It had been a few days since the fight with her mother and Katherina was still struggling to clean up around the areas where her mother was throwing things and understand how had things gone the way they did. It was Saturday. and instead of going to the pool, playing birds with the kids that lived next door, or getting her hair done, Kat was sitting at the edge of her pool, finishing up a 30-minute lap, trying to forget about that fight she had with her mother. She was so so fucking lost about that fight, sure they never got along, sure she felt left out at times, but never once, never once had her mother outright assaulted her like a...criminal! Ok, that word, is too loose to use.
Katherina was sitting inside her indoor pool at 11:30 am in Birmingham, UK in a large, white mansion, her hair tied up in a high braid, her face bare and clean, blue swimsuit, kicking her feet in the water she watched as the police inundating the giant house still taking statements, people were crying, and that was where a small pink/blonde haired science-loving girl was crying just a few days ago as her mother was escorted out of the house, kicking and yelling at Kat, for some reason. Katherina was so...demented, her head heavy, her room dark in a sad, broken way, and Katherina had just finished taking care of her bruises, they stung every time she even looked at them, and her tears were salty like the dark ocean, and what was worse? What was worse was that the tears were still coming in. It was too late to undo what just happened, and by the time Kat was done with her bruises and with her family, her mother being dragged out of the house, the bruises on her body felt like bullets wounded in her skin like a solider, it was too painful to text Lee to explain everything.
Kat was feeling upset after her fight with her mom. She had never been super close with her mom, but lately, they had been disagreeing more and more and things were physical. She cleaned herself up. and started walking up to her room, her legs long and bold, making a statement as she went to her room.
Kat felt like her mom just wasn't getting her and was trying to control her decisions. From ballet, what she could eat, who she could talk to, to her friends to now Lee. which hurt her. The fight was particularly bad, and Kat couldn't stop thinking about it, as she walked up to her now decently cleaned room, with her phone, now fixed sitting on her bed, with a handwritten note from her dad that read," Sorry about that night. Will talk about it when I head home. Spend some time with your brother". She sighed, and spent the next few minutes backing up the cell phone and charging the cell phone with a new phone case. She took a quick shower. thinking on how bad she felt that night; all Lee wanted to do was to update her on his mission and talk shit about Jerry, and here comes her mother, drunk and angry waiting for a fight.
She was still cleaning up her room, sighing as she was still getting flashbacks from the fight earlier, she could even look at the giant photo, there was her brother, a young sweet boy who she knew in her heart was going to do better in life than she will ever be, her dear father born from an abusive family just to be thrown into another one, the only two that was once hanging in her room, now smashed in pieces, thinking of her family, as she was putting all the broken things in one pile to fix in the morning with glue, as she climbed into bed, silently crying, as her maids had helped her clean, gave her water, and comforted her.
Her heart ached, it stung like aging bullets that agonized in her skin, she couldn't believe it, out of all the people, it was Lee who saw all of this, for goodness' sake, Lee saw her attack her mother like a fucking werewolf. Like a monster, even! Kat was so upset about all of this, the light that shined on her cold winter night saw her as a monster! Kat cried even harder at that thought. She figured Lee was going to dump her not only for lying about her home life but for being a psycho and attacking the woman who brought you into this world! Who does that? She was sick to the bone, thinking that Lee was so upset with Kat, the now lying, mom-hating ex-villain girlfriend who mostly hates Megan. Her body grew even colder, her eyes swollen from crying, her hair ruffled and most of her ripped from her scalp, sensing a bald spot, her body felt like death, her sheets ruffled from tossing and turning all night. Kat was so...miserable. How could this monster of a mom, hurt her?
Overwhelmed with emotions, Kat whispered to herself, her voice filled with regret, "I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart, Lee. I've been an awful girlfriend to you and I'm so sorry."
Kat was so confused as to what happened that night. One minute she and Lee were talking and the next, her mom just throws her out of her chair and starts beating her like a fucking orangutan! She was lost, she was angry, she was stressed she was tired, and she was so upset, but the worst feeling of all was knowing that Lee saw everything. he heard everything and the worst part was, the worst part being that she tried to warn Lee, she tried to warn him about her mother coming in, but he was too in his story to notice her fear, he didn't notice her cry for help!
*ping*
Kat's big blue eyes widen, her head still spinning prior to the fight, in confusion. Who could be texting her...which 'didn't make any sense since she rarely gave her number out and also , out of anyone at this hour?
*ping, ping ping*
Kat, confused asked herself "What the fuck? I don't have many friends, also Lee and Megan should be sleeping or waking up. This doesn't feel right." She walked over to the broken dresser, her face filled with sadness as she looked at its damaged state. Her furniture collection was cherished, but the dresser stood out with its cherry-colored daintiness. The flowers delicately drawn onto it evoked a sense of nostalgia and made her feel connected to her girlhood, which she loved the most about herself.
When she answered the phone, opening up the first thing was a few concerned text messages from the one person she loved. His text messages were so concerning and she was so busy with the cleaning just the sight of Lee's blushing face greeted her on her lock screen, his radiant smile instantly relieving her.
Kat was over the moon when she saw that her boyfriend, Lee, wasn't even mad at her. She had been so worried about how he would react after their fight. But it turned out that Lee wasn't mad at all. He seemed even more loving and understanding than usual. Kat was so relieved, her eyes adjusting to the text message that she had sadly missed from her boyfriend. She walked back to the bed, pushed her hair back, and tears of happiness started flowing. She couldn't help but feel a little guilty for having doubted him, but mostly, she was just happy to have him in her life.
Kat immediately got up, realizing that she had to call Lee back, not updating him on her situation must've been hard for him, the worst thing was Kat being alive and safe and him not knowing a single thing about it, she had to call, and not in the current condition she was in, as she jumped out of her bed, speed walked to her bathroom, went to take a shower, she grabbed her favorite towel, a light pink towel with cherry's on it, the fresh clothes she grabbed were handpicked: an old Science fair contest shirt, and some black shorts, she put on her favorite Jhene Aiko playlist. Kat stepped into that shower and washed herself, thinking about what should the first thing she should say to Lee.
"What the fuck, I haven't spoken to Kat since Thursday, what takes a person to call back?" It was Saturday in Miami, the sky shined over in the Indigo Hotel, the air was timid, the ac was blasting like a boombox, the time was 1:30 pm, the clouds were creeping in, Marc and Tony were asking Jerry about certain resources to help out on their mission, Tony was enjoying the outdoors, Marc had some eyebags due to the snoring of Tony, so Lee and Megan offered to stay behind due to what happened to Kat. Kat was on everyone's mind, Marc was so upset for lying, but she must've had good intentions, but for different reasons, Lee and Megan were inside their hotel room, eating lunch, and watching TV, Lee was miserable, his eyes once full of life, full of adventure, were now gone, now knowing that Kat wasn't safe, in her own home broke him, she must be injured, crying herself to sleep or even worse made Lee shed a few more tears.
Megan was livid at the fact that Katherina lied. But she didn't just lie to Megan, she mostly lied to Jerry as well, she lied to Marc and Tony and she lied to her brother, Lee, Kat's fucking boyfriend! Megan was pacing around, her t-shirt(Lee's shirt) and tights were the only thing she had on, her long black hair tied into two braids, Lee lying in nothing but his boxers his eyes were sore, eyes heavy and sad.
"How do you do something like that, as a person, no, as a woman, lie about your fucking home life like that to your boyfriend and not text back! I can't believe her, Lee! How could you do something so deceitful?"
Megan whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of horror and disbelief, along with pure rage. That was her best friend, how could Kat lie to her about what her family was doing to her, How could she do this? Her hands shook as she clutched onto her phone, fearful of the response she might receive. "Lee, the moment you get out of that bed and get in touch with that pink-haired hoebag, cuss her out, and break up with her, do you hear me? Leander Darias Chapman, this thin-lip freak bitch is done! This hoe must've lied about herself to you as well, Lee! This pink-haired bitch better watch herself-"
"Megan, I get that you're angry right now, and I sense that you're yelling is going to get us kicked out of this nice hotel for our mission that was just ruined by something and we still need to figure it out. Kat is in a dangerous situation you need to calm down,as for me, I'm trying to comprehend all of this with my girlfriend, who by the way, I'm NOT breaking up with for your entitled sake, so can you give me a FUCKING MINUTE?" Lee yelled as he plugged his phone in, he sat up, his eyes beaming at his little sister in anger, his hair everywhere, Megan was stunned, and a little angry at her brother, who should be just as angry as her, was sitting there defending Katherina. Megan, consumed by a mix of rage and hurt, unleashes her pent-up emotions not only on Lee but also directs her fury toward Kat's appalling situation...why was he so willing to defend that girl?! Megan's emotional turmoil arises from her difficulty in understanding Lee's loyalty to Kat, she's a bitch, she has the academic stability of a frat boy, and she's not pretty she's just white and lives in the UK, why was Lee dickriding this girl? since when did he go hard for any of his girlfriends like this?
NEVER!
Megan, oh Megan, she just heard that she got her ass beat by her fatass mother, especially given the egregious nature of Kat's actions. This wasn't the first time Kat had done something like this, lying to protect herself, but everyone forgave her for the sake of it. At least that time.
Kat's conduct, which Megan views as devoid of any sign of remorse, deeply troubles her...how could Lee be blinded by love? This lack of remorse contributes to Kat's conviction (manipulation) about Megan's delusionality, and how it badly affects the people around her. Megan didn't like this, so she took that anger out on not only Lee but Kat's situation as well as the fact that Kat's actions are monstrous and unforgivable.
Megan looked like she was about to explode. "You better break up with her! She just lied to us, she lied to ME! Why would she do this to me, was I not special enough to help her? I swear to-"
"Can you just shut up and let me speak Megan?" Lee retorted, walking up to Megan, his hair crunchy and he smelled like whale pussy. he put his hand on Megan's shoulders, looked her directly in the eyes."Kat just went through a really traumatic experience, alright? Can I just get a second to talk to her before you start screa-"
*POW, POW, POW*
*POW, POW, POW*
*POW, POW, POW*
*POW, POW, POW*
As the warm water cascaded down her body, Kat could feel the tension melting away from her muscles. She closed her eyes and let out a contented sigh, feeling the weight of the anxiety being washed away. The tears of relief mingled with the water on her cheeks, creating a soothing sensation that calmed her racing heart.
With each breath, Kat could feel her body relaxing, the knots of worry slowly unraveling. Her shoulders, once tense and hunched, now dropped down, allowing her to stand tall and confident. The smile on her face widened, radiating pure joy and gratitude.
As she lathered her hair with shampoo, her fingers massaged her scalp, sending waves of pleasure through her body. The scent of the shower gel filled the air, mingling with the steam, creating a serene atmosphere that matched her newfound peace of mind.
Kat hummed a happy tune, her voice echoing in the small bathroom. The sound reverberated against the tiled walls, filling the space with a sense of lightness and positivity. Her long legs moved gracefully, stepping in time with the rhythm of the music playing from her speaker.
Her hair, once disheveled and wild, now fell in soft waves around her shoulders, its strands shiny and vibrant. The water droplets glistened on her skin, accentuating the natural glow that had returned to her face. Her eyes, once clouded with worry, now sparkled with hope and love.
With each movement, Kat felt a surge of energy coursing through her body. Her towel, wrapped snugly around her, embraced her like a warm hug, reinforcing the feeling of security and happiness. She stretched her body, reveling in the sensation of her muscles awakening and coming alive.
As she stepped out of the shower, Kat couldn't help but marvel at the transformation that had taken place within her. The doubt and guilt that had once weighed heavily on her heart had been replaced with a deep sense of appreciation and love for Lee.
She reached for her phone, a renewed excitement bubbling within her. With a towel draped over her shoulders, Kat dialed Lee's number, eager to share her newfound happiness and to express her gratitude for his understanding and love.
