but…I don't see a control panel for the cranes," says Sally.
"Must be separate, keep lookin'," says Uncle Chuck.
"Will do…maybe one of these…" Sally does it.
"Now, let's get this T-bot crankin'. Hit it, Bunnie! This T-bot's workin' for us now," says Uncle Chuck.
"All right," says Bunnie.
"Better juice, Uncle Chuck! Those cranes are startin' to life the ol' crystal! Large move, shred that sucker!... The claw is down," I said.
"We'll have to use the laser drill to destroy the crystal!... The crystal absorbed the laser energy! We've got to take out those cables! This is it, we cut it loose now, or Mobius is finished!... We did it, Sonny-boy," says Uncle Chuck.
"Yes! All right," Bunnie and me both said.
"Now we gotta hook up with the others and get outta here," says Uncle Chuck.
. . .
We regrouped. "That's it, everything is shut down except for emergency power, let's get back to the elevator," says Sally.
"By the way, if I were to ever lose myself again, I would lose any memory of where Knothole is hidden," says Uncle Chuck.
"And why would you want to tell us," I said, worriedly.
"Because... I'm about to lose myself!" He was a robot again and the others had to drag me out.
. . .
"I shoulda saved him…" I began.
"Y'all did what ya could honey, we couldn't brin' him back, he's loyal to Robotnik," says Bunnie.
"We'll get him back another day Sonic, promise," says Sally.
"Yeah and look what we did with Uncle Chuck; we totaled that crystal," says Rotor.
"Se magnifique," says Antoine.
"You know I was able to copy some of the Robotocizer software. One day we'll be able to change Uncle Chuck back…permanently," says Sally.
"Along with all our families," says Rotor.
"Hang in Uncle Chuck, we'll be back…"
In the next chapter, Sonic is paralyzed by a recurring nightmare personifying his own personal fears.
