"You did what!?!" Velvette screamed in shock watching as Vox was scrounging around their office room.

"Yeah- hey! Do we have a checkbook laying around?" Vox asked leaning back up from where he was bent over.

"Yeah..." Velvette raised an eyebrow at him holding up the tablet she was holding.

Vox laughed, "no- I meant a non electronic one."

She placed the tablet on the table and rested her hands on her face, "Vox... what are you doing?"

Vox continued to ignore her, "I could have sworn we had one laying around"

"Vox."

"Maybe it was in the drawer in the meeting room." Vox began to walk towards the door to leave, but Velvette got up and blocked him.

"VOX!" Velvette growled, "Last night you up and left and Valentino freaked the fuck out on me cause he couldn't find you! Then you come back and tell me you checked into that hotel like nothing happened?!" She gripped Voxs arms, "I was fucking worried about you! So I'm going to ask again. What are you doing!?!"

Vox sighed, "ok, ok. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to have you guys worrying about me like that. Especially you." He moved to sit on the couch, "that pathetic low level sinner got caught, I was just going to let him get killed, but... I had a realization."

Velvette sat next to him putting a hand on his shoulder, "about what?"

"If we want to get rid of the radio demon we need someone who can actually go up against him if things get out of hand, I can do that." Vox jumped back up to his feet. Adrenaline coursing through his cold viens, "we need someone who knows him, I am that someone! I know the inner workings of his mind on a personal level that others don't! I can create his downfall! The fucker won't even see it comming!"

"Vox. Is that actually a good idea?" Velvette paused, "well I mean in- in hindsight yes and I know I wasn't really there when Alastor was still around, but-" a concerned look washed over her face, "but last I remember you couldn't even take him on."

Vox straightened himself his demeanor changing into something sinniser, "things are different now." He looked to Velvette out of the coner of his eye, his eyes sharp, "I can take anything the fossil throws at me."

Velvette laughed looking vox over, "ok then big scary man."

Vox relaxed his shoulders letting out a small chuckle, "oh shut up." He put his hands on his hips and rolled his eyes, "Oh and by the way, I totally almost had him that time!"

Velvette giggled, "Sure you did."

"I did, he just got lucky that's all." Vox shrugged walking over to pick up a tablet and tapped in an order for a paper checkbook. "Look I may not be able to defeat Alastor in a fight, but if I have enough time to rig the game then I certainly can."

Velvette grinned, "seems like you got a plan this time then," Velvette looked down as relief washed over her. She picked up her phone that was laying on the table and clicked on Voxtagram, "Oh by the way someone needs to feed Vark he's getting restless."

"I'll take care of it, and I'll feed the others while Im at it to." Vox moved as a package delivery bot whizzed into the room and stopped infront of him, a little ding going off to notify it had arrived. Vox leaned down picking up the checkbook and the bot then left to fulfill more orders,"I'm going to go down to the Hotel after I do. Best to get this over with quickly."

"Fair, also I can't believe you're actually paying them," Velvette stated not looking up from her phone.

"Yeah, but success always comes at a price," Vox sighed making his way to the door.

"Alright, just be back before tonight! We have movie night and I'm the one picking this time!" Velvette looked up from her phone leaning her head over the couch to look at Vox.

"Duly noted, bye Vel!" Vox waved to the other demon who went back to scroll through social media.

As Vox made his way to the very top of the tower where his sharks resided, his mind began to race. He felt bad for lying to Velvette. He wasn't confident about going up against Alastor, he again made another on the spot decision he couldn't take back. Hopefully he could avoid any conflict with the radio demon before getting the other Vees involved.

Vox frowned in visual distress thinking back to his small interaction with Alastor. It felt so souless. Why did the bastard stick up for him when they were going to reject him? It didn't make any sense. Maybe this was his way of touring him.

Alastor always knew he wanted his attention...

Vox groaned, "this is getting ridiculous. I can't be letting these things get to me." Vox stepped into the elevator, "I need to focus on getting the update finished, I've been too distracted. I didn't think it would take this long."

Vox stepped out of the elevator and giddily walked over to his shark tank tapping on the glass, "why hello there my babies." He puckered his lips to the glass, "Daddy's here! Did you miss me? Of course you missed me! Now who's hungry?"

Vox walked over to grab the feed his shark consumed preparing to energize his little friends. These were his pride a joy, little creations he had constructed based off of an actual shark dog he owned. Though the shark dog not dead, Vox had just made him to be indestructible to any danger. This is because of an incident that had accured with Angels. Vox isn't going to let it happen again. You could tell him apart from the manmade ones as he was a lighter blue and much larger than the rest. His name was Vark, though a lazy name it suits the lovable pet.

Vark use to be a lively creature, but it prosed a danger to him. Vox knew he had to protect his little companion, so he operated on him. Nothing hurtful of course, just protection. The outer layer of the shark was now a metal encasing. The internal of his beloved pet was now chips and wires.

Vox laughed remembering how vark use to chase Velvette around. Valentino was his least favorite of the three, always snapping at him. Though the shark tolerated him he'd never go anywhere with him alone.

Alastor only slightly met the beloved shark, though Vox knew he wasn't much into dogs.

Vark at his core is still Vark and with a switch of a button his normal behavior can return, but for the time being he is to stay with the other mechanical sharks.

Vox opened a shoot which the feed fell through into the tank. Vark unlike anyone else was a companion he could rely on to never leave him.

Vox walked over to a switch at the side of the tank and pulled. It sent a electromagnetic shock into the tank causing the manmade mechanical sharks to swim around in glee. Vark unphased by the shock happily munched on his feed.

"Who's good boy's?!? You are! Oh yes you are!" Vox kissed the tank, "especially you my goodest boy of all, Vark!" Vox cleared his throat straightening his posture, "I promise I'll let you out soon, we can have some fun. I may even take you on a walk."

Vark wagged his tail at the mention of a walk and swam in circles letting out a happy yelp.

Vox smiled caressing the glass, he really did have a soft spot for beings he cares about. Especially the ones he himself takes care of. Vox sighed letting his hand fall away from the glass and went to pick up the checkbook he left to the side. It was time to visit that lowly hazbin hotel.

He zapped into a camera leading him outside and he began his dreaded walk. He sighed getting ready to put on his show face. It took alot of talent to be able to fake it like Vox does, though his hypnotic eye helps.

He hopped up the steps of the hotel, his professional smile on his face. Before he could even reach out to knock the door was flung open.

"Hello! Welcome back!" Charlie stood at the door a real bright cheery smile on her face, "we have so much to go over before the end if today so lets get started!"

"Oh well aren't you lively Charlie! Nice to see you again." Vox looked over to Alastor who was currently sitting at the check in desk sorting through some files. "Though shouldn't I pay first?"

Charlie laughed, "Oh don't worry about that, you can pay later!" Charlie clasped her hands around Vox's and pulled him, "so as I'm sure you know this hotel is all about rehabilitating sinners, so they can go to heaven"

"Yes I'm aware of the sad idea of this Hotel." Vox responded rolling his eyes, "Charlie do you actually have any proof sinners can be redeemed? Cause last I remember you didn't."

Charlie flushed, "well no, buuut it's never been tried before. This would be the first time someone has actually tried. And I believe that everyone has a chance to be redeemed" a happy smile spread across her face again, "I truly believe thay sinners can be redeemed and retried for a spot in heaven."

Vox chuckled, "well then lets hope your faith will be enough."

Charlie nervously laughed, "right uh- lets introduce you to everyone! I know you met some of them yesterday, but let's have a proper introduction."

Vox widened his eyes not expecting to be dragged, this was nothing like how he thought it was going to be. He looked up at the the sinners who were sitting around chatting together. He immediately recognized all of them, but didn't tell charlie that.

Charlie let go of Vox who immediately readjusted his suit and stood straight, "hello everyone! I know some of you already know who this is, but this is Vox! He's going to be staying to review our lovely hotel! So lets all give him a warm welcome!" The room was silent as everyone just stared at Vox. Charlie let out a nervous laugh, "ok well how about we just introduce ourselves." Charlie turned to Vox, "you go first, since you are the newest member."

"I'm Vox creator of Vox tech and head of the vees, I'll be leaving a review for this lovely establishment when I have gathered enough information on it," His smile grew.

"Hey- don't I know you?" Husk asked who was sitting across from Angel dust.

"Ah yes we've met before, but only for a moment. You were the gambler correct?" Vox said trying to avoid Husk from persisting.

"Yeah yeah! I do know you! You were doing something stupid like writting a schedule and doing meaningless tasks." Husk laughed, "you always said you did those things because you liked being helpful ..." Husk glanced over to Alastor and smirked, "to you know who anyways."

Vox felt his system heat up with anger, but his internal cooling system kept his face appearing a light blue. "What a lovely thing to remember." Vox couldn't help but push out through his smile.

Angel Dust groaned, "are you actually serious letting this psychopath live in the hotel?"

Charlie had a weak forced amile on her face, "well Angel I am, if Vox wants to review the hotel then who am I to stop him." Her knees buckled leaning towards Angel. She then let out a whisper through her nervously clenched teeth, "we also need the money really bad haha"

"Nice to see you again Angel, looking fabulous as always" Vox warmly smiled.

Angel sunk into his seat a visable sulk on his face, "Charmed."

Vox looked over to Pentious and gave him a terrifying toothy grin making the snake sinner also cower back into his seat.

"Hello again sssir" Pentious nearly whispered.

Vaggie groaned looking at the chaotic mess of a introduction circle.

As Vox continued to communicate with those who sat in the communal lounge area a little bug girl was busy sweeping on the other side of the room.

This little lady was Niffty, the hotels very own maid. She did everything from cook, cleaning, pest control, and room service, and more if you asked it of her. She was very intently sweeping a very dusty corner, "sweeping, sweeping, sweeping," she repeated, but the dust was being impossible.

She stopped sweeping when a familiar voice caught her attention. She froze.

"Voxxy?"

Niffty spun around in glee, "Voxxy?!?" She scurried to the other side of the room happiness bubbling up to her surface, "Voxxy!?!" She yelled out scanning the residents and staff.

Vox stumbled as he was pushed, "What the-"

Niffty started jumping around looking in every direction, "Voxxy!?!? Hello!?! Voxxy!?!"

Vox widened his eyes a true smile replacing his fake one, "Niffy!?" Vox bent down to say hello, but Niffty pushed past him again. That was weird he thought.

"Voxxy!? VOXXY WHERE ARE YOU!?!" She began to ran around the tenants who were staring the bizzare interaction.

"NIFFY! It's me it's Voxxy!" Vox exclaimed at the small sinner who now looked up at him, "don't you recognize me?"

Niffty's eyes diluted looking at the man infront of her. She stomped her foot on the ground and began to scream, "YOU'RE NOT VOXXY!!!"

Vox furrowed his eyebrows, "what? I am-" before he could continue Niffty linged at him and crawled her way up to his screen and began to scratch and pull at his screen. "HEY!!! WHAT THE- NIFFY!!!"

Niffty continued to throw her tantrum pulling at Vox's antennae, "YOU'RE NOT VOXXY!!! I WANT VOXXY!! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM!!!"

"OWWW NIFFY!" Vox was struggling to grab the little bug off him when she was suddenly jerked away from him.

"Now now, that is no way to treat an old friend." Alastor appeared next to Vox holding the girl under his arm as she squirmed to get free.

"But he doesn't look like Voxxy? Voxxy has such a pretty screen, this ones ugly!" She whined.

"I can assure you dear girl that is indeed him" Alastor assured patting the girl on the head who then huffed, "though I agree the screen is quite terrible."

Vox gave Alastor a galre before leaning down to look Niffty in the eye an agitated look on his face, "This is why I call you Niffy." He said poking her on the forehead and sticking his tongue out at her.

"Wait how does the stupid Tv know Niffty?" Angel asked raising an eyebrow.

Vox gave angel a half assed answer that didn't actually mention how they met, "We both arrived in hell in 50's"

"Well I that's quite lovely! You two can catch up during your stay Vox!" Charlie exclaimed going to sit next to Vaggie who rolled her eyes knowing she was not getting involved today. Charlie felt she had plenty of time to talk to Vox now that he would regularly be at the hotel, so he let him interact with Niffty.

Niffty popped herself out of Alastors grip who hummed in annoyance, "well if you're really Voxxy then- what do I watch?!?"

Vox crossed his arms staring down at the little lady, "well I remember you loved to watch cooking shows especially got into the ones from the 60's. Said they had more variety. You also loved the infomercials" he smiled picking up Niffty who began smiling. He also slowly began to shift himself away from the others. Mainly away from Alastor, "then after you had your fill of television you'd make me help you cook whatever awful recipe you learnt always ignoring the fact that I'm a terrible chef."

Niffty giggled, "what else did we do?!?"

Vox settled Niffty back on the floor, "after that I'd dress you up in the cutest little 50's outfits," Vox spun her around suddenly making a staticky red and black 50's style polka dot dress apear on her.

Niffty let out a little squeal and twirled herself, "You are Voxxy!"

Vox laughed, "That's what I've been trying to tell you silly girl."

Niffty ran up to him hugging his legs, the polka dot dress disappearing in a pop of electricity.

Vox smiled. At least somethings don't change. "Hey how about I help you sweep, like the old times?"

Niffty clapped her hands, "oooohhhohoho yes! That would be perfect." She jumped up grabbing Vox's hand causing him to lean over, as she lead him to the corner where she was battling the dust.

Vox nervously chuckled as he was being yet again dragged to another portion of the hotel, yet it was also because he could feel the stare of the radio demon from behind.

Niffy handed him a very small broom when Alastor walked over snatching it from him, "that won't do." Alastor handed the tiny broom back to Niffty and made a larger one for Vox, "that's better, if you're going to help then do it right."

Vox's eyes narrowed, "what are you doing?" His face in a scowl.

"Making sure the Hotel doesn't go up in flames with your presence," Alastor shrugged, "I've seen your company it's unorganized and disastrous," Alastor turned looking at Vox out of the corner of his eye and laughed, "Though doesn't seem too out of character for you, old pal."

"Dick," Vox cursed under his breath as he began to sweep with Niffty.

-

Throughout the day Vox helped Niffty with her tasks. He enjoyed catching up with her. He'd never admit it, but he missed her so much. Apart of him returned when he saw her smile at him again.

Niffty use to help keep Alastors studio clean, she always had a knack for cleanliness. Not like Alastor needed the help, but Vox use to believe he just enjoyed the little gals company.

Vox never had someone to care for before, Alastor surely didn't need to be taken care of. Niffty however acted like a little girl who needed to be looked after. It felt nice being able to provide and to protect her from possible dangers. He especially liked making her feel special. Dressing her up so she could feel like the prettiest lady in the world. He would spend every dime he earned on new dresses and gifts for her because in his eyes she was the prettiest girl in the world. If you had asked Vox back then he would have considered himself her guardian. Today however he knew he didn't deserve that title. He had left her all by herself abandoning her like she was nothing. Maybe he thought... inside this pathetic hotel he might be able to redeem himself in his own way.

The day was rather pleasant. The guest and staff relaxed after seeing Vox spend his time around Niffty all day. They went on with their separate lives forgetting the demon was there at all. Charlie and Vaggie sat cozied together planning their next move to promote the hotel. Husk lazily sat at the bar drinking and Angel was off at work. Alastor did everything and anything he could possibly do, he made sure chairs were exactly where they needed to be, made sure schedules were updated regularly to be exactly correct.

He acted more computer than Vox did.

Vox was currently seated by himself tapping away at his phone to catch up on the work he left unattended. Though Velvette said not to worry about it, he needed to look.

He sighed putting down his phone looking at the residents chattering on the other side of the room. It was quite nice here if he had to be completely honest.

The Hotel was the complete opposite of his tower. It was calm. Usually by now he would have had to hunt down an employee who was acting out, or clean up a mess caused by Valentino. Even Velvette caused problems for him. The atmosphere of the Hotel however was friendly and everything was neat and organized. Though the staff small they all did their respective duties. The guest also seemed to be enjoying themselves.

His eyes wandared to Alastor who was chatting with Niffty, she was giggling and grinning wide. A small smile crept it's way onto his face at the scene. His eyes going half lidded, as he stared into space. He wondered if this was the kind of company he would have had if Alastor just said yes all those years ago. A company filled with smiles and cooperation. A place that didn't need to be micromanaged, staff he could trust would get the job done, and most of all an atmosphere that didn't induce constant misery and stress.

He let a soft whisper leave his lips, "why did you have so say no..."

As if Alastor heard him the demons neck snapped towards him.

Vox widened his eyes snapping out of his trance and glared at the other, focusing his attention back on his phone which began to blow up with work messages.

He groaned, "can't these bastards keep it together without me for a day?!" He harshly whispered to himself. He put his phone away jumping up from where he was seated and made his way over to the check in desk.

Taking out the checkbook he leaned over the desk grabbing a pen he could borrow and wrote in the required amount he owed and then signed his name. His handwriting was terrible; pure chicken scratch. He placed the pen back where he found it and left the check on Alastors accounting book he last saw him using.

Alastor appeared behind the desk clearly annoyed at the intrusion of Vox grabbing his things.

Vox rolled his eyes, "calm down, I put it back where it was."

"Wouldn't be out of character if you didn't." Alastor stated looking at the mess of handwriting on the check that was barely legible, "You're gonna have to rewrite this, it won't do."

Vox snatched the check away from him and shoved it in his pocket, "fine, you perfectionist bastard." He pulled the checkbook back out and held his hand out, "I need a pen, can I have it" he lazily asked.

Alastor gave Vox back the pen he used, "make it neat this time."

Vox annoyed quickly rewrote the check and handed it to Alastor, "this neat enough?" He mocked him.

Alastor took the check from him ripping it, "no not quite, write it again."

"Oh you-" Vox angrily set the checkbook on the table and slowly, but shakily wrote out a new check. "This good?"

"Hmm no" Alastor took the check and ripped it in two.

"Oh come on! It's been awhile and that was the best I could do!" Vox seething as he saw Alastors amused face.

"Not your best. Do it again," Alastor grinned at him.

Vox inhaled sharply trying to contain his anger and he again took the pen in his hand and wrote. He moved slower, much slower this time. His concentration fully on writting this damn check. He smiled to himself looking at the hand writting, it wasn't that bad. He picked it up and grinned at Alastor, "does this fit your impossible standards?"

Alastor took the check scanning it over and nodded, "this will do."

Vox rolled his eyes watching as Alastor placed the check in his book, "You're a prick" he scoffed at how organized the other was before turning to the door.

Vox walked out without acknowledging the others. Once outside he swiftly placed a little device that had no other purpose than to pulse waves of electricity when he needed it to. This was so he could travel here much faster without having to walk.

He quickly zapped home through his new found device to his other Vees. He needed to be home early today. It was Velvette's turn to pick the movie this time after all.
