The dogs before her snarled menacingly.
Her ear stung, but she held her ground in front of Tracker.
If these dogs want to hurt Tracker any further they have to get past me! She thought as she bared her fangs.
Tracker quivered behind her.
"Don't worry, Tracker! We will get out of this!" She yipped, turning her head back to nod at him.
Tracker gulped.
"How can you be so sure?"
"I'm not. But panicking won't help us now. We must be brave. We've dealt with bad dogs before. Maybe not like this, but...we still got to stand our ground."
Skye's eyes held determination.
Her ear bleed, but she wouldn't let one injury get to her.
They had to press on.
Maniacal laughter rang through the forest. It's owner was the small griffon.
"You should be scared, little doggie." He taunted, taking a step towards her.
Skye made an attempt to back up, but the trees around her blocked the way.
Skye grit her teeth. It wasn't like he was all that tall either. Skye kept this fact to herself.
The griffon burst out laughing.
Upon hearing their leader's gut bust, the other seven laughed along.
"What are we laughing at, boss?" The Burmese wondered, tilting her head.
The griffon rolled his eyes.
"Stupid dog." He snorted.
The Burmese only titled her head, not understanding that either.
A huff of exasperation could be heard, and the Griffon just pointed at Skye and Tracker.
The Burmese seemed to understand and just burst out into insane and loud laughter, her dark brown eyes shadowed by utter confusion for why the others stopped their laughter.
"Why should I be scared of a bully like you?" Skye yipped fiercely, taking one step towards the Griffon.
For a moment it was as if personal space didn't exist. The Griffon growled at her before shoving her out of his way without a care as a pup tag in a bush started to ring.
"Not now, boss." He growled lowly, but Skye could still hear it.
Boss? What? She wondered.
The male turned around before looking at his pack.
To them he snapped, "Watch over these two dumb dogs. I've got someone calling."
The Griffon ran off into the thick forest beyond with the pup tag in his mouth, and it turned quiet.
"What should we do with them?" The Australian Shepard wondered loudly, breaking the silence.
All seven dogs watched Skye and Tracker with intense focused eyes. Even the Burmese was watching with such a focus.
Skye figured it was hard for her to focus because her eyes were wandering even in her focused state.
Skye turned towards Tracker. What was that about? They have a boss? That's concerning. We should tell Ryder. If we make it...
Skye gulped before shaking her head.
No! We will make it! She convinced herself.
Skye didn't know where this dog was going all of a sudden, but it unsettled her greatly that there might be something bigger than what was going on.
The pack of dogs prowled around the two pups, and closed them in; they were growling viciously.
Though, none of the dogs seemed to know what exactly they could do to the flyer and the tracking pup. They just bared their fangs at her and her friend like they didn't know what else to do now that their leader was gone.
Or perhaps their leader was the one with most of the ideas.
"Where exactly did your leader go?" Tracker wondered with a curious expression on his face.
The Great Dane boldly shook his head with an unconfident expression on his face.
He gulped right before speaking.
"Where our leader goes is none of your concern." He informs, turning his head away from the eyes of Skye and Tracker. In fact, away from every dogs eyes and that was practically impossible.
His light brown eyes showed how truly unprepared he was for being their replacement leader.
His teeth were firmly placed together to make sounds a piece of chalk would make on it's chalkboard.
"But, our leader isn't exactly our only leader if you can believe it. We have a bigger leader who's planned this whole thing just for you, cockapoo." The spotted Great Dane remarked, voice getting dark and sinister.
Skye tipped her head, confused.
This was all planned?! So Tracker's entercounter with this dogs wasn't just an accident? And they wanted me out of all dogs? What did I do to ensue such rage from anyone?
Skye couldn't help, but show her confusion. It was only natural. Who would ever have a grudge against her? She has done everything she could to make others happy with her. She just wasn't sure who out there would be this cruel to hire dogs to come and attack one of her friends just to reel her in.
"Bigger? I just thought you were causing trouble because you never experienced the love of an owner." Skye mumbles.
The Great Dane laughs sinisterly, his nervousness fading away slightly.
There was still a twinge of his body jerking every now and then.
"Love? Who do you think we are some sappy stupid group of dogs? Sure, Paige here might not be the smartest dog of the group, but we're not stupid enough to let some idiotic humans feed us and take care of us when we're better off in our pack. This is what living with such evil creatures gets you. Nowhere but needy for them." The Great Dane growled, pointing with his nose towards the Burmese mountain dog.
That was his indication Paige was her name.
"What do you mean? Humans are great!" Tracker yipped.
The Great Dane rolled his eyes.
"I wouldn't understand the humans pets to understand our ways. Anyways, if you know what's good for you, you'll shut up now. I'd rather not talk with such low beings. Or anyone at all for that matter. You're making me anxious."
The Great Dane shivered violently as he stepped away from Skye and Tracker while also keeping his distance from his pack.
It was quiet for the rest of the time while Skye prayed Ryder and the Paw Patrol would get to them and be able to rid them of these stinky pups.
They smelled like dirt, poop, and Skye swore she smelled blood on the Hovawart.
The only sound came from the Besenji, who was bouncing around trying to purposefully go through the jaws of Paige who looked annoyed.
This only sent the Besenji into a fit of insane laughter.
A loud shout quieted her quickly, and she stood at attention as did all the other dogs besides Skye and Tracker who got tense with slight fear.
The Griffon came back into view, shoving some twigs angrily as they fell on his face.
His jaw was in a permanent snarl.
"Boss told me what we should do with you. Now that we have you, Skye of the Paw Patrol," the Griffon began, chuckling. "We will be having some fun."
"Boss told me we can do whatever we want to your friend, but leave you to her." The Griffon informed as he circles around Tracker.
"Leave him alone!" Skye exclaimed desperately.
The Griffon snorted.
"Your brashness will be the death of him." The Griffon slyly informs her, grabbing Tracker's face with an unsheathed paw.
His claws begun to dig into Tracker's fuzzy skin. This invokes a cry of shock from Tracker.
The Griffon then pulls Tracker down on the ground, placing his front paws on the potcake's throat.
He pressed down harshly, making the potcake chock as he begs for other pup to stop.
Most of the dogs surrounding them cheer on their leader, calling him by his name.
"Diablo! Diablo! Diablo!" Six of the seven dogs chanted.
The Border Collie lifted a paw, tail between his legs as they watched Tracker struggle to get air into his lungs.
"Skye! He..." Tracker couldn't even call for help. His air ducts were being blocked.
The Griffon took it a step forward and dug his claws into his neck. It was like he was preparing to end his life.
Rustling in the trees could be heard, but Skye thought nothing of it as her attention was on Tracker who's neck began to turn red.
Diablo smirked as he raked his paws down the potcake's neck.
Tracker screamed in loud pain.
Skye was determined to help him, and sprung at the Griffon with all her might, but was kicked back by the Hoverwart.
"Just watch, you pathetic excuse for a rescuer!" The Hoverwart snapped as the Great Dane helped keep her away from trying to help her friend.
No! He's going to kill him! Skye thought in agony.
Before Diablo could inflict much more pain, a loud yowling sound was created from within the trees.
A couple of white, gray, and orange cats landed on Diablo screeching in fury of what they were witnessing.
Claws raked over the griffon's eyes and he immediately whined with pain.
"Intruders! Get them!" He roared as Skye noticed the paw patrol was here.
Her eyes shone with relief.
They didn't seem to notice the paw patrol, and were focusing on the cats instead.
Not much longer, a loud roaring sound could be heard and that was when Diablo glanced up with great amounts of fear in his eyes.
"T-Rex!" Diablo exclaimed with wide eyes as if he couldn't believe he was looking at what he was looking at. "Run!!!"
Though, the only ones who looked scared were Paige and Diablo.
The others gave each other questioning looks, but didn't question their leader as they all ran in the same direction.
The cats gazed at Skye and Tracker, nodding. It was as if they understood something that Skye herself didn't.
Did we really get saved by a combination of cats and the paw patrol? She wondered as the cats disappeared into the trees above, some blinking their yellow eyes at her with a nod.
Tracker angled his ears to hear where they went. A happy smile was brought to his face as he cheered, going onto his back paws.
"Hooray! Ellos cayeron en un agujero. They fell in a hole. They're stuck!" Tracker barked in excitement, closing his eyes in happiness.
He then turned to Skye. "Lo siento. Sorry. They were pretty terrifying."
Skye blinked.
"They're still alive, so don't worry. They just fell into a hole and now we no longer have to worry about them."
Sudden, and furious paw steps made them turn around.
"Skye! Skye! I'm so glad you're alright! I was so worried!"
Running towards them was their friends with Rubble and Rocky in the lead. Rubble was the one who spoke.
He then whimpered slightly before giving Skye and Tracker a hug. "I was worried about you too, Tracker. They didn't hurt you did they?" Rubble wondered, putting a paw on Tracker's head.
Skye and Tracker both giggled.
Thankfully this is all over. Skye thought as she hugged Chase.
"Skye, we have to talk," Chase woofed seriously.
