Adrien sighed as his car pulled up to the curb at school. Already a crowd had grown, waiting to pounce to get his picture, an autograph. All he wanted was a friend. Adrien bowed his head, grateful the windows were so darkly tinted, no one could see the tears sliding down his face. He just wanted a hug from Mother, sending off his lunchbox and a note that read "I love you" followed by a drawing of a dinosaur. His mother had dealt with crowds, the press, her fans every day of her life. And yet, Adrien had ever see her angry. How did she do it?

Well, she certainly wouldn't have moped in the car all day. Putting on his invisible mask, Adrien stepped out of the crowd. "Adrien! Adrien!" they shouted, but Adrien longed for quiet, a set of loving arms.

Finally, he made it to the steps of school, were he looked back, the crowd watching his every move. "I don't understand why you hate the attention," Plagg piped up. Adrien now far enough away from the crowd made a disgusted face. "Because its not fame or fortune I seek, Plagg," he explained to his Kwami. "Its love."

Adrien knew he'd have to be brave soon and face his father. His emotions had been simmering beneath the surface for far to long, before like a stove lid boiling over.

"Oh!" Adrien broke out of his thoughts to see Marinette on the floor, desperately trying to grab her scattered papers. Now, there was a sweet girl. A real friend. "Need some help?" he asked, squatting down beside her. Her smile made his heart race. "Thanks."

With the two of them working together, Marinette's papers were soon collected. She scribbled a note on one and handed it to Adrien. "I'd love to hang out sometime," she said, shyly, then gave him a one-armed hug.

She walked away then, and Adrien smiled after her as she departed. Now, there was a true friend.
