Sansa
Sansa was walking down the long corridor to her chamber, escorted by Lannister guards. She hated the men who served Joffrey. Ser Borros with a mean face, extremely brutal and heartless, Ser Mandon indifferent to everything and the one she feared the most- Sandor Clegane. Even though she didn't know him well, she had only bad feelings about him. He seemed cruel and, above all, had a nasty face. She glanced at him furtively, and he gave her an unpleasant look. She deeply regretted her behavior and quickly looked at the ground. She felt shame and humiliation, fully aware that they knew exactly what she was doing in the chamber with the king. Maybe they even heard her screams. Sansa turned red with embarrassment and hoped to hide in her chamber as soon as possible. She always considered decency to be the greatest virtue, and after what Joffrey did to her, she felt like she was the most indecent woman in the kingdom. Memories from tonight, when Joffrey had broken her resistance to defile her, kept flashing through her mind.
She still couldn't believe she had lost her virginity before marriage, especially to someone like Joffrey. It wasn't a sexual experience that she had imagined in her idyllic dreams. She has always thought that it should be an exceptionally pleasant and passionate act that is the culmination of a romantic relationship. Unfortunately, in her case, the truth turned out to be completely different from her imagination. She felt as if someone had inserted a knife into her body and was simply cutting her by moving it deeper and deeper. She felt as if she had become just a shell from which someone had taken her life. She felt as if Joffrey had killed her and only her aching soul was walking through the castle corridors. She was lost in dreams of Winterfell and the desire to see her brother who will rescue her.
She knew that her brother Robb won several battles against the Lannisters and that he will come here soon and deal with that monster Joffrey. She hoped that he will treat him like Joffrey did her father and that this way she would forget all the harm and sins that had been committed against her. It hurt between her legs and she still felt as if Joffrey was looking at her with those empty, sermon eyes making her feel naked.
She stopped for a moment and felt fear that made her legs weaker. The guards sped up and told her to go faster. Sansa became scared and assumed that she was going to be beheaded or beaten on Joffrey's orders."I will test your faithfulness,"- she remembered Joff's voice.
Sansa felt very dizzy and felt as if she was physically moving away from her body, feeling her heart palpitations. She felt sick and her face turned pale. Some people could be heard whispering around and, unusually for this time, there was some confusion. Sansa saw people running around the castle chaotically and talking to each other. She saw fear and great surprise in their eyes. They all looked at her with such pity. Sansa burst into tears. "He ordered it to be done. This monster ordered me to be killed because he used me and he's bored".
However, she decided not to be afraid. "I wouldn't give him the satisfaction, even if he led me straight to beheading," she thought proudly. After a while, Sansa realized that something terrible must have happened in the castle and it wasn't about her. Frightened people ran down one route to the underground, everyone was screaming and didn't seem to notice her. -Come here, girl- Sandor Clegane whispered to her, grabbing her hand.
-I'm afraid of you- she screamed and quickly moved away, but the other guards looked at her with laughter.
-Stannis attacked the city, we'll all be dead soon- a woman sobbed from afar.
Clegane nodded to the other guards. -Go find Prince Tommen, quickly!-he said loudly.
-I'll escort Lady Stark- he said in a sour voice. Sansa was terrified at the thought of going anywhere alone with the Hound, but on the other hand, she felt a sense of relief in her heart that she would soon finally have a chance to escape Joffrey when Stannis impaled his head. "It's over," she thought and wiped her tears.
-Not so fast, little bird -said Clegane. -You're running away from reality so deeply again, I know what you're thinking,- he said and grabbed her hand.
-About what? You don't know anything- she said proudly.
-You think Stannis will show you mercy, but he won't, you are worthless to him, just like the Lannisters.
Sansa was outraged and raised her voice -I come from House Stark, he would never hurt me. Stannis is noble just like King Robert.
The two remaining guards headed towards Prince Tommen's chamber while Clegane pulled Sansa's hand tightly towards him and laughed wryly.
-I can't believe you're as mature as they say, you think like a little girl-he said in his kind way, with pity in his voice.
Sansa started to doubt her beliefs and looked at the Hound, terrified.
-If so, tell me, what will they do to me?- Tears lit up in her eyes.
The Hound approached her and offered her his hand. Sansa knew she had no choice, even though this man terrified her, he was her last chance. He quickly grabbed her around the waist and lifted her into his arms. Sansa tried to struggle, but there was no point in it any longer. Terrified, she watched as the Hound ran quickly and carried her to who knows where. Terrified people were running around, hoping that they won't die after all. Sansa began to pray to the gods to spare her and she hoped that her brother Robb finally find her. However, she wondered where Clegane was taking her and became concerned as he carried her towards the prisoners' cells.
-Where are you taking me?- she shouted at him.
-Hush, little bird, you don't want the queen to notice us and force you to die with Joffrey- he said sarcastically.
He ran fast until they were underground, they were lucky that the people didn't seem to notice them even though they recognized Sansa for sure.
-But you serve the queen and the king,- Sansa said, intrigued.
-I don't serve anyone, fuck them all - Sansa laughed lightly and felt the fear began to leave her. The Hound wanted to help her and it wasn't some malicious trick by Joffrey. Sandor carried her down the stone stairs, through several corridors with dungeons until they found themselves in a tiny alley with a narrow and tight door. There was nothing in the room, no light, only a creaking floor and mice. Sandor set her down and closed the door loudly.
-This is disgusting- Sansa shouted. I don't want to, you can't…
-Be quiet, little bird, then no one will find us here.
Sansa was used to nice and tidy places and at that moment she was in a disgusting place where she felt like an ordinary servant.
-I'm going North,- Clegane announced.
-Come with me, and I'll take you home to your family, you don't have to be afraid of anything,- he said quietly.
-But I...- Sandor put a finger to her lips.
-Don't be afraid, little bird, I will take care of you.- He placed his hand on her forehead.
-No, please, I don't think I can... I don't think I can,- tears came to her eyes.
Sansa hesitated for a long moment, after all, she had long wanted to escape from here even on her own, but the prospect of traveling with the Hound terrified her. The man seemed affectionate towards her, but she didn't know what would happen if she found herself with him in some wilderness where he wouldn't be controlled and could hurt her. He had a terrifying appearance and she knew he liked to kill. She was also afraid that he might rape her like Joffrey. Additionally, she imagined what would happen if Joff found out that she had escaped and managed to catch her, then she would inevitably be dead. Thoughts kept coming back to her that if Stannis won and took the throne, she would be able to return home, and if not she would ask Stannis for it. She didn't think he had any bad intentions towards her. By analyzing all the threats, it seemed the most reasonable solution.
-No- Sansa said.
-Thank you for your help, but please leave me and go away. You are a great knight. I will pray to the Gods for you - she smiled through tears and moved away slightly.
Suddenly the hound grabbed her hand tightly.
-I won't let you, I'm taking you with me, he can't hurt you anymore - he said eloquently. Sansa shuddered, wondering what was going on. How did the Hound find out about this, how did he know about Joffrey? She felt very embarrassed, thanking the Gods for being in a dark room.
-I don't know what you're talking about,- she lied.
-You know the truth about your king, he will do even worse things to you, you know that - said the hound sadly and touched her hair.
-You don't deserve this, little bird. If by some miracle Stannis loses, you could soon end up as the mother of his bastards, you know that, right?
When he said this, Sansa felt very embarrassed and bowed her head without answering. They stood in silence for a minute when the hound grabbed her hand again, more gently this time.
-This is your last chance, get out of here, the king is evil- Sansa suddenly interrupted him.
-I don't know what you're talking about, King Joffrey is a good man, he would never hurt me, and you are a traitor when you say that - Sansa couldn't believe her own lies.
In truth, she was grateful to the Hound for his willingness to help, but as long as Joffrey lived, she was never safe and had to remain loyal to him at all costs. The Hound was speechless. Then Sansa said bravely to him.
-Let me go now, or I will tell the king that you wanted to hurt me.
Sansa felt that this was a difficult situation and that she had to choose a tactic that would allow her to survive at all costs. Stannis was her only hope, on the one hand, she wanted Joffrey dead at all costs, and on the other, she didn't want any harm to come to him. She didn't understand it, especially after what he had done to her. When she imagined the death of the young king, she felt terrible and somehow guilty. She realized that in some inexplicable way, she was connected to him even though she didn't want to be. If Stannis wins, she will regain her freedom. If Joffrey wins, he will not be able to accuse her of betrayal. She will stay here and let the Gods decide.
Sansa asked the Hound in an emotional voice.
-Where are you going? Should I stay here alone? - Sansa said as he touched the door.
-There's nothing left for me here. You are afraid of me.
Sansa believed that in the face of danger, he should take her to a safer place before leaving.
-You don't need me- he said dryly.
-What if I need you here, not in the North? - she asked bravely.
The Hound was confused, he was very surprised by this question. He stood over her until she felt his drunken and slightly unpleasant breath.
-You want me to stay for you, but you don't want to leave with me? What do you want, girl?
Sansa flinched when she heard several soldiers rush into the dungeons, probably already looking for her.
"It's over," she thought. The gods started to play the game.
